Abstract

This study examines how the stock market transmits global financial shocks to Indonesia’s current account. Using a multivariate VAR model with quarterly data (1990–2024), the analysis includes domestic variables current account, inflation, and interest rates—alongside global indicators (DJIA and WTI). Empirical results show that the lagged Indonesia Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) is statistically significant in the current account equation. Granger causality tests indicate unidirectional causality from IHSG to the current account without reverse feedback. Impulse response analysis reveals immediate but transitory adjustments following stock market shocks. Forecast Error Variance Decomposition results indicate that IHSG explains approximately 5.4% of the medium-term forecast error variance of the current account, exceeding the contribution of other domestic macroeconomic variables. These findings provide quantitative evidence that IHSG operates as a central transmission channel within Indonesia’s macro-financial system.

Abstract

Digitalization in maritime operations has increased cyber risks to shipboard systems and navigational safety. This study examines the effects of procedure availability, IT system availability, and monitoring on MCS Resiliency, with MCS Awareness as a mediator and fear of cyber attack as a moderator. A quantitative survey was conducted with 400 Indonesian shipboard officers holding valid Certificates of Endorsement, and data were analyzed using SEM-PLS. The results show that procedures, IT system availability, and monitoring significantly influence both MCS Awareness and MCS Resiliency. MCS Awareness also has a significant positive effect on MCS Resiliency and mediates the relationships between the three antecedent variables and resilience. However, fear of cyber attack does not significantly moderate the relationship between MCS Awareness and MCS Resiliency. These findings highlight that maritime cyber resilience is primarily driven by structured governance, resilient technology, effective monitoring, and awareness-based competence rather than fear-based motivation. The study provides empirical support for a human-centered and system-oriented approach to strengthening maritime cybersecurity.

Abstract

Digitised higher education increasingly relies on platform-based teaching, assessment, and reporting systems, yet this shift can intensify academic workload and create retention risks when lecturers face persistent digital frictions. This study develops and tests a mechanism-based digital adaptation chain to explain how Digital Learning Readiness (DLR) becomes workforce-sustainable in digitised higher education. Using survey data from 248 lecturers in private nursing higher education institutions and analysing the model with PLS-SEM, the study estimates a serial mediation process linking readiness to lecturer retention intention through academic resilience and competency development. The results support the proposed mechanism: DLR strengthens academic resilience, resilience enables competency development, and competency development emerges as the most proximal driver of retention intention. Notably, readiness alone is insufficient to sustain retention when it is not converted into adaptive capacity and enacted competence, consistent with a “readiness is not enough” interpretation. By shifting readiness research from adoption preparedness toward sustainability mechanisms, the study contributes a process explanation of workforce stability in digital education. The findings offer actionable guidance for institutions and policymakers to sequence interventions—engineering readiness, scaffolding resilience, and institutionalising competency development—to ensure that digital transformation remains people-sustainable.

Abstract

Lecturer productivity is a strategic priority for Islamic Higher Education Institutions (IHEIs), which combine academic excellence with Islamic values and community service while often operating under constraints such as limited digital infrastructure, heavy administrative workloads, and dual religious–academic responsibilities. This study examines how organizational commitment and work-life balance influence lecturer productivity in six IHEIs in Jambi Province, with information technology (IT) tested as a moderating factor. Using a quantitative survey of 237 lecturers and analyzing the data with SEM-PLS, the results show that organizational commitment significantly improves lecturer productivity, whereas work-life balance has a positive but statistically insignificant effect. IT demonstrates a strong direct impact on productivity, but it does not moderate the effects of organizational commitment or work-life balance, suggesting that technology operates primarily as a general performance enabler rather than a conditional amplifier of these individual factors. These findings extend evidence on productivity determinants in the under-studied IHEI context and offer practical implications for policy and management, particularly the need to strengthen digital infrastructure, enhance organizational support systems, and align HR practices with the institutional realities of Islamic higher education.

