Abstract

Students are expected to have good comprehension to deal with all reading aspects and difficulties in academic context. Furthermore, as the teacher we should prepare students with learning strategies so that the students can used their learning strategies to improve their reading comprehension which could not be taught optimally in the class. The comprehension process draw on many cognitive and linguistic abilities, especially vocabulary, recalling background knowledge, sentence processing, verbal reasoning, and working memory. Therefore, reading comprehension is an area where cognitive strategies are important. The objectives of this research are to find out the effect of cognitive learning strategies in teaching reading in improving students reading comprehension, and reading difficulties faced by students.This research applied quasi-experimental design by using non-equivalent control group design pre test and post test. The experimental class is students of morning class and the controlled class is students of night class, each class consists of 35 students. Both experimental and controlled classes are given pretest and post test. However, the treatment was only given to the experimental class. The data are collected through pretest, post test and questionnaire and were analyzed by using SPSS 17.0.The research results are: 1. The cognitive learning strategies are effective in improving reading comprehension; 2. The cognitive learning strategies help students to improve their reading comprehension by themselves both inside and outside the classroom, with or without the teacher assistance; 3. the cognitive learning strategies provide students with interesting, challenging, and enjoyable classroom activity. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of KK, KTP, and AK services in Samarinda Kota sub district and its factors influencing the effectiveness of KK, KTP, AKservices.The research used field research method which gives an overview on the effectiveness of KK, KTP, and AK services in Samarinda Kota sub district. Data collection techniques use observation techniques, interviews, and media questionnaires by selecting informants who play a role and are involved technically and functionally in service delivery to the community. The data obtained are then analyzed qualitatively and supported by quantitative data.The results showed that service implementation in Samarinda Kota sub-district, especially in the field of population administration and civil registration is done in accordance with existing mechanism and regulation which have been determined by seeing some service indicator such as simplicity is in very safe category with 6.67% and certainty of service procedure and tariff cost are in accordance with the value of 88.33% and 70% respectively, the security and convenience of facilities and infrastructure are in safe and comfortable category with 65% and 73.33% respectively, openness about the ease of obtaining information and provisions services in the categories easy and explained if requested with the value of 71.67% and 63.33% respectively, economical about the cost of KK rates, ID cards, AK category Rp 10,000 - Rp 15,000, equitable fairness with a value of 60%, the timeliness is in category 1 - 2 days, and the efficiency is an exact category with a value of 80%.  And the factors that affect the service is the resources apparatus, facilities and infrastructure, and public awareness. Keywords: Effectiveness, Public Service

Abstract

Hospitals should be able to provide services that meet the expectations of patients so that they are interested to take advantage of these services. Improving the service quality must be accompanied by the performance improvement of its employees. Employees’ job performance is formed of standardized human resources quality and it is related to the competency. This study aims to identify and to analyze the influence of achievement and action competency, helping and human services competency, impact and influence competency, managerial competency, cognitive competency, and personal effectiveness competency on employees’ job performance in Sari Mulia Hospital Banjarmasin. There were 310 employees in Sari Mulia Hospital Banjarmasin as the population of the study. Probability sampling with proportional sampling technique was employed as the sampling technique. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires to the samples of 173 employees in Sari Mulia Hospital Banjarmasin. The collected data were analyzed using multiple regressions. Based on the findings of the research, it was found that each variable of competencies influence employees’ job performance in Sari Mulia Hospital Banjarmasin.

Abstract

Market competition that is not only in national scope, transportation and communication tool progress have encouraged global competition. Technology advance plays an importance role in short goods circulation and increasing various types of produced goods. This research aims to determine (1). Any non value Added activities leading to non value added costs in the company (2). The extent of benefits and roles of Just In  Time  (JIT) Method in eliminating all non value activities or sources (3). To provide description on the importance of Just In  Time application for the company in order to improve efficiency and productivity. This research used descriptive method, namely the research giving description on certain activity or project systematically, factually and appropriately and there are also some necessary analyses to overcome any faced problems and to find out any alternatives that can be used to anticipate various developments to be adjusted with the theory. Results of the research conclude that (1). Success in reducing or making efficient production cost can be seen in sale by savings (2). The figure is obtained from comparison of cost of goods before the JIT production system implementation with the cost of goods after the JIT production system implementation. (3) by reducing cost of goods, it is expected that the company can reduce its cost of sale, with the aim to add product competitiveness in the market and the company will obtain increased level of profits. (4) it can be seen that before the implementation of JIT production system, the company profit has increased after the implementation of JIT production system. Keywords: Just In Time  Method, Company Production Increase

