<![CDATA[An array of teaching tools have been developed enormously today sparking interest for educators in their instruction. Edmodo, which is also one of the CALL applications that can be accessed online both from computer and mobile telephone is one option for teachers and students and can be operated to post various things related to EFL teaching-learning process. However, many educators are reluctant to embed with them pedagogical function which coming along in the use of Edmodo. This research employed open-ended questionnaire which is spread to English Language Education ULM students who are taking Extensive Reading course. This research contributes to picture out perception in implementing Edmodo as Web-Quest as well Learning Management System (LMS) in online classroom instructional activities. The result of this study shows that the involvement of Edmodo to material delivery still does not encounter the predicted expectation. The limited storing material in the application and lack of feedback of the task through the media are the reasons of the barrier. In conclusion, the use of Edmodo needs to be developed along with the mindset of students centered activities.]]>

<![CDATA[Motivation is one of the most important factors and greatly influences the learning process. The purpose of this study was to determine how the level of motivation of students in the speaking class during the new nomal era, namely the second semester students of the English Department of IAIN Bengkulu. This study used a descriptive quantitative approach. The techniques used in collecting data were questionnaire and interview. The questionnaire consists of 36 questions divided into intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. The data are presented statistically using percentage, frequency, arithmetic mean, and standard deviation division. The results showed that the mean score of intrinsic motivation (3.89) was higher than the average score of extrinsic motivation (3.39). However, the overall motivation average of 3.68 is considered a high level of motivation despite currently studying in the Covid-19 pandemic conditions. The results of this study indicate that the majority of students learn English in the speaking class because of intrinsic motivation. They actively speak and learn English because of their own inner desires. Based on the findings of this study, several relevant learning implications and useful motivations are recommended to increase student motivation.]]>

<![CDATA[ This research aimed to find out the variations of teaching and learning based on Bloom’s Taxonomy, this research focused on the classroom learning activities in the lesson plans. This research employed a descriptive qualitative study. The subject of the research was nine lesson plans that developed by teahers at SMPIT IQRA. The data of this research was the classroom learning activities were classified the variations of teaching and learning based on Bloom’s Taxonomy stated in the 2013 Curriculum. The first finding showed that, there were some variations in classroom learning activities of lesson plans. By three domains of learning based on Bloom’s Taxonomy, those are Cognitive, Affective and Psychomotor. The teachers were fulfilled the criteria of learning activities in lesson plans. But, the lesson plans still need to increase and remake the team of lesson plans system, because the lesson plans that used by teachers were same to each class in the same level. ]]>

<![CDATA[The objective of this research was to find out the types of pronunciation errors are made by the seventh semester students of English education study program at Bengkulu University in the academic year 2020/2021. This research used a descriptive quantitative method. 94 students as the total population 30 students were chosen randomly as the samples. The instrument of the research were pronunciation test and interview. The test comprises 52 sentences which contain 13 silent letters i.e. “k, gh, th, g, p, l, t, s, w, n, b, h, d”. Each letter appears 4 times in the test. The results of the research showed that the students made two types of errors namely pre-systematic errors and systematic errors. The pre-systematic errors occurred more frequently than the systematic errors. The highest errors made by the students were silent letters “g” (e.g. gnaw) and “b” (e.g. doubt) which total numbers of errors of each of them were 93 times (77%). It could be concluded that the students faced high difficulties in pronouncing the silent letters which completely different from Indonesian phonetic system. It was recommended that the English lecturers should pay more attention to students’ pronunciation and find more suitable method or technique of teaching it and students should study harder about the silent letters in English language.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to investigate the most dominant emotions experienced by EFL teachers in the Indonesian context. Two kinds of questionnaires were employed in this study. This research involved participants of Bandung English Teachers. They were 72 EFL teachers who participated on the general scale of phase 1 and 68 EFL teachers who joined the specific scale questionnaire of phase 2. Three dimensions of emotions were explored in this research to know the level of emotions faced by teachers. Also, positive and negative emotions have been explored in this paper. A quantitative descriptive method was used to examine the data from two questionnaires as the main research instrument. This study adapted the Teacher Emotion Scale invented by Frenzel et al. (2016). The descriptive findings show that from two studies enjoyment is the most frequently experienced and anger is the lowest dimension of emotion preferred by EFL teachers. This study has proven the reliability of the research instrument. The research analysis shows that there is an insignificant difference between the two studies and both of them have a very close resemblance.]]>

