Abstract

Background – There are pressures experienced by Islamic hospital employees in Indonesia who are exposed to negative workplace gossiping and toxic leadership has an effect on the performance of Islamic hospital employees in Indonesia. These problems can be minimized by applying an Islamic work ethics in order to improve the employees performance of Islamic hospital in Indonesia. Purpose – The purpose of this study was to determine the performance of employees at the Indonesian Islamic Hospital. Design/ Methodology/ Approach – This study uses the COR basis in analyzing phenomena and research findings. The population of this study was medical staff throughout the Indonesian Islamic Hospital. The number of samples was determined using the Isaac equation table so that a total sample of 300 respondents was obtained. Retrieval of data using questionnaires that are distributed online. Measurement data uses answers Strongly Agree, Agree, Netral, Disagree, Strongly Disagree, with a rating scale of 1 to 5 Data processing uses the SMART PLS3 application. Findings – The findings of this study revealed that staff performance at the Indonesian Islamic Hospital is significantly impacted by toxic leadership negative workplace gossiping, and islamic work ethics. This can be seen from the results of the discriminate validity test and the final results of Smart PLS3 data processing. Conclusion – The study's findings are consistent with another study that found that Indonesian Islamic Hospital employees perform better when they adhere to islamic work ethics has a significant positive effect on Employee Performance. Meanwhile, toxic leadership and negative workplace gossiping significant negative effect on employee performance at the Islamic Hospital in Indonesian. Research Implication – The results of this study are expected to be input for managers in Islamic Hospitals in Indonesia, especially knowing the effect of Islamic work ethics, Toxic Leadership, Negative Gossip in the Workplace on employee performance as an intervening variable, becoming learning material and applying knowledge in the field of management, especially in the field of management of human resources and can be an additional reference for further research and as a consideration for Islamic Hospitals in Indonesia which are facing similar problems. Research Limitations – The results of this study can be an opportunity for further research development by focusing on more specific target respondents and adding variables that have a role in Islamic work ethics, toxic leadership, and negative workplace gossiping to improve employee performance at the Indonesian Islamic Hospital.

Abstract

Background - The concept of the Islamic leadership model cannot be separated from the leadership that has been carried out by the Prophets and Messengers of Allah SWT. This leadership model is often referred to as prophetic leadership. Muhammadiyah University Semarang (Unimus) is one of the Muhammadiyah Colleges based on Islamic education that has experienced very rapid progress. This is related to the leadership factor. Aim - Knowing the views and implementation of the prophetic leadership model at the Muhammadiyah University of Semarang Design / methodology / approach - Field research (field research) with qualitative methods. Collecting data with literature study, interviews, observation and documentation. As for data analysis with reduction, presentation and withdrawal of data conclusions with validity techniques using data triangulation. Finding - Unimus leadership in carrying out university development programs, one of which is the midnight prayer movement for the academic community. This program is believed to be an inner and outer endeavor. The view of prophetic leadership is in line with the application of the principles of Good University Governance (GUG), namely Shidiq (Honest), Amanah (Accountable), Tabligh (Transparency) and Fathonah (visionary). the principle of The Right Man in The Right Place. Aspects of liberation regarding work and applying the principles of asah, compassion and care and aspects of transcendence regarding worship activities (Islamic spirit) in Unimus Conclusion - The views and implementation of prophetic leadership have been carried out well within the Unimus academic community. The implementation of 3 aspects, namely the aspects of humanization, liberation and transcendence are defined as work, work and worship. Research Implications - This research is an overview of prophetic leadership that has been carried out and can be used as a reference in the development of other tertiary institutions. Limitations - The scope of this research is still limited to Unimus where the number of PTM/A in Indonesia is 172 and it is still qualitative in nature so it needs to be on a larger scale and in the form of quantitative research.

