Abstract

This study aims to trace the process of occurrence of metacognitive blindness in students in solving HOTS-based problems. This type of research uses qualitative methods. Data collection techniques used test instruments in the form of HOTS-based problem-solving questions and interviews. The sampling technique in this study uses Purposefully selection, where the researcher chooses deliberately and fully planning the participants to be studied. The results showed that both subjects experienced metacognitive failure caused by a presence flag during the problem-solving process. S1 experienced metacognitive blindness namely 1) errors in understanding what is meant by the problem, 2) being unable to connect one understanding with another understanding, 3) maintaining an inappropriate strategy, and 4) ignoring correct calculations when planning solutions and implementing plans. Furthermore, Subject S2 experienced metacognitive blindness namely 1) students maintain inappropriate mathematical problem-solving strategies, 2) are unable to relate one understanding to another, and 3) maintain inappropriate strategies.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze students' learning difficulties in independent learning. The method used is descriptive qualitative method. An example of this research is SMA Class VIII-A. Dharma Kartini Simahi has 28 students. Purposive sampling method. The data collected is in the form of a 3-point assessment tool with specific questions about students' ability to follow the Polya heuristic steps. Methods of data analysis include data management through objective definitions and qualitative analysis of student achievement test results. The learning barriers found in this study are ontogenic barriers (conceptual errors), epistemological barriers (practical problems) and educational barriers (teaching problems). The results showed that 43% of students were able to explain the problem and the lowest score in solving the problem was 14% of the total.

Abstract

This study aims to design HLT addition and multiplication rules in the RME-based enumeration rules and implement the HLT design in learning activities. The research method used in this research is design research. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 2 Banjar in the even semester of the 2022-2023 school year, the research subjects in the teaching experiment were 35 students of class XII.IPA4 and then in the pilot experiment there were 36 students of class XII.IPA1. Data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and video recording. In this study the designed HLT was compared with actualization in the learning process. This research produced a learning trajectory for addition and multiplication rules in the enumeration rules which were obtained through learning activities using the Realistic Mathematical Education (RME) approach.

Abstract

Mathematics is an abstract science so that in the learning process it is often difficult for students to understand the material because students have learning difficulties. Learning barriers consist of 3 namely ontogenic obstacles, epistemological obstacles and didactical obstacles. This study aims to analyze the trend of writing articles with the theme of epistemological obstacles in mathematics learning from 2000 to 2022. Articles are analyzed based on country of origin, authors and institutions that produce articles with the most citations and link strength. The analysis uses the method of bibliometric analysis. The sample used was 61 search results articles using database dimensions with the keyword epistemological obstacles in mathematics. The results of the analysis show that this study fluctuates every year. Didi Suryadi is the author with the most authors and the author with the most total links and Athanasios Gagatsis is the author with the highest number of citations. The themes regarding form, learning obstacles, researchers, operations, participants, and didactical design research are the newest themes related to epistemological obstacles in mathematics so that they can become references for updating further research.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of self-regulated learning on the results of the numeracy AKM pretest at school was choice by teaching campus batch 4. The population of this research is class VIII students of SMP Islam Karawang for the 2022/2023 academic year. The sample was selected using a simple random sampling technique so that 14 students of class VIII-B were obtained. Data collection was carried out using AKM test and self-regulated learning questionnaires which were then analyzed using simple linear regression analysis, namely by conducting normality tests and data linearity test first as prerequisites with the help of SPSS software version 25 for windows. The results showed that the absence of a positive influence of self-regulated learning on the results of the numeracy AKM pretest of students. This is evidenced by the value of Sig. = 0.869 0.05 then it was H0 accepted so that the variable (X) self-regulated learning did not have a positive effect on the variable (Y) of the numeracy AKM pretest result.

Abstract

Mathematics that is done in everyday life which functions to facilitate work, transactions and so on is called ethnomathematics. This study aims to describe ethnomathematics in goods distribution activities carried out by online traders. The approach used is a qualitative approach. The number of research subjects was 4 online traders consisting of 2 agents and 2 resellers. The research location is in Sungai Kelambu Village, Tebas District, Sambas Regency. The research was carried out on March 20 and March 25, 2022. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews and documentation. The research procedure was carried out in 4 stages, namely the pre-research stage, data collection, data analysis and report preparation. The research instruments were observation sheets, interview guides, and documentation. The results of the study show that there is ethnomathematics in the distribution of goods carried out by online traders. The ethnomathematical activities in the distribution of goods can be seen in the materials on measurement, assemblage, number arithmetic operations, comparisons, least common multiples (KPK), and social arithmetic.

Abstract

The implementation of a learning management system (LMS) through the project-based learning (PBL) model is one of the alternatives that can be considered to improvstudent’ss learning outcomes and abilities. This study aims to examine the impact of LMS implementation through the PBL model on students' learning outcomes and abilities. The research method used was a case study with 30 IKIP Siliwangi and Widya Mandiri University students. Data were collected using observation, interview, and questionnaire instruments. Data analysis was carried out using a quantitative descriptive technique. The results showed that LMS implementation through the PBL model can improve students' learning outcomes, indicated by the increase in the percentage of students who received an A grade. In addition, LMS implementation through the PBL model can also improve students' critical thinking, teamwork, and communication skills. LMS implementation through the PBL model can also improve students' ability to manage their learning time, find and utilize information, adapt to changing learning environments, and manage emotions and stress.

Abstract

Mathematical representation ability influenced by metacognitive abilities. This study aims to describe the ability of mathematical representation in terms of students' metacognitive abilities. This research was conducted at a junior high school in Karawang Regency with 39 students in class VIII as research subjects. The research method used is a qualitative approach to the type of phenomenological research. Data in this study were obtained based on research measurement instruments in the form of mathematical representation ability test questions, metacognitive ability questionnaires, and interview guidelines. The data was analyzed using the Miles and Huberman’s methods, which included data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that students with high metacognitive abilities are able to fulfill the indicators of symbol and image representation very well, and quite good verbal representations, then students with moderate metacognitive abilities are able to fulfill the indicators of image representation well but are good enough for symbolic representation and verbal, as well as for students with low metacognitive fulfillment of symbolic, pictorial and verbal representations that are quite good.
