Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management of school principal's guidance based on collaborative methods in optimizing the effectiveness of teacher learning groups at SDN Palasari, Cipanas District. The main focus of the research includes planning, organizing, implementing, supervising, and evaluating the guidance of school principals in supporting the development of teacher professionalism and improving the quality of learning. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method to understand in depth the process of implementing the principal's guidance in the context of elementary schools. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation studies. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which included data reduction, data presentation, and inductive conclusions. The results of the study show that guidance planning is carried out through teacher needs analysis, competency mapping, and the preparation of mentoring and coaching-based programs. Organizing involves the formation of study groups by appointing competent coordinators and facilitators, as well as optimal use of resources. The implementation of guidance is carried out in a participatory manner through lesson study methods, peer teaching, and reflective discussions based on digital technology to strengthen teachers' professional interactions. Supervision is implemented through classroom observation, analysis of learning documents, and joint reflection to ensure program effectiveness and support continuous improvement. The evaluation was carried out formatively and summatively using various instruments, such as satisfaction surveys, reflective interviews, and classroom supervision, to measure the impact of the program on improving teacher competence and student learning outcomes. The findings of this study show that a systematic and sustainable collaborative approach under the guidance of principals contributes significantly to increasing the effectiveness of teacher-learning groups. This case study confirms that collaborative-based guidance of school principals can build a culture of teacher professionalism, encourage learning innovation, and contribute to improving the quality of education in schools.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) constitute a crucial pillar of the Indonesian economy. While the city of Pontianak possesses substantial potential for MSME development, several challenges persist, notably within the institutional framework. This study aims to evaluate the performance of MSMEs in Pontianak, specifically from an institutional perspective. Employing a big data approach, this research analyzes MSME performance across various dimensions, including productivity, efficiency, innovation, and competitiveness. Prior research indicates that MSME performance in Pontianak is not yet optimal, which is attributed to factors such as the low quality of human resources, limited access to financing, and regulatory impediments. This study adopts a quantitative methodology utilizing a survey-based approach. The population for this study comprises 1,840 MSME operators in Pontianak. A sample of 185 respondents was selected for data collection. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) via SmartPLS software. Path analysis was primarily employed to examine the comparative strength of direct and indirect relationships between variables. The results demonstrate that external factors significantly impact innovation (p < 0.001). Internal factors also exhibit a significant effect on innovation (p < 0.05). External factors have a significant negative impact on performance (p < 0.001), whereas the effect of internal factors on performance is not statistically significant (p > 0.05). Furthermore, innovation mediates the effect of external factors on performance (p < 0.001), and also mediates the effect of internal factors on performance (p < 0.05). Innovation itself also significantly impacts performance (p < 0.001).

Abstract

Teaching English requires effective strategies for students to improve their language skills. English Native Speakers play an important role in the learning process as they provide a more authentic language experience. However, English Native Speakers also face various challenges, especially when teaching in one of the junior high schools in Manokwari, West Papua. This study aims to identify the challenges English Native Speakers face in teaching English in that school. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews and classroom observations. The results showed that English Native Speakers experience challenges in dealing with differences in students' ability levels, cultural gaps, and adaptation to the local education system. In addition, large class sizes and limited opportunities for students to practice English outside the classroom are also barriers to learning. By understanding these challenges, it is hoped that teaching strategies can be improved and recommendations made for more effective English language teaching in Manokwari.
