Abstract

This development research aims to produce a product in the form of a physics learning device with a problem based learning model on Momentum and Impulse material to improve students' higher-order thinking skills. The type of research is Research and Development (R&D) with a 4D model consisting of Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The products developed are syllabus, online learning implementation plans, student worksheets equipped with PhET simulation instructions, and higher order thinking ability test instruments. Product validity was assessed by five validators with Likert scale analysis. Furthermore, the effectiveness of the device is determined from a limited trial to get the N-gain value. The results of the study based on the validator's assessment showed that the overall device developed had an average value of above 3.00 in the good category, then the average N-gain test results obtained a value of 0.34 in the medium category. Thus, it can be concluded that the development of problem based learning physics learning tools on Momentum and Impulse material is valid, and effective for improving students' higher order thinking skills.

Abstract

Inetractive learning media is a medium that can help students and teachers in learning.This study aims to see the role of science teachers in the use of instructional media. This type of research is qualitative non-experimental. The population of this study were students of SMPN 2 Singai Aur Pasaman Barat. Sampling using purposive sampling. Data were collected through a questionnaire with 2 indicators. Based on data analysis using statistical data in the form of percentages and relative frequencies, it was found that the indicator of teacher control of the media used had a score of 94.61% and the media indicators used were good, efficient, and could attract the attention of students in the learning process 88.31%so that it could be concluded that the role of science teachers in the use of interactive learning media has a score of 91.46% with a good category.DOI: 10.29408/kpj.v4i2.2838

Abstract

Fault is a displacement of the land with a certain direction and shift that triggers an earthquake. The existence of faults that are not visible on the surface can be identified by measuring the gravity anomaly above the earth's surface around the fault zone. This study was conducted with the aim of testing the effectiveness of radial derivatives for identification of fault zones, i.e the presence and positions of faults. Radial derivative is a horizontal derivative of the earth's gravity anomaly value with the radial direction away from a certain point that is considered as the radial center. Gravity anomaly data used in this study is synthetic data from computer calculations using the principle of forward modeling from a fault model. This model is in the form of a displacement of the rocks making up the soil at a depth of 100 m with a vertical shift direction of 4 m with an area of the fault zone 600 m x 600 m or 360,000 m2. This synthetic gravity data is then performed a radial derivative treatment. The results of this study show that radial derivatives are able to identify the presence and position of the fault.

Abstract

Kualitas pendidikan saat ini masih menjadi permasalahan mendasar dalam usaha perbaikan mutu system pendidikan nasional. Kondisi pembelajaran di perguruan tinggi masih cukup beragam, dosen memiliki metode yang beragam dalam mengekspor kemampuan mahasiswa dalan perkuliahan. Dalam proses perkuliahan mata kuliah fisika Dasar I, mahasiswa sulit mengajukan pertanyaan, mahasiswa terlihat pasif. Berdasarkan nilai kemampuan awal yang diperoleh nilai mahasiswa sangat beragam dan memiliki pemahaman konsep yang rendah pada kegiatan menganalisis permasalahan dan aktivitas belajar mahasiswa masih rendah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui bagaimana implementasi pembelajaran berbasis masalah melalui Lesson Study dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan aktivitas belajar mahasiswa semester I program Studi Pendidikan Fisika, Universitas Hamzanwadi.  Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif berupa Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan mengikuti pola Lesson Study. Terdiri dari dua siklus, masing-masing siklus berisi perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan dan refleksi. Peneliti di bantu empat orang observer yaitu dosen Program studi pendidikan Fisika Universitas Hamzanwadi.  Hasil penelitian ini berupa data prestasi belajar mahasiswa dengan pola pembelajaran berbasis masalah maka diperoleh hasil peningkatan pada aspek kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada mahasiswa semester I Program Studi Pendidikan Fisika Universitas Hamzanwadi sebagai berikut: (1) Kemampuan memahami masalah meningkat dari 99% meningkat menjadi 100%; (2) Kemampuan merencanakan pemecahan masalah meningkat dari 54% menjadi 61%; (3) Kemampuan Menyelesaikan masalah meningkat dari 55% menjasi 60% , dan (5) kemampuan Menyelesaikan solusi meningkat dari 64% menjadi 72%. Berdasarkan taraf keberhasilan klasikal diperoleh mahasiswa dengan nilai baik sebesar 46% meningkat menjadi 61%. Selanjutnya data aktivitas mahasiswa mengalami peningkatan sebagai berikut: (1) Kemampuan Mengemukakan Pendapat Secara Logis meningkat dari 75% pada meningkat menjadi 94%; (2) Kemampuan Kerja sama meningkat dari 76% menjadi 93%; (3) Kemampuan Mengambil Keputusan meningkat dari 69% menjasi 83%, dan (5) Tanggung Jawab meningkat dari 78% menjadi 83%. Berdasarkan taraf keberhasilan klasikal diperoleh mahasiswa dengan nilai baik sebesar 57% pada siklus I meningkat menjadi 86% pada siklus II. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa Implementasi Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah Melalui Lesson Study dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan aktivitas belajar Mahasiswa Semester I Program Studi Pendidikan Fisika Universitas Hamzanwadi