Abstract

Background – Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, human travel was severely restricted and reliant on digital technology. Tourism is one of the businesses that has been obliged to adapt to digitalization in order to keep its primary source of income from travelers. The present transition to digital tourism is taking the shape of virtual tours or long-distance interactive tours, such as those seen in museums. To reach more tourists, some museums in Indonesia already entered the digitization stage by offering virtual tours and edutainment. Aim – This study intends to provide emphasis on the advantages and disadvantages of disruptive innovation in the sense of digitization in the tourism industry, particularly museums. Design / Methodology / Approach – An detailed review of existing literature regarding digital technology, disruptive digital innovation, smartphone technology, social media, internet, and mobile applications from the perspective of museum tourism was used. Findings – Digital museums provide a new perspective to enjoy their collections and as a diversification strategy that has the potential to bring in tourists virtually. Curators should develop websites using communication strategies that relate to their collection and focus on their visitor profile. On the other hand, there is a risk that there is a conservative opinion that digitization will reduce the integrity of physical artwork and an unstable digital ecosystem. Conclusion - The digitization and publication of collections online has the potential to enable access to content. It is projected that disruptive innovation in the form of changing the museum's business model will provide financial benefits and become a business diversification that can support the sustainability of the museum itself in the future. Research implication – In the field of management, disruptive innovation in the form of changing the museum's business model will provide financial benefits and become a business diversification that can support the sustainability of the museum itself in the future. In the field of architecture, the preservation of cultural heritage objects through digitization guarantees digital archives and provides wider educational opportunities virtually. Research Limitations – The breadth of coverage regarding the digitization of museums and also the many things that still need to be done in order to implement it perfectly, makes research on digitization will continue to be needed. Future studies can complement and continue to update research results so that museums can also continue to evolve.

Abstract

Background – The relationship between work and personal life has been the subject of research of interest to academics and practitioners at the moment. Job conditions, work patterns, and demands have been drivers of reform, changes in demographic composition, and labor market evolution. The number of working hours, methods of regulating working hours, as well as the availability of rest periods significantly affect the quality of work and workers' lives. The phenomenon of Great Resignation has also increased after the Covid-19 pandemic as an indication that the issue of work-life balance is the main discussion of social and labor market problems. Environmental adjustments and flexibility of working hours are considered capable of driving current business performance . Aim – The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of quality of work life and work-life balance on employee performance with job satisfaction as a moderation variable. Design/ Methodology/ Approach – This research uses a quantitative approach with survey methods to obtain data from respondents. Findings – The results of this research show that the quality of work life and work-life balance have a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction and employee performance. While the direct relationship between job satisfaction and job performance did not have a significant effect, so the role of mediating variables of job satisfaction did not occur. These results show that employees do not enjoy good job satisfaction, but the impact does not motivate employees to contribute more to their work. This is very bad because employees are not motivated to develop and maximize work performance. The results of this study are expected to provide input for companies to improve the quality of work life and work-life balance of employees so as to improve the work performance of employees. Its employees will therefore be compressed on the company’s overall productivity. Conclusion – Stakeholders must pay attention to quality of work life and work-life balance to maintain job satisfaction and ultimately promote sustainable employee performance. Research Implications – This research recommends developing a conceptual framework by adding stress, burnout, remuneration, and work from home factors in the digital age. Limitations of Research – This research is only limited to the point of view of the woman, not to include the point of view of the organization.

Abstract

Latar Belakang - Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3) adalah suatu program yang dibuat bagi pekerja maupun pengusaha sebagai sebuah bentuk pencegahan atas timbulnya kecelakaan kerja dan penyakit akibat hubungan kerja yang mungkin terjadi pada pekerja di dalam lingkungan kerja. Terwujudnya kinerja yang baik bergantung pada kemampuan manajemen untuk menjalankan fungsi-fungsi manajemen. Tujuan - Mengetahui pelaksanaan total quality manajemen (TQM), lingkungan kerja, dan pengaruh total quality management terhadap penerapan K3 dengan menempatkan lingkungan kerja sebagai mediasi. Desain / metodologi / pendekatan - Penelitian ini dilakukan di Proyek PT. Paku Jaya dengan menggunakan metode kuantitatif dan dianalisis menggunakan SmartPLS. Data diperoleh melalui penyebaran kuesioner kepada 70 pekerja pada proyek PT. Paku Jaya. Temuan – Total Quality Management secara langsung berpengaruh signifikan terhadap Lingkungan Kerja namun secara langsung berpengaruh tidak signifikan terhadap penerapan K3. Lingkungan Kerja secara langsung berpengaruh signifikan terhadap penerapan K3 dan juga mampu menjadi mediasi dalam pengaruh tidak langsung antara Total Quality Management terhadap penerapan K3 sehingga Total Quality Management secara tidak langsung berpengaruh signifikan terhadap penerapan K3 dengan Lingkungan kerja sebagai mediasi. Implikasi Penelitian - PT. Paku Jaya agar memperhatikan lingkungan kerja saat melaksanakan perkerjaan yang menjadikan pekerja nyaman dan aman saat bekerja supaya berdampak positif dalam penyelesaian proyek yang ditentukan sesuai dengan target yang sudah ditetapkan sehingga menjadikan suatu organisasi dapat bergerak secara terarah dalam upaya mencapai tujuan yang telah ditetapkan. Batasan Penelitian - Penelitian ini hanya melibatkan pekerja di PT. Paku Jaya sehingga peneliti selanjutnya agar melakukan penelitian serupa di wilayah yang lebih luas lagi untuk hasil yang lebih komprehensif.

