Abstract

Soybean (Glycine max L.), which is widely grown in Indonesia, is a popular food crop because of its high protein content. This plant plays an important role in increasing protein intake for the community, because it is a safe and economically affordable source of vegetable protein. To increase the productivity of soybean plants, it is not only important to choose quality seed varieties, but also to implement appropriate cultivation practices. One of the main techniques is to use superior seed varieties. Apart from that, increasing the quality and yield of soybean production can be achieved by providing fertilizer that meets the nutritional needs of plants. This research used a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 2 factors and 2 replications to obtain 24 research plots. Factor I of Branglai Fertilizer (B) which consists of 4 levels, namely: B0=0ml/liter.air/plant, B1=20ml/liter.air /polybag, B2=40 ml/liter.air/polybag, B3 = 60 ml/ liter. water/polybag. Abstract

The determination of the application of planting media during seedling is a basic thing that needs to be known (Bayfurqon, 2019).  This study aims to determine the effect of the combination of planting media on the seeding of apple cucumber plants (Cucumis sp.) The experiment was carried out at  the screen house on Jalan Gang Histori, Kalijaya Hamlet 1 RT 003/RW 009 North Rengasdengklok Village, Rengasdengklok District, Karawang Regency starting from March 2024 – April 2024. The research method used was an experimental method using a single-factor Group Random Design (RAK) with 7 treatments that were repeated 4 (four) times, namely: m0 (soil), m1 (Cocopeat), m2 (husk charcoal), m3 (Cocopeat + cow manure), m4 (husk charcoal + cow manure), m5 (Cocopeat + cow manure + soil) and m6 (husk charcoal + cow manure + soil). The effect of the treatment was analyzed using the 5% F test, so to find out the best treatment, it was followed by the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at the 5% level. The results showed that the combination of planting media had a real influence on the seeding of apple cucumbers (Cucumis sp.). The M0 (soil) treatment gave the best results in plant height (13.34 cm), stem diameter in M0 treatment (2.35 mm), number of leaves in M0 treatment (4.12 leaves), leaf area in M0 treatment (11.28 cm2), plant fresh weight in M0 treatment (1.29 g) and success percentage in M6 treatment (100.00%), but there was no significant difference in growth synchronicity. Keywords: cucumber apple, nursery, combination of planting media

Abstract

Covering of Mucuna bracteate L. cuttings plays an important role in the survival rate of Mucuna Bracteata plants, as it helps maintain optimal humidity and temperature levels. The adjustment process after the cover is opened is very important before moving the cuttings to open land. This study aims to measure the impact of covering on the survival rate of cuttings. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RAK). The treatments used were Covered (P1) and Uncovered (P2), by applying Topsoil 3kg (K0), Topsoil 1.5kg + Sand 1.5kg (K1), Topsoil 1.5kg + Black Soil 1.5kg (K2), Topsoil 1.5kg + Cow Manure 1.5kg (K3). This research was conducted from August 10 to September 9, 2024. This research was conducted in the Yard of a House in Ngaraja 1 Village, Dolok Merawan District, Serdang Bedagai Regency. Based on the Least Significant Difference (LSD) Test, Covering and Topsoil (P1K0) consistently showed the best results in terms of number of shoots, tendril length, number of leaves and Root Length. This indicates that covering and topsoil provide optimal conditions for the early growth of Mucuna plants. Topsoil and sand (P1K1) showed the highest root volume. This suggests that the addition of sand to the topsoil may have increased aeration and water drainage, thus encouraging root development. Keywords: covering, vegetative growth, Mucuna bracteata L.

Abstract

One of the key factors for successful oyster mushroom cultivation is the use of superior spawn. However, mushroom farmers in the Karawang region face challenges in obtaining affordable and high-quality spawn. To address this issue, efforts have been made to provide superior spawn to oyster mushroom cultivators in Karawang. In a study conducted in Karawang, researchers crossed two parental strains of oyster mushrooms: one from Cilamaya Kulon (white oyster mushroom) and the other semi-wild strain from Purwasari. This crossbreeding resulted in several candidate spawn isolates (G5 Faperta Unsika) with desirable traits inherited from both parent strains. The goal was to identify the best-performing isolate for spawn production. The research was carried out in a 6.5 m x 4 m mushroom house in Dusun Pasir Buah, Desa Pasir Mulya, Kecamatan Majalaya, Kabupaten Karawang. Over a period of 2 months (from April to May 2024), six different spawn isolates were compared: A (G5 FP Semi), B (G5 FP Putih), C (G5 FP001), D (G5 FP010), E (G5 FP024), and F (G5 FP039). Each treatment was replicated five times. The results showed that treatment B (G5 FP Putih) performed the best, with an average harvest weight per tray of 1237.36 g and a total yield of 89.09 kg per mushroom house. Isolate F (G5 FP039) also performed well, with an average harvest weight of 1212.12 g per tray and a yield of 87.27 kg per mushroom house. Therefore, isolate FP039 is recommended as a superior spawn for oyster mushroom cultivation in Karawang Keywords: straw mushroom, spreading seeds, G5 Faperta Unsika isolate

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the tropical countries that has a variety of plants including vegetables and fruits. One that has the largest production is carrots (Daucus carota L.). Carrots are a type of shrub-shaped vegetable plant, which grows upright with a height of 30-100 cm or more. Carrots (Daucus carota L.) are a tuberous vegetable type plant that is usually reddish yellow or yellowish orange with a wood-like texture. The edible part of a carrot is the bulb or root. The plant stores food reserves in the bulb. The stem is short, has a taproot that changes its shape and function into a round and elongated tuber. The skin of carrot bulbs is thin and if eaten raw, it feels crunchy and slightly sweet. Here's a picture of a carrot plant. One way to increase the yield of carrot plants is by increasing soil productivity, using the addition of NPK fertilizer. This study used a factorial randomized group design (RAK). For accuracy in this study, it was repeated 3 times. namely: NPK fertilizer (N) with 3 levels, namely: N0 = Control, N1 = 15 g/plot, and N2 = 25 g/plot. From the ANOVA test results, the variance of treatments that have a significant effect is continued with the Duncan DMRT test at the 5% level. The results of the ANOVA test showed that the effect of NPK fertilizer treatment on plant height 21 hst and 28 hst, the number of leaves had no significant effect, but the observation of the diameter of the base of the tuber, the fresh weight of the plant per sample and the fresh weight of the plant per plot had a significant effect.  Keywords: NPK fertilizer, NPK dosage, and carrot plants

Abstract

This study aimed to enhance mung bean productivity through the combination of organic fertilizer (cow manure) and plant growth regulators (ZPT). Using a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD), this study tested the effects of different doses of cow manure and ZPT on the growth and yield of Vima 5 mung bean variety. The results showed that cow manure had a more significant positive effect than PGRs in increasing pod weight per plant. Although visual observations indicated increased growth, there were no statistically significant differences between treatments. This study concludes that the use of cow manure can be a good alternative to improve mung bean productivity, but further research is needed to optimize the combination of cow manure and ZPT doses. Keywords: mung bean, ZPT, cow manure