Abstract

The presence of media in the learning process acts as a tool to prevent communication failures between teachers and students. This study aims to determine the effect of Annotated Illustration and PhET media on physics learning achievement on Dynamic Electricity material. The research method used in this study is a quantitative research method. While the type of research is experimental research. In this study, the PhET media was applied to the experimental class, while the Annotated Illustrations media was applied to the control class. The calculation results obtained = 3.836 and = 2.056 at a significant level of 5% and dk = 1 + 2. Therefore > , so that the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected or the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, which means that there is a difference in the effect of Annotated Illustrations and PhET on physics learning achievement on Dynamic Electricity material.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: 1) Knowing the characteristics of the product development model of PAKDE lecture based on a scientific approach; 2) Knowing the effectiveness of the application of the PAKDE lecture model based on a scientific approach in improving student learning achievement; and 3) Knowing the effectiveness of the application of the PAKDE lecture model based on a scientific approach in improving the scientific attitude of students. The procedure in this study adapts the development of a 4-D model device developed by Thiagarajan. Field trials using the Wave class with a pretest posttest control group design. Data collection techniques used validation sheets for feasibility data, observation sheets for implementation data, and multiple choice tests for learning achievement data in the cognitive domain of students and questionnaires for data on students' scientific attitudes. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistics to determine the characteristics of the PAKDE lecture model based on a scientific approach, the n-gain score test to determine the increase in learning achievement and the t test to determine the difference in average cognitive learning achievement. The results showed that: 1) The characteristics of the PAKDE lecture model based on the scientific approach that was developed were concluded to be very good; 2) The application of the PAKDE lecture model based on a scientific approach is effective in improving student learning achievement; 3) The application of the PAKDE lecture model based on a scientific approach is effective in improving the scientific attitude of students.

Abstract

This study aims to create a tool that can explain the event of the photoelectric effect on a laboratory scale. So that the existence of a tool that can explain the photoelectric effect will make it easier for users to study the nature of light as a particle. This tool is designed according to its function which will find out that the photoelectric effect event is not influenced by light intensity but is influenced by the frequency of a light source and the wavelength that illuminates a metal so that electrons will move from a negative source towards a positive voltage source. In the manufacture of these tools, a photodiode is used as a light sensor where when the photodiode is illuminated by light it will cause electrons to move from the cathode to the anode and make an electric current flow. To determine the stopping voltage, a voltage is applied to the cathode where the electrons are ejected. This stopping voltage for each wavelength is different. From the ongoing data retrieval, a graphic relationship is obtained between the ADC value and the Sensor Output Voltage. Thus, it can be concluded that, First, the voltage applied to the photodiode (cathode) is different for each color spectrum. Second, the output voltage obtained for each different wavelength, the less light intensity received by the photodiode, the smaller the output voltage value. The amount of output voltage for each LED color is different because the wavelength of each color is also different so the value is not the same.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the improvement of students' science process skills through a virtual laboratory based on PHET simulation on electrical materials. This study is a quantitative study using a quasi-experimental nonequivalent control group design. This research was conducted for 6 months on second-semester students, totaling 140 students. The instruments in this research are observations, interviews, and tests. The increase in science process skills was analyzed using the N-Gain value. The results of the analysis show that learning physics through a virtual laboratory based on PHET simulation is proven to improve students' science process skills. The improvement of science process skills in the experimental class was better than in the control class.

Abstract

The impact of high-intensity noise can cause discomfort for crew and ship passengers. The noise is partly caused by the maine engine which is the biggest noise source. So it is necessary to find a solution on how to reduce noise and the impact of the noise. The purpose of this study was to determine the magnitude of the sound intensity and the effect of sound intensity on the comfort of the crew and passengers. The research was conducted using the Sound Level Meter (SLM) application. Measurements made in the passenger compartment and an average of 66.4 dB to 73.6 dB indicate that the ship's engine noise level when operating is included in the strong category according to Suma'mur's study, 2009, but does not cause deafness and hearing damage.

Abstract

This research is aim to develop or to make a physics tool model with simple used materials for straight motion learning. This research is development research. The Method in this resenta depelovment is ADDIE, which means Analysis, Design, Development and Implementation. To test this product development, the resentati make validation through material expert, media expert, teacher questionnaire response subject matter, and students response questionnaire and worksheet learning resentatio test. The technique of data collection usesquestionnaire and test. The data analysis of distribute resentation is done by data tabulation from each validator, resulted anresent score and compare with 5 scale. Based on the measurement from three media expert shows that the tool model include suitable category with a value resentation are 88%. While, based on the assessment from three material expert shows that the quality of the tool model with suitable category of resentation value are 89,34%. Based on three teachers subject learning show that the quality of the tool model including very suitable category of resentation value are 93%. While, the assessment from the students including very good suitable category score are 88,3%. The data result from students learning used this tool model get the value 80 which is above the KKM. It can be shows that the pyshics tool model with simple used material is effective in learning process at MAS NW Kalijaga