Abstract

The rapid adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in human resource management (HRM) has transformed organizational practices in performance management, recruitment, and workforce analytics. AI-driven HRM enables data-based decision-making, predictive performance evaluation, and automated talent management processes. However, the effectiveness of AI implementation depends on both technological capability and employee trust in artificial intelligence. This study aims to examine the effect of AI-Driven Human Resource Management on Employee Performance, with Employee Trust in Artificial Intelligence as a mediating variable. This study employs a quantitative explanatory survey design. Data were collected from employees in organizations implementing AI-based HR systems. The sample size was determined based on SEM requirements. Data analysis was conducted using SEM to test direct and indirect relationships among variables. The results indicate that AI-Driven HRM has a positive and significant effect on Employee Trust in Artificial Intelligence. Employee Trust in Artificial Intelligence significantly influences Employee Performance. AI-Driven HRM also has a direct positive effect on Employee Performance. Furthermore, Employee Trust in Artificial Intelligence partially mediates the relationship between AI-Driven HRM and Employee Performance. These findings suggest that the successful implementation of AI in HRM requires not only technological infrastructure but also the development of employee trust to enhance performance outcomes. This study contributes to the strategic human resource management literature by integrating AI capability and psychological trust mechanisms into a unified performance model. Practically, organizations are advised to ensure transparency, fairness, and ethical AI implementation to strengthen employee trust and maximize performance benefits.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of digital transformation, facilitated by the PLN Mobile application, on the operational efficiency of Customer Service Units (UP3) under PT PLN (Persero) Distribution Main Unit (UID) Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The Digital Transformation Index (DTI) is constructed using the ratio of PLN Mobile users to total customers and the ratio of digital complaints to total complaints. The analysis covers 78 Decision Making Units (DMUs) over the period 2020–2025. Technical efficiency is measured using input-oriented Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) under both Constant Returns to Scale (CRS) and Variable Returns to Scale (VRS) assumptions. A two-limit Tobit regression model is subsequently employed to examine the determinants of efficiency. The results indicate average efficiency scores of 0.755 (CRS) and 0.791 (VRS). The number of customers significantly reduces efficiency, while the Capacity Index shows a positive relationship at the 10% significance level. In contrast, the Digital Transformation Index (DTI) does not demonstrate statistical significance. The findings suggest that operational capacity and service load pressures play a more substantial role in explaining efficiency variations than the intensity of front-end digitalization.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of sales promotions on repurchase intention mediated by service quality, promotional attractiveness, and customer satisfaction. This study employs a descriptive quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4.0. The results indicate that customer satisfaction, promotional appeal, and sales promotion have significant effects on repurchase intention, while service quality does not show a significant effect on repurchase intention; 2) Promotional appeal has a significant effect on repurchase intention; 3) Service quality does not have a positive and significant effect on repurchase intention; 4) Sales promotions do not have a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction; 5) Sales promotions significantly influence promotional appeal; 6) Sales promotions significantly influence service quality; 7) Sales promotions significantly influence repurchase intention; 8) Sales promotions do not significantly influence repurchase intention through service quality; 9) Sales promotions positively and significantly influence repurchase intention through promotional appeal; 10) Sales promotions significantly influence repurchase intention through customer satisfaction

Abstract

This study investigates the factors determining concession performance in port concession schemes by examining the mediating role of port performance. Using an explanatory research design, data were collected through structured questionnaires administered to 15 private port terminals. The proposed model incorporates Investment, Tariff, Throughput, and Human Resources as exogenous variables, Port Performance as a mediating variable, and Concession Performance as the endogenous variable. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was employed to analyze the relationships among constructs. The results indicate that tariffs have no significant direct or indirect effect on concession performance. Investment and human resources exhibit significant positive effects on both port performance and concession performance, while port performance itself strongly influences concession performance. Throughput shows a significant negative direct effect on concession performance but does not significantly affect port performance. These findings suggest that concession success is primarily driven by effective investment utilization and workforce capability rather than pricing mechanisms or cargo volume alone. This study contributes to port governance and concession literature by emphasizing the importance of performance-based operational transformation in achieving sustainable concession outcomes.

Abstract

Electricity companies in Indonesia face increasing pressure to manage strategic change amid regulatory complexity, capital intensity, and growing demands for innovation. This study aims to examine how strategic change management can be enabled through open innovation in Indonesia’s electricity industry.  This study adopts an exploratory mixed-method approach combining qualitative cognitive modeling and quantitative regression analysis. The qualitative component captures dynamic interactions among key organizational factors, while the regression analysis provides empirical validation of the relationship between financing and leadership variables. The findings indicate a strong and statistically significant relationship between financing and resource support and leadership and management style, suggesting that leadership effectiveness during strategic change is highly dependent on resource availability. Cognitive modeling results further demonstrate that financial support acts as a key leverage factor that stabilizes change dynamics and enables the integration of open innovation practices. This study concludes that open innovation is most effective when embedded within a structured strategic change management framework supported by leadership commitment and adequate resources. The findings provide both theoretical contributions and practical implications for managers in regulated electricity industries, emphasizing the importance of financial allocation and leadership alignment in successfully implementing open innovation as a strategic change mechanism.

Abstract

Teacher performance in Bogor Regency is influenced by burnout, mental health, and organizational culture. However, limited research has examined their combined effects within this regional educational context. This study aims to analyze the individual and simultaneous influence of burnout, mental health, and organizational culture on teachers’ performance. A quantitative cross-sectional survey design was employed using purposive sampling of 298 teachers, with data analyzed through multiple linear regression using SPSS. The results show that burnout has a negative and significant effect on performance, while mental health and organizational culture have positive and significant effects, with the latter two variables showing the strongest contributions. This study contributes to the literature by integrating psychological and organizational variables in a regency-level educational context and provides practical implications for improving teacher well-being and performance through targeted interventions. Objectives were to determine the individual and combined influence of burnout, mental health, and organizational culture on teachers’ performance and to provide evidence for policy and intervention. Using a quantitative cross-sectional survey design, purposive sampling, validated questionnaires, and SPSS (multiple linear regression, R2, t and F tests), the study tested associations among the three predictors and teacher performance. The organizational culture, mental health, and burnout have significant effects on teacher performance, with organizational culture and mental health showing the largest relative contributions. This study serves as the basis for evidence-based policies and interventions to improve teacher well-being and learning effectiveness through burnout prevention strategies and organizational culture improvements.
