Abstract

The Qur’anic Exegesis of Mahmud Yunus is one of the most popular Indonesian-language tafsir works among Indonesian Muslims. This article examines the strengths and weaknesses of the tafsir, as well as its relevance in contemporary studies. Its main strengths lie in the use of accessible and easy-to-understand language, a structured method of interpretation, and a scientific approach that links Qur’anic verses with developments in modern knowledge. The contextual approach and the socio-cultural relevance to the Indonesian setting are added values that make it suitable as a practical learning source and introductory reference for the general public in understanding the Qur’an. Moreover, the use of the tahlili method in interpretation presents a verse-by-verse analysis, complete with vocabulary explanations, background of revelation (asbāb al-nuzūl), and scholarly opinions, providing a comprehensive and systematic picture. However, there are several limitations that need to be considered, such as the minimal use of in-depth linguistic analysis, limited exploration of differences in scholarly opinion, and the lack of attention to Sufi and philosophical dimensions. Furthermore, challenges in maintaining accuracy in Indonesian linguistic structure and the possibility of varied interpretations are also notable concerns. Overall, this tafsir serves well as an introductory and practical reference, but may be insufficient for more advanced and in-depth exegetical studies. This research is expected to help readers understand the strengths and limitations of Mahmud Yunus’s tafsir and assess its relevance within the context of modern Islamic studies. Abstract

The basic principles of management can be narrowed down to four things: [1] people; [2] resources; [3] goals; and [4] time. When these four elements are realized, they appear as a social unit called an "organization". It can be concluded that management work is a subsystem of the organization. Management is the key to organizational success because with effective management, organizations can achieve goals efficiently. Management in the Qur'an is not clearly stated. But the function or purpose in the conceptual approach of the Qur'an as values will be found to be much relevant. These values include: [1] Management as an individual and collective responsibility (QS. 99:7-8). [2] Management as a means of dividing work (QS. 06:165). [3] Management as work that must be accounted for (QS. 52:21 and QS. 74:38). [4] Management as a way of efficient and productive financial management (QS. 25:67). [5] Management as planning and foresight (QS. 59:18). The dynamics of thought on Islam and education are mapped: [1] The radical and scripturalist “universalist” group. Its figures are: Sheikh Hasan al-Banna, Sayyid Qutb, Sheikh Muhammad Rasyid Ridla, and Maulana Abul A’la al-Maududi. Their argument: Islam regulates the way of life from the smallest to the largest problems, including the education system. [2] The group influenced by western liberalism. Its figures are: Ali Abd al-Razik and Thaha Husein. Their argument: There is no Islamic education but Islamic education. [3] The group that tends to be liberal. Its figures include Husein Haikal. Their argument: Education is an area of creative thinking (ijtihadi) on the foundation of Islamic values.

Abstract

A simple definition of “organization” that can be applied is: “An organization is a system of reciprocal influence among people in a group who work together to achieve certain goals.” The implementation of the organization will be concrete if there are aspects that are quite important for the organizational process, namely: (1) Organizational identity. (2) Organizational principles. (3) Formulation of goals. (4) Organizational culture. (5) Management levels. Identity is not just a name, but an organizational structure must be formed so that its management is clear. The principles of the organization have two roles, namely: (1) As a guideline in a healthy and efficient organization. (2) As a foundation in carrying out organizational activities. Meanwhile, the formulation of objectives can be explained as follows: (1) Specific. (2) Time-limited. (3) Measurable. (4) Challenging. (5) Achievable. In an organization there are also dynamics of the relationship between individual goals and organizational goals, namely: (1) Totally contradictory. (2) Partially contradictory. (3) Neutral. (4) Appropriate. (5) Exactly the same. In the context of organizational development, several functions of organizational culture: (1) Culture as a differentiator between one organization and another. (2) Culture as a shaper of organizational identity. (3) Culture as an organizational glue. (4) Culture as a control tool. In an organization there are three levels of management: (1) Top Management. (2) Middle Management. (3) First Line Management.

