Abstract

Chili (Capsicum annuum L.) is a horticultural commodity that has high economic value and is widely used for both household and industrial needs. This study aims to identify the quantitative characters of IPB chili varieties in the Karawang Lowlands that have the best potential in the Karawang Lowlands.This research was conducted from April 2022 to August 2022 at the Lahan Percobaan PERURI in Teluk Jambe Timur, Karawang Regency, West Java. This study was arranged using a Ramdomized Group Design (RGD) with 10 genotype treatments and 3 replications, in each land there were 10 samples with a total of 300 experimental units. The data were analyzed using analysis of variance and DMRT (Duncan Multiple Range Test) at 5% level. The results of this experiment indicated that there was a significant effect of the quantitative character appearance of red chili on the components of flowering age, harvesting age, plant height, fruit weight, fruit diameter, fruit weight, 1000 seed weight, number of each fruit plant, weight of each land, productivity. The G1, G2, and G3 genotypes have the potential to be listed as new varieties because they have better yielding power that is different from the genotypes of other commercial varieties..Keywords: hybrid, character, performance, productivity, superior varieties

Abstract

Indonesia has quite serious environmental problems, one of which is the waste problem, waste production in Indonesia is always increasing every day, both organic and inorganic waste. One of the organic waste recycling techniques is the bioconversion method. Organisms that play a role in the bioconversion process can be fungi or insect larvae. These BSF larvae are known as maggots or "maggots". Aras Kabu Village is one of the villages in the Beringin sub-district, Deli Serdang Regency. Population growth was 1.86% from 2015. The purpose of this research was to analyze the Prospects for Cultivating Maggot (Black Soldier Fly Larvae) to Build the Village Economy and Reduce Household Waste in Aras Kabu Village, Beringin District, Deli Serdang Regency. This research was conducted in Aras kabu village from October to November 2022. This research was conducted using an experimental method. The experimental method used was to determine the amount of maggot that could be produced from household waste. The results of the experimental method for making maggot will be used to calculate the amount of maggot that can be produced in Aras Kabu Village if all the remaining household waste can be collected. The number of families in Aras Kabu Village is 186 families. The results showed that the calculation of the Revenue Cost Ratio per month in the mangosteen cultivation business in Aras Kabu Village, Beringin District, Deli Serdang Regency obtained a result of 10.42. Abstract

The necessity of chili (Capsicum annuum L.) increases highly in line with the enhancement of residents and the food industry development that need chili ingredients. It affects the commodity to become an often-discussed commodity in society because its price can increase highly in certain conditions. The study aimed to obtain the resistance of anthracnose disease to ten varieties of chili (Capsicum annuum L.) hybrid IPB in Karawang lower altitudes. The research was conducted in Trial Field of Peruri, Teluk Jambe Sub-district, Karawang District, Jawa Barat from February to July 2022. The research used the randomized complete group design (RKLT) method with 3 replications. There are 10 treatments such as A (F1074005), B (F1074003), C (F1374005), D (F1374003), E (CH3), F (BAJA), G (BALEBAT), H (ELEGANCE), I (IMPERIAL 10), dan J (GADA). Treatment factor was analyzed with variety analysis and if F test at  5%  level was significant, then continued DMRT test at 5% level to find out the best treatments. Treatment I (IMPERIAL 10) had highest result on fruit length and fruit stalk length and was highly resistant to anthracnose disease. Treatment C (Genotype F1374005) had highest result on fruit weight and was highly resistant to anthracnose disease. Keywords: anthracnose, chili, genotype

