Abstract

PT XYZ is an e-commerce company which offers an electronic buying and selling platform for a wide variety of products from many sellers to buyers. As an industry engaged in the commercial sector, logistics has a vital role in shipping goods from upstream to downstream to meet consumer desires. However, conditions in the field are not always in accordance with the plans. Lost or damaged goods during delivery or at the Warehouse are a frequent problem. PT XYZ, through its XYZ Logistics team, implements a claims system for replacing items lost or damaged during the operational process. Currently, the claim submission system is done manually via email. This manual claim system creates many problems due to the lack of proper coordination between stakeholders. Therefore, this study proposed a solution with a lean six sigma approach using the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control) method. The solution offered to improve PT XYZ's claim system is to design an automated claim system using a website-based application. After implementing a website-based application to automate the XYZ logistics claim process, it was proved that the company was able to reduce lead time by up to 60% from initial conditions, up to 33% of stakeholder workload, and improve data security and real-time supervision.

Abstract

Inventory management is a critical component of supply chain management that involves the planning, controlling, and overseeing of inventory levels to ensure the availability of materials while minimising costs. Proper inventory management ensures that essential food supplies are always available, allowing the hospital to provide consistent and varied meal options tailored to patient needs. Effective inventory management also ensures that there are no disruptions in meal service due to stockouts and avoids the capital and storage issues related to overstocking. This study aims to provide solutions to hospitals in terms of planning and controlling materials for the 2024 budget year so that hospitals can improve in terms of inventory management. The economic order quantity model is used to determine the optimal number of orders to be made to maintain inventory at a certain level while optimising inventory costs. The result showed that the optimal order quantity for chicken meat is 41 kg, beef is 21 kg, and rice is 112 kg, and the inventory cost incurred due to the stock is Rp. 170,000, Rp. 268,000, and Rp. 191,400, respectively.

Abstract

The increasing public awareness of taking medicines, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, has made the pharmaceutical industry grow very rapidly. Therefore, the company is trying to increase its production, so it needs to add a coding machine. The choice of machine has a long-term impact because it will be used to assist the production process in the next few years, so it is necessary to use a method that is able to solve problems involving the consideration of company leaders, namely the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. The order of priority of the coding machine selection criteria is the ability to print codes (33.6%), maintenance and repair costs (29.6%), the convenience of spare parts, solvents or make-up. and ink (16.2%), price (12.5%), and ease of use (8.1%). Based on the respondent's questionnaire, the order of the best alternative coding machines is Supplier A at 49.12%, Supplier B at 27.28%, and last Supplier C at 23.60%.

Abstract

Chili is a strategic agricultural commodity that has high economic value and makes a real contribution to the national economy. The biggest problem in the chili trade system is price stabilization. Unstable prices occur when there is a change in supply volume. Based on BPS data in 2021, North Sumatra is the largest chili center outside Java with a contribution of 14.16%. Followed by West Sumatra and Aceh contributing 8.27% and 4.6% respectively. The center for red chili production in North Sumatra Province is Batu Bara Regency, which has an area of 982 ha with a productivity of 8 tons/hectare for red chilies, apart from Karo, Simalungun and Dairi. One way to overcome the chili problem in Batu Bara Regency is with the Rumah Produksi Bersama (RPB) program, which is a place for micro and small business actors to carry out joint production activities with similar product commodities, dependence on similar workforce skills, or the use of complementary technologies. Apart from that, RPB is a promotion for regional government investment in developing their region (Regional Branding) in addition to differentiating products and increasing value. For this reason, a Feasibility Study Method for the RPB KUKM for chili commodities in Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra Province is needed, including through location, Production, Marketing, Financial and Management analysis as well as reviewing the regional image. Based on the results of the feasibility study, it was found that the location of the RPB is in chili, Lubuk Cuik Village, Limapuluh Pesisir District, Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra Province, which is not far from the chili center in Batu Bara Regency. To achieve feasibility in accordance with the capabilities of RPB cutlery, it must be able to produce a minimum of 20 tons per month or around 240 tons per year with this production NPV, IRR and PP can be said to be feasible. Meanwhile, marketing is carried out B2B and B2C for potential offtakers, apart from building public-private partnerships and involving all key stakeholders, with the main player being the government.

Abstract

The rapid growth of the courier service industry, triggered by the increasing public demand for fast delivery services, has made it necessary for the Post Office to optimize the distribution process to ensure timely package delivery. The selection of distribution routes is a factor in achieving efficiency and effectiveness of delivery. Currently, the Kudus Post Office serves 9 sub-districts with 129 villages, using 12 couriers to deliver goods. However, the distribution route pattern that has not been well planned, causes a mismatch in delivery time. Thus, this study focuses on the formation of a package distribution route pattern using the Saving Matrix and Nearest Neighbor Methods, in designing a planned courier route pattern. The purpose of this method is to find out the route with the minimum distance, so as to produce an optimal delivery route that can increase customer satisfaction through faster delivery services. The results of this study are the formation of 12 package distribution route patterns for each courier, with a total difference in distance between the savings matrix and nearest neighbor methods of 127.75 km.

Abstract

This research discusses the warehouse management of fiber luggage spare parts at PT Artlyn Kreasi Mandiri using the 5S method and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). The problem that occurs is the messy arrangement of spare parts in the warehouse which results in losses due to damage to spare parts and makes it difficult for employees to do their jobs. Effective warehouse management is considered crucial in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of company operations. In this context, the 5S method is used to understand the qualitative aspects of warehouse management, while the AHP method is used for decision-making. The results on 5S indicate the need for improvement of warehouse working environment conditions to reduce spare part damage and increase operational efficiency. In addition, the application of the 5S concept in the warehouse is expected to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of spare parts warehouse management. The AHP calculation results provide weights for each criterion and alternative that support decision making. From the AHP calculation results, it can be concluded that moving to a new warehouse has a higher global weight (0.749) compared to optimizing the existing warehouse (0.251), so moving to a new warehouse is considered a more optimal warehousing strategy for the company

Abstract

Chicken eggs are an important commodity in Indonesian agribusiness and have the potential to improve the nutrition of the community and the rural economy. CV Jogja Telor is a chicken egg marketing business that is experiencing a production deficit. The qualitative analysis method using FSCN consists of six supply chain elements, namely objectives, structure, management, business processes, and resources. Supply chain performance is analysed quantitatively to assess supply chain efficiency using marketing margins and farmers˜ shares. The research findings indicate that the most efficient marketing channel is channel 1, with a farmers’ share of 100% and a marketing efficiency rate of 28,00%, namely: partner farmers → CV Jogja Telor → bakery. The least efficient marketing channel is marketing channel 4, with a farmer's share of 66,67% and a marketing margin of 33,33%, namely partner farmers → CV Jogja Telor → modern retail → end consumers. Marketing efficiency is aimed at increasing sales to bakeries and reducing the proportion of sales to modern retail, as well as using CV Jogja Telor's branded packaging for modern retail.
