Abstract

Analgesics or painkillers are substances that reduce or eliminate pain without losing consciousness (in contrast to general anesthetics while antipyretics are drugs or substances that can reduce body temperature in a feverish state. This study aims to determine the activity of leaf extracts Tapak Kuda (Ipomoea pescaprae L.) as an analgesic and antipyretic in mice (Mus musculus) and to determine the dose of ethanol extract of Tapak Kuda leaf which has analgesic and antipyretic effects. The method used was sample extraction by maceration using 96% ethanol solvent and extract The results obtained were divided into 3 concentrations, namely 100, 300, and 500 mg/kgBW mice, then paracetamol was used in the positive control group. In the analgesic study, acetic acid was used as a pain inducer and in the antipyretic study, 10% peptone was used as a fever inducer. Male mice 15 adults used g were divided into 5 groups and each group consisted of 3 tails. Group I was treated with 1% Na-CMC as a negative control. Group II positive control of paracetamol with treatment given orally at a dose of 1 ml/30 grams of body weight to mice. Groups III, IV, and V as the test group were given ethanol extract of the leaves of Tapak Kuda (Ipomoea pescaprae L.) with extract doses of 100, 300 and 500 mg/kg BW with a volume of 1 ml / 30 gram BW. The results showed that in the analgesic test the administration of the ethanol extract of the leaves of Tapak Kuda (Ipomoea pescaprae L.) with extract doses of 300 mg/kgBW and 500 mg/kgBW could provide an analgesic effect, while the results of the antipyretic test on the administration of the ethanolic extract of the leaves of Tapak Kuda (Ipomoea pescaprae L.) with extract doses of 100, 300, and 500 mg/kgBW also had antipyretic effects.

Abstract

Research has been conducted on the effect of Sidaguri (Sida rhombifolia L.) Leaf Infusion on Uric Acid Levels in Male Mice (Mus musculus) with the aim of researching the effect of Sidaguri (Sida rhombifolia L.) Leaf Infusion on reducing blood uric acid levels in white male mice that were treated with induced by caffeine. This study is an experimental study, by testing the decrease in uric acid levels using Allopurinol and Sidaguri Leaf Infusion (Sida Rhombifolia L.) with concentrations of 5g/BW, 10g/BW, 20g/BW in Male Mice (Mus Musculus) induced with 13 mg Caffeine. The results showed that Sidaguri Leaf Infusion (Sida rhombifolia L.) could reduce uric acid levels in the blood of male mice (Mus musculus) induced with caffeine, but the difference in doses of Sidaguri Leaf Infusion (Sida Rhombifolia L.) was not significantly affected.

Abstract

Cancer, which is a dangerous disease, it does not mean that it cannot be cured. For now, cancer treatment is done with chemotherapy, surgery and some of them with oral drugs, but they are expensive and have not been able to cure most cancer sufferers. Plants that are often used as traditional medicine are katuk plants. Katuk plant (Sauropus androgunus (L) Merr) has many benefits in everyday life such as facilitating breast milk, treating ulcers, ulcers and treating dirty blood. The aim of this study was to test the identification of cytotoxic Katuk (Sauropus androgunus (L) Merr) leaves against the inhibition of mitosis of sea urchins (Tripneustes gratilla Linn.). The results of the study showed that the level of inhibition of cell division of the methanol fraction of katuk leaves against the antimitotic test of sea urchin eggs (T. gratilla) with IC50 = 147μg/ml. The methanol fraction of 1 katuk leaf had a greater toxic effect on Artemia salina Leach, with LC50 value = 353μg/ml. The methanol fraction 1 of katuk leaves had cytotoxic activity against Hela cancer cells which was greater than fraction 2 with an IC50 value of 305.941 g/ml in fraction 1 and 711.954 g/ml in fraction 2.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the formulation of Liquid Soap for Women from Tanjung Leaf Extract (Mimusops elengi L) and its effectiveness on the growth of Candida albicans and the most effective concentration. The type of research used is experimental research which is a laboratory study using a simple experimental design, namely the effectiveness of antifungal preparations for female liquid soap extracts from tanjung leaves (Mimusops elengi L) against Candida albicans. This research was conducted in September 2021 at the Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Biology, Pharmaceutical Technology and Pharmacognosy-Phytochemistry of Pharmacy, Sandi Karsa Polytechnic. The results of statistical analysis using the completely randomized design method (ANOVA) showed that giving a negative control of the preparation of female liquid soap with tanjung leaf extract and Resik V liquid soap as a comparison gave a significantly different inhibition zone against Candida albicans, where the inhibition zone showed that the F value of the zone inhibition against Candida albicans was greater than Ftable at the level of 0.05 (3.48) and Ftable at the level of 0.01 (5.99), it can be concluded that the preparation of female cleansing liquid soap from tanjung leaf extract (Mimusops elengi L) concentration 1 % w/v, 3% w/v, and 5% w/v can inhibit Candida albicans.
