Al Munir Journal of Islamic Communication and Broadcasting is open access and peer review of journals published by the Communication and Islamic Broadcasting Study Program of the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication Sciences, Imam Bonjol Padang State Islamic University (UIN). This journal covers actual issues in Islamic communication studies, including the development of contemporary da'wah by utilizing media, Islamic information systems, rhetoric, literature, and government policies regarding broadcasting and information regulation. The purpose of this journal is to promote sharing of knowledge and understanding of communication issues. Then receive contributions from experts, researchers, practitioners and policy makers throughout the world. This journal is published periodically twice a year, precisely in January - June and July - December.

Abstract

One of the keys to the success of an organization is the existence of an effective communication process, both vertically and horizontally. Organizational leaders need to cultivate a communication culture so that the organization can run well. One part of the government organization in Bukittinggi City, West Sumatra is the public relations department. Communication activities in the organization start from intrapersonal, interpersonal, and group communication. The communication activity carried out by the leader is a communication management process. This article describes the results of research on communication activities carried out by the head of the public relations department (Head of Public Relations), ranging from intrapersonal, interpersonal and group communication. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with case study method. Data were collected through observation and interviews. The findings of this study are that the Head of Public Relations has carried out communication management starting from the intrapersonal, interpersonal and group communication stages. The three stages of communication have been carried out, but there are still obstacles, both internal and external, including time constraints and high work activities.

Abstract

Currently, the dissemination of information looks pretty excessive in the pandemic Covid-19; it is called an infodemic. As stated by WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, "…infodemic…spreads faster and more easily than virus Covid-19". Infodemic is information overload and cannot be traced to the truth, especially those circulating and developing during a health emergency. The percentage of vaccination refusal in Padang is relatively high, namely 11,2%, compared to the national rate, which is 5,2%. This requires the Government's communication strategy to provide valid information so that people are willing to be vaccinated. The study aims to analyze the communication strategy carried out by Padang Government in minimizing the Covid-19 vaccine infodemic. This study used a descriptive method with a qualitative approach—informants were withdrawn by purposive sampling. Collects data using observation techniques, interviews, and documentation studies. The results reveal that Padang Government's communication strategy in handling the Covid-19 vaccine infodemic is quite complete, clear, concise, and accurate. However, the substance of the information submitted has not conveyed in detail the safety and halalness of the Covid-19 vaccine. The Padang Government should involve the MUI of West Sumatra in answering public doubts about the Covid-19 vaccine

Abstract

This research is motivated by the development of mass media which is growing day by day to shift the purpose of the media which was originally intended to convey information, educate, entertain and social control. The mass media were eventually used to launch propaganda using certain techniques to influence attitudes and behavior towards a certain person or group - in this case the news on Indonesia's development in Tempo Magazine. The research method that the author uses is a mix method with a content analysis model, the researcher focuses on how the physical unit, syntactic unit, referential unit, propositional unit and thematic unit, along with the influence of propaganda techniques on the coverage of Indonesian Development in Tempo Magazine. Total sampling and purposive sampling are sampling techniques used. This study found that all propaganda techniques appeared in the news on Indonesia's development in Tempo Magazine. Card Stacking and name calling are the most frequently used and rarely used techniques. This study also found that Card Stacking became the technique with the most physical units. Analysis of the syntactic unit, further together with the referential unit, found that Government Governance was the pillar using a lot of propaganda techniques. While the pillars of science and technology development mostly contain propaganda techniques in a propositional and thematic manner. Propaganda techniques that appeared in Tempo Magazine also brought changes to the reader's cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects.

Abstract

Communication is an activity that is always carried out in everyday life. It is carried out by individuals with individuals, individuals with groups (organizations) and groups with groups (organizations). Marapi gang youths have low awareness to provide security and comfort in their environment. communication between youth leaders and members is still not optimal. This makes the organization not run well. Young people are busy with their own business. The purpose of this study was to find out and understand the form of messages contained in the Gang Merapi Youth Association (IPPGM) Gunung Pangilun Village, North Padang District, Padang City. This research is a field research. The method used is a qualitative method. This type of research is descriptive. The approach is phenomenology. The findings of this study are the messages conveyed by the communicator to the communicant using clear and easy-to-understand language. In addition, the delivery of messages in the form of invitations and orders is also accompanied by body movements, facial expressions, symbolic clothing, sounds and symbols or other symbols that have meaning so that the intended message will be easy to understand

Abstract

This paper discusses how celebration posts are made as a form of self-existence by the younger generation, especially on the Instagram platform. The young generation in question is users aged 18-30 years, where the need for recognition and acceptance is still substantial. They are also undergoing many phases of change from adolescence to adulthood. While the celebration moments referred to in this paper include birthdays, graduations, and weddings. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach—data obtained by interview, observation and documentation techniques. The research findings were analysed with the social construction theory of reality. The research findings show that there are many celebrations celebrated by young people as a form of self-existence, where each celebration has different distinctive attributes. Celebration posts as a form of self-existence are not only done by people who are celebrating the event but also by friends and relatives who congratulate them. The state of posting is also done more in the Instagram story feature. The value of self-existence and the form of recognition to be achieved include showing love, attracting attention, showing stability, showing contemporary values, and showing popularity

