Abstract

Student's learning competency which mostly still under Minimum Criterion. This is caused by lack of preparation of student in face of learning process and also more dominated by teacher centered), so the less effective learning process. These problems can be solved by applying discovery learning models containing literacy science. This research is an experimental research with randomized control group design posttest only design. The population of this study is all of the class VII registered in the academic year 2017/2018. The sample was taken by purposive sampling technique that is class VII1 as control class and class VII3 as experiment class. The research instrument used is posttest for knowledge competence and affective and psychomotor observation sheet to see students' affective and psychomotor competence. Hypothesis in this study was tested using t test. The result of the research, concluded that the application of discovery learning model of science literacy can improve the learning competence of science (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) students of class VII.

Abstract

Cross-interest is a curricular program that is provided to accommodate the expansion of students' interests, talents, and academic abilities with a mastery orientation of a group of scholarly subjects beyond the choice of interests. Selection of cross-interest subjects at SMAN 1 Pasaman is determined by the school. Based on daily test result on cell materials in class XI IPS, it is known that there are still many students who have not get the minimum completeness criteria. Implementation of make a match learning model is an attempt to overcome the problem. This study aims to determine the effect of applying make-match learning model to the learning outcomes of students cross-interest about reproduction system human material class XI IPS in SMAN 1 Pasaman. This research is a quasi experimental by using Non-Randomized Control Group Posttest Only Design. The population in this study is all students of Class XI IPS in SMAN 1 Pasaman. Samples were taken using Purposive Sampling technique. In this study Class XI IPS 5 as experimental class and class XI IPS 2 as a control class. The instrument used is the final test of multiple choice questions as much as 20 items. The result of t test is known that t-value> t-table (3.51> 1.67). Therefore, the hypothesis is stated acceptable. So it can be concluded that the application of make a match learning model gives a positive influence on the learning outcomes of learners cross-interest about reproduction system material in human class XI IPS in SMAN 1 Pasaman.

Abstract

Student activity is an important factor that must be a concern in the learning process, especially in biology subjects which have tended to be considered as many memorized and Latin subjects. One effort that can be done to improve student learning activities is through the application of discovery learning models along with the provision of rewards with the material used, namely animal networks. The purpose of this study was to improve the learning activities of Biology students in class XI MIA 2 SMAN 1 Padang. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was conducted in two cycles consisting of four stages, namely planning, implementing, observing, reflecting. namely students of class XI MIA 2 SMAN 1 Padang the number of students as many as 29 people. Data collection techniques were obtained through observation, questionnaires. The results showed that the application of discovery learning learning models can improve the learning activities of Biology students in animal network material. students are classified as good from 67.93% in Cycle I, increased to 78.62% in Cycle II, and increased by 10.72%.

Abstract

Based on the observation done by the writer in Don Bosco senior high school on the odd and even semesters during 2011 concluded that teachers, in general, do not use the biology learning at the class completely. The module of biology is only available in the odd semester but not in the even semester. The process of learning that takes place during the time in school just using the textbook or handouts made by teachers in the study. Meanwhile, the textbook is available at the school are less varied. During this time the students are taught using textbooks that contain the material at length content and tend to use convoluted sentences. Moreover, the picture presented is also less communicative and sometimes has no relation with the text, so students are difficult to understand the material presented. The purpose of this study is to produce a biology module that is completed by student worksheet and oriented to the problem based learning (PBL) are valid, practical and effective on environmental pollution topics. This research is categorized as research and development. The model and procedure of this research apply 4-D (four-D models) that consists of define, design, develop, and disseminate stage. The results of this research show that the biology module that is completed by student worksheet and oriented to the problem based learning (PBL) is effective, it can be seen from the activity, motivation and students’ learning outcomes. It is concluded that the biology module which is completed with student’s worksheet and oriented to the problem based learning (PBL) on the matter pollution is stated very valid, practical and effective.

Abstract

The learning process carried out at school is expected to be able to increase the learning activities and learning outcomes of students. Student biology learning outcomes and activities at SMAN 1 Koto XI Tarusan are still not satisfactory. The methods and strategies used so far have not been able to improve students' learning activities and outcomes. One of the efforts to increase the activities and learning outcomes of students is through STAD type cooperative learning and the internet as a source of teaching materials. This research was conducted in the even semester of Academic Year 2011/2012 in Class X.7 of SMAN 1 Koto XI Tarusan. This research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of four stages: planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The research data were obtained through observation sheets and learning outcomes tests given at the end of the cycle. The results of the analysis of the data cycle I and cycle II showed an increase in student learning activities and learning outcomes. Student learning activities have increased by 8%, and student learning outcomes have increased by 10%. It can be concluded that the use of STAD cooperative learning types and the internet as a source of teaching materials can increase the activity and learning outcomes of students in class X.7 of SMAN 1 Koto XI Tarusan.

Abstract

The average national exam score of biology subject in high school in Tanjungpinang tends to be the lowest among other subjects. It is assumed that the ability of student science literacy also tends to be weak. The role of teacher is very important to improve student’s science literacy ability. Applying various learning strategies to create meaningful learning processes is one of the teacher's role. The strategy is Problem-based Learning (PBL) model. This research was conducted to determine science literacy ability of high school students in Tanjungpinang using PBL learning strategy. Research was conducted in SMA 4 and SMA 6 in Tanjungpinang. It is a quantitative approach with Quasi Experiment. PBL is free variable and science literacy skills as bound variable. Researcher uses tests, observation sheets and interviews as research instruments. Based on the results of this research can be concluded that implementation of PBL gives significant difference for student’s science literacy in tenth grade in SMA 4 and SMA 6.

Abstract

Multiple intelligences are the development of intelligence of the brain or intelligence quotient (IQ), emotional intelligence or emotional quotient (EQ), and spiritual intelligence or Spiritual Quotient (SQ). The intelligence consists of nine levels of intelligence is known as the Multiple Intelligences (MI) which includes: linguistic intelligence, mathematical-logical intelligence, visual spatial intelligence, physical-kinesthetic intelligence, musical intelligence, interpersonal intelligence, intrapersonal intelligence, naturalist intelligence, and existential lntelligence. This theory shows that there is no human activity that uses only one intelligence, but uses all intelligence that exists in humans. Intelligence is a single talent that students use in situations of solving any problem. Every student has a different intelligence. This is because there are several factors that influence it, namely the hereditary factor, interest factor, formation factor, maturity factor, and freedom factor. This research are descriptive study which aims to reveal the level of MI of social sciences and linguistcs student grade X crossing biology interest at SMAN 1V Koto KampungDalam. Results of the study, it was faund that the most dominant intelligence in social science students is naturalist intelligence. In the linguistics scienscestudents, the most dominant intelligence is existential intelligence.
