Abstract

The low science cognitif competency of students is caused by several problem encountered during the learning process, between the learning model that is applied has not involved students actively in the learning process. One of the efforts that is done to increase students' learning competencies in science is to apply the Guided Inquiry learning model assisted by Mind Map. This learning assisted by the Mind Map guides students to be active. This study aims to reveal the influence of the use of the Guided Inquiry learning model assisted by Mind Map to the learning competencies of science students. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 27 Padang. in material of KD 3.7 about Circulatory System. This research is an experimental research using the Randomized Control Group Posttest Only Design. The study population was all grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 27 Padang. Sampling was taken by using purposive sampling technique. The control class used a conventional learning model which is commonly used in the class and experimental class using the Guided Inquiry learning model assisted by Mind Map. The research instrument used was a test of learning outcomes. The results of the t test were known that in the knowledge competency tcount> t table (2.76> 1.67). This showed that the hypothesis was accepted. So, it can be concluded that the Guided Inquiry learning model assisted by Mind Map has a positive effect on students' learning cognitive competencies in science.

Abstract

Success in science education can be seen from the achievement of science literacy learners. The results of the analysis show that the ability of science literacy of learners in Padang City was in low category. This is because the learning process has not been fully support to the development of science literacy skills of learners, especially on the development of science learning assessment instrument. This study aims to produce assessment instruments based scientific literacy on digestive system, additives, and addictive substances for SMP. This research used the research development models by Plomp where consisting of three phase, there are preliminary phase, development or prototype (development or prototyping phase), and assessment phase. The subject were 47 students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang and validator consisted of 3 lecturers of FMIPA. This research resulted in scientific literacy assessment on digestive system, additives, and addictive substances for SMP, those are valid for both logical and empiric, practical in the use for students, high reliability, have good distinguisher, and level of difficulty. Based on logical validity, this scientific literacy assessment declared 80.42% valid by experts. Based on empiric validity, this scientific literacy assessment declared 70.69% valid. Based on practicality, this scientific literacy assessment declared 81,70% by students.

Abstract

The purposes of this research are to produce valid and practice interactive multimedia based on PowerPoint at fluid preasure material and implementation in life for SMP/MTs.students. This research used three stages of 4-D models. The subjects of this research were 23 students class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Pariaman and 2 teachers. The object of this research was interactive multimedia based on PowerPoint at fluid preasure material and implementation in life that validated by 5 validators. Data in this research was primary data collected from validity and practicality questionnaire. The result of validity was 85,94% with criteria valid, practicality by teacher and students are practice and very practice with value 88,46% from teacher and 91,71% from students.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to investigate effect of 5E learning cycle model combined with science project on science-process skills and scientific attitudes. This research was based on problem of SMAN 14 Padang students whose scieence-process skills and scientific attitudes wasn’t optimally developed as a result of teacher-centered learning activity. A quasi-experimental design which was randomized control group posttest only design implemented have participants were recruited from among 3rd grade students of SMAN 14 Padang. The sample of this research had choosen by purposive sampling technique. Results of study reveal that there is significant difference between experimental and control group students’ science-process skills and scientific attitudes scores.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of Project Based Learning on students' critical thinking abilities. The method of this study is a meta-analysis with a sample of 10 journals of education and research theses in national journals and instruments in the form of coding categories. The meta-analysis study shows that the effect of Project Based Learning on students' critical thinking abilities from the subject level of education, Project Based Learning is equally positive for both high school (SMA) and vocational levels (SMK) but is more effectively used by students in high school education. Meanwhile from subject matter subjects, Project Based Learning is more influential digestion material than other material. And from the subject of Media that is used, Project Based Learning has a positive effect when using real or virtual media. Other findings show that Project Based Learning has a high influence on students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Belum terlaksana dengan baik, hal ini disebabkan guru dalam proses pembelajaran masih monoton, metode dan model pembelajaran masih bersifat konvesional. Selain itu, LKPD yang digunakan belum sesuai dengan model pembelajaran yang digunakan guru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menciptakan lembar kegiatan peserta didik (LKPD) berbasis problem solving pada materi bakteri untuk Kelas X SMA/MA. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan untuk menghasilkan LKPD yang valid. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 31 peserta didik kelas XI SMA serta 2 orang dosen dan 2 orang guru sebagai validator.  Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan kuesioner. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan  Objek penelitian ini adalah Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik berbasis Problem Solving pada materi Bakteri untuk Kelas X SMA/MA. Secara keseluruhan didapatkan rata-rata sebesar 88.62% dengan kriteria valid. Hal ini berarti LKPD berbasis problem solving yang dikembangkan sudah dapat digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran. Implikasi penelitian ini diharapkan dapat digunakan pada proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

Portfolio assessment with the dimension of learning approach is an ideal combination to improve mastery concept and habits of mind students. The use of this assessment and approach can fully describe the students abilities during the learnig process. This study aims to determine the effect of using portfolio assessment with the dimension of learning approach on students' mastery of concepts on the excretion system material at the state senior high school in Pekanbaru City. This research is a weak experiment research with pretest posttest group design. The instrument in this study was a matter of conceptual mastery using Marzanos taxonomy. The instrument used was valid and reliable with a value of 0.56. The data were processed descriptively using the N-Gain formula and inferential statistics with one sample t test with a value of 0.31. The results of this study indicate that the students' mastery of concepts after the use of portfolio assessment with the dimension of learning approach increased for W senior high school 0.39 (sufficient); X senior high school 0.54 (sufficient); Y senior high school 0.68 (sufficient) and  Z senior high school0.39 (sufficient) with an average of 0.50 in the sufficient category. After the inferential test was carried out, it was obtained tcount (10.67)> ttable (0.00) so that it could be concluded that the use of portfolio assessment with the dimension of learning approach could significantly influence students' mastery of concepts. Referring to the findings of this study, teachers at the senior high school level, especially in the field of biology, can use portfolio assessment with the dimension of learning approach as a form of innovative assessment in the learning process.

