Abstract

Semantic system unique in Arabic language is very interesting to study, particularly in relational meaning, because there are some Arabic semantic system parts whose concept is different from others. The relationship among the meanings like in modern linguistic is called as synonymy, polisemi homonymy, and antonymy can be found in Arabic and Quranic linguistic. Therefore, semantic studies have been existed in the Quran since a long time ago before linguists formulated modern semantic  is not found in other language meaning fields, like al-addad. Concerned with the position of Arabic language as Quranic language, the existence of al-addad also influences its translation and exegesis. The existence of al-addad mode in the Quran is a proof that the Quran has superiority viewed from language side.

Abstract

Muhammad, sebagai orang Arab dan juga manusia utusan Allah tidak lepas dari kapasitanya dia sebagai seorang penutur. Kemampuan bahasa beliau sudah tidak diragukan lagi. Beliau adalah seorang penyampai ajaran-ajaran Allah. Beliau sangat memperhatikan kepada pentingnya penguasaan bahasa yang fashih. Perkataannya selalu penuh kesantunan. Sejak kecil, Nabi sendiri sudah rajin berlatih untuk berbahasa dengan fashih. Beliau termasuk orang yang paling baik dalam berbahasa dibandingkan anak-anak di usianya. Oleh karena itu, Rasulullah pernah berkata; “Ana afshohul ‘Arab Baida annii min Quraisy wa nasya’tu  fi bani sa’di ibni Bakr”. Beliau selalu menggunakan sedikit kata, tetapi sarat  makna. Tuturannya penuh kesiapan dan tidak bersifat spontan dan selalu mengedepankan keindahan dan kasih sayang. Dalam kajian pragmatik terdapat prinsip-prinsip kesantunan, yakni maksim kebijaksanaan, maksim kemurahan, maksim penerimaan, maksim kerendahan hati, maksim kecocokan, dan maksim kesimpatian. Pertuturan Rasulullah senantiasa tidak lepas dari prinsip-prinsip kesantunan tersebut

Abstract

Lembaga pendidikan, dalam hal ini adalah madrasah memiliki peran dalam membentuk anak didik sebagai  ndividu dan juga sebagai anggota masyarakat yang baik. Dengan demikian, tulisan ini akan mencoba melihat peran madrasah secara sosiologi. Bagaimana madrasah memerankan diri sebagai “masyarakat kecil” dalam menuju masyarakat yang besar dan sebenarnya. Dan juga bagaimana ia mampu mencetak output pendidikan yang tidak hanya cakap dalam tataran kognitif, tetapi juga tataran afektif dan psikomotoriknya. Untuk merealisasikan konsep ini, madrasah sebagai bentuk masyarakat kecil dapat melakukan beberapa hal, yaitu: membuat desain kurikulum yang berdasarkan pada kebutuhan masyarakat; menciptakan model komunikasi intensif di kalangan stakeholders madrasah melalui kegiatan diskusi dan problem solving; membentuk iklim sekolah yang terbuka, bebas terarah, dan iklim kekeluargaan dan persaudaraan. Dalam praktik, paling tidak secara sosiologis, madrasah harus berperan dalam tiga hal; membekali ilmu pengetahuan, membentuk kepribadian moral dan sosial, melatih berbagai kecakapan hidup.

Abstract

Abstract: There is a thought that the moral crisis that occurred inour students one of them is caused by the inappropriate curriculumconcepts given. Existing curricula tend to be oriented to thedevelopment of intellectual and less attention to the development ofthe moral aspects (affective domain). Another factor is the design ofthe curriculum tends to be partial. It means that the realm of scienceand moral aspects are separated according to subjects. Mathematics,Science, Chemistry, Economics, etc are the types of special subjectsdeliberately given to the students to equip science. While thedevelopment of moral and personality assumed by some teachers /educators as the duty of the subjects of Religion, character, citizenship,and other similar subjects. Likewise, philosophically, the curriculumexisted today are not integrated nor based on the concept of human(students). In anticipation of these problems above, a concept ofintegrated subjects is needed. It is the concept of subjects containingknowledge resulting from the study of philosophical formulations whichcontained a full and comprehensive knowledge. The formulation ofknowledge contained on these subjects includes not only theknowledge that examined ontologically, but also includes assessedknowledge epistemologically and axiologically. The concept ofintegrated lessons is also supportive to the efforts of developing theconcept of subjects based on students’ potential. This concept isexpected to equip children as a whole, that is educating the children who will not only have knowledge, but possessing good manners aswell.

Abstract

Seni dan budaya yang masih berlaku dan sampai saat ini masih dilaksanakan oleh sebagian besar masyarakat Rifa’iyah tidak dipahami semata-mata sebagai kegiatan yang menghibur akan tetapi bentuk seni dan budaya tersebut dijadikan oleh masyarakat Rifa’iyah sebagai media dakwah tentang nilia-nilai dan ajaran-ajaran agama. Bentuk-bentuk kesenian Rfa’iyah juga memiliki nilai historis, dimana ada sebagian bentuk kesenian yang merupakan bentuk atau simbol perlawanan kepada para penguasa (pemerintahan) yang dianggap tidak adil dan juga kepada kaum kolonial, dalam hal ini adalah penjajah Belanda. Di samping itu, bentuk kesenian dan budaya Rifa’iyah juga merupakan local identity di kalangan mereka sendiri bahkan menjadi pengikat kuat secara kultural di kalangan mereka. Di antara bentuk seni dan budaya Rifa’iayah yang masih ada adalah; Sya’ir-syair Jawa dalam kitab Tarajumah, Qashidahan dan Gamelan Pesantren (terbangan), Seni Kaligrafi Arab Pegon, Bentuk Pakaian dan Perumahan Jawa, dan Seni Batik Rifa’iyah. Semua bentuk seni dan budaya ini memiliki nilai historis dan makna sendiri-sendiri.