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi informasi yang kian pesat menimbulkan perubahan dan perkembangan dalam dunia komunikasi massa. Tidak dapat dipungkiri media masssa radio terpengaruh oleh arusnya. Radio merupakan salah satu media massa yang berkaitan dengan kebutuhan pendengar. Untuk dapat meningkatkan minat pendengar bukanlah perkara yang mudah, maka radio harus menggunakan strategi yang tepat agar dapat menarik minat pendengar. Salah satu radio yang berada di kota Padang yaitu radio Arbes FM melebarkan jangkauan siarnya melalui teknologi informasi yang berjejaring internet dengan memanfaatkan sosial media dan livestreaming. Hal ini merupakan bentuk dari konvergensi digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana praktek konvergensi digital yang dilakukan oleh radio Arbes FM dalam menyiarkan programnya salah satunya program dakwah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi dan studi kepustakaan. Temuan penelitian ini adalah radio Arbes FM telah mengembangkan jangkauan siarnya melalui media digital. Dalam pengembangannya radio Arbes FM menyesuaikan dengan perkembangan teknologi dengan melakukan adaptasi yang mengedepankan inovasi dan kreasi.

Abstract

Instagram social media is a new media that is currently used by the public in finding and getting information. One of them is the social media Instagram @bolalobfootball which is used by the People of Tangerang City as a source of football information. The style of language, type of information and features used by Instagram @bolalobfootball in conveying football information enjoyed by the people of Tangerang City varies. This research aims to find out how Instagram @bolalobfootball as a source of football information for the people of Tangerang City. The study uses the foundation of the Media Richness Theory by Littlejohn. The paradigm used in this research is constructivism, with qualitative case study research methods. The study subjects consisted of five people from Tangerang City who have a vulnerable age of 20- 29 years, follow Instagram @bolalobfootball for at least one year, and like five posts from Instagram @bolalobfootball in one day. The result of this study is that Instagram @bolalobfootball able to meet the information needs of informants and viewed from the point of view of Media Rrichness Theory Instagram @bolalobfootball managed to meet four factors measuring the wealth of a media. The conclusion of this study is that Instagram @bolalobfootball with the use of Instagram features, the style of language used, the type of information provided is able to meet the football information needs of the people of Tangerang City.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to see how parents do daily interpersonal communication in guiding their children to learn online during the COVID-19 pandemic in Karang Tangah Pesisir Selatan Village. As long as learning is done online, parents feel the maximum in guiding their children to learn online, but in reality this is not the case. With the various responses that children see when learning online, parents try to guide their children in various ways and methods. This research is a field research using a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data was collected by means of observation and interviews. The subjects in this study were 3 parents who were determined by purposive sampling technique. The results of this study indicate that: First, in an informative approach, parents carry out interpersonal communication in guiding children to learn online related to online learning tasks given by the teacher every day through the whatsapp group. Second, parents have done it gently in a persuasive approach in guiding children to learn online. Third, at the stage of the instructive approach, parents try not to do anything that contains elements of coercion and violence against children or something that is threatening, punishing and physically taking because they don't want children to feel forced and burdened in online learning.

Abstract

This study is a qualitative study that is descriptive, using a semiotic approach from Roland Barthes to examine the signs of.da'wah messages contained in the novel Bumi Cinta. Data.collection techniques used with observationand documentation. Data analysis techniques using Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis. The results of this study reveal that the message of da'wah in this Earth of Love novel, namely: 1) The message of da'wah contained in the form of words or sentences such as the message of creed, sharia and morals. Such as faith in Allah, prayer and morality towards fellow human beings, 2) The meaning of denotation shows Ayyas a young man who has a strong faith, obeys worship. 3) The meaning of connotation indicates that Ayyas was a young man who had a strong faith, like a rock that was firmly entrenched in the heart of Ayyas. Although Ayyas felt that he had no fortress or weapons to keep his faith, Ayyas always prayed to God that he would be strong against him.It is concluded that the word or sentence contained in the novel Bumi Cinta indicates the existence of proselytizing messages that have the meaning of denotation and connotation.

Abstract

Picky Picks Youtube content is one of the most popular  Youtube channel that is in demand among young people, especially collage,  while this content has a harmful impact on the audience, because it tends to use dirty language, display images containing pornographic elements and bad behavior ini everyday life. The focus of this paper is to see whther there is an effect of Picky Picks Youtube content on the attitudes of Islamic Broadcasting Comunication students at UIN Imam Bonjol Padang class of 2016-2018. The research method in this study uses the type of explanative correlation research with a quantitative approach. This method connects or looks for cause and effect between two variables or more concepts (variabes) to be studied. The results showed that the influence of Picky Picks Youtube content had a major effect on the attitudes of KPI collage at UIN Imam Bonjol Padang generation of 2016-2018. This is shown from the significant (partial) cognitive, affective and conative values of 0.000 < 0.05, Meand free variables affect signifish indifferently to bound variables.