Abstract

Kebutuhan buah tomat di Indonesia selalu meningkat sehingga perlu adanya tindakan peningkatan produksi dengan pemanfaatan mikroorganisme tanah dan pemupukan. Cendawan mikoriza arbuskular merupakan salah satu mikroorganisme tanah yang mampu meningkatkan penyerapan unsur hara dalam tanah sehingga memenuhi kebutuhan tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi dosis aplikasi inokulum cendawan mikoriza arbuskular (CMA) dan pemupukan yang terbaik untuk pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman tomat. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret 2022 sampai dengan bulan Juni 2022 di Green House, Laboratorium Fisiologi dan Pemuliaan Tanaman, Laboratorium Ekologi dan Produksi Tanaman, Fakultas Peternakan dan Pertanian, Universitas Diponegoro, Semarang. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak lengkap (RAL) Faktorial 3 x 5 dengan 3 kali ulangan. Faktor pertama adalah perbedaan dosis CMA, yaitu J0: 0 g/tanaman, J1: 10 g/tanaman, J2: 20 g/tanaman. Faktor kedua adalah perbedaan dosis pemupukan yaitu, P1 = 60 kg/ha N, P2O5, dan K2O (400 kg/ha), P2 = 90 kg/ha N, P2O5, dan K2O (600 kg/ha), P3 = 120 kg/ha N, P2O5, dan K2O (800 kg/ha), P4 = 150 kg/ha N, P2O5, dan K2O (1000 kg/ha), P5 = 180 kg/ha N, P2O5, dan K2O (1200 kg/ha). Data dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) dan uji lanjut dengan Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) pada taraf lima persen (5%). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan dosis inokulum cendawan mikoriza arbuskular memberikan pengaruh nyata pada parameter persentase kolonisasi cendawan mikoriza dan jumlah daun tanaman tomat.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of nitrogen doses based on water hyacinth compost and the fermentation time on the growth and production of pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.). The research was carried out from March 24 to May 29, 2021 at the Greenhouse, Ecology and Plant Production Laboratory, Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences. A 5 x 3 factorial experiment based on a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 replications was used in this study. The first factor was the dose of nitrogen-based water hyacinth compost (WHC) 0 kg N/ha, K0; 69 kg N/ha equivalent to 4.1 tons of WHC/ha, K1; 138 kg N/ha equivalent to 8.2 tons of WHC/ha, K2; 207 kg N/ ha is equivalent to 12.3 tons of WHC/ha, K3; and 276 kg N/ha is equivalent to 16.4 tons of WHC/ha, K4. The second factor was the fermentation time during the composting process which consists of 21, 28 and 35 days, respectively. Parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, chlorophyll content, shoot and root fresh weight, harvest index. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance and tested further using Duncan's test at 5% level. Based on the research results, it may be concluded that the best performance of pakcoy was achieved at a WHC-based nitrogen dose of 276 kgN/ha and at 35 days. Keywords : nitrogen dose, ripening time, pakcoy

Abstract

The reasearch aimed to examine the effect of water hyacinth compost fertilizer dosage on the growth and yield of pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) on various planting media. The research was conducted from February 2022 to April 2022 at the Green House of the Food Plant Protection and Horticulture Agency of Central Java Province and the Laboratory of Plant Ecology and Production, Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture, Diponegoro University, Semarang. The research design used was a 4 x 3 factorial completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 replications. The first factor (P) consisted of 4 levels of water hyacinth compost dosage, namely P0 = control, P1 = 25 tons/ha, P2 = 30 tons/ha and P3 = 35 tons/ha. The second factor (K) consists of several types of planting media, namely K0 = soil, K1 = soil + husk charcoal (3:1) and K2 = soil + cocopeat (3:1). Parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, fresh weight and dry weight of plants, root length, root weight, total chlorophyll and harvest index. The data obtained were tested using the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and the results that significantly affected the observed parameters were then further tested using Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at the level 5%.The results showed that the dose of 25 tons of water hyacinth compost fertilizer with soil planting media can increase the growth and yield of pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) the highest and most efficiently. Keywords: dose, compost fertilizer, pakcoy

Abstract

Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is a very important commodity. The nutritional content in rice makes rice a very important commodity to meet food needs. One of the efforts that can be made to increase rice productivity is to create new superior rice varieties that have high yields. This study aims to examine and determine the varied morphological characteristics of the new superior varieties of rice, and determine how close the kinship relationship is between 51 new superior varieties of rice (Oryza sativa L.) and determine the advantages of each variety. This research was conducted at the Experimental Garden of the Indonesian Rice Research Center located in Sukamandijaya Village, Ciasem District, Subang Regency, West Java. The time for conducting the research was carried out in September 2021-March 2022. The research method used was a descriptive method, with 51 treatments of new superior rice varieties. Each treatment was repeated 3 times so that there were 153 experimental units. Each observational data on morphological characters of 51 superior rice varieties (Oryza sativa L.) was analyzed by clustering using the UPGMA method with NTSYS 2.02i and 2.11a software. The results showed that the results of the cluster analysis formed 6 main groups at a similarity coefficient value of 0.72 (72%). There are 7 closest kinship relationships and have the farthest kinship in inpari 1 and Inpago 9 varieties. Keywords : Characterization, Morphology, New superior varieties, Clustering, Rice

