Abstract

The aim of this research was studying whether problem based learning with self assestment affect student self efication and their learning outcome. The population of this research is student of mathematics education department, Sciences Fakulty of Undiksha academic year 2019/2020. The post test only control group design was used for this experimental design. The questioner and test were used gahthering the data, which valid. It’s data the analyzed by using MANOVA. The research showed that silmutaneously there weren’t deference self efication and leaning outcome of differencial calculus between student who learned by problem based learning with self assestment and who learned by conventional learning. But, the analyzed of student worksheet was showed that 83.43% failed in solving HOTS problem in expereiment group, and the other group failed 83.41%. In addition, the results of the open questionnaires related to the use of PBM with self-assessment showed positive results, namely that 87.88% of students said they were happy with PBM with self-assessment, and only 12.12% stated that they were not happy because they had not been able to do their own assessments.

Abstract

AbstractAlgebraic ability is an important part in mathematics. Someone with good algebraic ability will have good performancein mathematics. Math performance has related with attitudes toward mathematics. Someone with good math performance will have good math ability too. Algebraic ability can represent the quantitative situation so someone with good algebraic ability can see the relationship between variables clearly. Attitudes toward mathematics is positive or negative feelings toward math.  The methods in this study uses a mixed methods with sequential explanatory design where research is conducted in two stages, followed by a quantitative research to know algebraic ability after learning with TAI’s Learning Model and followed with a qualitative research to analyze the algebraic in terms of  attitudes toward mathematics. The quantitative research start with choosing sample students in XI IPA 5 of MAN 2 Kudus, when the qualitative research took seven students in that class. After all students in that class learned and participated in algebraic ablility test, there are correlation between attitute towards mathematics and algebraic ability.AbstrakKemampuan aljabar merupakan salah satu hal penting dalam matematika. Dengan kemampuan aljabar yang baik, performa matematika seseorang akan meningkat. Performa matematika memiliki kaitan dengan  sikap terhadap matematika. Ketika performa matematika seseorang baik, maka kemampuan-kemampuan matematika dalam diri orang tersebut juga relatif baik. Kemampuan aljabar mampu merepresentasikan situasi kuantitatif sehingga seseorang yang memiliki kemampuan aljabar mampu melihat hubungan antar variabel menjadi jelas. Sikap terhadap matematika merupakan perasaan positif atau negatif seseorang terhadap matematika. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah mixed methods dengan menggunakan desain sequential explanatory dimana penelitian dilakukan dengan dua tahap yaitu penelitian kuantitatif dengan menguji kemampuan aljabar setelah diajar dengan model TAI dan selanjutnya akan dilanjutkan dengan analisis kemampuan aljabar bila ditinjau dari sikap siswa. Penelitian kuantitatif mengambil sampel siswa kelas XI IPA 5 di MAN 2 Kudus, sementara penelitian kualitatifnya mengambil subjek penelitian tujuh siswa dari kelas tersebut. Setelah siswa kelas tersebut menerima pembelajaran dan mengikuti tes kemampuan aljabar, ditemukan pengaruh sikap siswa terhadap matematika pada tingkat kemampuan aljabar yang dimiliki.

Abstract

This research aims to describe and describe curiosity student. The indicators of curiosity in this study are asking about information or problems given, reading sources outside the textbook about material related to the lesson, the desire to learn, and the desire to solve problems. The subjects of this research were students of the FKIP UIR mathematics education study program for the 2019/2020 academic year which consisted of 60 people. This research was conducted from April 2020 to July 2020. The research method used was descriptive qualitative. Retrieval of data using a curiosity questionnaire instrument at the completion of the complex analysis that has been developed by the researcher. The data analysis technique used was qualitative questionnaire data analysis. The results of data analysis show that overall the curiosity is students'classified as "good" with an average questionnaire score of 75.19%, this indicates that there is curiosity of students towards solving complex analyzes, but it still needs to be improved through learning that can increase student curiosity.

Abstract

his research is a qualitative research that aims to analyze the understanding of mathematical concepts of students of one of the yunior high school in Kupang city in problem solving on the material system of two-variable linear equations. The subjects in this study were three students of class VIII who had high ability, medium ability, and low ability. The selection of subjects were based UTS results and discussions with mathematics teacher. Data collected in the form of data on the results of problem solving tasks and the results of interviews based on indicators of understanding of the concept. Data analysis includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Checking the validity of the data using time triangulation. After the data is presented and analyzed, it can be concluded that (1) Students with high ability results are able to solve the given problems and meet the indicators of the ability to understand concepts based on APOS theory. (2) Students with medium ability results are fulfilling the ability to understand concepts based on APOS theory. (3) While students with low ability results do not meet the indicators of the ability to understand concepts based on APOS theory.

