Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon in the field still found students who have low motivation to following the learning process. One of the factors causing motivation to learn is the environmental conditions of students who do not support so students do not have an interest in learning and social relationships of students with their peers This study aims to see an overview of students' learning motivation, peer social support, and test the relationship of social support peers with student learning motivation. This research is a descriptive correlational study. With a sample of 222 students selected using a sampling technique chosen by simple random sampling technique. Data collection uses peer support social questionnaires and learning motivation with Likert scale models. The results of this study indicate: (1) peer social support is in the high category with a score of 118 and a percentage of 53.2%, (2) learning motivation is in the high category with a score of 129 and a percentage of 58.1%, (3) there is a relationship a significant positive between peer social support with learning motivation with rxy = 0.458 and a significant level of 0,000. The findings of this study can be a reference for BK teachers in making programs to provide BK services to students.

Abstract

This research is based on the existence of students who have not been able to perform behaviors or behaviors to remove, eliminate, and overcome stress in handling learning. This study aims to: (1) describe the handling of student academic stress in terms of handling emotional stress, and (2) describe the handling of academic stress in terms of handling academic stress in MAN Padang City. This type of research is descriptive research. The study population was 1,966 students with a sample of 301 students with Proportional Random Sampling. The instrument used was a questionnaire. The data analysis technique is the percentage. The results showed that: (1) handling of students 'academic stress in terms of handling academic stress was high, and (2) handling of students' academic stress in terms of handling focused problems was high.

Abstract

Perception is a person's thought process in giving meaning to the stimulus he receives through the five senses that affect and assess the stimulus received by the subject, while role is an action or behavior performed by someone who occupies a position in social status. a series of rules that guide a person in social life. This study originated from the findings that there are still students who are afraid to meet their own Academic Advisors because they are easily emotional and are considered as a killer lecturer and there are students who think it is difficult to consult with academic advisors. This lesson aims to describe students' perceptions of the personality competence of the academic advisory lecturer and its role in helping student learning success. This research uses a descriptive approach with quantitative methods. The sample in this study was students of the Faculty of Education, State University of Padang with the 2017 and 2016 entry years totaling 97. The data collection tool used was a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistical analysis. The findings of this study as a whole show that students' perceptions of personality competence and academic advisory lecturers and their role in helping student learning success at the Faculty of Education, State University of Padang based on the attitude aspect are in the good category with a percentage of 51%, based on the action aspect is in the good category with the percentage of 49%, based on the aspect of speech, is in the good category with a percentage of 56%. Furthermore, the role of academic advisory lecturers based on academic aspects is in the very good category with a percentage of 48%, then the role of academic advisory lecturers based on non-academic aspects is in the very good category with a percentage of 44%.

Abstract

Authoritarian parenting is a pattern of parenting in which rules and limits must be obeyed without giving the child the opportunity to state that if the child does not comply, they are threatened and placed. This authoritarian parenting can lead to misunderstandings in children, less initiative and activities, so that the child is not confident in his abilities. Meanwhile, emotion is a response to a stimulant that causes physiological changes accompanied by strong feelings and usually contains the possibility to erupt. This study aims to reveal the relationship between authoritarian parenting and student emotions at SMPN 12 Padang. This research is a descriptive correlational study, with a sample size of 229 students who were obtained using stratified random sampling technique. Stratified random sampling. The data collection instrument used a linkert scale questionnaire which was compiled by itself in data collection using the google forms application. The results of this study are (1) authoritarian parenting styles are generally in the high category with a frequency of 137 and a percentage of 59.8%, these results reveal that authoritarian parenting of students at SMP Negeri 2 Padang is in the high category. This means that many students feel authoritarian parenting style; (2) students' emotions are in the high category with 161 frequency and 70.3% percentage, these results reveal that the emotions of students at SMP N 12 Padang are in the high category. This means that many students are able to recognize their emotions; (3) there is a significant positive relationship between authoritarian parenting and student emotions at SMP Negeri 12 Padang. So, the higher the authoritarian parenting, the higher the students 'emotions, and conversely, the lower the authoritarian parenting, the lower the students' emotions.

