Abstract

This community service program is motivated by the low level of literacy skills of the Indonesian people. This fact proves that the literacy value of Indonesian people reading is still very low. According to TBM West Java data in 2017, the Tasikmalaya region in the districts and cities has more than ten scattered community reading parks, but most have not been maximally utilized by the surrounding community, especially for the availability of English books. Seeing the above phenomenon, it is necessary to have a solution in the community. This community service program offers a language literacy program using the Extensive Reading method as an effort to foster community literacy. The main reason for this literacy program is that literacy is the right of everyone and is the basis for learning throughout time. This program combines foreign language learning with community literacy programs. This activity involved TBM managers and children as participants in the activity. The Extensive Reading method is used in community service programs to foster community literacy. The results of these community service activities include a literacy program that introduces extensive reading methods in improving integrated and effective English language skills to help equalize education through integrated reading services in Nagarasari, Tasikmalaya city

Abstract

Old age is a natural process experienced by both men and women who have reached the age of 60 years and over. Aging means that you have experienced a process of decline both physically and mentally. The elderly can still be productive when they have a healthy and fit body. Health can be maintained through a balanced nutritional intake and through physical activities such as gymnastics. Efforts to prevent disease in the elderly can be carried out through health checks. As for the purpose of this activity, the elderly are expected to be able to live healthy and fit to carry out their daily life. Methods: carry out elderly exercise together followed by health education and blood pressure checks for elderly mothers and fathers at the Sumarah Sukomoro Nursing Home, totaling 31 people. The results of blood pressure measurement showed that 33.3% had pre-hypertension (BP 120-139mmHg), 20% had grade 1 hypertension (140-159 mmHg), and 13.3% had grade 2 hypertension (≥160 mmHg).

Abstract

The type of program of activities in this service is Community Empowerment Through Processing Plastic Waste into Premium and Alternative Solar in Buluagung Village, Siliragung District, Banyuwangi Regency, namely to process plastic waste processed into fuel oil by using a plastic catalyst machine as a village innovation, because the BUMDes "Panji Samudera "Has been facilitated by the village with a machine that can process plastic waste into fuel oil. Conclusions in this empowerment 1) The need to optimize community participation in utilizing plastic waste processing equipment into fuel oil (BBM) in Buluagung Village so that by utilizing plastic waste in addition to reducing plastic waste but also can bring a source of income for the surrounding community. 2) The need for refreshment in the BUMDES organizational structure 'Panji Samudera', due to lack of coordination and synchronization of communication with the community, causing the underutilization of the use of existing plastic catalyst machines.

Abstract

This activities starts from the PIK R group which did not create activities mainly related to life skills for economic preparation for adolescents in planning a happy and prosperous family life. Lack of knowledge, attitudes, behavior of adolescents about life skills (English language ability) to be practiced so that growth and development to the fullest in order to realize the generation of planning. the low knowledge of family life readiness especially economic readiness, the low Life Skill especially English language skills is an important issue being faced. The solution offered from these problems is continuous training on Life Skills and English communication skills for PIK R students. The method used is the silent way, with consonant vocal recitation correctly. The results of this devotion were very high enthusiasm from the participants with their enthusiasm for learning, designing creativity and becoming a problem solver for their educational problems. Characterized by the increased ability of English communication, especially in terms of vocabularies about economic learning.

Abstract

It’s expected that the PKK Citra Villa Women's Organization will empower womento participate in the development of Bambu Apus Village, Pamulang, South Tangerang. In its implementation, PKK Citra Villa Women's Organization often faces obstacles when it comes to making an accountability report in the form of monthly and annual financial reports. Therefore, the community service activities aim to transfer knowledge and techniques for making simple financial statements for PKK Citra Villa, so PKK Citra Villa Women's Organization can be independent in making her financial statements. As for the method carried out in the form of material delivery and practice / application of financial reporting. Results The activity showed that before the PKM implementation the PKK Citra Villa Women's Organization were lacking master about simple financial reports, but after the implementation of the activity known to the PKK Citra Villa Women's Organization is quite expert and can make simple financial reports. Activities PKM indirectly plays a positive role in increasing the knowledge of participants and the skills of participants in making simple financial reports.

