Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) essentially has the fundamental duty to explore, analyze, develop and introduce the teachings of Islam based on Qur’an and hadith. Hence, Islamic Religious Education (PAI) is required to implement new approaches and orientations that are relevant to contemporary conditions, without ignoring the values of Islamic teaching. But in practice, the transcendence of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) has been lost while juxtaposed with High School (SMU). There are at least three main elements that influence the formation of character Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in high school, among others: Teachers, Students, and Environment (space and time). Thus, the success or failure of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in high school depends on the mutual relations of those all three.

Abstract

The endeavor to search philosophical foundation to develop the curriculum of Islamic sciences in the Islamic Religion College (PTAI) has been done. As the Ministry of National Education (MONE), for example, which has spawned a thematic-integrated curriculum model, it should have been by Ministry of Religious Affairs (MORA), PTAI, in this case, must also have the characteristic of integrative curriculum. The first and major step in the process to find the model, must be preceded by searching philosophical foundation, whether it uses one pillar, two pillars, three pillars, and so on? To find this philosophical foundation, the authors use 'model theory' on the relationship between religion and science, which is patterned into several types of models, namely: monadic (religion), dyadic (religion and science), triadic (religion, philosophy, and science), and so on. All three models are also identical with some kind of form of the  relationship between science, namely: mono-disciplinary and intra-disciplinary (monadic); interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary (dyadic), as well as trans-disciplinary (triadic). As a result, one of the alternative philosophical foundation that can be used to develop the curriculum of Islamic sciences in PTAI is “triadic” model and it is a model of Integration-Interconnection Curriculum.

Abstract: Educational materials that span the ‘hierarchy in varioussubjects in elementary school, as well as local curriculum materials, can serve as an instrument for the formation of the character ofstudents. Therefore, the formation of character typology can beinfluenced by external and internal factors, both tangible educational, environmental, genetic and gene stimulation as well as ways ofthinking. In essence, every subject, including lessons in primaryschools never be separated from values, both aesthetic values, ethics, fairness doctrine, fairness, freedom and order, equality, harmony, solidarity, courage, love of peace, discipline, loyalty , empathy andothers. Since all the real subject matter is never value-free and thematerials are very influential on the character formation of students, then the extortion to the values contained in it are things that mustbe done for the later revealed and transmitted to students. The processof internalization of proficiency level, into the private learners, can bedone by means of analysis and clarification of values for habituationvalues contained in the elementary school subjects.