Abstract

Straw mushroom (Volvariella volvaceae) is a type of edible mushroom that is great demand because it has good nutrition and high economic value. In the cultivation of straw mushroom, pure culture is needed which is free from contamination and has superior genetic characteristics both in terms of quality and quantity, which will then produce superior straw mushroom seeds. Superior seeds are factors that affect the production and yield of straw mushroom. The purpose of this study was to obtain one hopeful isolate of the straw mushroom Faperta UNSIKA that gave the best mycelial growth in vitro. The research was conducted at the Laboratory of Biotechnology and Plant Breeding, Faculty of Agriculture, Singaperbangsa Karawang University, located in Puseurjaya Village, Telukjambe Timur District, Karawang Regency and start from December 2022 - February 2023. The research method used was experimental with a single factor Randomized Block Design (RBD). There are 7 treatments, namely A (White Elder), B (Semi Elder), C (FP016), D (FP018), E (FP019), F (FP020) and G (FP021). Each treatments was repeated 5 times. The effect of the treatment was analyzed by analysis of variance and if the F test at 5% level was significant, to find out the best treatment, proceed with the DMRT (Duncan Multiple Range Test) at the 5% level. The results showed that there was a significant effect of some numbers hopeful isolate straw mushroom Faperta UNSIKA on the growth of F2 mycelia on PDA media and F3 on baglog in vitro. Treatment A (White Elder) gave the highest yield on the growth diameter of F2 mycelia on PDA media of 6,40 cm with the highest growth rate of 1,91 cm/day and treatment E (FP019) gave the highest yield on the growth length of F3 mycelia baglog of 13,21 cm with the highest growth rate of 2,70 cm/day. Keywords: Isolate Faperta UNSIKA, Mycelia, Straw Mushroom

Abstract

The wijaya kusuma plant is included in the cactus type ornamental plant which has high economic value and it’s profitable. High demand makes the need for wijaya kusuma plants require fast and efficient method of propagation. Plants propagation by cuttings relatively fast and practical to produce plants that are ready for sale. One step to accelerate growth of roots and shoots is by adding synthetic ZPT and soak before planting. The aim of this study was to obtain concentration of synthetic ZPT that gave the best growth of wijaya kusuma (Epiphyllum oxypetalum) cuttings for each long soaking. This experiment was carried out in Sukamulya Viillage, Sukatani, Bekasi Regency, West Java. The experiment was carried out in August-November 2022. The research used was an experimental method using factorial 3x3 Randomized Block Design (RBD), The first factor is the long soaking, there are 3 levels, namely 11 (150 minutes), l2 (180 minutes), and l3 (210 minutes) The second factor has 3 levels, namely k1 (150 ppm), k2 (200 ppm), and k3 (250 ppm). There was an interaction effect between long soaking and synthetic ZPT concentration on root length and shoot length at 7 mst, 8 mst and 10 mst. Treatment of l2k1 (long soaking 180 minutes+ZPT concentration 150 ppm) resulted in an average shoot length longest at 10 mst of 20,500 cm Treatment l1k1 (long soaking 150 minutes+ZPT concentration 150 ppm) and resulted in the longest root average of 11.958 cm.Key words: soaking, concentration ZPT, wijaya kusuma.

Abstract

This study was aimed to examine the effect of nitrogen-based fertilizers based on coffee grounds and types of planting media on the growth and yield of mustard greens (Brassica juncea L.). The research was carried out on October 03, 2021 – March 20, 2022, at the Green House and at the Ecology and Plant Production Laboratory, Faculty of Animal and Agricultual Sciences, Diponegoro University, Semarang. The factorial experiment with a 4 x 3 completely randomized design with 3 replication was used in the study. The first factor (P) consist of 4 levels of nitrogen dose based on coffee grounds organic fertilizer (CGOF) , namely P0 = control, P1 = 150 kg N/ha equivalent to 10,5 tons CGOF/ha, P2 = 170 kg N/ha equivalent to 11,9 tons CGOF/ha and P3 = 190 kg N/ha equivalent to 13,3 tons CGOF/ha. The second factor (M) consists of several kinds of planting media, namely M1 = soil, M2 = soil + husk charcoal (3:1) and M3 = soil + cocopeat (3:1). The recommended dose of nitrogen used in the study was 170 kg N/ha. The parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, root length, fresh weight, plant dry weight, harvest index and root crown ratio. The data obtained were tested using the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and the results that significantly affected the observed parameters were then further tested using Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at the level 5%.Keywords: dose, nitrogen, coffee grounds, mustard greens.
