Abstract

Objective. The objective of this study is to analyze the psychology of sports athletes through the lenses of attitude, motivation, responsibility, and personality. Materials and methods. The instrument utilized in this study comprised a questionnaire form, in which each athlete completed four distinct types of assessments: Attitude, Motivation, Responsibility, and Personality tests. This study included 20 students from the Sports Coaching Education Study Program, all of whom have demonstrated proficiency in football. These students attended lectures from semester 2 to semester 6 and have participated in various regional championships, showcasing a solid understanding of the game. Results. The findings of this study, derived from data collected via a questionnaire, are categorized as Very Less, Less, Sufficient, Good, and Very Good. The assessment involved 20 athletes and focused on four key categories: Attitude, Motivation, Personality, and Responsibility. In the Attitude category, 14 athletes achieved Good scores (70%), while 6 additional athletes attained Very Good results (30%). The mean score of the test outcomes for PKO soccer sports students in the Attitude category was rated as Good. The findings in the Motivation category indicate that most PKO soccer sports students demonstrated strong motivation, with 65% (13 athletes) receiving Good scores and 35% (7 athletes) achieving Very Good scores. Furthermore, in the Personality category, 8 athletes achieved Good scores, representing 40%, while 12 athletes, or 60%, attained Very Good scores. Conclusion. Demonstrates the students' excellent character. Conversely, in the Responsibility category, every athlete achieved a Good score, reflecting a perfect 100% performance.

Abstract

Objectives. This study seeks to:1)determine if there is a relationship between sleep quality and shooting results in petanque games; 2) assess whether stress correlates with shooting results in petanque games. The findings of this study may serve as a valuable resource for coaches aiming to enhance the performance of petanque athletes, particularly in the area of shooting results improvement. Materials and Methods. This investigation is of a correlational nature. The participants in this study consisted solely of novice petanque players located in Central Sulawesi. A total of 31 individuals participated in the study. The instruments or methods for collecting data from the three variables include the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index questionnaire, a stress measurement questionnaire, and a petanque shooting test. The analysis employed in this study to examine the data is the partial correlation test. Results. The findings from the study indicate that the significance value for the relationship between sleep quality and shooting results in the petanque game is 0.892 ( > 0.05). This suggests that the alternative hypothesis in this study is accepted, while the null hypothesis is not accepted. This indicates that there is no correlation between sleep quality and shooting performance in the petanque game; 2) The significance value found for the relationship between stress variables and shooting performance variables in the petanque game is 0.934 ( > 0.05). This suggests that the alternative hypothesis in this study is accepted, while the null hypothesis is not accepted. This indicates that there is no correlation between stress levels and performance outcomes in petanque games. Conclusion. The findings of this study indicate the following: 1) No correlation exists between sleep quality and shooting performance in petanque; 2) No correlation exists between stress levels and shooting performance in petanque.

Abstract

Objective. This study aimed to investigate how various energy sources impact individual reaction speed, formulate strategies for performance enhancement, and add to the body of scientific knowledge. This investigation examined the differences in quickness test outcomes according to various sequences of energy sources, emphasizing the impact of these sequences on quickness or reaction time among university students. Materials and methods. The investigation included 32 individuals from the Faculty of Sports Education and Health at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, class of 2022, comprising an equal number of male and female participants. The pretest-posttest experimental design involving a single group was employed, wherein the participants' speed was assessed through a straightforward test utilizing a falling ruler that needed to be caught with two fingers. A posttest was administered following the pretest, which featured the correct sequence of energy sources. The posttest utilized an incorrect order of energy sources to assess variations in performance. Data collection was conducted through purposive sampling, followed by analysis utilizing a paired t-test. Results. The findings indicated a notable reduction in quickness performance during the posttest. The statistical analysis indicated a significant reduction in the distance the ruler fell during the posttest when compared to the pretest (p < 0.05). A majority of participants demonstrated a reduction in reaction time, particularly among those with less favorable posttest outcomes. In summary, the arrangement of various energy sources notably influences performance in the quickness test. The results highlight the significance of adhering to established guidelines during training or testing, and offer valuable perspectives on how enhancing energy sources can elevate performance across different scenarios, particularly in athletic endeavors. Conclusion. The findings of this study indicate that varying sequences of energy sources significantly influence performance outcomes in the quickness test. The examination of the pretest and posttest outcomes revealed a distinct variation in participants' speed following the implementation of the energy source sequence. Suggestions for additional investigation involve examining a wider range of energy sources, utilizing varied subjects, taking psychological factors into account, and implementing long-term studies to gain a more profound understanding of the impact of energy sources on performance and health.

The researcher hopes that this study can be utilized by other researchers to enhance student learning in schools. Materials and Methods. The material provided focuses on passing using the inside of the foot in football, taught through a play-based method. This research employs a classroom action research method conducted in two cycles. The research subjects are 28 eighth-grade students, consisting of 20 males and 8 females. The instruments used in this study include measurement techniques and observation sheets. Results. The pre-cycle data results show that students' ability to perform passing using the inside of the foot had not yet reached the minimum mastery criterion of 75%. Specifically, 23 students (82.14%) did not meet the criterion, while only 5 students (17.85%) achieved it. Subsequently, instruction on inside-foot passing was provided through a play-based method. This had an impact on the passing skills results in football, as shown in the Cycle I test. Out of 28 students, 17 students (60.71%) achieved mastery, while 11 students (39.28%) did not. The researcher continued the study with Cycle II, applying the same method as in Cycle I. The results from Cycle II show that 23 students (82.14%) achieved mastery, while 5 students (17.85%) did not. Conclusions. ased on the research results above, it can be concluded that the play-based method can improve passing skills in football among eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Seluas, Bengkayang Regency