Abstract

Background – In service sector, there is always a possibility for customers to selectively choose their desired service that will meet their satisfaction. Organizations are thus required to identify the factors that determine customer satisfaction. Aim – This study aims to investigate the mediating effect of customer value on the relationship between service quality and customer satisfaction at the library of Widyatama University, Bandung, Indonesia. Design/ Methodology/ Approach – Using quantitative approach, this study distributed 800 questionnaires to respondents, and receive 713 questionnaires that can be used for further analysis. The data analysis is carried out using structural equation modeling (SEM) with AMOS. Findings – This study shows that customer value has no effect on satisfaction, meaning that customer value does not play a role in mediating the relationship between service quality and satisfaction. Only two variables based on dimensions of Service Quality Analysis (SERVQUAL) have an effect on other variables, namely assurance and empathy. Conclusion - Customer value and satisfaction for library users at Widyatama University are two different things that have no relationship or connection at all. The service quality variable that affects customer value is assurance, while the variable that affects satisfaction is empathy. Research implication – There are two things that must be considered by the library manager, namely the assurance perceived by library users, and the empathy that the library’s managers and staff must have, especially as the providers of library service. Limitations – This research was only conducted in one university library, so the results about the condition of the library or services cannot be generalized. It also only utilizes the two-dimensional model of SERVQUAL, thus future research are required to address and develop this topic.

Abstract

Background – Covid-19 Pandemic has caused changes in budget allocation and declining in local government revenue which may affect its accountability performance. Aim – The purpose of this study is to empirically test whether during covid-19 pandemic the clarity of budget targets, accounting controls, reporting systems, and human resources can improve the performance accountability of government agencies in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY). Design / methodology / approach – ). This research uses survey questionnaire. The sample in this study were 89 respondents consisting of the Head of Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD), Treasurer of OPD, and Secretary of OPD. The data collection technique in this study used questionnaire with purposive sampling technique. The data analysis technique is based on statistical multiple linier regression. Findings – Based on the variables tested in order to obtain significance, the results obtained were 2 of them had significance while the other 2 had no significance. Conclusion - The variables of clarity of budget targets and quality of human resources had a significant and positive effect on government agency performance accountability during the COVID-19 pandemic, while accounting control and reporting system variables had no significant and positive effect on government agency performance accountability. Research implication – This research implies that local governments need to ensure clarity of budget targets and the quality of human resources in order to improve their accountability performance especially during crisis. Limitations – This study is limited to the Special Region of Yogyakarta. For greater validity, future study needs to extend the research scope to national area.

Abstract

Background – PT. Hakaaston has acquired three subsidiaries, namely PT. Bhirawa Steel, PT. Semen Indogreen Sentosa and PT. Catur Armindo Putra, which began in 2019. The acquisitions are generally expected to bring benefits to the acquiring company. However, after three years of implementing the acquisition, there has been no significant change, raising the question of whether the conducted acquisition that had been carried out was based on the right strategy and careful considerations. Aim – This study aims to obtain the evidence regarding the effects of the acquisition conducted by PT. Hakaaston. Design / Methodology / Approach – Researchers conducted an in-depth analysis of the condition using a mixed method approach to determine whether the acquisition that has been carried out could lead to financial synergies or operational synergies. The research process divided into several steps, the first step involved quantitative research, where the researcher conducted the statistical tests on the ratio of the company's financial reports of 2019-2022 which continued into the next step which involved qualitative in the form of in-depth analysis through interviews with informants. The results of statistical tests and interviews are integrated to allow the researcher to conclude whether synergy has been achieved from the acquisition. Findings – The empirical findings based on post-acquisition financial statement report found that 2 out of 3 subsidiary companies experienced financial improvements while the holding company, as the acquirer, experienced a decline subsequent to the company’s acquisition. The result of the analysis interview with the informants explained that the conducted acquisition focus is not only on financial synergies but also on operational synergies in which the company played a role in supporting the construction of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road. Conclusion - The initial quantitative analysis found that there is no significant financial or operational synergy among the subsidiary companies of PT. Hakaaston, meanwhile the qualitative analysis found that in terms of operational synergy, according to the informants from both the subsidiary companies and the holding company, operational synergy has been achieved. Research implication – The findings of this study can serve as the basis for further research on Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) policies which are not only beneficial for one party but more towards economic benefits. In addition, the research results can be used as a consideration in making decisions regarding future Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) plans for companies to make them more effective. Research Limitations – The limitation of this study is the relatively small-time frame of the research process, as the acquisition only took place in 2019. Therefore, future research can consider using a longer time frame to examine the post-acquisition period.