Abstract

The research to develop mathematics teaching materials in digital form that are used to measure the level of reasoning of students on the Pythagorean theorem material. The research method used is development research (R and D) with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The subjects in this research were students of grade VIII Junior High School which consisted of 24 students who were selected by purposive sampling. The results of the study were mathematics teaching materials in digital form to measure mathematical reasoning. Measure the level of mathematical reasoning of the Pythagorean theorem material. A feasibility test of mathematics teaching materials was carried out by material experts with a percentage of 90.63% and a very good category, while from media experts, the percentage was 82.50%  and a good category, mathematics teaching materials were declared eligible to be used as teaching materials for students' independent study. Trial of mathematics teaching materials to measure the level of mathematical reasoning of students who use mathematics teaching materials so that the results obtained are 4 students have low mathematical reasoning, 12 students have moderate mathematical reasoning, and as many as 8 students have high mathematical reasoning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa SMP pada materi Prisma dan Limas. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri dari 3 siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Kedungwaringin yang dipilih masing-masing 1 siswa dari setiap kategori kemampuan komunikasi matematis tinggi, sedang, dan rendah secara purposive. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan tes dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data di olah melalui tiga tahap yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah bahwa kemampuan memahami masalah sudah mampu dipahami oleh siswa kategori tinggi, sedang dan rendah sedangkan kemampuan menyusun rencana penyelesaian, melaksanakan rencana penyelesaian, dan memeriksa kembali hasil penyelesaian siswa kategori rendah masih lemah.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of self regulation, self esteem and self concept. These independent variables are factors within students who have an important role in the learning process. So that the factors in these students become the core in this research study. This type of research is ex post facto involving grade VIII students of SMPN 5 Makassar with a total sample of 168 students. Data collection techniques used questionnaire instruments of self regulation, self esteem and self concept and documentation data in the form of student achievement scores that had passed the validation process. Furthermore, the collected data were analyzed by using multiple linear regression after passing the prerequisite test process. The conclusion of this study shows that self-regulation, self-esteem and self-concept together have an effect on the learning achievement of class VIII students of SMAN 5 Makassar with a large influence of 90.2% and the remaining 9.8% is influenced by other factors. This shows that the factors from within these students have an important role in the success of students in the learning process.

Abstract

This research is a quantitative correlational study which aims to determine the contribution of students' mathematical creative and critical thinking skills in solving mathematical problems in building materials. The sample of this study were students of class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Warunggunung in the even semester of the 2019/2020 school year totaling 30, consisting of 8 male and 22 female who were determined by random sampling technique. The instrument used was a questionnaire of mathematical critical thinking skills, mathematical creative thinking skills and mathematical problem solving skills that had been tested for validity and reliability. The prerequisite test used is the normality test using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov method, the multicollinearity test and the heteroscedasticity test. Data analysis using simple and multiple linear regression analysis with a significant level of 5%. hypothesis testing using t-test. The results that obtained: 1) there is a contribution of critical thinking skills to problem solving abilities, and 2) there is a contribution of creative thinking skills to problem solving abilities.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk: 1) mengetahui apakah kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan LKS berbasis discovery learning dan pendekatan kontekstual melebihi dengan yang diajarkan menggunakan LKS berbasis langsung; 2) mengetahui KKM siswa melalui LKS berbasis discovery learning dan pendekatan kontekstual; 3) mengetahui keterlaksanaan proses pembelajaran dengan menggunakan LKS berbasis discovery learning dan pendekatan kontekstual; 4) mengetahui self-confidence siswa ketika diajarkan dengan menggunakan LKS berbasis discovery learning dan pendekatan kontekstual. Deasin Penelitian True Eksperimental Design dan Posttest-Only Control Design. Teknik analisis yang digunakan berupa uji-t dua sampel independen, uji-t satu sampel, uji proporsi satu sampel, rata-rata presentase keterlaksanaan, dan rata-rata skor self-confidence siswa. Populasi penelitian merupakan seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMPN 17 Singkawang. Sampel penelitian yaitu kelas VIII A (eksperimen) dan  kelas VIII B (kontrol). Hasil penelitian berupa: 1) kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang diajarkan dengan LKS berbasis discovery learning dan pendekatan kontekstual lebih baik dari yang menggunakan LKS berbasis langsung; 2) ketuntasan nilai belajar mencapai KKM; 3) keterlaksanaan proses belajar terlaksana sangat baik; 4) self-confidence siswa tergolong tinggi

Abstract

This study aims to examine whether there is an effect of independent learning on the mathematical reasoning abilities of junior high school students. This research is a quantitative study with a correlational method. The population in this study were all class VIII students at one of the public schools in Karawang Regency for the 2019/2020 academic year with 1 class being selected as the research sample, namely class VIII C. Data collection techniques were obtained using tests in the form of a description of questions regarding reasoning abilities mathematics, and non-tests in the form of independent learning questionnaires, as well as interviews conducted online. Then, the data obtained were analyzed using a simple linear regression test. Based on the results of data processing, the regression equation is obtained, namely Y = 7.50 + 0.35X with a determination coefficient of 79%. Thus, independent learning has a positive influence on the variable mathematical reasoning ability of students by 79%, and 21% is influenced by other factors that are not included in this simple linear regression analysis. Furthermore, obtained a significance value of 0.00 less than 0.05, then H0 is rejected. Thus, it can be interpreted that there is a significant influence between independent learning on the mathematical reasoning abilities of junior high school students.