Abstract

This study discusses the Implementation of the Independent Curriculum in Islamic Religious Education Subjects (Face-to-Face Case Study at SMK Widya Dharma Turen). The purpose of this study is to describe the Implementation of the Independent Curriculum in Islamic Religious Education Subjects (Face-to-Face Case Study at SMK Widya Dharma Turen) in class X TJKT 1 students. Over time, the education curriculum continues to change because the curriculum is dynamic following the times. The independent curriculum in Islamic religious education subjects is very important, as a guide for human life in running life, the education process is not only on the academic aspect, but also the formation of morals (character) based on the Al-Quran and Al. Hadith. In the learning process of Islamic religious education (face-to-face case study at SMK Widya Dharma Turen) using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model where the learning process directly involves students in solving a problem. This learning method has the advantage of making each student more independent, active, creative, critical reasoning, and has a character in accordance with the profile of Pancasila students. Abstract

Kiai is a central figure in every Islamic boarding school. Kiai not only because of their knowledge, but also because they are the founders, owners and endowments of the Islamic boarding school itself. Their struggles and sacrifices are not limited to knowledge, energy and time, but also land and other materials given for the advancement of the spread of Islam. This research aims to describe the role of kiai at the Aqidah Usymuni Islamic boarding school in developing the morals of students and the inhibiting and supporting factors in carrying out their role. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type of research and uses observation, interview and documentation methods as data collection techniques. The informant is a kiai who is a caretaker at the Aqidah Symuni Islamic boarding school in Sumenep. The results of this research show several roles carried out by kiai including Kiai as caregivers, Kiai as teachers, Kiai as parents for students. Keywords : Kiai Roles, Akhlaqul Karimah

Abstract

Bani umayyah merupakan dinasti pertama dalam Islam yang berentuk monarkhi setelah berakhirnya masa Khulafaur Rasyidin. Dinasti Bani Umayyah didirikan oleh Mu’awiyah bin Abu Sofyan. Meskipun berbentuk monarkhis, namun Bani Umayyah telah membawa kemajuan peradaban dalam Islam baik dalam pemerintahan, keilmuan maupun ekspansi wilayah. Oleh karena itu dalam kajian ini difokuskan pada bagaimana Perkembangan Budaya dan Peradaban Dinasti Bani Umayyah Dalam Dunia Islam. Kajian ini adalah kajian pustaka dengan sumbernya berupa buku dan jurnal yang sesuai dengan pokok bahasan Hasil kajian ini yaitu bahwa berdirinya dinasti Bani Umayyah terjadi, setelah adanya kesepakatan dengan Hasan bin Abi Thalib. Walaupun akhirnya Mu’awiyah mengingkarinya dengan menjadikan pemerintahannya pemerintahan absolut-monarkhi dan mengangkat putranya Yazid sebagai penggantinya. Keputusan ini diambil karena memiliki alasan yang rasional yaitu menghindari terjadinya konflik yang di antara sesama umat Islam karena pada waktu itu muncul kelompok-kelompok lain yang memiliki ambisi untuk menjadi Khalifah dengan jalan menentang dan memberontak kepada perintahan yang legal. Kelompok-kelompok ini, tampaknya bersatu dalam melawan Mu’awiyah namun sesungguhnya terjadi persaingan di antara mereka. Di antara kelompok ini adalah Husen bin Abi Tholib dan Abdullah bin Zubeir. Dinasti Bani Umayyah berkuasa selam 90 tahun dengan 14 Khalifah. Dalam rentang waktu 90 tahun, yang telah dicapai diantaranya (1) Penataan Organisasi Negara yang meliputi L a). Organisasi Politik (b) Tata Usaha Negara (c) Angkatan Laut (d) Organisasi Keuangan/Ekonomi (e) Organisasi Kehakiman (2). Perkembangan Ilmu Pengetahuan: (a) Ilmu pengetahuan Agama (b) Ilmu Pengetahuan Umum (c) Seni dan Budaya. (3) Ekspansi Wilayah yang meliputi wilayah-wilayah di benua Afrika (Afrika Utara), Eropa (Spanyol), dan beberapa wilayah Asia hingga memasuki perbatasan China Kata kunci: Sejarah dan Perkembangan

