Abstract

ABSTRACT Intelligence is an ability, with its completeness process, which is capable of handling various problems. Each student has a tendency for intelligence from nine intelligences, namely Linguistic, Mathematical-Logical, Visual-Spatial, Intrapersonal, Naturalist, and Existential. This intelligence is called Multiple Intelligence. This research is a descriptive study, using a correlational study approach between multiple intelligences and student learning outcomes. To find out the relationship between variables, a correlation test was used using the Spearman-Rank correlation. The data obtained were analyzed by normality test. The results obtained in the form of population data are normally distributed. Furthermore, the data analyzed using correlation analysis with the results in the form of correlation variables that have no effect. Based on the results of the study in general it can be concluded that the intelligence of multiple intelligence has a significantly different relationship to learning outcomes. Although with a significantly different level of correlation, but multiple intelligence still has a relationship with learning outcomes, the point is that if the correlation coefficient increases, the learning outcomes of students will be more dominant. The coefficient of determination is 24.85% and 7.99% shows that learning outcomes in science subjects in class VIII 4 and class VIII 5 are influenced by multiple intelligences. Keywords: multiple intelligence, cognitive learning outcomes

Abstract

The problem that still often arises during learning is that the use of learning models by teachers is less varied. The learning strategy used by the teacher is inappropriate. In fact, it is not uncommon to find a learning process that is only teacher-centered. Many students are less daring to ask questions and give opinions and look bored during the learning process. This happens because teachers rarely use learning models, only refer to books, still use the lecture method and use less varied media. This results in students having low interest and learning competencies. This research was conducted at 4th Pariaman Middle School. This study included quasi-experimental research because variables cannot be fully controlled. The population in this study were all VII grade students of 4 Pariaman Junior High School who were registered in the 2018/2019 Academic Year. Sampling uses purposive sampling technique, so class VII5 is chosen as the control class and VII4 as the experimental class. The data of this study include knowledge competencies, attitude competencies, and skills competencies. Based on the results of the competency knowledge data analysis of students, the value of tcount = 2.95> t table = 1.71, in the attitude competency the value of t count = 3.09> t table = 1.71, and in the competency skill the value t = 1.72> t table = 1.71. The conclusion of this study is the application of Cooperative Learning model type Non-Example Example about the material of global warming has a meaningful influence on the competency of knowledge, attitudes, and skills of class VII students of SMP 4 Pariaman.

Abstract

This research is an experimental research which aims to see the influence of Teams Game Tournament (TGT) learning model on the motivation of students on immune system material at SMA Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP academic year 2018/2019. The implementation of this study does not allow researchers to control variables as a whole so that this study belongs to the quasi-experimental category with the design of control group posttest only design. Sampling in this study used saturation sampling technique. The technique of data analysis used statistical tests, namely the t test. The results of statistical tests showed that in a significant term (α = 0.05) the value of tcount> t tableis obtained, which is 3.28 > 1.67, then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. It can be concluded that the motivation of students using the Teams Game Tournament (TGT) learning model is higher than the motivation of students who use conventional learning. It can be interpreted that there is an influence of the Teams Game Tournament (TGT) learning model on the motivation of students on immune system material at SMA Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP.

Abstract

Learning media is one of the determinants of success in the learning process in school. The use of learning media will greatly help the effectiveness of the learning process and add one of the teaching materials that can be used by students in learning. But the role of learning media will not be seen if its use is not in accordance with the learning objectives that have been formulated. Students find it difficult to connect the concepts contained in the material, then students find it difficult to understand the material concepts. The material on biology teaching materials used is like narration, language that is difficult to understand, and the appearance is less attractive. To overcome this problem, the teacher needs to develop teaching materials that are expected to be interesting and easy to understand by students in understanding the concepts contained in biology learning material. Teaching materials developed are Handouts. This research is Development Research conducted at FMIPA UNP and Padang Junior High School 23, using the Plomp development model (2013). The subject of this study consisted of 2 lecturers of Biology Department FMIPA UNP, 1 Biology teacher at SMP 23 Padang, and 29 students in grade VII of SMP 23 Padang. The data in this study are data obtained from the validity test questionnaire and practicality test.
