Abstract

This study was used to determine the effect of social competence and the ability to compile learning devices on pedagogical and professional competencies of students in the Mathematics Education Study Program. This research leads to the problem of social competence towards pedagogic and professional competence, the ability to develop learning tools towards pedagogic and professional competence. This type of research is associative quantitative. The research was carried out in high school / vocational high school as a place for students of Mathematics Education Study Program FKIP Muhammadiyah University Purworejo 2019/2020. The sample used in this study was 32 students. The method of data collection uses documentation of the value of apprenticeship 1, 2 and 3. Data processing techniques use product moment correlation test and simple regression analysis. As a prerequisite test, normality and homogeneity tests were performed. For the requirements analysis, a significance test and linearity test were performed. The results of this study are (1) there is a positive and significant influence between social competencies on pedagogical and professional competencies; (2) there is a positive and significant influence between the ability to compile learning devices on pedagogical and professional competence

Abstract

This study aims to describe the strategic competence of students in solving story problems in Congruence. This research uses descriptive qualitative research method with 15 students in class IX-A as the subject. The subject selection test used is a personality test of students who have a melancholic type which is adapted directly from the instrument that has been compiled by Florence Littauer. From the sampling of melancholic type students, strategic competencies will be analyzed in solving math problems on the similarity material. The results of personality tests for students in grades IX-A are 2 students who are melancholic type, 4 students are choleric type, 4 students are phlegmatic type, 5 students are sanguinis type. Two students, namely 2 males with a melancholic personality type, were selected as research subjects for a strategic competency test and continued with interviews based on strategic competency indicators. The results of data analysis showed that 2 students met the indicators of strategic competence in solving mathematical problems in the Comparison material. Melancholy type students fulfill strategic competence indicators, namely understanding the situation and conditions of a problem, finding key words and ignoring irrelevant things from a problem, presenting problems mathematically in various forms, choosing the appropriate presentation. to help solve problems, choose an effective solution method in solving a problem and find a solution to the given problem. These findings indicate the need for further research on learning styles.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze students’ mathematical creative thinking ability in terms of cognitive style and gender. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The sampling technique was purposive sampling with the subject of this study were 4 students, consisting of 1 male student with a reflective cognitive style, 1 male student with an Impulsive cognitive style, 1 female student with a reflective cognitive style, and 1 female students with Impulsive cognitive style. The instruments in this study were the Matching Familiar Figure Test (MFFT) and mathematical creative thinking skills. Data analysis in this study is by data reduction and categorization, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The triangulation technique was used to validate the data by comparing the test results of the subject’s mathematical creative thinking ability with the interview. The conclusion of this study is that male gender subjects (namely S1 and S3), both reflective and impulsive cognitive styles are more able to think more flexibly by providing some prism netting images or some correct answers when solving math problems than female gender subjects ( namely S2 and S4) with reflective and impulsive cognitive style. Meanwhile, female gender subjects with impulsive cognitive style (S4) can provide detailed answers and have better accuracy than male gender subjects (S1 and S3)

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the students’ difficulties in solving the test questions with indicators of the logical-mathematical thinking ability in one of the geometry materials, especially cubes. This study was conducted according to the facts in 9th-grade of SMP Negeri (State Junior High School)in one of the schools in Karawang Regency. This study used descriptive research with a qualitative approach.  The data were collected by an essay test consisting of 4 questions, and interviews. The subjects of the study were 28 9th-grade students of SMPN 1 Cikampek Karawang Regency. The instrument of the study used the essay test with indicators of logical-mathematical thinking ability according to (Andini, 2017): (1) The ability to conclude based on the appropriate portion; (2) The ability to conclude based on the examples; 3) The ability to conclude based on the existing data; (4) The ability to conclude based on the relationship between two variables. The data analysis techniques used were data collection, data reduction, data presenting, and concluding. The results of the study in the geometry materials show that all indicators of logical-mathematical thinking ability have not been achieved maximally. Only students with high category who meet the indicator, while the students who have moderate and low categories cannot meet the indicators. Out of 28 students, 3 students are in the high category with a percentage of 10.71%, 75% of students are in the moderate category, and 4 students are in the low category with a percentage of 14.29%. These results of the study show that students still have difficulty understanding and mastering the concepts to solve the test questions with the indicators of logical-mathematical thinking ability.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe student learning outcomes after the teacher applies the TGT (Teams Games Tournament) learning model with ludo games. This research was conducted at MA Raudlatul Ulum Klampis on class X-MIA students, amounting to 24 even semester students. This research is quantitative descriptive. For data collection using research instruments in the form of student learning outcomes test sheets. The data collected in this study were test data on student learning outcomes after participating in the learning process using the test method. After the data was obtained, the data that had been collected were analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques, namely the analysis of student learning outcomes tests which were analyzed using the completeness of individual learning outcomes and classical learning outcomes. Students are said to be complete individually if they get a value of ≥65 and a class is said to be classically complete if they get KKM in the class totaling ≥65%. The conclusion of this study is that the application of the TGT learning model with the game of Ludo has an effect on student learning outcom

