Abstract

Based on data obtained from RSIA Masyita, in 2020 there were 33 mothers who gave birth. The aim of this research is to determine the factors associated with the incidence of Low Birth Weight Infants at RSIA Masyita Makassar 2022. This research uses analytical methods using a Cross Sectional Study approach to determine the factors associated with the incidence of Low Birth Weight Infants at RSIA Masyita Makassar with a total population of 412 people and a total sample of 203 people using the Simple Random Sampling technique. The results of statistical tests using Chi-Square were obtained for the variable maternal age, the value P = 0.000 < α = 0.050, meaning that there is a relationship between maternal age and the incidence of LBW. For the parity variable, the value of P = 0.001 <α = 0.050 means that there is a relationship between parity and the incidence of LBW. For the variable spacing of maternal pregnancies, the value of P = 0.000 < α = 0.050 means that there is a relationship between the spacing of pregnancies and the incidence of LBW. For the variable twin pregnancy, the value of P = 0.000 < α = 0.050 means that there is no relationship between twin pregnancy and the incidence of LBW. The conclusion of the four variables namely maternal age, parity, pregnancy spacing, and multiple pregnancies are related to the incidence of LBW at RSIA Masyita Makassar. Abstract

Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) is one of the cardiac diseases that can arise when blood flow in the coronary artery is restricted, depriving the heart muscle of oxygen. Anxiety is a common mental health problem in Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) patients. One of the many treatments for anxiety that is accessible is using educational programs. Prevention, medical care, and lifestyle modifications like nutrition, stress reduction, exercise, and quitting smoking are all covered in the health education offered. This study aims to determine whether providing educational programs has an effect on individuals with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) in terms of anxiety. With a sample size of 44 participants, both intervention and control groups received education in the form of a 5-minute video as part of the study's Quasy Experimental Nonequivalent Control Group research design. The State Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), a questionnaire comprising 40 statement questions, was the instrument employed in this investigation. The findings of this study indicate that there is an impact of educational programs on anxiety in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) patients (P=0.042 0.05).

Abstract

Hypoglycemia is a more dangerous problem for people with diabetes mellitus if it is not detected or prevented by the sufferer. Health education based on cognitive theory is an alternative to strengthen the self-efficacy of DM sufferers to increase knowledge of hypoglycemia prevention. This study aims to determine the effect of cognitive theory with a self-efficacy approach to increasing knowledge about the prevention of hypoglycemia in patients with diabetes mellitus. This research method is Quasi Experiment with one group pre test post test design. The number of samples for this research was 55 people using purposive sampling. The intervention in this research is health education with a social cognitive theory approach. The results of this study showed that there were differences in the results of the pre-test and post-test of knowledge about preventing hypoglycemia in 55 respondents with a mean (pre-test 17.82 and post-test 22.15). The results of the t test show the sig. p 0.00< 0.05. The conclusion is that there is an influence of cognitive theory with a self-efficacy approach to increasing knowledge about the prevention of hypoglycemia in patients with diabetes mellitus. The best suggestion for future research is the need for patient self-efficacy control to increase patient knowledge on the prevention of hypoglycemia

Abstract

Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) is a condition caused by a lack of energy and protein intake over a long period of time. Globally, the prevalence of CED in pregnant women reaches 35-37%. In Indonesia, the prevalence of CED increased to 17.3% in 2018 compared to previous years. Pregnant women with CED are at risk of various complications, such as anemia, bleeding, abnormal weight gain, and susceptibility to infection. The purpose of this literature review is to determine the relationship between CED and the incidence of anemia in pregnant women. The method used was a literature study by reviewing articles from national and international journals. Searches were conducted through Google Scholar, Semantic Scholar, and PubMed using the keywords: "Anemia in pregnancy, cause of anemia, CED pregnant women, impact of CED, anemia in pregnancy, cause of anemia in pregnant women, chronic energy deficiency in pregnant women" with a time span of 2018-2023. Of the 125 articles found, they were screened based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, and 12 articles were reviewed. The results showed that there is a significant relationship between CED and increased risk of anemia in pregnant women, where macro and micronutrient deficiencies have a direct impact on hemoglobin production. This review is expected to increase knowledge in the field of midwifery, especially in the prevention and treatment of anemia in pregnant women with Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED), and help health workers provide better services to pregnant women.

Abstract

One crucial aspect of the professional development of nurse supervisors involves their sociodemographic characteristics, which can significantly impact their knowledge and skills in collaborative communication. This study aims to analyze the sociodemographic contributions of nurse supervisors to knowledge and collaborative communication skills, based on King’s Theory, within Type C Regional Hospitals in West Sumatra. The research methodology employed a crosstab-chisquare approach, with a sample consisting of 24 nurse supervisors. Supervisor education level showed a significant relationship with supervisor knowledge and skills (p < 0.05). The contribution of work period to supervisor knowledge and skills was also significant (p < 0.05. However, the age of the supervisor did not have a significant relationship with supervisor knowledge and skills with p>0.05. It is expected that hospital management can develop supervisor collaborative communication training based on King's theory on an ongoing basis focus on improving collaborative communication skills, especially for supervisors with shorter work periods or lower education levels.

Abstract

According to SIRKESNAS 2022, in Indonesia, 13.5% of individuals aged 18 years experience excess weight, with 28.7% being overweight with a BMI of 25 and around 15.4% being overweight with a BMI of 27. Being overweight is a condition where body weight exceeds normal levels and can be caused by excessive eating patterns, such as fast food and junk food. The study aims to determine the effect of eating patterns on adolescents' overweight status. This quantitative study used an analytical observational method with a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 225 Vocational High School (SMK) Muhammadiyah 3 Purwokerto students, selected through cluster random sampling. The data used in this study included questionnaires on eating patterns and measurements of weight, height, mid-upper arm circumference, and waist circumference to assess overweight status. The eating pattern questionnaire comprised 20 items, of which 17 were valid. Validity results showed a minimum correlation coefficient (r) of 0.339 and a maximum of 0.550, with a critical value for n = 35 being 0.334. Reliability analysis using Cronbach's alpha yielded a value of 0.534. Data analysis was performed using the chi-square test. In the overweight group, eating patterns were categorized as high risk. In the non-overweight group, eating patterns were categorized as low risk. The chi-square test result showed a p-value of 0.0001 (p 0.05), indicating a significant effect of eating patterns on overweight status. Eating patterns significantly affect overweight status in adolescents at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Purwokerto.
