Abstract

This research was animed to examine the corralation between self-control and student gadget use. This research is a quantitative study involving students in SMAN 1 Sungayang with a total sample of 245 students. The instrument used to collect data in this study was a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the rank spearman correlation technique with help of the statistic product and service solution (SPSS) 22.0 program. These reasult indicate the correlation coefficient in this study is -0.062 and signifficant level of 0,335. This means that there is no correlation between sefl-control and gadget use. So, concluded that the higher the self-control, the lower the use of gadgets, and conversely the lower the self-control, the higher the use of gadgets.

Abstract

Truancy behavior is a form of undiscipline or student violation of school rules of conduct which will harm themselves and others such as leaving behind subject matter.In today's world, the phenomenon of truancy that occurs in the field is abundant. Based on observations and interviews that have been conducted with the school and the students themselves, truancy behavior is based on two factors, namely internal factors such as physical and psychological conditions, the second is external factors such as family and economy, society, and school. Therefore, the problem that will be examined in this research is, "Truancy Behavior in terms of Causative Factors at SMPN 13 Padang". This type of research is a descriptive study using quantitative methods. The subjects in this study were 40 students of class VIII and IX 2020/2021 SMPN 13 Padang, subject taking was done by selecting respondents who were sampled based on certain characteristics. Collecting data using a questionnaire about truancy behavior in terms of the factors that cause students in class VIII and IX at SMPN 13 Padang Likert scale model. The results showed that: Internal factors, namely (1) Physical conditions affect students not to come to school. (2) Psychological conditions influence students not to come to school. External factors, namely (1) family and economic conditions ((a) Family conditions influence students not to come to school. (b) Economic conditions affect students not to come to school). (2) Community conditions influence students not to come to school. (3) School conditions influence students not to come to school. Based on the findings of this study, it is hoped that counseling teachers can provide counseling guidance services in accordance with the problems faced by students to minimize truancy.

Abstract

This research is based on the fact that self-confidence is an important thing that must be owned by every individual, because with high self-confidence it will make it easier for someone to do all things, because they believe in themselves and know their own strengths and weaknesses, therefore Students who have been in high school who are about to graduate must have high self-confidence to make it easier for them in career planning after graduation. Good career planning for students will make it easier for them to determine their future careers. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-confidence and career planning in PesantrenNurulYaqinAmbungKapur Padang Pariaman. The subjects in this study were 84 students of the Islamic boarding school Nurul Yaqin Ambung Kapur Padang Pariaman from class XI 44 people and class XII 40 people. The type in this research is descriptive correlational. Data were collected using a scale of self-confidence and career planning scale Likert scale model. The data were processed using the percentage technique and Pearson product moment correlation. The results of the data analysis of this study indicate that: (1) most of the santri had high self-confidence as much as 75%, (2) most of the santri had good career planning as much as 80%. The correlation coefficient value obtained in this study was 0.530 with an error rate of <0.05. This shows that there is a significant positive relationship in the moderate category between self-confidence and career planning for the students.

Abstract

The main aim of this study is to look at the positive and negative emotional profile of adolescents in social interaction and efforts to develop adolescent emotional sentiments in social interaction in Jorong Matur Katik, Kecamatan Matur, Kabupaten Agam.  The sample in this study were all teenagers in Jorong Matur Katik as many as 35 teenagers consisting of 16 teenage boys and 19 teenage girls. All the collected data during the study were analyzed on a percentage basis. The results showed that the positive and negative emotional profile of adolescents in social interaction was 65.71% and 77.14% respectively. This shows that the percentage of negative emotions is more than positive emotions. In addition, based on the findings of this study, efforts are needed to develop the positive emotions of adolescents in social interaction at Jorong Matur Katik, Kecamatan Matur, Kabupaten Agam.

