Abstract

Self-medication is part of "self-care" which is an effort to maintain health or prevent and overcome disease. Self-medication is usually done to treat minor illnesses, including fever and pain. The purpose of this study was to find out which class of Fever and Pain drugs were most widely used for self-medication at the Talita Pharmacy, Makassar City. This research method has used descriptive method. The results showed that the most widely used Fever and Pain drug group in January was paracetamol as much as 85.1851%, February as much as 72.27%, March as much as 0.8088%. So it can be concluded that the most widely used class of fever and pain drugs for self-medication at the Talita Pharmacy in Makassar City in January - March 2022 is the Acetaminophen (Paracetamol) group.

Abstract

Leukorrhea is a symptom that arises from vaginitis. This disease is mostly caused by Candida infections, especially Candida albicans. This disease causes an uncomfortable feeling for the sufferer. for that, we need to maintain the balance of the vaginal ecosystem. The aim of the research was to find out the Comparison of the Effectiveness of the Inhibitory Power of Feminine Cleansing Products Made from Herbs on the Growth of Candida albicans. This type of research was carried out experimentally, which is a laboratory study using a simple experimental design. The research was conducted in October 2022 at the Microbiology Laboratory of the Pharmacy Department of the Sandi Karsa Polytechnic Makassar. Based on the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that the effectiveness of the inhibition of feminine products in Sample I was stronger in inhibiting the growth of Candida albicans compared to Sample II.

Abstract

The community health center, also known as the Puskesmas, is a first-level health facility that provides services for public health efforts and individual health efforts prioritizing promotive and preventive without neglecting curative and rehabilitative efforts. The purpose of this study was to find out how the description of drug storage at UPT Puskesmas Limbong, Rongkong District, North Luwu Regency, based on spatial arrangements, how to store drugs, record stock cards, observe drug quality. Spatial planning obtained good results, but some were not appropriate, namely special cabinets for narcotics and psychotropics which were not guaranteed to be safe and did not have locks. The method of storing medicines at the UPT Puskesmas Limbong, Rongkong District, North Luwu Regency based on FIFO and FEFO and the alphabet, obtained good results. Although there are those that do not meet the requirements, namely the special cupboards for narcotics and psychotropics, their safety is not guaranteed and they do not have a key. Stock cards are used to record drug mutations (receipt, dispensing, damaged and expired). Stock card recording has a good category. Observation of drug quality obtained good results. Description of drug storage in the drug warehouse at the UPT Puskesmas Limbong, Rongkong District, North Luwu Regency in 2022 is in the good category with a percentage value of 92.5% consisting of 80% spatial arrangement, 90% drug storage method, 100% stock card recording and drug quality observation by 100%.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a disease in which the sufferer's body cannot automatically control the level of sugar (glucose) in the blood. In a healthy body, the pancreas releases the hormone insulin, which is responsible for transporting sugar through the blood to the muscles and other tissues to supply energy. Glucose normally circulates in a certain amount in the blood. Glucose is formed in the liver (hepar) from the food consumed. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of adherence of diabetic patients in taking DM medication at the Antara Public Health Center in Makassar City. The method used in this research is descriptive, namely research that includes surveys with data collection techniques in the form of questionnaires. This research was conducted at the Antara Public Health Center, Makassar City. This research was conducted in June 2021 by distributing questionnaires to 58 respondents or the public according to the criteria. The results of this study indicate that the evaluation of diabetes patient compliance in taking diabetes mellitus medication at the Makassar City Public Health Center obtained a percentage of adherence, namely 80.09%, so that it is included in the high compliance level category.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the antioxidant activity with the IC50 value contained in black turmeric (Curcuma cease) rhizome extract using the DPPH (1,1 Diphenyl-2-picryhidrzyl) method. Black turmeric samples were macerated with 96% ethanol solvent. Identification of phenolic compounds produces a purple solution; this indicates that a positive sample containing phenolic compounds. The determination of the IC50 value was carried out by adding the DPPH reaction to each concentration of the sample solution and the vitamin C comparator at the maximum DPPH wavelength of 516 nm. Research has been carried out by quantitatively testing Black turmeric extract (Curcuma caeseae) showing moderate antioxidant activity, with an IC50 value of 144.47 ppm because it is in the IC50 range of 100 – 150 ppm, while vitamin C used as a standard in this study has activity very strong antioxidant 14.0970 ppm because it is in the IC50 value range of less than 50 ppm.

Abstract

Self-medication is an effort that most people make to deal with complaints or symptoms of disease before they decide to seek help at a health service center/health worker. Coughing is a reflection that is aroused by irritation of the lungs or respiratory tract. This study aims to describe the level of knowledge of Narisa pharmacy consumers on cough self-medication. This research was conducted from September to November 2022 at the Narisa Pharmacy. This type of research uses a descriptive method using a questionnaire. With a total sample of 88 respondents, the sample was taken using a non-probability sampling technique, namely accidental sampling. The results of this study indicate that the percentage results are 93.58%. Based on the results of the percentage of respondents' answers, it can be concluded that the level of knowledge of Narisa pharmacy consumers is categorized as high level of knowledge.

