Abstract

This research aims to determine the internalization of the value of respecting others in minimizing bullying behavior in modern pesantren in Banda Aceh City (MTsS Darul Ulum and SMPIT Teungku Chiek Dibitai). The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a field research approach. The respondents of this study were the Principal, 4 Islamic Religious Education teachers, 2 Counseling Guidance teachers and 20 students. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique used the Miles and Huberman analysis model. The results showed that, (1) there are several factors that cause bullying behavior in students at MTsS Darul Ulum and SMPIT Teungku Chiek Dibitai, namely family factors, peer factors and mass media or social media factors. (2) there are various policies carried out by MTsS Darul Ulum and SMPIT Teungku Chiek Dibitai in living the value of respecting others in minimizing bullying behavior in students through learning activities in the classroom and learning activities outside the classroom, (3) the implementation of internalizing the value of respecting others in minimizing bullying behavior at MTsS Darul Ulum and SMPIT Teungku Chiek Dibitai is carried out through exemplary, (4) the implications of the results of internalizing the value of respecting others in minimizing bullying behavior at MTsS Darul Ulum and SMPIT Teungku Chiek Dibitai include fostering caring and empathetic attitudes towards others, having good manners towards others, and respecting every difference. This research is expected to provide theoretical and practical benefits, especially in dealing with bullying behavior in all educational institutions.

Abstract

The objectives of the research are, 1) to find out how to develop the spiritual competence of SMAKON students, 2) to find out what efforts are made to develop the spiritual competence of Aceh State Sports Gifted High School students. The research method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the research found that, 1) there are four methods of developing the spiritual competence of Aceh State Sports Gifted High School students, namely through the methods of habituation, example, discipline, and giving advice (mauidzah hasanah). 2) There are five efforts made by teachers in fostering the spiritual competence of Aceh State Olahara Gifted High School students, namely by increasing the teacher's spiritual pedagogical competence, requiring students to pray midday prayers in congregation, providing guidance on reading the Al-Qur’an, accustoming students to be honest, and train students to always be grateful.

Abstract

This research aims to determine and analyze the application of tahfiz learning using the talaqqi, tafahhum, tikrar, and murja’ah (3T+1M) methods in learning the Qur’an., and to determine the effectiveness of these methods on students memorization and to find out and analyze the influence of the methode on students motivation in memorizing the Al-Qur’an. this research uses descriptive qualitative research methodes. .Data collection through observation, interviews, memorization tests and distributing questionnaires. The research result show that the application of tahfiz learning using the 3T+1M method is implemented well. The effectiveness of the 3T+1M method for memorizing the Al-Qur’an is categorized as very good with average scores of memorization tests and distributing questionnaires. The research result show that the application of tahfiz learning using the 3T+1M method is implemented well. The effectiveness of the 3 T+1m method for memerizing the Al-Qur’an is categorized as very good with average scores of 88, 92, and 84. Above the KKM tahfiz score limit, namely 80. The influence of the talaqqi, tafahhum, tikrar, and muraja’ah (3T+1M) on the motivation of students in memorizing the Al-Qur’an in Daarut Tahfiz Al-Ikhlas has been very good in persevering in memorizing the Al-Qur’an and is tenacious in repeating his memorization and has high willingness to memorize the Qur’an.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of mosques and churches in community empowerment in Aceh and Tana Toraja. Focus of this research is to understand how the empowerment programs initiated by Baitil Abrar Mosque in Aceh and Toraja Church Jemaat Padakka in Tana Toraja can enhance the social and economic welfare of the local community. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. Data analysis was conducted thematically to identify the main patterns emerging from the field data. The research findings indicate that the empowerment programs initiated by Baitil Abrar Mosque and Toraja Church Jemaat Padakka have successfully improved the social and economic welfare of the community. These programs include education, skills training, economic development, and the empowerment of women and children. An increase in income and economic independence of the local community is one of the positive impacts of these programs. Additionally, there is an improvement in the quality of education and skills, as well as awareness of gender equality and children's rights. This study suggests that cooperation among various parties should be strengthened and that empowerment programs should continue to be developed with a participatory and sustainable approach.

Abstract

Mental health is a crucial aspect of human life that determines psychological, social, and spiritual well-being. This study analyzes mental health from two main perspectives: Islam and the Western. The Islamic perspective emphasizes balance between physical, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects, with religious values as the fundamental foundation. The concept of jiwa takwa plays a key role in shaping mentally healthy individuals, where inner peace is achieved through worship, zikr, and surrender to the Divine. On the other hand, the Western perspective tends to refer to modern psychological theories that emphasize a scientific approach, defining mental health as a state free from psychological disorders, the ability to adapt to the environment, and the optimization of one’s potential. This approach relies on more empirical measures, such as emotional well-being, cognitive stability, and effective social functioning. Despite their differences, both perspectives highlight the importance of mental balance and individual quality of life. Integrating religious values with modern psychological approaches can provide a holistic solution for understanding and fostering more comprehensive mental health.

