Abstract

Short story is one part of literary works in the form of prose. Short stories or short stories, which are more popular with the acronym short story, are one of the most popular types of fiction written by people. This study aims to determine the ability of class X students of Eria Private Vocational School Medan in the 2021-2022 learning year in writing short stories. The population in this study were all students of class X SMK Private Eria Medan, totaling 38 students with reasons below 100, so the sample was from the entire population. The research design used in this study was a quasi-experimental design. By using a research design of one group pre-test and post-test design group. The instrument used is an essay test to write short stories. The average value before using the guided method was 65.60, while the average value after using the guided method was 79.71. Thus it is said that the test score using the guided method is higher than before using the guided method. Based on the data above, it can be concluded that the guided method has a positive effect on the ability of class X students at the Eria Private Vocational School in Medan for the 2021-2022 academic year in writing short storiesShort story is one part of literary works in the form of prose. Abstract

Language cannot be separated from human life. Interaction is something that occurs in social activities between individuals, using language intermediaries as media. Language is a sound symbol system that is arbitrary and meaningful, used by the community or a group as a means of communication. The language that is spoken by each individual sometimes gets interference, when acquiring language with unclear pronunciation of words. This research is related to language disorders in children aged 7 years, (psycholinguistic study) with the aim of identifying language disorders and their causes. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data were obtained by using the technique of listening to interviews. The results of the research were obtained in the form of language disorders namely, lisp (lipsing), pelo (slurring) and the release of the phoneme money due to internal and external reasons.

Abstract

This research describes the value of the main character's struggle in the novel Laut Tengah by Berliana Kimberly using qualitative methods and a literary sociology approach. Data collection techniques are reading and note-taking techniques. Based on the data found, it can be concluded that the struggle values of the main characters in the novel Laut Tengah by Berliana Kimberly are as follows (1) the value of being willing to sacrifice is 5 data, (2) the value of unity is 1 data, (3) the value of respect is 2 data, (4) the value of patience is 3 data, (5) the value of the spirit of never giving up is 4 data, (6) the value of cooperation is 2 data. So it can be concluded that the researcher found the value of the main character's struggle in the novel Laut Tengah by Berliana Kimberly with 17 pieces of data.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh dalam kepenulisan sebuah teks narasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMAS RIZKI ANANDA pada siswa kelas X semester 2 tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Jumlah populasi disekolah ini adalah 69 siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah true eksperiment dengn post test only control desain. Pengambilan data berdasarkan random sampling dimana data ini diperoleh dari kelas X saja, karena total kelas untuk kelas X hanya satu sehingga penelitian ini tidak memiliki kelas control, namun hanya memiliki kelas eksperimen sebagai acuan peneliti melakukan penelitian mengambil data. Dikelas X ini dilakukan 4 kali penelitian, 2 kali penelitian tanpa menggunakan aplikasi, dengan diakhiri mengerjakan 10 soal setelah pertemuan sedangkan 2 kali penelitian terakhir menggunakan aplikasi wattpad , dengan memberikan 2 soal diakhir pembelajar agar dapat menjadi acuan data perbandingan. Hasil penelitian yang didapatkan pada penelitian kali ini adalah uji t yaitu t hitung 0,05 (2,0480,05). Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan aplikasi  wattpad memiliki pengaruh dalam memabantu peserta didik dalam menulis sebuah teks narasi bagi kelas X SMAS RIZKI ANANDA

Abstract

The background of this research is that students are still very dependent on teachers and are not used to looking for alternative problem solving independently. The purpose of this study is to analyze and describe the structure of the procedural text on the results of student worksheets in the application of project-based learning models in class VIIF students. The structure of the procedure text that will be described includes the title, objectives, tools and materials and the steps. The method in this research is descriptive qualitative which will later describe the structure of the procedure text on student worksheets. The techniques used in this research are test techniques and non-test techniques. Evidence at the observation stage students are able to make a good title according to the contents of the procedure text steps made, are able to describe the purpose of the procedure text according to the written procedure text, are able to mention tools and materials in full as needed, and are able to mention the steps for using conjunctions, prohibitive sentences, imperative sentences, and solicitation sentences.

