Abstract

This study aims to determine the motivation to learn science for elementary school students during the Covid-19 pandemic and to find out the supporting and inhibiting factors for learning science motivation for elementary school students during the Covid-19 pandemic at SDN 08 Petang. This type of research is qualitative with data collection in the form of distributing questionnaires through google forms with class III subjects at SDN 08 Evening. Data analysis technique using descriptive method. The results show that the motivation to learn science in class III at SDN 08 Petang is very varied. There are several factors that support and hinder the motivation to learn science during the Covid-19 pandemic. Factors supporting motivation in learning science are communication tools (mobile/laptop), internet network, internet quota, use of resources in learning, and praise given by the teacher. While the inhibiting factors for learning science motivation during the pandemic are parents who do not limit students to playing cellphones and also too many tasks given by teachers. There are many impacts of courageous learning. Therefore, teachers and parents play an important role in supporting and motivating student learning.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) assessment instrument for grade 5 elementary school in science learning theme 8 The environment of our friends that is valid, reliable, and feasible. This research method uses R&D research with ADDIE research design (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). The steps developed include design, expert validation, limited-scale trials, and large-scale trials. The data collection technique in this development research is a test technique (multiple choice). The results of the validation of the HOTS multiple-choice test instrument are valid, the reliability value during the limited-scale trial is 0.648 and when the wide-scale test is 0.762 the value indicates a reliable instrument, the results of the HOTS assessment of the research instrument can be concluded that it has met the criteria of being valid, reliable, and feasible to use.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the form of directive speech acts used by teachers in the learning process, describe directive speech acts used by teachers, and describe the context of the situation of teacher directive speech acts in the learning process at the 001 Pangkalan public elementary school. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research method, with the steps of the pre-field stage, the stage of field activities, data collection, and intensive analysis stage. The results showed that of the 12 elementary school teachers studied, all of them had good directive speech acts. The conclusion of this study is that the politeness of the teacher's directive speech acts in the learning process at the 001 base public elementary school is quite good and needs to be improved. Of all types of directive speech acts, the most dominant that emerges from the teacher's speech is the directive command speech act. Efforts are needed to improve continuous pedagogic competence in order to improve teacher skills in applying all directive speech acts so that teacher competence increases.

Abstract

The pandemic is very influential in the world of education, one of which is the implementation of an online learning process that has the difficulty of transferring knowledge, so we need an interactive media that is interesting, but facilitates the transfer of knowledge. The aim is to determine the design of quizizz-assisted animated video media used for social studies learning, the feasibility of quizizz-assisted animated video media used for social studies learning, and the effectiveness of the influence of quizizz-assisted animation video media on social studies learning outcomes. The research design uses Research and Development. The population in this study were students of SDN Bojong Salaman 02, West Semarang District, Semarang City, and the samples were 20 students of class IV A as the control class and 23 students of class IV B as the experimental class. Data collection techniques with tests (multiple choice questions) and non-test (observation sheets, questionnaires, interviews, documentation). Prerequisite data analysis techniques, video feasibility test, and t-test. T-test results are 8.112 greater than t-table (2.074). In conclusion, the quizizz-assisted animation video media is effective in improving learning outcomes.

Abstract

The problem in this study is the lack of students' understanding of the intrapersonal intelligence that exists in themselves so that students are not able to know themselves well. This research is a quantitative research with correlation design. Which aims to determine the relationship between intrapersonal intelligence and mathematics learning outcomes for fifth grade elementary school students in cluster II. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between intrapersonal intelligence and mathematics learning outcomes for fifth grade elementary school students in Cluster II with tCount (6.2128) greater (>) ttable value (1.6621), which means H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Based on the analysis of the data above, it can be concluded that students' intrapersonal intelligence will have an impact on students' thinking in learning so that it will affect their motivation and learning outcomes in the classroom. So, the higher the intrapersonal intelligence it will improve student learning outcomes. From these conclusions, the impact resulting from this study is known that high intrapersonal intelligence will improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Walasuji Tradition is Buginise tradision in the province of South Sulawesi.  Walasuji is a protector for the Buginese women.  Buginese usually uses Walasuji tradition in the wedding procession.  Walasuji tradition has the meaning of social strata in the Walasuji layer fold.  There are philosophical values that reflect character values in the Walasuji.  This study aims to determine the values of the Walasuji tradition in Bugis society and to determine the values of the Walasuji tradition through storytelling by using animation media.  This study is descriptive research with a qualitative approach.  Data collection techniques are observation, interview, questionnaire, and documentation.  Data analysis techniques are reduction data and conclusion.  This study found there were five values of the Walasuji tradition, namely mutual cooperation, discipline, honesty, communication, and social care.  Based on the character values found in Walasuji through storytelling by using animation media.  Pretest results showed that only 40% of students knew the value of Walasuji, after treatment had been given, posttest results increased by 60%.  It can be concluded that the Walasuji tradition has character values that can be used as character learning media.