Abstract

Studies have been conducted on the protective effects of pancreatic telang flower extract (Clitoria ternatea L.) against white rats (Rattus norvegicus) induced by alloxane-induced by laboratory experiential methods. Thegoal is to determine the protective effect of pancreatic telang flower extract (Clitoria ternatea L.) against white rats (Rattus norvegicus) induced by alloxane which has the potential to be anti-diabetic. The mice used were 15 heads, the mice were divided into 5 groups. Each group consisted of 3 mice. Three groups were given a suspension of Telang Flower Extract at a dose of 150 mg/kgBB, 300 mg/kgBB, 450 mg/kgBB, and 1 group as a negative control was given a 1% Na-CMC suspension w/v. The administration of telang flower extract was carried out for 5 days and induced by aloksan of 150 mg / KgBB for 2 days. Blood draws are carried out 3 times, namely on the first day, day 6, and day 8 and then measurements of glucose and albumin levels are carried out. Based on the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that the administration of telang flower extract (Clitoria ternatea L.) at a dose of 150 mg/KgBB,300 mg/KgBB, and 450 mg / KgBB have a protective effect not significantly different.

Abstract

Self-medication or self-medication is part of the community's efforts to treat minor ailments by using over-the-counter drugs, limited over-the-counter drugs and mandatory pharmacy drugs without consulting a doctor first. Most people self-medicate because they don't have time to go to the doctor, the distance to the puskesmas, hospital or doctor's office is far from home. So that people choose where to buy drugs at pharmacies, grocery stalls, minimarkets and drugstores. The purpose of this study was to find out where to buy drugs for self-medication in the Green Hills Moncongloe Housing Complex, Maros Regency. The method used in this research is descriptive method, namely research that includes surveys with data collection techniques in the form of questionnaires. This research was conducted at the Green Hills Moncongloe Housing Complex, Maros Regency which was carried out in February - March 2023 by distributing questionnaires to 50 respondents. From the results of the study it can be seen that of the 50 respondents, 29 people (58%) bought drugs at pharmacies, 16 people (32%) at grocery stalls, 3 people (6%) minimarkets, and finally 2 people (4%) drugstores. So it can be concluded that more people choose places to buy medicines at pharmacies because people believe that medicines sold at pharmacies can be trusted for their quality and authenticity and the public can obtain information about the drugs they buy.

Abstract

Drug information services are activities carried out by pharmacists in providing impartial drug information, evaluated critically and with the best evidence in all aspects of drug use to other health professionals, patients or the public. Information about drugs including prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs and herbs. The aim of the research is to find out drug information services at the "IAF" pharmacy in Makassar city. The research method used is a descriptive survey. Sampling in this study by purposive sampling technique. The population in the study were all "IAF" pharmacy staff in May-June 2021. The results showed that the evaluation of drug information services at the "IAF" pharmacy in Makassar city in implementing PERMENKES No.73 of 2016 in drug information services such as answering oral and written questions, providing information and education to patients, providing knowledge and skills to students who are practice, conducting research on drug use and conducting quality assurance programs have been carried out in accordance with PERMENKES No. 73 of 2016 concerning drug information service standards in pharmacies, while making bulletins/brochures/leaflets and writing or presenting papers in scientific forums has not been fully implemented.

Abstract

Diseases of the gastrointestinal tract are quite dangerous diseases that cause many deaths number 6 in the world. Based on data from the WHO (World Health Organization), diseases of the gastrointestinal tract mostly occur in developing countries by looking at the prevalence rates of gastrointestinal diseases that occur due to disruption of the digestive system. human digestion. Poor eating habits can cause various digestive disorders such as heartburn, diarrhea, dizziness, difficult bowel movements, nausea, flatulence and fever. Gastritis is a digestive tract disorder caused by three main factors, such as (a) H. pylori (b) long-term use of Non-Steroid Anti-inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs), and (c) Stress-Related Musocal Damage (SRMD). In addition, gastritis can also be caused by other factors, such as irregular eating patterns, consumption of coffee, tea, cola, alcohol and spicy foods, and stressful conditions. Gastritis sufferers will experience complaints including stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, weakness, flatulence, and feeling tight, pain in the pit of the stomach, no appetite, pale face, increased body temperature, cold sweat, dizziness or belching and bleeding can also occur digestive tract. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of public knowledge of self-medication of digestive tract drugs for gastritis patients at the Talita Pharmacy in Makassar City. The research method uses quantitative analysis with descriptive surveys, namely research that includes surveys with data collection techniques in the form of questionnaires. The results of the study showed that: Based on the results of the data obtained from this study, it can be concluded that the level of knowledge of the community regarding self-medication of digestive tract drugs for gastritis patients at the Talita Pharmacy in Makassar City with age criteria of 15-50 years, can communicate well, is willing to be a respondent and is classified as high with a percentage of 83%, the data shows that the level of public knowledge of self-medication of digestive tract drugs for gastritis patients at the Talita Pharmacy in Makassar is included in the tofu category.