Abstract

This research aims to produce mathematics teaching materials based on the ALQURUN Teaching Model (ATM). This research is a research and development (R and D) with the ADDIE development model. There are 5 stages in the ADDIE development model, namely: (1) Analysis; (2) Design; (3) Development; (4) Implementation; (5) Evaluation. The data collection instruments used were: interviews, material expert validator questionnaire, media expert validator questionnaire, student response questionnaire, and concept understanding ability tests. The results of the analysis of the material expert validation and media products of teaching materials based on ALQURUN Teaching Model fall into the feasible category of use with an average of 3.58 and 3.62 of the maximum score 4. The results of the analysis of student responses in small-scale trials (10 students) Large scale (20 students) for the developed teaching materials obtained very attractive criteria with an average score of 3.48 and 3.65 from a maximum score of 4. While the results of the effectiveness test of teaching material products developed towards improving students' understanding of mathematical concepts obtained  the moderate category. with an effect size of 0.50 for SMPN in Lampung Utara. From these results,it shows that the produce mathematics teaching materials based on the ALQURUN Teaching Model (ATM) is very feasible to be used in supporting learning activities in the classroom.

Abstract

Mathematics problem-solving is a process to apply te previous knowledge into a new situation. The purpose of this study is to investigate the students’ errors to finish mathematics problem-solving exercises. The subject of the study were 15 students of Xa grade of  SMAK Stella Maris Niki-Niki. The researcher used a qualitative description as the method and collected the data through observation, test, and interview. In analyzing the data, the researcher adopted a model from Miles and Huberman with a validity test through the triangulation technique. The result of this study showed that the student’s errors in problem-solving mathematics in the form of error concept, principle, technical and algorithm/procedure. In general, the factors cause students error were low ability to understand the concept, students did not accurate and they were unfamiliar to finish mathematics problem-solving exercises.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to see how effective flipped-project-based learning models are at improving students' mathematical representation skills in class X at SMK Negeri 1 Jepon, Blora Regency. This study is quantitative research with an experimental method and uses a true experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design strategy. This study focuses on students in class X at SMK Negeri 1 Jepon, Blora Regency during the academic year 2021/2022. A mathematical representation skills test was employed as a data collection approach before and after studying trigonometric content. The average difference test, individual completeness test, classical completeness test, and skills improvement test were all used in the data analysis. The average value of mathematical representation skills in the experimental class is 73.85, higher than the average value of mathematical representation skills in the control class, 70.10; the average value of mathematical representation skills in the experimental class is 73.85, higher than the minimum completeness criterion of 70; the proportion of students' completeness in the experimental class is 89%, higher than 75%; and the proportion of students' completeness in the experimental class is 73.85 and an increase in the skills of mathematical representation in the experimental class with moderate criteria

Abstract

This research aims to see whether the AritGeo application can be used as a learning tool and can increase students' interest in mathematics. The research method used is the RD (Research and Development) development method, which includes (1) potential and problems, (2) data collection, (3) product design, (4) design validation, (5) design revision, (6) product trials, and (7) product revisions, as modified from the Borg Gall development model. The participants in this study were 30 class VIII students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Jakarta. The materials included in the application were arithmetic and geometry. The AritGeo application got good test results. The 3 in one concept between materials, exercises, and music can increase students' interest in learning. The results of material expert validation obtained an average percentage of 80.83%, media expert validation results of 90.05%, and student satisfaction test results of 82%. This value illustrates that the AritGeo application is in the excellent category

Abstract

The purpose of of this study is to determine the validity and practicality of a mathematics learning tools based discovery learning to facilitate the mathematical connection skills of students. This type of research is Research Development refer to 4D model.The development that the researchers carried out consisted of four stages, namely: (1) define; (2) design; (3) develop; (4) disseminate. The test subjects were 6 students of class X SMAN Plus, Riau Province. The research instrument used was a validity instrument in the form of a validation sheet to assess the feasibility of the syllabus, lesson plans and student worksheet. The validation of the learning tools by three experts. The results of the validation of the experts stated that the products that succeeded in reaching the very valid category with an average result for the syllabus were 3,95, RPP 3,95 and LKPD 3,77. In addition, this mathematics learning tools meets the practical requirements in small group trials with an average student response questionnaire of 82,93% in the very practical category. Thus, the learning tools developed have met the valid and practical requirements to facilitate students' mathematical connection abilities