Abstract

The problem in this study is the habit of students in playing online games so that it will have an impact on student learning outcomes if they cannot manage time to study and time to play online games. This study is a quantitative study with a correlation design that aims to determine the effect of online game playing habits on the learning outcomes of high-class students at SDN 26 Watang Palakka. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. Based on the results of descriptive statistical analysis, it was obtained that the habit of playing online games had an average of 84 and a percentage of 84% with a very good category and the average student learning outcomes had an average of 83,670 and a percentage of 83,670% with a very good category. Then based on the results of inferential statistical analysis, the tcount value (5.858) is greater (>) the ttable value (1.66277) at the 5% significance level. Thus, H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, so it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between the habit of playing online games on the learning outcomes of high-class students at SDN 26 Watang Palakka. So the more students have high self-control, are able to manage time to play online games and time to study, student learning outcomes will increase.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the role of parents on student learning outcomes on the theme of the area where I live in class IV SD Negeri 094097 Simpang Pongkalan Tongah. The research was conducted on May 9, 2021. The research method used was a quantitative survey type. The sample in this study were fourth grade students with a total of 31 students. The data collection tool used is a questionnaire or questionnaire. This study uses the normality test with the results of 0.200 ≥ 0.05 where the data is normally distributed. From the correlation test, it is known that the calculation results obtained rcount 0.606, which means there is a positive influence. The significance test was carried out to test the hypothesis, namely by comparing the value of tcount with ttable. Obtained the value of tcount = 4.103 while ttable = 1.699. Because tcount ttable (4.103 ≥ 1.699) then Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. Through the t test, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between the role of parents and student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to: 1) describe and analyze teaching materials and learning models to improve critical thinking skills and environmental care characters carried out by teachers, 2) test the validity of the design of PBL-based comics teaching materials containing Conservation developed, 3) test the effectiveness of comics teaching materials PBL based on Conservation to improve critical thinking skills and environmental care character of students and 4) testing the effectiveness of PBL based comics teaching materials containing Conservation to improve students' environmental care character. The type of research used is research and development (Research and Development). The research development procedure consists of two main objectives, namely: (1) developing the product, and (2) testing the effectiveness of the product in achieving the goal. The results of research on teaching materials and learning models can improve the critical thinking skills and environmental care character of students by teachers. The design of comics teaching materials based on Problem Based Learning containing Conservation that was developed is a very feasible and valid teaching material. Teaching materials based on Problem Based Learning Comics containing Conservation to improve students' critical thinking skills are effective teaching materials. Comics teaching materials based on Problem Based Learning containing Conservation to improve students' environmental care character are effective teaching materials.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of the predict observe explain learning model to students' understanding of science concepts in elementary schools. The research method used is descriptive research method with meta-analysis technique, with steps of data collection, data reduction, data display, discussion, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that of the 32 articles discussing the application of the predict observe explain learning model and the understanding of students' science concepts in elementary schools published in accredited journals in the last 10 years, only 4 articles were found that discussed both (the application of the predict observe explain learning model to understanding the concept science students in elementary school). The conclusion of this study is that the application of the predict observe explain learning model to students' understanding of science concepts in elementary schools is very rarely done. The steps of the predict observe explain learning model that are applied are different from one another. Likewise, the aspects of understanding the concepts studied differ from one another. Continuous assistance is needed for elementary school teachers to be able to implement the steps of the predict observe explain and explain learning model and aspects of understanding concepts that are in accordance with the original theory
