Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of work-life balance, workload, work motivation, and leadership style on the performance of PT Berkah Bersama OJESA drivers from a Human Resource Management (HRMS) perspective. The background of this study stems from the need for sharia transportation companies to manage human resources effectively while still paying attention to work welfare and Islamic values in special services for women. This study employed a quantitative approach with a survey method, distributing questionnaires to 34 active drivers at PT Berkah Bersama OJESA. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with the aid of SmartPLS 4 software. The results showed that workload significantly impacted driver performance. This finding indicates that the workload assigned to drivers is at a level that encourages productivity and focus, resulting in optimal performance. Meanwhile, work-life balance, work motivation, and leadership style did not significantly influence driver performance. This indicates that these variables are not yet the dominant factors influencing driver performance at PT Berkah Bersama OJESA, both due to relatively homogeneous driver perceptions and job characteristics that are more influenced by operational factors than psychological and leadership factors. This research provides theoretical contributions to the study of MSDI, particularly in organizations based on Islamic values, and provides practical implications for the management of PT Berkah Bersama OJESA in formulating more effective human resource management strategies to improve driver performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of employee attachment in mediating the integration of artificial intelligence with retention intention with adaptability as a moderation variable in employees of BPJS Employment Madiun Branch Office. This study applied a quantitative approach using a sample of primary data from 35 respondents, namely all employees of BPJS Employment Madiun Branch Office. The data was analyzed using SmartPLS software v.4.1.0.9. The results of the study show that the integration of artificial intelligence and employee engagement has a positive and significant effect on retention intention. Employee engagement can mediate the relationship between the integration of artificial intelligence and retention intention, and the existence of adaptability can strengthen the relationship between the two. This research offers novelty by integrating artificial intelligence as a strategic factor in human resource management, analyzing not only its direct influence on retention intention but also through the psychological mechanisms of employee engagement as a mediating variable and adaptability as a moderating variable. This is different from previous research that has generally focused on the impact of technology or employee engagement separately.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of competence and work environment on employee performance, with work discipline as a mediating variable, at the Directorate General for the Acceleration of Development of Disadvantaged Regions (Ditjen PPDT). Employee competence is regarded as a key factor that can affect their performance within a specific work environment. Meanwhile, a conducive work environment can enhance employee productivity. In this context, work discipline is considered a mediating variable that links the effects of competence and the work environment on employee performance. This study used a quantitative approach, administering a questionnaire via Google Forms to 130 employees. The data analysis techniques used were descriptive analysis and Partial Least Squares (PLS). The study's results show that competence and the work environment positively affect work discipline. Work discipline has been proven to positively affect employee performance. Competence and the work environment are also shown to positively affect employee performance, with work discipline acting as a partial mediator. These findings provide insights for Ditjen PPDT on the importance of managing employee competence, the work environment, employee performance, and work discipline to improve performance and productivity.

Abstract

This research focuses to analyze the influence of Internal Locus of Control, Preventive Discipline, and Work Ethic on the Performance of Civil Servants (ASN) at the Brebes Regency Education, Youth, and Sports Office. The main issues raised in this study are the fluctuations in employee performance and the level of tardiness, which remain serious concerns. This study uses a quantitative approach with a population of 58 civil servants working at the Brebes Regency Education, Youth, and Sports Office. The sample was determined using saturated sampling technique, so that all members of the population became research respondents. Data collection was conducted through the distribution of questionnaires, then analyzed using multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS. The results showed that Internal Locus of Control had a positive and significant effect on employee performance with a regression coefficient of 0.123 and a significance of 0.010. Preventive Discipline had a positive and significant effect on employee performance with a regression coefficient of 0.053 and a significance of 0.021. Work Ethic also has a positive and significant effect on employee performance with a regression coefficient value of 0.161 and a significance of 0.000. Simultaneously, the three independent variables have a significant effect on employee performance with a calculated F value of 19.899 and a significance of 0.000. The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.525 indicates that 52.5% of employee performance variation can be explained by Internal Locus of Control, Preventive Discipline, and Work Ethic, while the remaining 47.5% is influenced by other factors outside the research model.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of toxic leadership and job insecurity on employee turnover intention, with job satisfaction as a mediating variable at PT. XYZ in Sidoarjo. The high turnover rate indicates potential issues in human resource management. Reduced work satisfaction and increased desire to leave can be caused by destructive leadership styles and uncertainty surrounding employment continuation. This study used a causal research design and a quantitative methodology. Questionnaires were sent out to 99 people to gather data, which was then calculated using the Slovin formula and analyzed using the PLS-SEM approach with SmartPLS 4.0 software. Job satisfaction and desire to leave are greatly impacted by toxic leadership and job instability, according to the research. In addition, the impact of these factors on the intention to leave is moderated by work satisfaction. Companies may use these findings to improve leadership, increase job security, and build a more welcoming workplace, all of which should help them retain more employees.

Abstract

The transformation of the world of work marked by the entry of Generation Z into the workforce presents new challenges for organizations, especially in determining a leadership style that is in line with the character and expectations of this generation. Generation Z as digital natives tends to prioritize two-way communication, openness, work flexibility, and attention to mental health and psychological well-being. This study aims to analyze the leadership style preferences of Generation Z in the context of changes in the modern world of work. The research used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews with eight Generation Z informants working in various sectors in Sidoarjo Regency, and validated through source triangulation with two Human Resource Management experts. Data analysis was carried out using the thematic analysis method. The results show that Generation Z's leadership style preferences are dynamic and contextual. The democratic leadership style is the main preference because it provides space for participation and respect for opinions, but the laissez-faire style is considered effective in encouraging independence, while the authoritarian style remains relevant in situations that demand decisiveness and speed of decision-making. Based on these findings, this study formulated a new concept in the form of the Generation Z Adaptive-Contextual Leadership Model, which is a leadership model that places a democratic approach as the main foundation with the flexibility of applying directive and delegative styles according to situational demands. This model emphasizes participatory communication, structural flexibility, and responsibility-based assertiveness, so that it is able to answer the needs of Generation Z in modern organizational dynamics.

Abstract

In recent years, an increasing number of Indonesian youth have expressed a desire to seek better opportunities and life prospects abroad. One of the hashtags widely used to articulate this aspiration is #KaburDuluAja. This hashtag has emerged as an expression of emotions, anxiety, and even frustration among certain segments of society, particularly the younger generation, in response to the current social, economic, and political conditions in Indonesia. This study aims to comprehensively examine the phenomenon of public discourse on social media related to the #KaburDuluAja hashtag as a reflection of the potential for brain drain in Indonesia. To achieve this objective, a hybrid approach is employed, integrating Clustering, Association Rule Mining, and Sentiment Classification methods. The research adopts a quantitative approach supported by text mining techniques and social media data analysis. Furthermore, this study is both descriptive and predictive in nature. The research does not focus on a specific geographical location; rather, it examines public conversations on social media platforms, particularly Twitter (currently known as X). The data utilized in this study were collected through a web crawling process. The findings indicate that public conversations related to the #KaburDuluAja phenomenon can be categorized into five main clusters. The evaluation of several classification models reveals that the Naïve Bayes algorithm achieves the highest accuracy in predicting sentiment, reaching 99.85%. The K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) model achieves an accuracy of 75.79%, while the Decision Tree and Random Forest models demonstrate relatively lower performance, with accuracy levels around 60%. The #KaburDuluAja phenomenon is not merely a form of humor or casual expression on social media; rather, it represents a genuine reflection of social unrest, particularly concerning employment opportunities, welfare conditions, and the future prospects of Indonesia’s younger generation.