Abstract

The focus in this study is language on Facebook social media, especially those concerning grammar and spelling that can affect the understanding and interpretation of messages by readers. Facebook social media has become one of the most popular communication platforms among the public.  This research refers to Andika Suphryadi's Facebook account status posts and comments uploaded from 2021-2022. This type of research is a qualitative description research that aims to describe in detail in the form of data collected in language research, namely in the form of words instead of numbers. Language errors in this study in Facebook status uploads concluded that errors found in Facebook social media accounts were 12 data, including 6 phoneme omission errors, 3 phoneme usage errors, 2 capital letter errors. Hence, the importance of communicating correctly and appropriately in social media. As social media users, we should always strive to improve language skills and double-check uploads before they are posted to avoid unnecessary mistakes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media Audio Visual Channel Youtube "AkuPaham - Biografi, Inspirasi, Motivasi" terhadap Kemampuan Menulis Teks Biografi oleh Siswa Kelas X SMA Islam Al Ulum Terpadu Medan Tahun Pembelajaran 2022/2023. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas X SMA Islam Al Ulum Terpadu Medan. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X-1 yang berjumlah 36 siswa. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan Pre-Experimental Design dengan bentuk desain One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Instrumen yang digunakan oleh peneliti untuk mengukur keberhasilan media ini adalah tes tertulis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, kemampuan menulis teks biografi sebelum menggunakan media audio visual, rata-rata 57,36, termasuk ke dalam kategori kurang atau gagal. Sedangkan kemampuan menulis teks biografi sesudah menggunakan media audio visual rata-rata 83,88 termasuk ke dalam kategori baik. Berdasarkan uji t diketahui nilai thitung ttabel yaitu 9,47 1,666 dengan hipotesis ini terbukti diterima. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan media audio visual Channel Youtube "AkuPaham - Biografi, Inspirasi, Motivasi" terhadap Kemampuan Menulis Teks Biografi oleh Siswa Kelas X SMA Islam Al Ulum Terpadu Medan Tahun Pembelajaran 2022/2023.

Abstract

As the aim of learning Indonesian at school is to develop students' language skills, both orally and in writing. Students are expected to have language skills, because language plays an important role in human life, especially in Indonesian subjects. The purpose of this research is to develop students' writing skills with bestie journal media. The method used in this research is development research. This research was conducted in class IV of Tahfidz Aulia Private Elementary School starting in January 2023. The samples used were 22 class IV Abu Bakar Ash Siddiq students and 16 class IV Umar Bin Khattab students. The instruments used in this study were media validation sheets, observation sheets on the implementation of the learning process, and assessment sheets for students' writing skills. This research is said to be successful if there is an increase in the value of students' writing skills. Based on the results of the analysis carried out in this study, it can be stated that the development of bestie journal media to improve the writing skills of fourth-grade elementary school students were declared successful by making improvements to the learning process plan, implementing the learning process and providing support to students in the form of learning motivation. The success of this study was demonstrated by the mastery of student learning in cycle II where there were 70% of students scored more than 75 which was indicated by an average value of 78.22 and a standard deviation of 3.45 which previously only had an average value of 65. 27 and a standard deviation of 3.575 with completeness in the first cycle of 63.63%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Round Club terhadap kemampuan menganalisis unsur cerita pendek pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Islam Al-Ulum Terpadu Medan tahun pembelajaran 2022/2023. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas VIII SMP Islam Al-Ulum Terpadu Medan. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII-B dan VIII-E yang berjumlah 62 siswa. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan desain postest only control design. Instrumen yang digunakan oleh peneliti untuk mengukur keberhasilan model ini adalah tes tertulis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, kemampuan menganalisis unsur cerita pendek dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning rata-rata 72,61, termasuk ke dalam kategori cukup. Sedangkan kemampuan menganalisis unsur cerita pendek dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Round Club rata-rata 81,45 termasuk ke dalam kategori baik. Berdasarkan uji t diketahui nilai thitung ttabel yaitu 3,21 1,670 dengan hipotesis ini terbukti diterima. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan model pembelajaran Round Club terhadap kemampuan menganalisis unsur cerita pendek pada kelas VIII SMP Islam Al-Ulum Terpadu Medan Tahun Pembelajaran 2022/2023.

Abstract

A language is a communication tool used in everyday life, including in social media, without using language, communication will not work properly. The use of language in social media is interesting because it can be observed as related to sentence structure which refers to syntax, morphology, semantics, phonology, and pragmatics. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to find out students' use of language on social media in terms of grammar and language variations. The research conducted is a descriptive analysis that will provide an overview of the phenomena studied with a qualitative approach based on observations of students' use of language on social media. The sample used in this study were 4 students of class X SMA Edu Global School who have accounts on Instagram and WhatsApp social media. The selection of this sample was done randomly. The instruments used were observation sheets for grammatical errors and observation sheets for language variations. The data collected was then analyzed descriptively to show an overview of students' use of grammar and language variations in social media. The results of observations on students' use of language on social media, it can be concluded that there are errors in the use of student grammar on social media, for example, errors in writing words and phrases, errors in the use of punctuation marks such as periods, errors in the concept of repeating words, rarely or never using capitalize the initial letters and use abbreviations for a word or errors in writing/typing. In addition, there are three language variations used by students on social media, namely: language variations between Indonesian and English, local languages, and slang; the use of non-formal language caused by using word abbreviations; and language variations caused by using forms of expression/onomatopoeia.Language is a communication tool used in everyday life, including in social media, without using language, communication will not work properly.