Abstract

Adolescence is one period in the range of human life. Teenagers can be said to be individuals who have experienced puberty. However, in fact many adolescents marry at a relatively young age, this marriage is caused by several factors which are the result of social changes. Social change is all changes in social institutions in a society, which affect the social system, including values, attitudes and patterns of behavior among community groups. This paper to describe how many factors that cause adolescent marriage in the community. Abstract

Adaptability is person’s ability to intereact with the environment naturally. In this study, a single mother with an age range of 18 to 40 years will be examined who was abandoned  due to a divorce. This study aims to describe a single mother’s adjustment in general emotional maturity and social maturity. This research uses descriptive quantitative method. The subjects of this study were 32 single mothers in the Dua Koto sub-district, Pasaman district. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire in the form of a likert scale. Research findings reveal that single mother adjusment is generally in the moderate category with a percentage of 81%. In particular, single mother adjusment from the aspect of emotional is in the medium category with a percentage of 96,88%. Aspect of social maturity are in the medium category with a percentage of 75%.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of students who do not understand their interests and talents so that they have an impact on their careers and do not get information from counseling teachers regarding career information. Career planning is a provision or process that an individual must undergo and go through in an effort to achieve the desired career goals. This study aims to describe the career planning of vocational students which includes, 1) self-knowledge and understanding, 2) knowledge and understanding of work and 3) integration of personal information with existing jobs. This type of research is a quantitative descriptive study. The sample of this research was 246 students of class X and XI SMKN 1 Pasaman in the academic year 2020/2021 who were selected using the simple random sampling technique. The research instrument used a questionnaire about the career planning of students of SMKN 1 Pasaman with the Likert scale model answer choices. Data analysis using descriptive statistical analysis techniques. The results revealed that:, 1) the career planning of SMKN 1 Pasaman students from all aspects was generally in the good category with a percentage of 58.13%, 2) the career planning of SMKN 1 Pasaman students from the aspect of knowledge and understanding of themselves was generally in the good category with a percentage 52.44%, 3) career planning of SMKN 1 Pasaman students from the aspect of knowledge and understanding of work is generally in a good category with a percentage of 47.97% and 4) career planning for SMKN 1 Pasaman students from the aspect of integrating self-information with existing jobs, generally in pretty good category with a percentage of 55.28%.

Abstract

A supportive job is when someone enjoys their work; they feel that they can develop and achieve goals. In this context, supportive means a job that is related to their Passion. However, people nowadays seem to have dissatisfaction with their occupation that is not related to their Passion. It requires the students to get more information about their Passion and a job related to it before starting their careers. This study has 261 respondents that come from the alumni of UNP. The data collection was a questionnaire TYPI (Tari Yuca Passion Inventory) about Passion with 43-items and a descriptive statistic used to analyze the data. The result found that there was incongruence between their study and job that related to their Passion. Hence, the contribution of several stakeholders, such as the university, lecturers, academic advisors, and counseling service, is needed.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of junior high school students where students here are faced with an incomplete family condition that affects various things such as not being able to accept incomplete family understanding, difficult to accept criticism from others, feeling less attention from their ecpecially family from their parents, does not have confidence in the crowd, often withdraws and prefers to be alone, lacks motivation to learn, cannot build good relationships with the environment. This study aims to describe how the happiness of students who come from single mother families based on several aspects, namely: (1) acceptance (2) affection (3) achievement. This type of research is quantitative with a descriptive approach. The subjects in this study were 51 students at SMPN 15 Padang who came from single mother families. The research instrument was a happiness questionnaire. The data were processed using descriptive statistical analysis techniques and proportion techniques: The results showed that (1) the happiness of students who came from single mother families, seen from the aspect of acceptance, was generally in the happy category with a proportion of 64.7%, (2) student happiness those who come from single mother families, seen from the aspect of affection, are generally in the happy category with a proportion of 51%, (3) the happiness of students who come from the mother's family, seen from the aspect of achievement, are generally in the very happy category with the proportion of 47.1%.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of students of SMP N 25 Padang where students are faced with a single parent family condition which results in students not accepting the situation that occurs to their families and having jealousy towards friends who have complete families. This study aims to describe the self-concept of adolescents living with single parents at SMP N 25 Padang. The research method used in this research is quantitative method with descriptive type. The population in this study were all students at SMP N 25 Padang registered in 2019/2020 which were determined by 742 children, with a sample size of 50 students who obtained certain criteria purposively. The results showed that: (1) the self-concept of adolescents living with single parents at SMP N 25 Padang as a whole is in the low category with a percentage of 38%, (2) the self-concept of adolescents living with single parents at SMP N 25 Padang seen In terms of social aspects, it is in the very low category with a presentation of 52%, (3) the self-concept of adolescents living with single parents at SMP N 25 Padang, seen from the emotional aspect, is in the low category with a presentation of 42%, (4) teenage self-concept Those who live with single parents at SMP N 25 Padang from a moral perspective are in the low category with a percentage of 52%, (5) the self-concept of adolescents who live with single parents at SMP N 25 Padang seen from a cognitive perspective is in the low category with a percentage of 40 %.
