Abstract

One thing that is not separated in the discourse of education in Indonesia is a pondok resantren (Islamic boarding school). This is the model of the first and the oldest education system in  Indonesia. Its presence has been inspiring to the models and systems of the present found. Even it is not weathered over the age with all the changes. Therefore many experts, both locally and internationally consider it as their study materials. One of the boarding schools studied is salafiyah. Ponpes Salafiyahin its history has been doing a lot of incredible breakthroughs. One such is that ponpes salafiyahhas implemented 9 years of compulsory education (Wajib Belajar Pendidikan Dasar) in the pattern of boarding school. Therefore, the role of Ponpes Salafiyahin Indonesian education is not able to be underestimated since it is also recognized in the national education system.

This paper is the result of a study of the implementationof Education of Islamic Religion in Schools for the Gifted Children inthe province of Bali. Starting from the author’s curiosity about howfar Education of Islamic Religion is existed and integrated in theeducational process in the Schools for the Gifted Children. Religiouseducation is an obligation of schools to meet the equal rights of learnerswith special needs in terms of spiritual fulfillment with other normalstudents. By using a qualitative approach, this study found threethings. Firstly, implementation of Education of Islamic Religion inspecial needs students is still far from ideal. Secondly, professionalcompetence of Education of Islamic Religion’s teachers does notmeet the standards of academic qualifications as like non religiongraduates. Abstract

Since the academic year of 2003/2004, the government held the UN at the elementary and secondary education institutions. Although the UN should be carried out within the framework of the index measuring the quality of schools, in fact enable the UN has been misconstrued as a tool for determining the graduation of students. In fact, Law No.20 of 2003 on National Education System Article 58 paragraph 1 states that the assessment results of learners’ learning is done by educators only. That is, the UN has been unconstitutional. Likewise, the UN does not meet standards of validity and reliability assessment of student learning outcomes as long as six years of its implementation is not able to measure the quality of national education. In addition, the implementation of the UN in the field that gave rise to discrimination against a particular subject, and discrimination student learning outcomes, as well as a variety of fraud that have made the UN is considered contrary to human rights.

Abstract

Teacher is the centre of learning process and is also the centre of national education development. Without qualified teachers, the efforts to improve the quality of national resources and the competitiveness of the nation will be in vain. The quality of a good teacher is expected to be the goal of improving the quality of student learning. As it is explained in the Bill No. 14 of 2005 on Teachers and Lecturers, the quality of teachers is reflected in the mastery of competencies that must be owned. They are  professional, pedagogical, personal, and social competence. Duties and responsibilities of teachers that are so heavy i.e. To educate national generation, brings about a logical consequence that the teachers should always attempt to improve their quality. Ironically, the teachers who are required to constantly improve their quality are not compensated by good salary. It makes their life far from prosperity. Many teachers do another work to meet their family’s needs. Although the government issued a policy of teacher certification, which is one of the agenda for their welfare, but it is not overcome the problem because there are still many problems in the implementation of the policy. Many of our teachers are still in the 'dilemma', on the one hand they have to improve their quality, but on the other hand he also have to consider their family’s needs.

Abstract

Abstract: There is a thought that the moral crisis that occurred inour students one of them is caused by the inappropriate curriculumconcepts given. Existing curricula tend to be oriented to thedevelopment of intellectual and less attention to the development ofthe moral aspects (affective domain). Another factor is the design ofthe curriculum tends to be partial. It means that the realm of scienceand moral aspects are separated according to subjects. Mathematics,Science, Chemistry, Economics, etc are the types of special subjectsdeliberately given to the students to equip science. While thedevelopment of moral and personality assumed by some teachers /educators as the duty of the subjects of Religion, character, citizenship, and other similar subjects. Likewise, philosophically, the curriculumexisted today are not integrated nor based on the concept of human(students). In anticipation of these problems above, a concept ofintegrated subjects is needed. It is the concept of subjects containingknowledge resulting from the study of philosophical formulations whichcontained a full and comprehensive knowledge. The formulation ofknowledge contained on these subjects includes not only theknowledge that examined ontologically, but also includes assessedknowledge epistemologically and axiologically. The concept ofintegrated lessons is also supportive to the efforts of developing theconcept of subjects based on students’ potential. This concept isexpected to equip children as a whole, that is educating the children who will not only have knowledge, but possessing good manners aswell.