Abstract

The Islamic perspective of education is the harmonization between sense, mind and religious faith to build a complete and an ideal personality in an Islamic environment. However, the contemporary learners in Nigeria are not only reducing in moral but also religious teachings which are the core values in personality development. Series of questions could be raised as per the reason behind the reduction of Nigeria system of learning in achieving its core objective in the learners especially among the Muslims. By this, the teacher, the learners and the system are needed to be scrutinized for possible response in rebuilding the Nigerian learning system. It is therefore the aim of this paper to investigate the philosophical thoughts of Abu Hāmid Al-Ghazālī and their relevance to reformation of learning in Nigerian. In achieving this, the paper adopts historical and analytical methods of research. The historical method has assisted in accounting for the biography of Al-Ghazālī while analytical method has been used to explain the philosophical thoughts of Al-Ghazālī in relation to how they can be used to reform learning system in Nigerian society. This will assist in reclaiming the early Muslim identity in learning. The paper reveals that the Nigerian learning system is suffering a taste of spirituality by focusing more on materialism. The paper concludes that spirituality is needed in ensuring better change in the life of the learners. The paper, therefore, recommends the incorporation of Imam Al-Ghazālī’s thoughts into the learning curriculum of the Muslim Youths across all levels of education.

Abstract

The millennial generation was born and raised in the digital era, characterized by rapid advancements in information and communication technology. Their close connection with technology brings numerous benefits to daily life but also presents complex challenges. This article aims to analyze the major challenges faced by the millennial generation in the digital era, particularly in the aspects of economy and finance, skills, and lifestyle. This study employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method, in which data are collected from various sources, including books, scientific journals, and relevant research reports. Content analysis is applied to identify patterns, trends, and implications of these challenges. The findings indicate that millennials face significant financial challenges, such as economic instability, difficulties in accessing housing, and consumerism pressures. Additionally, technological advancements require them to acquire new skills, both technical skills and soft skills, such as critical thinking and emotional intelligence. From a lifestyle perspective, the influence of social media has affected consumption patterns and the mental well-being of this generation. In response to these challenges, this study proposes three key strategies: first, enhancing economic and financial literacy. Second, emphasizing the learning process and self-development rather than merely focusing on outcomes. Third, adopting a simple lifestyle that prioritizes needs over desires.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the teaching strategies of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in developing CERIA learning for students at SMAN 1 Rundeng. Using a qualitative approach, data was collected through interviews and observations involving school principals, teachers, and students. The findings reveal that the teaching strategies implemented by PAI teachers focus on enhancing scientific concepts through various interactive and engaging teaching models. The study also identifies several challenges, including the limited application of teaching strategies, minimal scientific concept development, lack of facilities and technology, the absence of a PAI laboratory, insufficient parental involvement, and inadequate school support. To overcome these challenges, collaboration between teachers and parents needs to be strengthened to enhance the effectiveness of CERIA learning in scientific concepts.

Abstract

This article explores the principles of Islamic education developed by Imam Al-Zarnuji in his book Ta‘lim al-Muta‘allim, as well as their relevance to modern educational practices. Using a literature review method with a qualitative approach, this study analyzes key principles such as sincerity of intention in seeking knowledge, respect for teachers, the importance of patience, applying knowledge, choosing beneficial knowledge, and the emphasis on manners and discipline in learning. Al-Zarnuji also outlines the characteristics of an ideal teacher, which include being knowledgeable (ʿālim), pious (wara’), authoritative, patient, and compassionate. The findings show that the educational principles in Ta‘lim al-Muta‘allim remain relevant in shaping holistic, value-oriented learning and in supporting the development of student character amid global challenges and the digital era. Al-Zarnuji’s educational values have the potential to serve as a strong ethical and philosophical framework for designing meaningful, civilized, and character-oriented educational systems.

Abstract

Environmental problems can be categorized into three main forms: environmental pollution, improper land use, and excessive exploitation of natural resources. These issues arise from a value system that places human interests as the center of the universe (anthropocentrism). This study employs a normative juridical method with an interdisciplinary approach. The presence of Eco-Sufism, as a spiritual approach that integrates Sufism and ecology, aims to foster spiritual awareness in the interaction between humans and the environment. Within the context of Islamic mysticism, Eco-Sufism is understood as a means of drawing closer to the Creator through His creation. This approach emphasizes the internalization of al-Insān al-Kāmil (the Perfect Man) as a reflection of Divine attributes, which should be embodied by government officials and law enforcement authorities—police, prosecutors, and judges—in upholding justice and legal protection for environmental sustainability. The effectiveness of environmental law enforcement can only be achieved when the values of Sufism and ṭarīqah are implemented within the moral consciousness of law enforcers. Abuya Amran Waly’s thought highlights the importance of noble character in the relationship between humans and nature, while Ibn ‘Arabi’s perspective views nature and humanity as the locus of Divine manifestation.