Abstract

Procrastination is a form of activity that shows individuals delaying all types of activities, although sometimes the form of delay will have a negative impact on the individual. Procrastination is influenced by several factors, one of which is self-efficacy. This study aims to describe (1) academic self-efficacy (2) procrastination, and (3) to examine the relationship between academic self-efficacy and procrastination of BK FIP UNP students in completing the PLKP-S report. This research is a descriptive and correlational research. The study population was the students of BK FIP UNP who had implemented PLKP-S with a total of 149 students. The number of samples was 109 students obtained by simple random sampling technique. The results showed that (1) In general, the academic self-efficacy of BK FIP UNP students in completing the PLKP-S report was in the moderate category, (2) In general the procrastination of BK FIP UNP students in completing the PLKP-S report was in the medium category, and (3) There is a significant negative relationship between academic self-efficacy and the procrastination of BK FIP UNP students in completing the PLKP-S report.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of students having bad academic procrastination attitudes due to lack of parental social support. This study aims to 1) describe parental social support, 2) describe academic procrastination, and 3) identify the relationship between parental social support and academic procrastination of students completing lesson assignments at SMAN.This research is descriptive and correlational. The population of this study was 401 students at SMAN 1 X Koto Singkarak for the 2019-2020 school year. The sample in this study was 215 students at SMAN 1 X Koto Singkarak for the 2019-2020 school year. The instrument used was a Likert scale instrument. The data is processed using statistical techniques to determine the mean, standard deviation, range, score and percentage. To find the relationship between two variables, the Pearson Product Moment technique was used with the help of the Statistical Product and Service Solution program for Windows Release 20.0.The results of the study revealed that 1) the social support of the parents of students completing lesson tasks at SMAN was mostly in the medium category, 2) the academic procrastination of students completing the assignments at SMAN was mostly in the high category, and 3) there was a negative and significant relationship between the parents' social support. with academic procrastination students complete assignments at SMAN with a correlation level of 0.035. Based on the research findings, it is suggested that Gurun BK / counselors at SMAN can help rationalize students' thinking in completing lesson assignments at SMAN about good parental social support and change the lower academic procrastination attitudes. This is so that students become enthusiastic in achieving their goals and support a better education. In addition, for those who are already married, it is recommended that they be given family guidance with the same material.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the self compassion amog first year boarding school students. This study used a quantitative approach with descriptive research methods involved 130 students in Bukittinggi, West Sumatera by using the random sampling technique. A questionnaire was used to collect data were self-compassion scale (SCS) adapted from Neff (2003) consisting of 26 question items to measure 3 dimensions of self compassion. The results of this study show that self compassion among first year boarding school students in the moderate category (64.6%) so it can be concluded that students are quite capable of showing openness and self-acceptance in facing various problems in their first year of education at the dormitory environment.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the existence of several students who had problems and attended individual counseling services and then did not come back for further counseling. This can be seen because students feel less satisfied after getting individual counseling services because students do not get new knowledge, do not get new solutions and students feel that the counseling teacher does not understand student expectations. The purpose of this study was to describe student satisfaction after participating in individual counseling services in terms of gender and work tenure of the counseling counselor / counselor. This study used a comparative descriptive approach with a 2x2x2 factorial model. This research was conducted on class XI and XII students of SMA N 8 and  SMA N 13 Padang in the 2020/2021 school year. The sample size is 90 students with purposive sampling technique. The research instrument was a student satisfaction questionnaire after participating in an office counseling service using the Guttman scale mosel. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance techniques (ANOVA). There is no interaction of student satisfaction after participating in individual counseling services seen from the gender of the student, the gender of the counselor and the working period of the counselor / counselor simultaneously.

Abstract

Ideally a student has good self-efficacy and self-regulated learning. Today it is found that students do not focus and concentrate in learning activities and doing assignments because of a lack of self-regulation in learning. This study aims to reveal (1) students' self-efficacy, (2) students' self-regulated learning, (3) to test the significant level of the relationship between students' self-efficacy and self-regulated learning. This research is a quantitative study with a correlational descriptive method. The study population was 955 students of SMA N 1 Lubuk Basung who were registered in the 2020/2021 school year. The number of samples is 285 students, obtained by using the Stratified Random Sampling technique. The instrument used was a questionnaire about self-efficacy and self-regulated learning with a Likert scale model. The data analysis technique used is descriptive technique using the percentage formula to see a picture of self-efficacy and self-regulated learning. Meanwhile, to test the significant level of the relationship between self-efficacy and self-regulated learning, the Pearson Product Moment Correlations formula is used. The research results reveal that; (1) the overall student self-efficacy is in the medium category (2) overall self-regulated learning is in the medium category (3) and there is a significant positive relationship between student self-efficacy and self-regulated learning with a r table of 0.113 and r count of 0.674 significant level of 0.000. This means that the higher the self-efficacy, the higher the students' self regulated learning.

Abstract

As a first step to enter the world of work, students are required to be able to develop their abilities, knowledge, skills and personality attributes as a provision for their readiness to work in order to be able to compete in getting the desired job. However, in fact there are still students who are not ready to enter the world of work, with there are also graduates who are not absorbed by the world of work. In connection with this, there are several factors that can affect job readiness, one of which is Self Efficacy. This study aims to determine the relationship between Self Efficacy and job readiness in vocational students. The method used in this research is descriptive and correlational. The study population was 418 grade XII students who had completed an internship at SMK Negeri 9 Padang, with a sample of 222 students, who were selected by simple random sampling technique. Collecting data using Self Efficacy questionnaires and work readiness with a Likert scale model. Data processing using Microsoft Excel. To see the relationship between the two variables using the Pearson correlation product moment.The results of this study indicate: (1) Self Efficacy is in the high category with a percentage of 58.1%, (2) job readiness is in the high category with a percentage of 59.9%, (3) there is a significant positive relationship between Self Efficacy and readiness. work with rxy = 0.415 and a significant level of 0.000. Based on the research results, there is a significant positive relationship between Self Efficacy and work readiness, meaning that the higher Self Efficacy, the higher work readiness and vice versa. Work readiness and self-efficacy of SMK Negeri 9 Padang students are high, but there are still a small number of students who don't have Self Efficacy and work readiness to enter work.
