Abstract

Shallots are known as a type of spice for food flavoring and also as a traditional medicine whose benefits have been felt by the wider community. The production of shallots in Sijunjung Regency has not shown optimal results even though NPK fertilizers have been used. To overcome this, it is necessary to add organic fertilizers such as husk charcoal. This study aims to determine the effect of the growth and production of Allium cepa (L.) shallots on the combination of applying npk fertilizer and husk charcoal.The research was in the form of an experiment using a complete randomized design (RAL) with five treatments and four replicates. P0 treatment (NPK 0g/polybag + husk charcoal 0g/polybag), P1 treatment (NPK 1.25g/polybag x 8 + husk charcoal 80g/polybag), P2 treatment (NPK 1.30g/polybag x 8 + husk charcoal 90g/polybag), P3 treatment (NPK 1.35g/polybag x 8 + husk charcoal 100g/polybag), P4 treatment (NPK 1.40g/polybag x 8 + husk charcoal 110g/polybag). The variables observed were plant height, number of leaves per clump, number of tubers per clump, wet weight and dry weight. Furthermore, the data was analyzed using a variety of fingerprint analysis followed by a DMRT test with a level of 5% on data that had a real effect. The results showed that the combination of NPK fertilizer and husk charcoal had a real effect on the number of leaves per clump (P <0.05) and had no real effect on plant height, number of tubers per clump, wet weight and dry weight. The P4 treatment produced the highest number of leaves (34.50 leaves), while the highest number of bulbs was also achieved by the same treatment with an average of 8.75 bulbs per clump. The conclusion of the study results is Overall, the application of NPK and husk charcoal shows the potential for an increase in the number of leaves, but it is not significant in other aspects. Keyword: shallots, husk charcoal, NPK, growth, production

Abstract

Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) is one of the fruit vegetables that is widely consumed by the people of Indonesia. The low production of cucumber in Indonesia is caused by several factors including climatic factors, farming methods such as tillage, fertilization, irrigation, and pests and diseases. The right solution to overcome these problems and increase cucumber production in Indonesia is the Hydroponic farming technique. Hydroponics is a way of growing plants without using soil as a place to grow plants but using water or other porous materials such as gravel, sand, husk charcoal and tile fragments as planting media. Hydroponic cultivation uses AB Mix solution as a source of nutrients for plants. AB Mix solution is a specially formulated fertilizer from mineral salts that can be dissolved in water containing important nutrients needed by hydroponic plants. This research was conducted from May to August 2023. The research was conducted at Blasta Urban Farming Padang which is located at Jl. Bunda Raya No. 6 Ulak karang Utara, Padang. The design used in this study was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 10 replicates so that 30 experimental samples were obtained. The treatments given in this study were A = 250 ml nutrient + water (800 ppm), B = 150 ml nutrient + water (400 ppm), C = 400 ml nutrient + water (1,200 ppm). The research data were analyzed using anova table and continued with BNJ further test. The parameters observed were flower emergence time, plant height, number of leaves, number of flowers per plant, number of fruits per plant, weight per fruit.  Keywords: ab mix solution concentration, cucumber, hydroponic

Abstract

The mustard plant is one of the horticultural commodities that is popular with the public because it has high fiber and nutritional content so it has high economic selling value. Various cultivation techniques that can be done to increase mustard greens production are by applying liquid organic fertilizer which can increase plant growth and production. Liquid organic fertilizer is an organic fertilizer designed as a balanced food complete with macro and micro nutrients for various types of plants. This research aims to determine the effect of mustard greens growth and production on the provision of liquid organic fertilizer. This research used a non-factorial randomized block design (RAK) with 5 treatment levels. The first factor is the use of liquid organic fertilizer (P0: 0 cc/l; P1: 2 cc/l; P2: 4 cc/l; P3: 6 cc/l; P4: 8 cc/l).The results showed that liquid organic fertilizer had a significant effect on leaf area but had no significant effect on plant height. The most efficient concentration of liquid organic fertilizer for the growth and production of mustard greens is 6 cc/liter. Keywords : mustard greens, liquid organic fertilizer, growth

Abstract

Soybean is a plant that has a significant role in responding to food needs and improving people's nutrition because it is an economically affordable source of vegetable protein when compared to other protein sources such as meat, milk and fish. The use of superior seed varieties and supported by the use of appropriate fertilizer also has a very important role in the continued growth of soybean plants. This research used a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 2 factors and 3 replications to obtain 36 research plots. Factor I Biological Fertilizer (H) which consists of 4 levels, namely: H0 = 0 ml/liter.air/plant, H1=10 ml/ liter.air /polybag, H2=20 ml/ liter.air/polybag, H3= 30 ml/ liter. water/polybag. Factor II Soybean Variety (V) which consists of 3 levels, namely: V1 = Dega 1 Variety, V2 = Ring 1 Variety, V3 = Devon 1 Variety. The results showed that the use of biological fertilizer had no significant effect on all observed parameters, whereas The use of varieties has a very significant effect on all observed parameters. Keywords: soybean, fertilizer, varieties

Abstract

The research on the Response of Natural Growth Regulator Coconut Water on the Germination of Jengkol (Pithecellobium jiringa) was conducted from February to April 2022 in Nagari Pematang Panjang, Sijunjung District, Sijunjung Regency. The aim of this study was to examine the effect of coconut water on the germination of jengkol and to determine the optimal dosage of coconut water for jengkol seed germination. The research utilized a completely randomized design (CRD) with five treatment levels: B0 (Control), B1 (25% Coconut Water), B2 (50% Coconut Water), B3 (75% Coconut Water), and B4 (100% Coconut Water). Data were analyzed using the F-test at a 5% significance level, and if the calculated F value was greater than the table F value at 5%, Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) was applied at the same significance level. The observed variables included the time of radicle emergence, time of epicotyl emergence, time of first leaf emergence, plant height, and root length. The results showed an interaction between the doses of coconut water applied to the jengkol seeds, with the 50% coconut water treatment yielding the best results for jengkol germination. Keywords: natural growth regulator, germination, jengkol