Abstract

Background - Students are part of the community who are studying higher education and are expected to be an example for other people in investing, the investment level is still low, it is necessary to improve so that the investment interest of the community, including students, can increase in the future. Aim - The purpose of this study was to determine whether the perception of return and risk as well as the mediation of investment knowledge can influence students' investment interest. Design / methodology / approach - The research approach is quantitative and data is obtained from distributing questionnaires which are then processed using data analysis techniques using the SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) model using the SmartPLS 3.0 (Partial Least Square) program. Findings - Based on the results of the analysis it is proven that students' perceptions of returns and investment risks have an effect on investment intentions. Investment knowledge has a significant effect on investment knowledge, this empirical result means that the higher students understand returns and risks, and know about investment, the higher the interest in investing in students. Student investment knowledge is proven to be able to mediate the effect of perceived returns and investment risks on investment intentions. Proven student investment knowledge will have an indirect impact on student investment interest. Conclusion - The results of this study indicate that student knowledge is one of the most important factors to increase interest in investing. The earlier we invest, the better prepared we are to face the challenges and risks that may arise in the future. Research implications - Investment is something that students need to study in order to know the right investment and provide long-term benefits. Basically, people who invest are a sign that the person has prepared himself to face the changing economy of a country, so that by preparing himself to face things that are not desirable in the future, especially related to the economy. This research also contributes to science, especially financial management, the results of this study provide a perspective where investment interest is not focused on returns and risks, but requires knowledge about investment. Research Limitations - This research has limitations, namely the population and sample are only focused on UMG 2019 management study program students and cannot be averaged with other objects, future researchers are expected to expand the sample with a wide coverage so that this research can be applied in general.

Abstract

Background – Companies that pay attention to the work-life balance of employees will improve performance and cause organizational citizenship behavior. Work-life balance and organizational citizenship behavior of employee can one of factors to impact their performance. So, its can impact to corporate image in society. Aim – This study aims to determine the influence of work - life balance and organizational citizenship behavior on employee performance, the influence of organizational citizenship behavior on employee performance, and the influence of work-life balance on employee performance of Bank Jatim Madiun Branch Office through organizational citizenship behavior as a mediating variable Design / methodology / approach – The research population is all employees of the Bank Jatim Madiun Branch Office in 2022, totaling 141 people. Sample of 59 people was obtained which was determined by simple random sampling technique. The research instrument used a questionnaire. The data analysis technique uses path analysis method with SmartPLS version 3.0 software. Findings – The results showed: 1) Work-life balance affects the performance of employees of Bank Jatim Madiun Branch Office, 2) Work-life balance affects organizational citizenship behavior of employees of Bank Jatim Madiun Branch Office, 3) Organizational citizenship behavior affects the performance of employees of Bank Jatim Office Madiun Branch, 4) Work-life balance affects the performance of Bank Jatim Madiun Branch Office employees through organizational citizenship behavior as a mediating variable. Conclusion - The test variables in this article have a significant influence and can explain these conditions in the internal environment of the Bank Jatim Madiun Branch Office. Research implication – This research add knowledge about factors of employee performance. So, this result can reference for entrepreneur to more pay attention their employee, especially work-life balance and organizational citizenship behavior of employee. Both of them can concerned to increasing and optimizing performance of employee continually. Limitations – This research only examine about work-life balance, organizational citizenship, and employee performance in Bank Jatim Madiun Branch Office.