<![CDATA[The purposes of this study were to find out the functions of apostrophes used in the students’ theses and to identify the quality of students’ understanding in using apostrophes. The objects of this research were 40 theses of 2015 English students who graduated in 2019. The instruments of this research were documents and a table checklist that were used to find out the functions and errors of apostrophes in introduction, results and discussion chapters. The data were analyzed by using descriptive quantitative method. The results showed that there were five functions of apostrophes including plural possession (65.9%), singular possession (29.1%), contraction (3.9%), separate possession (0.6%), and joint possession (0.5%). In addition, there were four types of errors consisting of possession words without apostrophes (57.1%), apostrophes in the wrong places (37.8%), plural nouns with apostrophes and the letter s (3.8%), and contractions without apostrophes (1.3%). From the calculation, the percentage of all errors was 25% which indicated that the quality of the students’ understanding of the use of apostrophes was at a “high” level. It can be concluded that the students already understands the use of apostrophes well. ]]>

<![CDATA[The Covid-19 Pandemic situation made the Government announce online learning activities. This policy and it was relationship with teacher strategy at interesting teaching to learn. So that, This research was focused on the strategy that the teacher and used in impelemanting learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. Namely distance learning (PJJ), so that it could runned effectively, optimally, and run well. This research aimed to describe the strategy of teachers in teaching Speking during the Covid-19 Pandemic. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach. The research subject was class VIIB English teacher, and grade VIIB students. Data collection techniques in this research were observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the research show that the teacher used an expository strategy that emphasized the teaching and learning process directed to achieve learning objectives. Analysis of online teacher learning methods with virtual media as a supporting means used two learning methods, first, the assignment method through the google classroom application, the results of the answer sheets were collected directly to the school, and then the second learning method was question and answer through Zoom Meeting and WhatsApp Group. The conclusion obtained from this research was that the teacher strategy in teaching speaking at Junior High School Prabumulih during the Covid-19 Pandemic could be seen from: teaching objectives, teaching approach, and teaching methods.]]>

<![CDATA[ The study aims to find out the nursing students of AKPER YPTK Solok need in developing English materials. This research is classified as mixed method research design; qualitative research and survey research. In this research, there are two instruments; questionnaire and interview guidelines. The questionnaire aims to gain and collect information from students related to English teaching and learning. Interview guideline is used to gather information from English lecturer at AKPER YPTK Solok. The results of this research show that; (1) there are some skills and English components that are needed by the nursing students of AKPER YPTK Solok, they are; speaking skill, reading skill, vocabulary mastery, and grammar mastery. (2) This research also found that nursing students of AKPER YPTK Solok want English materials, including grammar and vocabulary related to nursing field to be more focused in teaching and learning process. Based on the results, it can be concluded that in developing English materials for nursing students, the lecturers and decision maker should know what the students and work field need through students; need analysis.]]>

<![CDATA[This research aims to identify pronunciation errors position made by students in the English Education Study Program University of Bengkulu and the sound that had the highest error percentage. This research was a descriptive quantitative research. To collect data, the researcher took 19 students from 94 students of the 7th semester in the academic year 2020/2021. The pronunciation test used in this study consisted of 35 words, each of which had one of the seven fricative sounds tested. To analyze the data obtained, researcher used the Audacity application with the help of Google Translate application. Audacity is used to see the amplitude generated from students. Meanwhile, Google Translate is a tool for comparing received pronunciation and pronunciation produced by students. The results of this study revealed that the most pronunciation errors that made by students occurred in the final position when compared the initial and medial. In addition, among seven fricative sounds, / ? / was the highest percentage of errors with 78%. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the students' pronunciation ability of fricative sounds not affected on the level of the semester is taken but it depends on the position and the fricative sound.]]>

<![CDATA[Building nation character should be always done specially by the teacher in the school bacause nation character is one of fundamental elements in preventing this nation from the attack of foreign or western cultures which are not suitable with our cultures. This study aimed at decribing how the character values inserted in teaching grammar using jigsaw and what values were inserted. The study used descriptive qualitative field research. The data obtained through observation, and interview. After analyzing the data, it was found that character values were inserted through jigsaw activity. The character values found were tolerance, democratic, curiousity, communicative, responsible. This reseach is expected to contribute to build nation character through teaching and learning process.]]>