Abstract

Pendidikan sangat berperan penting dalam memfasilitasi siswa dalam memahami konsep dari peristiwa yang belakangan muncul seperti pandemi COVID-19. Peran pendidikan secara penuh adalah dalam menuntun siswa untuk mendapatkan informasi mengenai COVID-19 salah satunya melalui pembelajaran biologi yang memiliki materi relevan dengan COVID-19. Ketersediaan informasi mengenai COVID-19 dan cara menyikapinya ditentukan oleh kemampuan literasi sains dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat tingkat kemampuan literasi sains dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siwa mengenai COVID-19. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif yang dilakukan di SMAN 16 Padang. Hasil peneltian menunjukkan kemampuan literasi sains siswa terhadap COVID-19 berdasarkan materi biologi yang relevan adalah 57,4 dengan kriteria sedang. Sedangkan tingkat keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa terhadap COVID-19 adalah 60.8% dengan kriteria rendah. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kurangnya materi pembelajaran yang mengarahkan dan melatih siswa untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi sains dan keterampilan berpikir kritis, karena kedua kemampuan tersebut sangat dibutuhkan dalam menjaga keselamatan diri menghadapi pandemi. Sangat diperlukan sebuah rancangan untuk mengembangkan materi pembelajaran biologi untuk meningkatkan kedua kemampuan tersebut.

Abstract

Keberadaan lingungan sekitar merupakan sumber belajar yang tidak bisa dipisahkan dari pembelajaran IPA khususnya Biologi. Tardisi rantau larangan Tandikat merupakan wujud kearifan masyarakat setempat mengelola keseimbangan lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan merekonstruksi pengetahuan ilmiah (scientific knowledge) dar tradisi rantau larangan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi dan wawancara. Sumber data yang digunakan yakni tokoh masyarakat, tokoh adat dan masyarakat setempat yang dipilih secara purposive. Data dianalisis melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tradisi rantau larangan masyarakat merupakan bagian dalam sistem pengelolaan sumber daya perairan sungai di kampung Tandikat. Adanya larangan kepada masyarakat untuk tidak menagmbil ikan dan biota sungai lainnya pada rentang waktu tertentu atau 1 tahun. Dilarang menebang pohon pohon besar yang tumbuh di bantaran sungai. Dilarang menyentrum dan meracun ikan pada saat membuka larangan. Penerapan aturan ini memiliki nilai konservasi lingkungan untuk menjaga keseimbangan ekosistem sungai. Terdapat potensi sumber belajar IPA Biologi pada tradisi rantau larangan, yaitu pada konsep pelestarian ekosistem dan pencemaran lingkungan.

Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis pengaruh bahan ajar ekologi berbasis pendekatan STEM terhadap pembelajaran Abad-21. Metode penelitian ini adalah meta-analisis dengan menelaah sumber data yang berasal dari jurnal nasional atau internasional terbitan empat tahun terakhir (2016-2020). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa studi meta-analisis berpengaruh pada bahan ajar ekologi berdasarkan pendekatan STEM berdasarkan tingkat pendidikan, jenis media yang digunakan, dan pendekatan STEM dalam pembelajaran ekologi. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh bahan ajar ekologi berdasarkan pendekatan ilmiah memiliki harga rata-rata lebih tinggi di tingkat SMA dibandingkan dengan sekolah dasar dan menengah pertama. Harga ukuran efek rata-rata untuk tingkat pendidikan menengah atas, menengah pertama dan dasar adalah: 1,63; 1,56; dan 1,19 pada kategori tinggi. Sedangkan dari segi media pembelajaran akan lebih efektif jika diaplikasikan dalam modul, dibandingkan dengan media lain, rata-rata effect size modul, LKS/LKPD, dan bahan ajar masing-masing adalah: 2,05; 1,14; dan 0,62 pada kategori tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil belajar kognitif dan keterampilan siswa, pengaruh harga rata-rata terhadap effect size proses sains, hasil belajar, berpikir kritis, dan pemecahan masalah adalah 1,32; 1,61; 2.32; dan 1.83 dengan kategori tinggi maka diikuti kompetensi siswa dengan memberikan pengaruh pada kategori sedang yaitu: 0,61. Kata Kunci: Bahan Ajar, Pendekatan STEM, Ekologi Abstract: The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of ecology teaching materials based on the STEM approach on 21st-century learning. This research method is a meta-analysis by examining data sources from national or international journals published in the last four years (2016-2020). The results showed that the meta-analysis study affected ecology teaching materials based on the STEM approach based on the level of education, the type of media used, and the STEM approach in ecological learning. The research findings showed that the effect size of ecological teaching materialbased on scientific approach has a higher average prize at senior secondary level compared to primary and junior secondary. The average effect size prices for senior secondary, junior secondary, and primary education levels were: 1.63; 1.56; and 1.19 in the high category. Meanwhile, in terms of learning media, it will be more effective if applied in modules, compared to other media, the average effect size of the module, student worksheet, and teaching materials respectively are: 2.05; 1.14; and 0.62 in the high category. Based on students' cognitive learning outcomes and skills, the effect of the average price on the effect size of the science process, learning outcomes, critical thinking, and problem-solving was 1.32; 1.61; 2.32; and 1.83 with the high category, followed by student competence by giving influence to the medium category, namely: 0.61.
