Abstract

Employee performance evaluation is a crucial process for organizations in achieving strategic goals. PT Kreatif Dinamika Integrasi currently conducts employee assessments manually using Microsoft Excel, leading to inefficiencies, potential errors, and subjectivity. This study aims to develop a decision support system (DSS) using the C4.5 and Random Forest algorithms to improve accuracy and fairness in performance evaluation. The research adopts a quantitative approach, encompassing problem analysis, literature review, data collection, machine learning model implementation, and result evaluation. The key performance indicators (KPIs) used include discipline, punctuality, skills, appearance, and education, which serve as attributes in the classification process. The C4.5 algorithm constructs a decision tree to identify patterns, while Random Forest, as an ensemble method, enhances classification accuracy and reduces the risk of overfitting. The results indicate that using Random Forest improves evaluation accuracy from 85% to 87.5%. The implementation of this DSS provides a more reliable framework for salary and bonus prediction, minimizes bias, and enhances decision-making quality. Overall, integrating machine learning models into employee performance evaluation significantly improves efficiency and transparency.

Abstract

AI-generated feedback is expected to be exploited for enhancing learners’ speaking skills and maintaining learners’ emotional state. The magical power might overshadow teachers’ feedback, as well. For further investigating learners’ perception of AI-generated feedback compared to teachers’ feedback in fostering learners’ speaking skills and maintaining emotional state, this study employed a mix-method. Data were collected through a 15-item questionnaire and semi-structured interviews with Grade XI students at Budi Utomo Senior High School. The questionnaire examined the intensity of feedback reception, learners’ preferences for feedback providers in improving speaking skills (lexis, stressed word patterns, intonation, fluency, grammar, communicative functions, and physical paralinguistic features), and the emotional impact of feedback (self-esteem, motivation, and anxiety). Interviews, conducted via WhatsApp voice notes for flexibility, provided deeper insights into learners' experiences with both feedback types. Thematic analysis revealed that learners perceived AI-generated feedback as beneficial for improving specific aspects of speaking, particularly pronunciation and fluency, while teacher feedback was valued for its personalized and interactive nature. Emotional responses varied, with AI-generated feedback fostering self-directed learning but sometimes lacking the motivational support provided by teachers. The study highlights the complementary roles of AI and teacher feedback in fostering speaking skill development and emotional engagement. These findings contribute to the ongoing discourse on AI in language education and provide implications for optimizing feedback strategies in EFL classrooms.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the various security challenges faced in modern computer networks and operating systems. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data obtained from various sources, including journal articles related to computer networks and operating systems. Journal articles on network management, protocols, security, and performance, as well as research reports and case studies that address security challenges in modern computer networks and operating systems. The results show that the main challenge in maintaining the security of networks and operating systems is increasingly sophisticated and complex cyber attacks, which often go beyond the capabilities of existing security technologies. In addition, the low level of security awareness among users is a significant factor that aggravates the situation, as many users do not follow basic security practices. The study also found that effective implementation of security policies is still an unresolved issue in many organizations. Many existing policies are not implemented consistently or are not updated according to the development of new threats. By identifying these challenges, the study makes an important contribution to the development of better strategies and policies to improve the security of networks and operating systems in the future.

Abstract

Effective decision making can be done by defining the problem, reevaluating the situation, gathering information, thinking about alternatives, setting choices, and taking action. Leaders may lower risk, create and execute business plans, and react to external events and changes in the company environment by making wise decisions. As a result, research is required to gather data on factors pertaining to decision-making effectiveness. This study seeks to improve digital leadership, creativity, knowledge management, and organizational support in order to identify strategies, methodologies, and best practices for decision-making efficacy. Key indicators are analyzed in this study using the SITOREM method and a survey approach with path analysis. To determine the extent to which the variables of digital leadership, creativity, knowledge management, and organizational support impact the efficacy of decision-making, smart PLS analysis is utilized. An ideal option for decision-making effectiveness is found through SITOREM analysis. The Ministry of Education, the Education Office, and school principals can utilize the guidelines for decision-making effectiveness in this study as a guide for making strategic decisions.

Abstract

Global climate change, marked by rising temperatures and extreme weather phenomena, has significantly impacted Huntu Barat Village's agricultural sector, Bulango Selatan Subdistrict, Bone Bolango Regency. Most of residents of West Huntu rely on agriculture as their main source of livelihood, playing a crucial role in the local economy. Therefore, it is important to understand how farmers in this village are adapting to climate change. This study aims to (1) comprehensively identify the adaptation practices implemented by farmers in Huntu Barat Village, and (2) analyze the impacts of these practices in addressing climate change. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach through observation and in-depth interviews with farmers, agricultural extension officers, and village officials. The study's findings indicate that the adaptation strategies applied include the selection of crop varieties that are resilient to extreme conditions, the use of organic inputs such as fermented cow urine and rice straw mulch to maintain soil fertility, and the utilization of river irrigation accompanied by simple technologies to ensure even water distribution. The integration of traditional farming techniques with local innovations not only enhances productivity and food security but also supports environmental sustainability. The synergy among these various practices demonstrates that locally implemented adaptation solutions can effectively mitigate the negative impacts of climate change and serve as a relevant model for developing agricultural strategies in other regions.
