Abstract

Self-efficacy of breastfeeding (BSE) is a mother's confidence in her ability to succeed in providing exclusive breastfeeding. To achieve successful care, it takes a strong place to be able to provide exclusive breastfeeding. One effort that can improve the Self-Efficiency of Breastfeeding (BSE) is verbal persuasion that is the support or advice given by others which is enhanced and becomes a source of strength for mothers issued by education by health workers. The study aims to determine the effect of health education with the Snow Balling method on Breastfeeding Self Efficacy in Primigravida mothers. The research design uses the Posstest Only Control Design approach. Samples were taken from 32 Primigravida mothers who were divided into 2 groups randomly. Retrieval of data using the BSES questionnaire and analyzed using the Mann Whitney U Test (α <0,05).The results showed that more than Primigravida mothers who were not given health education had a low BSE (average BSES score 12.5), and almost all Primigravida mothers who were given health education about lactation by the snow balling method had high BSE (average average BSES score 20.5). Statistical test results showed that there was an effect of health education with the Snow Balling method on Breastfeeding Self Efficacy in Primigravida mothers (p = 0.004).t is recommended that health workers in providing health education not only use the lecture method but with other more interactive methods such as snow balling.

Abstract

Neonatal mortality rate is one indicator to assess health in the community. According to WHO, the main causes of neonatal death include prematurity, neonatal asphyxia, and neonatal sepsis. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between premature rupture of membranes and asphyxia in newborns at RSUD Dr. Soegiri Lamongan. This study used an analytical method with a cross sectional approach. The total sample was 240 newborns, consisting of babies with asphyxia and normal babies. Sampling with simple random sampling. Collecting data using a check list. Data taken from patient medical records (secondary data). Data analysis used the Chi Square test with a significance level of α <0.05. The results of the analysis with the Chi square test showed that the value of Asympt.Sig. (2-sided) on the Pearson Chi square test is 0.000 less than 0.05. So it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between PROM/KPD and the incidence of neonatal asphyxia in the delivery room of dr. Soegiri Lamongan. Asphyschia neonatorum is a complication of newborns which one of the contributing factors is PROM. Therefore, emergency obstetric and newborn care efforts should be strengthened to prevent neonatal asphyxia. It is hoped that health workers in the delivery room will carry out careful monitoring of labor, and identify and take appropriate measures to help reduce the occurrence of neonatal asphyxia

Abstract

Labor pain is conventionally defined similarly to acute pain and exhibits a complex constellation of multiple physiological and psychological factors. Pressure, anxiety, fear, feelings of self-efficacy, coping skills, and social support are influential factors regarding a woman’s perception of pain and labor experiences. This pain varies greatly and often described as the most extreme pain that can be experienced or as agony or like torture that women may go through. Although epidural analgesia is generally accepted to be the gold standard method in intrapartum analgesia, there are risks associated with their use. Any less invasive but effective non-pharmacological approaches that can be used as an analgesic adjunct would be of great importance to the obstetric community. In recent years, clinical hypnosis and birth ball exercise have become an area of increasing clinical interest as methods to help the mother cope with the laboring process. They are frequently applicable, low-cost, and can be used as a supplementary treatment with other medications. Given widespread claims of efficacy, we aimed to review the available evidence regarding its effectiveness as an adjunct therapy for the management of labor and delivery pain. This is important as there is increasing interest among expectant parents and some health care providers about these methods for pain relief during the childbirth process. While many of some investigations show positive effects on the outcome studied, in fact, there are conflicting findings in others showing no statistically significant of its benefits.

Abstract

Hydroquinone is a chemical compound widely used in cosmetics that acts as a removal of black spots/spots on the face. The use of hydroquinone in cosmetics, according to BPOM regulations, is only allowed with a maximum level of 2%. Excessive use of hydroquinone can cause pigment abnormalities in the face. The materials used in this study were hydroquinone BPFI, 96% ethanol, absolute ethanol, sodium sulfate, methanol (HPLC grade), aquadest, ethyl acetate, and face cream samples (X and Y). Qualitative and quantitative analysis of hydroquinone content in both face cream samples was carried out by TLC and HPLC methods. The results of the qualitative analysis by TLC on both face cream samples (X and Y creams) showed that both samples had the same Rf value 1as the standard hydroquinone Rf while the HPLC chromatogram results of both samples had the same retention time as the standard hydroquinone. Simultaneously, the results of quantitative analysis on cream X samples contained hydroquinone of 3.06% and Y cream of 4.15%. From these results, both face cream samples positive contained hydroquinone with levels> 2%.

Abstract

Early mobilization of mothers after cesarean section (SC), is very important in the recovery of the mother's condition to immediately increase the independence of the mother. The independence of post SC mothers is needed so that mothers can adapt to their new roles. The initial survey results of post SC post partum mothers 24 hours, 6 mothers on day 1, 2 (33.3%) have not been able to mobilize early and 4 (66.6%) mothers can move their legs, tilted right and left. This shows that early mobilization is not yet in stages. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of increasing self-efficacy with the ability to mobilize early. The quantitative research design uses quasi experimental design with posttest only design with control group. The population of all post SC postpartum mothers in the puerperium with a sample size of 34, used a simple random sampling method. The independent variable research increased self efficacy while the dependent variable was early mobilization ability. Data collection uses a checklist and observation sheet. The collected data were analyzed using Independent Test sample T Test, the results obtained p = 0,000 (P <0.05), showing Ho is rejected means that there is an influence of efforts to increase self efficacy on the ability of mothers to mobilize early. It can be concluded that self efficacy is one aspect that can improve the ability of early mobilization of post SC postpartum mothers according to stages so that it can help the recovery of maternal conditions during the postpartum period.