Abstract

Colleges are expected to continue to be able to improve their quality through repair or renewal. One of the reforms can be done by granting autonomy to universities. Given the autonomy of universities is expected to be able to manage and carry out repairs. Another the impact of the granting of autonomy that is the increasing number of private colleges have sprung up recently, which resulted in triggering competition among the private universities in gaining prospective students. For customers that prospective students with a number of private colleges will give you many choices for them to determine the college considered the best quality. The purpose of this research is to analyze the influence of individual characteristics, marketing mix, psychological variables, organization, and leadership on student's decision choosing economics faculty Uniska MAB non-regular classes. The analysis technique used is multiple linear regression hypothesis testing through simultaneous significance test (test F), partial significance test (t test) and test the coefficient of determination (R ² test). The results showed that simultaneous variable individual characteristics (X1), services marketing mix variables (X2), psychological variables (X3), organizational variables (X4), leadership variable (X5) has no significant effect on student's decision (Y). Partial Partial that the variables that significantly is variable organization while variable individual characteristics, marketing mix variables, psychological variables, as well as leadership variable effect is not significant.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the level of trust and intention in  Banjarmasin’s public purchasing towards green products based on demographic variables such as gender, age, income, occupation, education and its influence on the level of trust and intention in public purchasing. This study is a survey research using questionnaires as an instrument. Population and sample used in this study is the community of Banjarmasin and taken as many as 150 respondents using non-purposive sampling method. The analysis technique used is (1) descriptive analysis of qualitative - quantitative and comparative analysis of the average using SPSS software; (2) the influence and correlation test was analyzed with SEM using IBM AMOS Software Version 22. The study found that: (1) the level of confidence and interest in people's purchasing Banjarmasin city is good enough for assessment respondents in a category; (2) The demographic segments of potential that can be used as a target market of green products : female, age 31-40 years, self-employed, earning between Rp 5 million - Rp 9,999 million and education level S-1 and S-3 (3) Segmentation demographic does not have a significant influence on the level of trust and intention in buying community towards green products because of the results of the SEM analysis for demoraphics CR value does not exceed 1.96 and the Sig. value is greater than 0.05 (4) demographic segmentation based on the type of work and level of education has a significant correlation only with trust variabels, but do not have a significant correlation with green purchase intention variabels. Keywords :   Trust, purchase intention, green products, demographic segmentation

Abstract

Cloning of humans is a successful Western scientists in utilizing science finally able to make a rapid progress that has outpaced all human forecasts . Imagine, in this way be considered as a way to improve the quality of offspring : a more intelligent, strong, handsome, or to reproduce offspring without the need for conventional breeding process . However, in Islam there is no that does not allow therefore the issue needs to be revisited. Therefore the aim of this study was to determine custody of a child cloned in Contemporary Islamic law and jurisprudence, and then to see the inheritance rights of a child cloned in Contemporary Fiqh and Islamic law .         This research method uses a qualitative approach method with library research. Materials used in the study of law is the primary legal materials , legal materials and secondary legal materials tertiary . The method of data analysis used in this study is descriptive analytical method .Based on the research results according to Islamic law are forbidden because the cloning process would prevent the implementation of many laws of Personality ' , such as the law of marriage , lineage , livelihood , rights and obligations between father and son , inheritance , child care , relationships forbidden, actuator connect  gan ' asbabah , and others and violate nature that God has created man in trouble for child birth . Human cloning is really a horrible act, which will be turned over turned the structure of people's lives . According to contemporary Fikh law allowed because it can help the child process on a family and give happiness to them .          The person should preferably be done by doing cloning legitimate husband and wife, which in no way could have inherited with cloning. Before doing cloning should couples to consulate with the doctor.

