Abstract

This research aims to explore and analyze the use of film media in increasing students' understanding of history at SMA Negeri 1 Medan. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. This research involves direct observation, interviews, and document analysis to gain an in-depth understanding of how the film medium is used and its impact on student understanding. Research findings show that the use of film media can increase student engagement in history learning, relive historical context, and facilitate understanding of complex concepts. The implication of this research is the importance of considering the use of film media as an effective learning tool in the context of history learning in high schools. The importance of developing students' media literacy is also highlighted in this research. Teachers need to provide systematic teaching on how to analyze, evaluate and understand messages conveyed through film media so that students can become intelligent and critical media consumers. Apart from that, collaboration between teachers, students, parents and the community is also important in supporting the use of film media in history learning. By involving all relevant parties, the use of film media can become an integral part of the school curriculum and make a significant contribution to achieving national education goals. Overall, this research confirms that the use of film media is a potential tool for increasing students' understanding of learning history at SMA Negeri 1 Medan. However, its use needs to be integrated with a holistic approach, paying attention to aspects of media literacy, fair representation and collaboration between stakeholders. In this way, a richer, more relevant and meaningful learning experience can be created for students to understand their historical heritage.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of the development of the role of women in the industrial revolution sector. Although the role of women has a huge impact in Indonesia, there are still various challenges that must be faced in strengthening the potential role of women in the Industrial Revolution era. This research method uses a case study with a qualitative approach. This research uses purposive sampling method and data collection techniques such as in-depth interviews with resource persons. The results in this study show that nowadays there have been many considerable changes in work activities, especially for productive work in addition to reproductive/domestic work. Women have been involved in many productive jobs or work for a living. However, women's involvement in income-generating work activities still appears to be closely related to the existing employment structure in society. As in production, there are generally different assessments of men's work and women's work, especially with regard to technology. Since technology is often patriarchal, men tend to have more access to it than women. However, there has been a shift in work roles from women doing reproductive work to productive work. Women are starting to do more agricultural work, large and small industries and various fields of development that produce economic value.

This research aims to find out the thoughts of one of the intellectual figures and cultural activists from North Sumatra, namely: Tengku Lukman Sinar Basarshah II, Malay Historian and Culturalist. These are the two identities attached to Tengku Luckman Sinar, SH, Sultan of Traditional Affairs of the Malay Sultanate of Serdang State who holds the title Tuanku Luckman Sinar Basarshah II, SH These two identities are very clearly visible in his various writings, thoughts and activities. So it is appropriate that a series of achievements and various awards fill the pages of his life story. This research uses qualitative methods. Neuman (2000) wrote that the qualitative research process begins with topic selection. After the topic has been narrowed down, it is continued by examining the topic in scientific books or journals, known as literature or library research. Reading results from scientific books and journals will provide a clearer picture of how the topic was discussed and understood by previous writers or researchers. Contemplating Tuanku Luckman Sinar Basarshah II's thoughts is a reflection on the existence of Malay Culture itself. Going through various activities, including cultural themes, academics (teaching lectures), and writing, is an illustration of the greatness of his thinking. When Tuanku Luckman Sinar Basarshah II rose to become the Traditional Head of the Serdang Sultanate, attention and thought about Malay Arts was still maintained. In fact, his attention to the field of Malay Arts was also developed to a broader level, namely Malay Culture. The traditional institution finally became a forum for Tuanku Luckman to ensure that the existence of Malay culture was maintained. At its peak, Tuanku Luckman Sinar Basarshah II played the role of gatekeeper of Malay culture from foreign cultural invasions that came and went.

Abstract

Rice farmers who have accepted the era of modernization easily adapt to technological sophistication because they tend to be faster and more precise. Technology in the form of environmentally friendly agricultural tools can increase farmer productivity so that they produce quality and abundant harvests in a short time. Although the development of agricultural technology often flaps its expansion, the increasingly rapid modernization of agriculture, farmers in Gampong Blang Ara Keude are in fact very easy to adapt to existing technology without having to socialize with the existence of technological modernization. The purpose of the researcher taking the title above is to develop farmers in Gampong Blang Ara Keude, Nagan Raya Regency. The results of this study indicate that farmers in Gampong Blang Ara Keude, Nagan Raya Regency are starting to get used to using technology in agricultural activities. Such as using organic fertilizers, tractors, reapers, milling machines, and others. However, for marketing, they still use traditional methods, namely by distributing them to the nearest staple food agent outlets. In fact, even though rice farmers in Gampong Blang Ara Keude easily accept technological modernization, not all harvests necessarily bring maximum results. They even said that this crop failure was a disaster from Allah SWT, the Almighty God, because the local residents were not grateful enough to the Creator.
