Abstract

Critical thinking is one of the characteristics of higher-order thinking skills (HOTS). Indikators of critical thinking skills include interpretation, inference, analysis, and evaluation. One alternatif to optimize students' thinking skills is through cool-critical-creative-meaningful (3CM) learning. This research is a pre-experimental descriptive type with a one-shot case study design. The instruments used were lesson plans, guidelines for observing student activity, HOTS-type critical thinking skills tests, and interview guidelines. The research subjects were 33 students in class VIII A of SMP Plus Darus Sholah Jember. The research procedure begins with 3CM learning in the subject class. During the learning process, student activity was observed and classified into low, medium, and high categories. Then 2 subjects were selected for each category to take the critical thinking ability test. The results of the data analysis show that students who are more active in learning 3CM show better critical thinking skills. This is because active learning can be a supporting factor for students critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to develop lesson plans and handouts based on Guided Note Taking on Algebraic Operations material. This type of research is development research with a 4-D model proposed by S. Thiagarajaan (1974) which consists of four stages of development, namely definition, design, development and dissemination. The define stage consists of: a) educator analysis b) student analysis c) concept analysis d) curriculum/syllabus analysis and learning objectives. The design phase consists of: a) device design b) instrument design and validation of learning device assessment instruments. The develop stage consists of: a) validity stage b) practicality stage. The results of this study indicate that based on the assessment of 5 validators, the learning tool, namely the RPP developed, meets the criteria of being very valid with an average of 90% and the Handout meets the criteria of "very valid" with an average of 88%. Based on the results of filling out practicality questionnaires for educators, student response questionnaires and interviews with students, it shows that the Handout developed is very practical to use in learning mathematics in algebraic operations with an average of 90% by educators and 92% by students. Thus, it can be concluded that this research produces a mathematics learning device based on the Guided Note Taking approach with very valid and practical criteria.

Abstract

This study aims to see whether there is a relationship between the Grade Point Average (GPA) and length of study to comprehensive exam scores. This research is descriptive quantitative research. The population of this research is graduated students of the mathematics education study program at IAIN Bukittinggi for the last 4 years; students who have graduated in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, consisting of 353 people. The sample was 15% of 353 people (53 people). The data analysis technique was statistical analysis in which the step started by firstly carrying out the prerequisite analysis test. Next, the hypothesis test is carried out. The results showed that the results of the first correlation test that had been carried out had a relationship between the Grade Point Average and the student's comprehensive score. From data analysis through correlation analysis, it obtained 0.318 with a coefficient of determination of 10.112%. It means that there is a relationship between the Grade Point Average and the student's comprehensive score. This shows that the relationship between GPA and the compressive score is positive even though it is weak. The second correlation test which was carried out did not show any relationship between the length of study and the student's comprehensive score. From the analysis of the data through correlation analysis, it was obtained -0.278 which indicated that the relationship between the length of study and the compression value had a negative score and had weak relationship strength. Based on the third hypothesis test that has been carried out there is no relationship between the Grade Point Average (GPA) and the length of study with the student's comprehensive score.

Abstract

Many factors can cause poverty such as low income, health, education and the powerlessness or inability of certain people to be able to participate in development in their country. Education is one of the most influential aspects, especially for the development of human resources. Poverty can also be measured by the ability of the community to meet their basic needs or needs in the form of food and non-food. This study aims to determine how big the impact or influence of each independent variable on the dependent variable using panel data regression method consisting of cross section and time series. The panel data regression method with a fixed effect approach to the individual effects model has a result of R2 of 99,63% where the per capita expenditure variables for basic needs and school dropout rates are factors that have a significant effect on poverty in North Sumatra Province and the p-value results from the partial test (t-test) expeniture per capita for basic needs is 4,841 1,984 and the dropout rate is 3,733 1,984.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the annual joint life premium for millennial couples, based on three categories (age), namely 1) the husband is older than the wife, 2) the husband and wife are the same age and 3) the husband is younger than the wife. This type of research is quantitative research by applying data from married couples at Tamansiswa University, Padang. The study population was a husband/wife pair of Tamansiswa University employees in Padang with the sample chosen being a 1 year age difference in the age of the millennial couple. The application of the joint life insurance model is applied to endowment life insurance. The dual-purpose life insurance model is the insurance that is most in demand in Indonesia because in addition to compensation being paid if the participant dies within n years, participants also receive compensation if they are still alive after n years have ended. The results of the study show that the smaller the age of the millennial spouse, the smaller the annual premium will be with a difference in the age of the millennial couple of 1 year.

Abstract

The actions of workers and the conditions of the work place greatly influence the occurrence of work accidents, where accidents that often occur in welding workshops are workers tripping over tools or materials in the welding area, ringing in their ears, inhaling welding fumes, hands being pinched, being hit by hot iron sparks, and so on. Data collection is carried out by direct interviews in order to obtain data from work processes, accidents that may occur and findings from direct observations and similar related research. In processing the data, after the analysis has been carried out, it can be calculated based on the level of risk in the form of a value. This research aims to reduce the risk of work accidents using the Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment method, where this method is to find out how to identify potential dangers that may arise in the area and assess the risks using a risk assessment matrix. In this research, qualitative analysis was carried out using an observational approach. Of the 7 workshop activities, namely dropping goods/materials using a crane, cutting materials, welding, plate rolling, smoothing weld marks (granding), sandblasting, and painting, there are 28 potential hazards which are classified into: 21 risks in the Low Risk category (75%), 3 risks in the Moderate category (11%), and 4 risks in the High category (14%). With a frequency level range of 1-5, the severity value range starts from 1-2 and the risk levels obtained are low, moderate and high.