Abstract

This study discusses form and dimensions of a text regarding multiculturalism concept in the ulama books of the 20th century, how the text was produced and consumed by the community, and the sociocultural praxis contained in it. The collected data were analyzed by using descriptive method and content analysis. The results of this study show that multiculturalism discourses written by Indonesian Ulama include: appreciation of Javanese language locality, gender equality, respect for the diversity of local economic potentials, the importance of national unity and counter to the negative stigma of Indonesian archipelago. At the level of text, multiculturalism discourses are written in the form of nadham and natsar (prose), and the language variety ​​used is Arabic pegon script. In the case of social praxis, multicultural values ​​are divided into two, namely social and religious discourse. The social discourse discusses social problems, equality, the importance of respecting differences as well as loving the motherland, while the religious discourse describes some problems developed in the society. In this case, the religious proposition is used as a basis for strengthening as well as elaborating the muticulturalism values.

Abstract

Treasures of the Javanese Muslim clerics (Kiais) thought on nationalism contained in their books have made a valuable contribution in maintaining Indonesia as a unitary state. Their papers discuss not only religious issues but also the values of nationalism. This study is aimed at examining the linguistic dimensions, the praxis-discourse, and the socio-cultural-political aspects of their books. It incorporates both critical discourse analysis and content analysis. From the profound analysis, the study concludes that, first, the texts concerning nationalism in a number of the Kiais’ books can be seen through their linguistic dimension. These linguistic dimensions are partly found in the books written by Kiais from coastal areas. Second, at the level of praxis-discourse, those books are mostly written in Pegon script. The preservation of Arabic Pegon is meant not only to facilitate Javanese society in learning but also to indicate the Kiais' love of the local language, which is part of the national identity. Third, those books were mostly written during the struggle of the Indonesian people against the colonizers. While writing and teaching their religious texts, the pesantren Kiais instill values of the importance of loving and caring for the motherland.

Abstract

One of the most phenomenal grammatical books in Indonesian pesantren is Kitab Alfiyah Ibn Malik. The book was arranged in the form of poetry, which consists of 1002 poems. This book is studied with rote methods. Many santri are able to memorize a thousand poems. Uniquely, many kiai who often make that poem as a proposition of other sciences such as fiqh, tasawuf, and morals. This study focuses on the phenomenon of interpretation of the grammatical poems among Arab scholars and Islamic scholars in Indonesia. Besides this study also observes patterns and mechanisms interpreting Alfiyah poems as a linguistic study and constructing moral values santri in boarding school. This study used intertextual method and critical discourse analysis. The data are analyzed by Norman Fairlough’s content analysis and critical discourse. This study found that the book Alfiyah Ibn Malik taught in the boarding school not only memorized by the students but also interpreted by the kiai to the philosophical meaning. The interpretation of the kiai on Alfiyah's poems is very broadly encompassing religious values i.e. honesty, discipline, hard work, independence, creativity, democracy, homeland love, social concern, and responsibility.Salah satu buku gramatikal yang sangat fenomenal di pesantren Indonesia adalah kitab Alfiyah Ibn Malik. Kitab ini disusun dalam bentuk syair, yang terdiri dari 1002 sajak. Di pesantren Indonesia, kitab ini dikaji dengan motode hafalan. Banyak para santri yang mampu menghafal seribu sajak itu. Uniknya, banyak para kiai yang seringkali menjadikan sajak-sajak itu sebagai dalil dari ilmu-ilmu lain seperti fiqh, tasawuf, dan akhlak. Kajian ini mengamati fenomena tafsiran sajak-sajak gramatikal itu di kalangan ulama Arab dan kiai pesantren di Indonesia. Selain itu kajian ini juga mengamati pola dan mekanisme menafsirkan sajak-sajak Alfiyah sebagai kajian kebahasaan dan penanaman nilai-nilai moral santri di pondok pesantren. Metode yang digunakan meliputi metode intertekstual dan analisis wacana kritis. Adapun teknik analisis data yang yang digunakan adalah content analysis (analisis isi) dan analsis wacana (critical discourse) Norman Fairlough. Dari hasil peneltian ini ditemukan bahwa kitab Alfiyah Ibnu Malik yang diajarkan di pondok pesantren tidak hanya dihapal oleh para santri tapi juga ditafsirkan oleh para kiai kepada makna filosofis. Penafsiran para kiai atas sajak-sajak Alfiyah ini sangat luas mencakup nilai-nilai agama, kejujuran, kedisiplinan, kerja keras, kemandirian, kreativitas, demokrasi, cinta tanah air, kepedulian sosial dan tanggung jawab.