Abstract

The activity at the "Pangeran Antasari Balikpapan" Vocational School has several objectives: improving teacher competency by training and testing directly on Arduino-based practice modules that have multi-input and multi-output peripherals that have extensive functions for applications in automatic control systems. Analysis and discussion to partners there are 2 main problems, the problem of automation technology and teacher competence. The problem of automation technology is solved by training practice modules that are useful as learning media in the field of automatic control systems and can be implemented for various applications. The problem of teacher competence with technology updates is solved by the development of learning media so that the teacher is able to create and innovate in the control system. The method used in this activity is discussion, explanation, demonstration, practice, and observation.

Abstract

The spread of covid-19 in Indonesia has a huge impact in the world of education. Responding to the outbreak of the Covid-19, the government has implemented a Distance Education for education sector. The impact of the problem is experienced by many classroom teachers in Banjarbaru City, among them 1). There are still many teachers who have minimal knowledge related to learning with distance education systems, 2), There are still low skills of teachers in the creation of IT-based learning media. To solve the problem there are several solutions that the advocates offer such as 1), Providing knowledge about managing learning with distance education systems. 2). Providing knowledge about the types media platforms for distance education. 3). Providing training on making learning videos based on android smartphones through kinemaster application. Based on the results of the training on making learning videos based on android smartphones through kinemaster applications in KKG teachers of Pangeran Antasari Group class of Banjarbaru City that is well carried out, it can be concluded that the training activities are able to provide new knowledge and skills for KKG teachers in Group class of Pangeran Antasari banjarbaru city in the creation of smartphone-based learning videos through kinemaster application.

Abstract

The activity service aims to increase the productivity of the "Bolo Dewo". Partners located in the Muneng Hamlet RT. 02 RW. 03 and RT. 04 RW. 03, Mayangan Village, Gumukman District, Jember Regency, East Java. They have a papaya-based food processing business, which is abundant in the village. The implementation team offers a solution to solve the Partner's problem, thereby affecting the increase in family income in particular and the village economy in general. The solution was, the Implementation Team bought a set of tools in the form of a cup sealer machine, which could be used to package the Candied Carica Papaya. The results of the implementation of this service are: 1) diversifying papaya processed products into Candied Carica Papaya, which is a fresh drink in a package that many children like to remember sweet, sour, and fresh when consumed in cold conditions; 2) provide a set of tools in the form of a cup sealer used to package drinks in a cup; 3) screen printing design /branding cup cover permanently; 4) help from the marketing aspect by loading on youtube, so that the product is known to many people.

Abstract

Plate stone handicraft products are one of the leading commodities and also potential for Sukowiryo Village, Jelbuk District, Jember Regency. Apart from being a superior commodity and village potential, plate stone handicraft products are also an export commodity. However, most of the plate stone handicraft production process in Sukowiryo Village still uses simple tools and manual processes. Therefore, the production process takes a longer time and the quality of the production is not standardized. The purpose of this PPK service activity is to provide real solutions to problems in the production process that connect by partners so that partners can increase skill productivity so that partners can carry out efficiency and can increase their production. The results of the KDP service activities were; 1) provide assistance to increase Skill Productivity by providing assistance with plate stone cutting machines according to partner needs. Build sewer and air reservoirs, and increase the partner's electric power to operate the plate stone cutting machine. 2) Partners can make time efficiency in the production process. 3) Partners can increase their productivity, 4) Partners can add 1 type of product diversification. 5) Carry out monitoring and evaluation after the program is implemented

Abstract

News hoaks rife produced and spread on social media among young people. The news can trigger disputes and threaten social disintegration. The existence of this phenomenon is due to inaccurate people sorting out news that is shared on social media. Based on the above phenomenon community service aims (1) to socialize news sorting strategies: hoaks, (2) to socialize politeness in spreading news on social media, and (3) to train young people in writing news on social media. These community service activities are carried out in Menjing Village, Jenawi District, Karanganyar Regency. Participants in this community service are members of Karangtaruna Menjing Village, Jenawi District, Karanganyar Regency. The strategy in community service is through workshops and hands-on practice.
