Abstract

Balikpapan City is a buffer city for the for the new National Capital in the Province of East Kalimantan, which is not spared from forest and land fires. In tackling forest and land fires the actors who play a role are the community. Strengthening community institutions, in this case, the East Kalimantan Dayak Alliance, provides a stimulus for the development of disaster management in the regions. But this is not in line with what is expected. Often these customary institutions are not involved in development planning so there are many records for the government so that the involvement and representation of indigenous peoples can be accommodated. This study aims to analyze the culture of local wisdom and approach of participation of the East Kalimantan Dayak Alliance in Balikpapan City in dealing with forest and land fire disasters. The research approach used in this study is a qualitative method using a purposive sampling technique. Data obtained through interviews, observations and documentation. The results showed that local wisdom was reflected in long-standing living habits in managing land. The Dayak community has a quick response in extinguishing fires and has active participation in fighting forest and land fires.

Abstract

Abstract

Serdang Bedagai has successfully developed a literacy program. This success has led to Serdang Bedagai receiving the Literacy Award from the Ministry of Education and Culture in 2017. This success cannot be separated from the leadership role of Ir. H. Soekirman as Regent of Serdang Bedagai. There are two main roles of the Regent's leadership, Ir. H. Abstract

The policy on management and management of swallow nests aims to regulate the management and management of swallow nests in order to contribute to the community and local government. This policy was outlined in Pekanbaru City Regulation Number 3 of 2007 concerning Business Permit for the Management and Management of Swallow's Nest. Several problems arise, among others, the number of business licenses that are still very minimal which has an impact on the contribution of regional income, noise pollution, air pollution, environmental impacts and health problems. This study aims to analyze the implementation of management policies and management of swallow's nests in Pekanbaru City. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach through literature study. Analysis of policy implementation is seen through the Edward III model, which pays attention to the effectiveness of implementation in terms of communication, resources, disposition and bureaucratic structure. The results of the study concluded that the implementation of the management and management policy for swallow nests has not run effectively. In controlling the swallow breeding business permit, there are many obstacles, among others, coordination between related agencies that has not been running well, supervision by related agencies which is still very low, low levels of employer compliance due to sanctions that have never been applied, so there needs to be an evaluation of policies when this is by paying more attention to environmental impacts and firmer sanctions.

Abstract

Abstract

The research aim is to explore friendship among teenagers. Interesting about friendship is because conflict is often happened and friendship is getting decline. The conflict began when negotiation process was failed. Then, their communication process will change. Researcher wants to explore what makes conflict among teenagers and the solutions. This research is quantitative descriptive. Research site is in Kartika I-II High School Medan, with consideration of pre-survey questionnaire result of research. 64% respondents have conflict with their friends.

Abstract

Discrimination towards children with down syndrome is still happening. Courtesy stigma concept makes parents with down syndrome children feel discrimination. Parents are the sole social support of the child. POTADS purpose as a platform for other Indonesians’ parents and children to show their support with each other who faced the same problem. They can support it through WhatsApp group and open for anyone who faced discrimination. Phenomenology method used to find how the consciousness of four informants called by Mrs. Leli, Mrs. Ni Luh, Mrs. Ernie, and Mrs. Nunung in using POTADS WhatsApp group. The conscious experiences will create an interpretation of it. In-depth interviews were conducted to obtain research data. The result shows that this group is beneficial because, in addition to being able to get useful information support for childcare, they also get the emotional support that is useful as a shield against courtesy stigma. The support they get from the WhatsApp group is further enhanced when there is a face-to-face meeting.
