Abstract

In the auto rooting area, rejected rooted heads undergo scrap process before being discarded. A solder is currently used, which only destroys both eyes and thus, may increase the risk of rework done by irresponsible parties. A new tool using a toggle is preferable as it is more effective in removing the entire face. However, the toggle has a smaller capacity compared to the solder, which prevents the full transition. Upon observation, it is found that there are many non-ergonomic and non-value-added activities. This resultingly increases the risk of Cumulative Trauma Disorders (CTDs), particularly carpal tunnel syndrome, and reduces toggle capacity. Anthropometry and Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) are used to analyze the current posture and dimension. The method used to redesign the scrap workstation is Quality Function Deployment (QFD). The results of this study are that using, the newly improved workstation reduces RULA score from 6 to 2. Based on Nordic Body Map, the operator only feels pain in one body part, compared to the five body parts before improvement. By changing the pinch grip to a power grip, risks associated with carpal tunnel syndrome are minimized. Toggle capacity also increases by 49% from 300 to 448 rooted heads.

Abstract

The production process efficiency is the company's ability to produce optimal output using available resources. When carrying out the production process of aluminium furniture, PT Rajawali Perkasa Furnitur (RPF) has a significantly long cycle time, which results in low efficiency or can be said to be experiencing wastefulness. Through the implementation of lean manufacturing using Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and Process Activity Mapping (PAM) methods, this study aims to minimize the cycle time. The production process of aluminium furniture includes (1) cutting, (2) bending, (3) assembly, (4) leveling, (5) QC, (6) Treatment, (7) powder coating, (8) weaving, (9) touch up, (10) inspect, and (11) packaging. The total cycle time for these processes is 13.431 seconds. Based on the research, it is found that there are 3 non-value-added activities, namely 2 activities in the weaving process and 1 activity in the packaging process. The elimination of these 3 activities results in a reduction of the cycle time by 464 seconds to 12.967 seconds.

Abstract

Yatai Tori management expects the business to double in size from its current condition while facing a minimal market growth of 3.7%. In the Market sector, performance needs to be perfect: tasty menu, Friendly Service, Clean and Attractive tools, Fast responses from the servants, and Clear and easy access to information on social media. In terms of the physical sector, the space of Yatai Tori is sufficient to handle 40 clients per day, which is double the existing performance of 15 customers per day. It should add one person to balance the workload of an employee. Following the Policy sector, management should implement employee compensation to motivate workers to increase performance. And management should find a good supplier to make the minimum possible food cost, increase the favourite menu stock, and decrease the favourite lees menu to control the capacity of Yatai Tori. To elevate the limitation, an investment of Rp. 370.000.000 and a total working capital of Rp. 30.000.000 is required, yielding an internal rate of return of 23.36%.

Abstract

Sebagai produk bernilai tinggi dengan daya saing global, furnitur adalah salah satu komoditas strategis bagi ekonomi Indonesia. Pada produk furnitur, sambungan merupakan salah satu titik yang rentan terjadi kerusakan atau kegagalan konstruksi. Sehingga perlu untuk memilih metode sambungan yang tepat agar meminimalisir terjadinya kegagalan pada sambungan produk furnitur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi tentang perilaku beban kegagalan kompresi diagonal pada sambungan kayu yang berbeda (sambungan klasik dan modern) yang dibuat dengan MDF. Metode sambungan yang dipilih yaitu Dowel (D), Biskuit Joint (B), Cross dowel (C), dan Insert nut (N). Pengujian tekan dengan dua skema telah dilakukan untuk melihat seberapa jauh masing-masing sambungan mampu menahan beban luar. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan, sambungan Cross dowel (C) adalah metode sambungan yang paling disarankan karena mampu menahan beban luar paling tinggi serta kemudahan saat instalasi pada produk furnitur knock-down. Sedangkan sambungan biskuit menjadi metode yang tidak disarankan karena selain proses pembuatan konstruksi yang lebih rumit, berdasarkan hasil pengujian tekan sambungan biskuit adalah sambungan yang mampu menahan beban luar paling rendah.

Abstract

ABSTRACT PT.ABC Indonesia has a project to reduce high number of scraps in Primary Production area. Plastic Injection Molding area contributes over 50% from total scrap in Primary Production area and resulted scrap value that total Rp. 378.803.000 in first quarter of 2023. These scraps happen because of the changeover process procedure. This research use Lean Six Sigma approach through DMAIC Methodology. Several improvements are implemented new procedure for color change and tool change without purging process and slide the hopper when Daily Schedule Adherence achieve 95%. The improvement resulted 57% reduction of scrap in Plastic Injection Molding. In detail, color change and tool change procedure reduce 62% scrap, While the slide hopper process was reduce wrong color scrap by 16%. By this research, the company already saving the cost Rp. 49.237.000 and predicted will save up to Rp. 434.660.000 by the end of year 2023. Keywords: DMAIC, Lean, Six Sigma, Plastic Injection Molding, Purging, Scrap, Wrong Color. ABSTRAK PT.ABC Indonesia memiliki projek untuk mengurangi jumlah skrap di area produksi primer. Area Plastik Injeksi Moulding menyumbang lebih dari 50% dari jumlah skrap pada area produksi primer dan menghasilkan skrap dengan nilai sebesar Rp. 378.803.000 pada kuartal pertama di 2023. Skrap terjadi karena prosedur proses changeover. Riset ini mengaplikasikan pendekatan Lean Six Sigma melalui metode DMAIC. Adapun penyempurnaan yang dilakukan adalah mengimplementasikan prosedur baru untuk pergantian warna dan juga pergantian alat tanpa perlu proses purging, menggeser hopper saat Keterpenuhan Jadwal Harian sudah mencapai angka 95%. Penyempurnaan ini menghasilkan berkurangnya skrap sebesar 57% pada area Plastik Injeksi Moulding. Secara rinci, prosedur penggantian warna dan penggantian alat mengurangi skrap sebesar 62%, dan proses penggeseran hopper mengurangi skrap wrong color sebesar 16%. Dari riset ini, perusahaan sudah melakukan penghematan sebesar Rp. 49.237.000 dan diperkirakan akan menghemat sampai dengan Rp. 434.660.000 di akhir tahun 2023. Keywords: DMAIC, Lean, Six Sigma, Plastik Injeksi Moulding, Purging, Skrap, Wrong Color.

Abstract

PT. Philnesia International Semarang merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang Indoor dan Outdoor Furniture Manufacturer dengan jenis industri (KLUI) mebel dari kayu. Salah satu proses produksi di PT. Philnesia International Semarang yang masih bersifat manual adalah proses perakitan (assembling). Pekerja mengeluhkan rasa sakit dan kelelahan pada bagian tubuh. Penelitian tentang analisis postur kerja pada proses perakitan dilakukan agar pekerja tidak mengalami rasa sakit dan kelelahan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) dan Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Nilai postur kerja pada proses perakitan di PT. Philnesia International Semarang dengan metode REBA dan RULA adalah 6 Nilai tersebut menunjukkan bahwa postur kerja harus segera diperbaiki dan dilakukan perancangan fasilitas yang mendukung kenyamanan pekerjaan.
