Abstract

This study aims to: 1) Examine the influence of learning styles on students' problem-solving abilities in mathematics, 2) Investigate the effect of basic calculation skills on mathematical problem-solving abilities, and 3) Obtain information on the combined effect of both independent variables on the dependent variable. This research employs a quantitative approach with a correlational design (ex post facto). The population and sample consist of all fourth-grade students from SDN in the Gugus RA Kartini, Kabupaten Pati, totaling 99 students. Data collection techniques include tests, interviews, questionnaires, observations, and documentation. Data analysis is conducted through prerequisite analysis and final data analysis. Based on the research findings, it can be said that: 1) Learning styles have a big impact on students' ability to solve mathematical problems; 2) Basic calculation skills have a big impact on students' ability to solve mathematical problems; 3) Students' ability to solve mathematical problems is significantly impacted by both learning methods and fundamental calculating capabilities with a contribution of variables X1 and X2 to Y of 55.9%.The results align with existing theories that learning styles and basic calculation skills impact students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. Future research is expected to further develop this study by exploring other factors related to students' mathematical problem-solving skills.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a book aimed at elementary school students as education about the dangers related to bullying. This book contains educational content about bullying in the school environment. The research method used is development research. The data needed in research on the development of the book "Bujang Dare Anti-Bullying" for elementary school students in the city of Pontianak as education on the dangers of bullying consists of two types of data, namely qualitative data and quantitative data. The research data collection instruments used include; (1) checklist or instrument validation questionnaire sheet at the product validation stage, (2) questionnaire sheet at the product trial stage, and (3) questionnaire sheet at the usage trial stage. The material validation results obtained a score of 86.76 with a very valid category; The language validation results obtained a score of 85 with a very valid category; The design validation results obtained a score of 88.17 with a very valid category. Meanwhile, the results of student responses regarding the practicality of using the book product "Bujang Dare Anti-Bullying" for elementary school students in the Pontianak obtained a practicality score of 96.55 with very practical criteria. Meanwhile, the results of the teacher's response obtained a practicality score of 94.60 with very practical criteria. In conclusion, the Bujang Dare Anti-Bullying book not only educates students about the dangers of bullying, but also strengthens local values and morals, so it is suitable to be used as open material to create a safer and child-friendly school environment.

Abstract

Technology-based learning media is increasingly needed in basic education, including virtual reality media to improve student learning outcomes. This study aims to develop, evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of VR-LADUSI (Virtual reality-Exploring the World of Professions) media based on artsteps.com in Indonesian Class II. This research is based on the research and development (R&D) method with the ADDIE approach. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, documentation, questionnaires, and tests. The results of the feasibility test are very feasible from the validation of media experts and material experts with a score of 96% and 89%. As well as questionnaires of student and teacher responses with scores of 92% and 83% which support the feasibility of the media. VR-LADUSI media is effective in improving language literacy learning outcomes with a sig value of 0.000 < 0.05 and t count 4.320 > t table 2.074. As well as N-Gain average score of 0.33 with moderate category. This study can be concluded that VR-LADUSI media was successfully developed, very feasible to use, and effective for improving language learning outcomes. This research supports the importance of using technology-based learning media to attract students' interest so as to improve learning outcomes and add insight into the development of technology-based media in basic education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of the Project Based Learning model to strengthen the mutual cooperation character of elementary school students. The background of this research is based on the importance of instilling the value of mutual cooperation as part of elementary school character. Through a qualitative phenomenological approach by exploring the tearcher’s experience in applying the PjBL model, data were collected through in-depth. Observations made in the classroom during the learning process with the PjBL model, and documentation on teachers an grade 4 students who have applied the PjBL model in learning mathematics on the material of folding symmetry and rotary symmetry. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles an Huberman model, through the stages of data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the implementation of PjBL was effectively able to mutual cooperation character. Students are very actively involved in the project-based learning process, starting from the questions formulation, planning, implementation, to project evaluation collaboratively, caring, and sharing. During the process, students learn to work together, share taks, care for help friends, and respect the opinions of friends. The teacher acts as a facilitator who guides and encourages effective communication and collaboration among students. The findings of this study show that PjBL not only improves academic learning outcomes, but also shapes positive sosial attitudes, as well as caring, collaboration, and sharing. Thus, the Project Based Learning model is recommended as one of the learning strategies that can strengthen the mutual cooperation character of elementary school studends.

Abstract

This study aims to develop, test the feasibility, and effectiveness of DIGIBUK media based on imaginative narrative games in an effort to increase creativity in floor pattern material for grade V elementary school students. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D), which is adapted from the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The subjects of this research include material experts and learning media experts. The test subjects were teachers and grade V elementary school students, as many as 27 people. The data collection techniques include observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests. The instruments used to collect data include observation sheets, interview guidelines, needs questionnaires, validation questionnaires, response questionnaires, and test questions. The DIGIBUK product was developed based on the needs analysis results of students who showed interest in movement activities, stories, and imaginative approaches. This media consists of three main menus: floor pattern material, imaginative narrative games, and practical evaluation. The feasibility test results showed that DIGIBUK scored 94.28% from the material expert and 96.66% from the media expert, with very feasible criteria. The effectiveness test using the t-test showed a significance value of 0.000 <0.05 and an N-Gain value of 0.71, which is included in the high category. Thus, the development of DIGIBUK media is declared feasible and effective to increase student creativity in learning dance, especially in floor pattern material, through an imaginative narrative game approach.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of students’ critical reasoning character by applying the Problem Based Learning model. This study used a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design of one group pretest-posttest type. The population of this study were 4th grade students of SDN Kendalpecabean Sidoarjo, totalling 23 students. The data collection technique used saturated sampling. The research instrument is a critical reasoning ability test which includes four indicators, namely obtaining and processing information, analysing information, reflecting on thinking, and making decisions. The normality test results showed that the pre-test and post-test data had a normally distributed distribution, and the homogeneity test showed that the data was homogeneous. The paired sample t-test test showed a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores, with α = 0,05 obtained a significance value of < 0,001 which means H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. In addition, the N-Gain test results showed an increase in students’ critical reasoning skills in the medium category. The results of this study indicate that the Problem Based Learning model has a positive effect on improving the critical reasoning character of grade IV elementary school students in Mathematics.

Abstract

T This study aims to describe the strategies used by teachers in overcoming spelling errors in low-grade elementary school students. Spelling problems are one of the common difficulties for low-grade students, such as errors in the use of capital letters, punctuation marks, spacing between words, and the writing of absorbed elements. This study used a descriptive method with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observations, and documentation of low-grade teachers in several elementary schools. Data analysis was conducted through the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that spelling errors that often occur include: improper placement of capital letters, inconsistent spacing, incorrect use of punctuation marks, and word writing errors. To overcome these problems, teachers apply several strategies, such as providing additional study time, giving more attention to students who are having difficulty, correcting errors directly with feedback, and collaborating with parents to accompany children when studying at home. This study emphasizes the importance of teachers' active role and parents' support in improving students' basic literacy skills early on, so that errors in writing do not become sustainable habits at the next level of education.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the implementation of the PjBL model in grade IV of SDN Bakalan 02 and describe its relevance to P5 of the independent curriculum. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection through interview techniques, observation, and documentation. The data obtained were then analyzed with the stages of data collection, data reduction, presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that the fourth grade teacher of SDN Bakalan 02 had implemented learning with the PjBL model according to the stages/syntax in the science subject, where students were given a waste recycling project in the form of making a pencil case. This is in line with the theme of a sustainable lifestyle in the P5 dimension and forms six dimensions of the pancasila student profile.
