Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the SI-BAD application-assisted problem-based learning model in improving students' mathematical problem-solving skills. This study was a pre-experimental quantitative study with a one-group pretest-posttest design conducted in class V of SDN Mangunrejo 1 with a population of 19 students. The sampling technique used in this study was saturated sampling. The data collection techniques used were tests and documentation. The data analysis techniques used were the paired sample t-test and the N-Gain test. The results of the study showed that the SI-BAD application-assisted problem-based learning model was effective and that there was an increase in students' mathematical problem-solving skills after using this model. The results of the paired sample t-test showed that the use of the SI-BAD application-assisted problem-based learning model was effective in improving students' mathematical problem-solving skills. It was found that the percentage of improvement in students' abilities was 60.02%, which is considered quite effective.

Abstract

Penerapan model dan media pembelajaran yang masih kurang membuat siswa kurang aktif ketika mengikuti pembelajaran. Minim aktifnya siswa selama mengikuti kegiatan pembelajaran membuat kurang memahami materi sehingga menyebabkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika rendah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbedaan rata-rata nilai kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model STAD berbantuan media PANRAM. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif Pre-Experimental dengan desain one group pretest-posttest. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SDN 06 Bulungkulon dengan sampel sebanyak 31 siswa kelas V SDN 06 Bulungkulon. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan tes, wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisisis data menggunakan uji normalitas dan uji hipotesis Paired Sample T-Test. Hasil uji Paired Sample T-Test mendapatkan nilai Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 sehingga H1 diterima dan Ho ditolak. Sesuai paparan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan rata-rata nilai pemahaman konsep matematika sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan model STAD berbantuan media PANRAM.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the mathematical creative thinking abilities of junior high school students on the subject of curved-sided shapes: spheres. Creative thinking abilities were analysed based on four indicators, namely fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. This study used a qualitative descriptive method with ninth-grade students at Sidoarjo State Junior High School as the subjects. The instrument used was an essay test consisting of four questions designed to explore students' creative thinking abilities. The results showed that the percentage of achievement for the fluency indicator was 80%, flexibility 70%, originality 70%, and elaboration 55%. These findings indicate that students have begun to develop good creative thinking skills, but there is still room for improvement, especially in the areas of flexibility and elaboration. These results can serve as a basis for teachers in designing learning activities that encourage the optimal development of students' creativity.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Autograph application-assisted Problem Solving learning model on the mathematical representation abilities of students in Grade VIII at UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Pematangsiantar. This study uses a quantitative experimental research design. Quantitative research is objective in terms of data collection, quantitative data analysis, and testing using statistical methods. This study will be conducted in class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Pematangsiantar. The sampling technique used by the researcher to determine the sample in this study is cluster random sampling. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that there is a positive and significant effect of the use of the problem-solving learning model on the mathematical representation abilities of students in class VIII UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Pematangsiantar. This effect is shown by the correlation value between variables (R) of 0.945 and the regression equation ?̂ = −4.357 + 0.473? with a value of ? = 0.473. Based on the t-test results, it was found that there was a significant effect and the coefficient of determination showed a positive effect of 89.3%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of guided inquiry learning models on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities in probability. The research population consisted of all eighth-grade students at UPTD SMP Negeri 5 Pematangsiantar in the 2025/2026 academic year, while the research sample was taken randomly and consisted of treatment classes that used guided inquiry learning models. The research instruments consisted of a mathematical problem-solving ability test and a student perception questionnaire used to support the research data. Data analysis was performed using simple linear regression and t-tests. The results showed that there was a significant effect of the guided inquiry learning model on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. The regression equation obtained was Y=1.596 + 0.311X with a coefficient value of b = 1.596. The t-test results showed that the guided inquiry learning model had a positive and significant effect on students' mathematical problem-solving skills in probability material.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to determine the effect of the problem-based learning model on the computational thinking skills of eighth-grade students at SMP Cinta Rakyat 3 Pematangsiantar on the subject of two-variable linear equation systems. The method used in this study was based on quasi-experimental research with a purposive sample of 30 students. The instruments used were tests and questionnaires that had been declared valid and reliable. The hypothesis test used was the t-test and the coefficient of determination. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of the use of the Problem-Based Learning model on the computational thinking skills of eighth-grade students at SMP Cinta Rakyat 3 Pematangsiantar in the 2025/2026 academic year. This positive effect is shown through the regression equation Y = 11.325 + 0.275X with a b value of 0.275. The contribution of the problem-based learning model to students' computational thinking skills is 72.9%.

