Abstract

The phenomenon of a high number of factory workers is now a trend that offers an instant way to secure a job, including in the Boyolali district. Becoming a worker, especially as a laborer, certainly has its challenges for the perpetrators. Many factors influence a laborer's work performance, one of which is the support of their superiors. The purpose of this study is to analyze the variables examined, including family-supportive supervisor behavior, work performance, and work-life balance. The sample in this study was factory workers who worked in the Boyolali district for a minimum of 3 (three) months. The population in this study is not definitively known. The final number of respondents obtained was 112, which were then processed using the Non-Probability sampling quantitative research method with a purposive sampling technique. The data collection method was through the distribution of questionnaires. The scale used was the Likert scale. The data were processed using the SEM-PLS analysis tool within the structural equation modeling (SEM) framework. The results of this study revealed that family-supportive supervisor behavior is associated with a 0.195 effect on work performance. Work-life balance has a significant effect on work performance, with a correlation coefficient of 0.415. Family supportive supervisor behavior is stated to affect the work-life balance of 0.760. Work-life balance significantly mediates the effect of family supportive supervisor behavior on work performance.

Abstract

This study rigorously examines the influence of Financial Performance and Macroeconomic Factors on the financing risk associated with Islamic banks within the ASEAN region. The analysis utilizes panel data collected from five countries—Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Thailand, and the Philippines—spanning the period from 2010 to 2019. A dynamic panel regression methodology, specifically the Arellano-Bond Generalized Method of Moments (GMM), is employed for this purpose. The findings indicate that Liquidity Risk (LRISK), Profitability (ROE), and Good Governance (GGV) significantly exacerbate financing risk, whereas the Capital Ratio (CAR) is found to significantly mitigate it. Conversely, Economic Growth (GDP) does not demonstrate a significant effect. Furthermore, financing risk is affected by its value in the preceding period (RISKt-1), underscoring its dynamic nature. These results highlight the crucial role of effective internal bank management in alleviating financing risks through enhanced capital adequacy, judicious liquidity management, and the implementation of sound governance practices. This study endeavors to contribute to the advancement of risk management strategies for Islamic banks in the ASEAN region.

Abstract

This study conducts a systematic literature review to explore the key factors influencing Muslim consumers’ purchase intentions toward halal food products manufactured by non-Muslim producers. A total of 42 empirical articles published between 2012 and 2024 were selected using PRISMA guidelines, drawn from databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, Emerald Insight, and ScienceDirect. Thematic analysis reveals five dominant factors: (1) perceptions of halalness and certification, (2) halal awareness and religiosity, (3) marketing strategies and brand image, (4) consumer trust in non-Muslim producers, and (5) socio-demographic variables as moderating elements. Findings show that while religiosity and halal awareness significantly shape intentions, trust in certification bodies and production transparency are critical in mitigating skepticism toward non-Muslim producers. Theoretically, this review extends the Theory of Planned Behavior by integrating context-specific variables, such as trust and religiosity, in the context of halal consumption. Practically, it offers strategic insights for non-Muslim companies entering the halal market, emphasizing the importance of segmentation, transparent communication, and collaboration with local Islamic institutions. Limitations and future research directions are also discussed, including the need for cross-cultural comparisons and longitudinal studies.

Abstract

Customer welfare is the primary goal of Islamic social finance, making its improvement a key concern. This study examines the impact of infaq fund distribution through the Qardh contract by Bank Infaq Masjid Raya Bintaro Jaya on customer welfare. The main variables include infaq fund distribution, tabarru’ funds as ta’awun funds to address payment defaults and risk mitigation strategies. The research employs a quantitative method using SEM-PLS analysis, complemented by interviews with the bank’s management. The findings indicate that although the contribution of infaq fund distribution to societal welfare is structurally low, effective management of tabarru’ funds and risk mitigation strategies can enhance the well-being of beneficiaries. Therefore, it is recommended that Bank Infaq enhance Sharia financial literacy among its customers to maximize the positive impact of the Qardh financing program.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of knowledge, skills, and attitudes on career development opportunities in the workplace.  In the era of globalization and increasingly fierce business competition, a deep understanding of the factors influencing career development becomes crucial for individuals and organizations. This research aims to explore the impact of knowledge, attitudes, and skills on the career development opportunities of working master's degree students in management at Universitas Sangga Buana YPKP Bandung.  The method used is quantitative, with a sample of 65 people selected through a non-probability purposive sampling technique.  Data were collected through a Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis techniques with the help of SPSS software. The analysis results show that knowledge, attitude, and skills significantly impact career development opportunities in the workplace.  This indicates that these variables strongly influence career development opportunities in the workplace.  Meanwhile, other variables are influenced by factors not studied in this research.  The higher a person's knowledge, skills, and attitudes, the greater the opportunities for career development in the workplace. This research provides new insights into the importance of knowledge and skills in enhancing career development opportunities in the workplace.  Attitude, although influential, requires a more in-depth approach to understand its impact.  The practical implication of these findings is the importance of training and development programs that focus on enhancing employees' knowledge and skills to support their career development.

Abstract

Islamic banking has experienced a surge in financial growth in the last decade. Global economic challenges have encouraged many conventional banks to transform into sharia banks. Sharia banking can increase its operational efficiency by applying debt and equity financing methods by trade-off theory. This research investigates the effect of capital structure as measured by the debt-to-asset ratio (DAR) and debt-to-equity ratio (DER) on the financial performance of Sharia Commercial Banks as measured by return on assets (ROA) and return on equity (ROE). This research is quantitative with multiple linear regression analysis techniques. The data source comes from OJK Sharia Banking Statistics for 2017-2021. This study shows that DAR and DER have a significant effect on ROA. Apart from that, DAR has a substantial impact on ROE. However, this study indicates that DER does not significantly affect ROE.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe implementation of lockdown in 2020 as a response to COVID-19 has led to significant behavioral changes, pushing society to adapt to online transactions. This research aims to analyze the influencing factors such as e-trust, e-wom, e-servqual, and celebrity endorsers on online purchase decisions, as well as examine the moderating effect of celebrity endorsers on these decisions. The research methodology used is quantitative with stratified sampling techniques, employing the Structural Equation Model Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) with WarpPLS 8.0 software. The results of the study indicate that e-trust and e-WOM have a positive and significant impact on online purchase decisions, while e-service quality does not have a significant influence. Another finding is that celebrity endorsers can moderate e-trust, strengthen consumer trust in online transactions, and impact purchase decisions. However, celebrity endorsers are not effective in moderating e-WOM and e-service quality in online purchase decisions. In this context, e-trust, e-WOM, and celebrity endorsers play crucial roles in influencing online purchase decisions, in line with the Theory of Reasoned Action. The practical implications of this research emphasize the importance of building consumer trust in online transactions and managing the use of celebrity endorsers wisely to enhance purchase decisions. E-commerce companies and online platforms need to provide high-quality services to strengthen consumer trust. Moreover, the role of e-WOM should also be considered to influence purchase decisions and improve online service quality according to consumer expectations. The policy recommendations resulting from this research highlight the need for companies to focus on managing consumer trust and utilizing celebrity endorsers wisely to enhance sustainable online shopping.