Abstract

The aim of this research is to conduct how santri’s intellectual concept being developed as the well as it becomes a relevant characteristic. This research is also determined to respond two primary issues faced by Islamic religion in Indonesia nowadays. It constitutes the resurgence of intellectual traditions and the emergence national moderation modus. The findings of this study indicate that firstly the Islamic pesantren sufism consistently sustains Indonesian Islamic intellectual traditions, that is the implementation and development of Islamic curriculum based on Asy’ari-Maturidi, a doctrine developed from Al Qur’an. Besides that, a significant decrease in education quality in rural areas, which is induce the appearance of pesantren sufism. Then, pesantren sufism reacted to the recent educational institutions taught by its alumna. As the results of the consistency of institutional Islamic education, pesantren sufism play a main role in religious moderation.   Key words: intellectual; Islamic education; moderation; pesantren; sufism

Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of a misunderstanding among the public regarding the meaning of jihad. In general, when the word "jihad" is mentioned, some people immediately associate it with violence, war, even suicide bombings. This assumption was also the background to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center (WTC) and the Pentagon on September 11 2001. The change in the meaning of jihad, which should have broad dimensions and not only be limited to physical aspects, has damaged the image of the Islamic religion as a whole. Sheikh Abu Bakar Muhammad Syatha in his book, I'anatut Thalibin, states that jihad is carried out to create prosperity and prosperity for all mankind. In this context, jihad is more related to efforts to create prosperity and happiness in life for Muslims without war or bloodshed. This research aims to determine the application of jihad without violence or war according to the mindset of Sheikh Abu Bakar Muhammad Syatha. The research method used is qualitative research with a library research approach, collecting data and information from various books. Data collection techniques involve searching the literature as primary and secondary sources. The results of the research show that, according to the mindset of Sheikh Abu Bakar Muhammad Syatha, jihad is an effort to create prosperity and prosperity for Muslims, therefore when prosperity and prosperity can be created without war, war should be avoided because war is a medium, not the main goal.

Abstract

This article identifies the forms or types of violence that occur in the household, where violence against a partner is very bad and threatens a household where harmony is the goal. Good communication can also avoid domestic violence and can even prevent the causes of divorce. The research method for this research is qualitative literature study, research data collection refers to Law Number 23 of 2004, previous research with a Maqashid Syariah perspective. Maqashid Syariah with the concept of protecting the five main principles in Islam, namely preserving religion, soul, mind, lineage and property. This is where the teachings of the Islamic religion and laws play a very important role in becoming a guide in running the household. Data from the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection from January to July 2023 recorded that 18,250 cases of domestic violences occurred in Indonesia. This incident is truly ironic in Indonesia, where with a high level of religious belief there are still many perpetrators of violence. Through the Maqashid Syari'ah approach, it tries to find the causes and effects of problems that arise in domestic violence and the law tries to become a guideline so that it can be understood and implemented, in order to avoid and minimize the causes of cases of violence to establish a good and harmonious household life in accordance with the teachings Islam and can be sakinah mawaddah warahmah.

Abstract

This research is conducted by the fact that Islamic boarding schools as institutions that produce good generations require that boarding school caregivers also look for qualified cadres of relatives. Islam recommends kafaah as a basic criterion in choosing a partner in order to achieve household goals. On average, kiai families marry their sons to fellow kiai children too, the reason for taking the view of kiai families in PP. Raudlatul Ulum 2 Putukrejo, whether the views of the kiai families there are different or the same. Regarding the formulation of the problem, namely what is the concept of kafaah in building a household and what is the concept of kafaah for the family of kiai. Raudlatul Ulum 2 Putukrejo when viewed from a family sociology perspective. The results of this research are that the concept of kafaah in building a household is the religious factor that is the number one factor in kafaah. Religion includes good morals. Apart from religion, there are lineage factors. The concept of kafaah when viewed from a family sociology perspective is in accordance with the theory of homogamy and heterogamy. This is due to choosing because there are similarities, but there is also the opposite, choosing because there are differences (not necessarily equal).