Abstract

Abstract. The travelling salesman problem is one of the classic optimisation problems that is widely applied in real life, such as in the distribution of goods, transportation route planning, and even the movement of industrial robots. This study aims to implement algorithms for solving the travelling salesman problem using two different programming languages, namely Pascal and C++, and to compare their performance in terms of effectiveness, memory efficiency, and execution speed. The methods used include weighted graph modelling, shortest path calculation, and the application of the Branch and Bound algorithm. The test results show that both programming languages produce identical optimal routes, namely 1 – 5 – 6 – 7 – 10 – 9 – 8 – 4 – 2 – 3 – 1 with a minimum total distance of 196. The Pascal programme has the advantage of a simple syntax structure and low memory usage (±356 KB), while C++ excels in execution speed (0.09466 seconds) despite having a larger output file size (±1.26 MiB). This difference in performance indicates that Pascal is more suitable for educational purposes and small-scale applications, while C++ is superior for complex applications and modern system integration needs. Thus, the TSP algorithm can be implemented effectively using either Pascal or C++, and the choice of programming language should be tailored to the context of the requirements.

Abstract

This study aims to implement PowerPoint-based image media to improve students' mathematical problem-solving skills. The subjects of this study were 30 students in class VII-2 of SMP Negeri 1 Tilongkabila, consisting of 12 boys and 18 girls. The research instrument was the results of the students' scores on a mathematical problem-solving test on data and diagrams. The data analysis techniques in this study were teacher observation, student observation, and mathematical problem-solving ability tests. This study used the action research method, with research procedures including planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research consisted of two cycles. The results of the research in cycle I showed that the results of observations of teacher activities only reached 66.67%, and student activities 58.33% with good criteria, and the level of students' mathematical problem-solving skills that were complete was only 14 students or 46.67%, while there were 16 students or 58.33% who were not yet complete. Because the success indicator of at least 80% was not achieved, the research continued to cycle II. In cycle II, the results of observations of teacher activities were 94.45% and student activities were 88.89% with good and very good criteria, and the level of students' mathematical problem-solving skills was 26 students or 86.67%. It is concluded that the implementation of PowerPoint-based image media can improve students' mathematical problem-solving skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan pemahaman mendalam mengenai pemodelan dan analisis kurva parametrik melalui pendekatan teoritis dan visual menggunakan perangkat lunak GeoGebra. Kurva parametrik merupakan representasi matematis yang menggambarkan lintasan dalam bidang dua dimensi atau tiga dimensi dengan memanfaatkan satu atau lebih parameter bebas. Studi ini dimulai dengan kajian teoritis yang menguraikan dasar-dasar persamaan parametrik, termasuk bentuk umum kurva, sifat diferensialnya, serta konsep turunan pertama dan kedua untuk menentukan karakteristik seperti titik stasioner, kelengkungan, dan arah garis singgung. Selanjutnya, GeoGebra diimplementasikan sebagai alat bantu visual interaktif yang memungkinkan pengguna memodelkan kurva parametrik secara dinamis dengan manipulasi parameter secara real-time. Penggunaan GeoGebra memungkinkan analisis numerik yang akurat dan visualisasi grafik yang intuitif, sehingga mempermudah identifikasi titik ekstrem, simetri, serta perubahan bentuk kurva akibat variasi parameter. Metode penelitian mengintegrasikan kajian literatur, pengembangan model matematis, dan eksperimen visualisasi dengan GeoGebra untuk menghasilkan representasi kurva yang komprehensif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan GeoGebra secara signifikan meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran dan pemahaman konsep-konsep kalkulus diferensial serta geometri analitik terkait kurva parametrik. Selain itu, visualisasi dinamis membantu dalam menguji hipotesis matematis dan memperjelas hubungan antara parameter dan bentuk kurva. Studi ini juga menyoroti potensi aplikasi kurva parametrik dalam berbagai bidang seperti teknik, desain grafis, dan simulasi komputer. Kesimpulannya, integrasi pemodelan matematis dan visualisasi interaktif menggunakan GeoGebra merupakan metode yang efektif untuk mendalami analisis kurva parametrik sekaligus mendukung pengembangan metode pembelajaran matematika yang lebih inovatif dan aplikatif.

Abstract

The Fourth Industrial Revolution has significantly transformed various aspects of life, including education. The rapid advancement of digital technology requires society, including parents, to adapt, particularly with the implementation of online school enrollment systems. However, this situation creates challenges for parents unfamiliar with technology, leading to a digital divide. This study examines the factors influencing parents’ digital readiness at SMAN 2 Kabanjahe using the Technology Readiness Index (TRI), which evaluates individual attitudes toward technology through four dimensions: optimism, innovativeness, discomfort, and insecurity. A quantitative approach was employed with data collected from 80 parents via online questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) in Smart-PLS 4.0. The results show an R² value of 0.615, indicating that 61.5% of the variance in digital readiness is explained by the model. Optimism has a significant positive effect, while discomfort has a significant negative effect. Conversely, innovativeness and insecurity do not significantly influence digital readiness. These findings highlight the applicability of the TRI model in assessing digital readiness, particularly in the educational context.