Abstract

Pakcoy plants have an economic aspect and the business is worth developing or cultivating to meet consumer demand which is increasing over time. Increasing the production of pakcoy plants can be done by improving the fertility of the planting medium by using FertoMax biofertilizer and cow dung fertilizer. This research used a Randomized Block Design with 2 factors and 3 replications to obtain 48 research plots. Factor I of FertoMax Biological Fertilizer (S) which consists of 4 levels, namely: S0 = 0 ml/polybag, S1 = 5 ml/polybag, S2 = 10 ml/polybag, S3 = 15ml/polybag. Factor II Cow Manure (P) which consists of 4 levels, namely: P0 = 0 g/polybag P1 = 100 g/polybag, P2 = 200 g/polybag, P3= 300 g/polybag. The parameters observed in this study were plant height, number of leaves, leaf length, leaf width, tuber diameter, sample plant weight, plant weight per plot. The results of the study showed that the use of FertoMax biofertilizer with the best growth and production was at a dose of 15 ml/polybag while giving The best dose of cow dung fertilizer is 300 g/polybag. Keywords: pakcoy, fertomax biological fertilizer, cow manure

Abstract

Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is one of the main food crops for most Indonesians. Integrated agriculture or mixed agriculture is a concept of agriculture that supports sustainable agriculture by involving crops and animals in the same land to reduce external inputs, due to mutual support between one component and another. This research was conducted with the aim to see the effect of duck rice cropping patterns in reducing pest and weed populations in rice plants (Oryza sativa L.). The research was conducted on farmers' land in Keramat Gajah Village, Galang District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province. An experimental approach was used in the investigation, including treatments both with and without ducks. Ducks were introduced to the paddy field when the plants were 21 days old until the plants were 55 days old. The number of ducks used was 10 ducks per rante (400 m2). The data obtained were tested using paired t-test analysis. The outcomes demonstrated that, whereas the treatment using ducks did not significantly alter the population of gold snails, it did considerably alter the populations of earthworms (10 and 12 WATP) and weeds (8 and 10 WATP). Keywords: ducks, earthworms, gold snails, paddy, weeds

Abstract

The success of merang mushroom cultivation is determined by the use of quality seeds. Mushroom farmers in Karawang Regency still have difficulty in getting superior seeds at a quality price. Efforts to overcome this are by procuring superior seeds for merang mushroom cultivators in Karawang Regency. The isolate of prospective seedlings G5 of Faperta Unsika merang mushroom is the result of a cross between white merang mushroom elders from Cilamaya Kulon and semi merang mushroom elders from Purwasari, each of which has advantages. The purpose of this study was to obtain the best G5 isolate of merang mushroom (Volvariella volvaceae) Faperta Unsika that can be used as a candidate for propagation seedlings. This research used a barn measuring 6 m x 4 m in Pasir Buah Hamlet, Pasir Mulya Village, Majalaya District, Karawang Regency which was carried out for 2 months from April 2024 to May 2024. The research method used was Single Factor Randomised Group Design (RAK) with 6 treatments namely A (G5 FP SEMI), B (G5 FP WHITE), C (G5 FP 005), D (G5 FP 003), E (G5 FP 021), F (G5 FP 034). All treatments were repeated 5 times. Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effect of chicken manure and the bio-fertilizer Bio-Extrim on the growth and production of water spinach plants. (Ipomoea reptans Poir). This research was conducted at the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Community Development Indonesia (UPMI) in Medan. Wakaf Street, Market 12, Marendal 2, Patumbak District, Deli Serdang Regency, at an elevation of 40 meters above sea level. (mdpl). This research will begin in June 2024 and continue until July 2024. This research uses a Factorial Randomized Block Design (FRBD) method consisting of 2 factors: 1) The application of chicken manure (A) which consists of 4 levels, namely: A0 = 0 tons/ha (Control), A1 = 20 tons/ha equivalent to 2 kg/plot, A2 = 40 tons/ha equivalent to 4 kg/plot, A3 = 80 tons/ha equivalent to 8 kg/plot. 2) The application of the biofertilizer Bio-Extrim (B), consisting of 4 levels, namely: B0 = 0 l/ha (Control), B1 = 4 l/ha equivalent to 0.4 l/plot, B2 = 8 l/ha equivalent to 0.8 l/plot, B3 = 16 l/ha equivalent to 1.6 l/plot. A total of 16 combinations were obtained, repeated 3 times, resulting in 48 experimental units that were randomly arranged. Based on the results of the experiment, it can be concluded that the combination of the bio-fertilizer Bio-Extrim and chicken manure has no significant effect on the root length of water spinach plants. The concentration of chicken manure does not significantly affect the root length of water spinach, and the concentration of the bio-fertilizer Bio-Extrim also does not significantly affect the root length of water spinach. Keywords: chicken manure, bio-fertilizer bio-extrim, water spinach plants

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of using chicken manure and urea fertilizer on the growth and production of pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.). This study used an experimental method with a randomized complete block design (RCBD) consisting of two main factors, namely the dose of chicken manure and urea fertilizer. The doses of chicken manure used were 2 kg/plot and 4 kg/plot, while the doses of urea fertilizer used were 15 g/plot and 20 g/plot. The parameters observed included plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, fresh weight per plant, and fresh weight per plot. The results showed that the combined use of chicken manure and urea fertilizer had a significant effect on pakcoy growth parameters, especially plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, and fresh weight per plant. Keywords: chicken manure, urea fertilizer, pakcoy