Abstract

Print ads are currently getting shifted by technological developments, its role is still able to become one of the alternative media promo for prospective candidates of Mayor and Vice Mayor in Serang City for the period 2018-2023. This is seen so many posters, banners and even billboards in almost every corner of Serang City which is used by prospective couples. The existence of conventional media becomes an interesting phenomenon to be studied and semiotics study on print advertising media. This research uses qualitative research methods that are descriptive interpretive. By using the theory of representation from Stuart Hall, this study wanted to see how the prospective candidates represent the face of Serang City through print advertising media displayed by prospective couples. Based on the results of semiotic analysis of the face of Serang City 2018 print ads would prospective Serang Mayor 2018, looks every balloon has a characteristic of the design that he made to invite people choose himself. Creative packaging through the poster design of the balloons is seen not only on the tagline, but the clothes worn and not far from the norms that have been agreed by the people of Serang city that is religious, friendly and full of local wisdom. Keyword: Print Ads, Visual Communication, Representation, Serang City

Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) the effect of product quality to customer satisfaction GSM Sim Card Prepaid XL Palangka Raya, (2) the effect of service quality on customer satisfaction GSM Sim Card Prepaid XL Palangka Raya, (3) the effect of price on consumer satisfaction GSM Sim Card Prepaid XL Palangka Raya, and (4) the effect of product quality, service quality, and price together on consumer satisfaction Prepaid Sim Card GSM XL Palangka Raya.This type of research used in this study was a survey. The population in this study are all consumers of Prepaid GSM Sim Card XL in the city of Palangka Raya. The sampling technique using purposive sampling method with a sample size of 200 people. The technique of collecting data using questionnaires that have been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis techniques used to answer the hypothesis is multiple regression.The results showed that: (1) There is a positive effect product quality to customer satisfaction Prepaid Sim Card GSM XL Palangka Raya, evidenced from t value of 4.404 with a significance value of 0.000 <0.05; and a regression coefficient of 0.201, (2) There is a positive effect of service quality on customer satisfaction Prepaid Sim Card GSM XL Palangka Raya, evidenced from t value of 5.494 with a significance value of 0.000 <0.05 and a regression coefficient of 0.245, (3) there price positive influence on consumer satisfaction Prepaid Sim Card GSM XL Palangka Raya. It was proven that brand trust variable research results obtained t value of 5.074 with a significance value of 0.000 (0.000<0.05) and the regression coefficient has a positive value of 0.280, and (4) There is the influence of product quality, service quality, and price together on consumer satisfaction Prepaid Sim Card GSM XL Palangka Raya, evident from the calculated F value of 43.312 with a significance of 0.000<0.05.Keywords: Quality Products, Service Quality, Price, and Customer Satisfaction

Abstract

This research has background the phenomena of brand competition of various companies in obtaining Top Brand Award. Customers tend to give more trust at any brands that have once achieved the Top Brand Award. Decreased top brand index indicates problems on brand equity of the Handphone Samsung. The problem in this research is “What is Brand Image and Brand Awareness effect on Brand Equity of Samsung Handphone”.  Brand image and brand awareness are assumed to have effects on brand equity and greatly importance to build strong brand equity. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the effects of Brand Image and Brand Awareness on Brand Equity of Samsung Handphone.This research used 10 respondents as the samples who have purchased Samsung Handphone with purposive sample and accidental samples. Then, there was data analysis both quantitatively and qualitatively. The qualitative analysis is the interpretation of data that were obtained in the field and open answer analysis given by the respondents, while quantitative analysis includes: reliability test, validity test, classical assumption test, multiple linear regression analysis, F test, t test and determination coefficient analysis (X).Results of this research indicate that brand image (X1) and brand awareness (X2) are proven to significantly affect the brand equity (Y). Out of two analyzed independent variables, the brand awareness is the variables with the biggest effects on the dependent variable, which then is followed by the brand image. Keywords: Brand Image, Brand Awareness, and Brand Equity
