Abstract

One of the government's policies in encouraging economic growth from the fishery sectoris to increase fish consumption. Arongan Village, Kuala Pesisir Subdistrict, Nagan RayaRegency is one of the villages that has quite large fishery potential. The high potential offisheries is not always accompanied by a high level of fishery products consumption aswell. In this regard, accurate information is needed regarding the level of fishconsumption. In this study, the level of fish consumption was divided into threecategories, namely low, medium and high consumption levels. This study aimed todetermine the level of fish consumption and analyze the pattern of relationships of factorsthat influence the level of marine fish consumption in the Arongan Village, Kuala PesisirDistrict, Nagan Raya Regency. The analytical method used was descriptive quantitativemethod and multinomial logistic regression. The data used in this study was primary dataobtained through observation and questionnaires by taking samples based on randomsampling. There were 80 respondents. The results showed that there were 36.25% highfish consumption levels, 51.25% moderate fish consumption levels, and 12.5% low fishconsumption levels. It was also found that the variables of education, occupation, andincome simultaneously did not have a significant effect on the level of fish consumption, while partially, the variables of education, occupation and income did not have asignificant effect on the level of marine fish consumption.

Abstract

Various problems are found in aquaculture activities while decreasing production due to fish disease attacks and slow growth. Various alternatives can be applied by cultivators, one of which is the use of prebiotics. Coconut pulp contains galactomannan which serves as prebiotic and belongs to agricultural waste usually used as animal feed. This study aimed to determine the level of growth and survival rate of saline tilapia (O. Niloticus) after given coconut pulp extract. A completely randomized design (CRD) was emplyed. This study consisted of three treatments with three replications. Treatment A (maintenance of saline tilapia without adding coconut pulp extract), Treatment B (rearing saline tilapia with the addition of 1% / kg of feed with coconut pulp extract), and Treatment C (rearing saline tilapia with the addition of 2% / kg of feed with coconut pulp extract). The parameters observed were growth, survival and water quality. The results of growth and survival parameters on this study were not significantly different among each treatment. Daily growth rate (DGR) was obtained in treatment C, namely LPH 1.28%. The highest survival rate was obtained in treatment B, namely 80%.Keywords: nile tilapia, coconut pulp ekstract, galactomannan

Abstract

AbstractSnakehead fish (Channa sp.) is one of Indonesia's native freshwater commodities that has been successfully domesticated by fish farmers, yet the domesticated snakehead fish culture still has problems, namely the low survival and growth of local snakehead fish. Overcoming this problem requires a technology that can optimize the survival and growth of the domesticated snakehead fish (Channa sp.). One technology that can be applied is the use of probiotics. This reserach aimed to examine different probiotics through feed to optimize the survival and growth of domesticated snakehead fish (Channa sp.). This research was conducted with an experimental method. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were control treatment (P0), treatment with probiotic composition of Lactobacillus sp., Bacillus spp. and Nitrosomonas sp. (P1), treatment with probiotic composition of Lactobacillus casei and Saccharomyces cerevisiae (P2), and treatment with probiotic composition of Lactobacillus sp., Acetobacter, Rhodobacter sp., yeast (P3). The results showed that different probiotic feeding had a significant effect (P<0.05) on the survival parameters and different probiotic feeding compositions had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the growth parameters. The composition of Lactobacillus casei and Saccharomyces cerevisiae probiotics is the best probiotic composition to increase survival and growth of domesticated snakehead fish. Keywords: Domestication, Growth, Survival Rate, Probiotic

Abstract

As marine products known as the products that easily experience quality degradation, they need good handling and processing according to SSOP requirements to slow down the enzymes and pathogenic bacteria activity. This research was conducted at PT. Perikanan Indonesia, Simeulue Regency. On 27 August to 27 November 2021. This study aims to evaluate the application of SSOP frozen parrot fish production at PT. Indonesian Fisheries, Simeulue District. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Data was collected using observation, interviews, active participation and documentation. Some of the SSOP requirements on the frosting process of freezing parrotfish at PT. Perikanan Indonesia had been fulfilled, but there were several obstacles in the application of personal hygiene and sanitation of processing rooms. This can cause product contamination. Keywords: Implementation of SSOP, Frosting, Parrotfish

Abstract

Antioxidants play role in increasing the resistance of the human body, including from virus attacks and weather changes. Antioxidants are found in fruit and are influenced by secondary metabolites formed in the fruit. Along with the level of fruit ripeness, will affect the composition of secondary metabolites, thus affecting antioxidant activity. This study aims to determine the yield and ripeness level of Nypa fruit with high antioxidant activity. The yield of old nipa fruit pulp is higher than young nipa fruit pulp, 15.26% and 9.82% respectively, The antioxidant activity of old Nypa palm juice is in the high category, with an IC50 value of 59.2 ppm and the antioxidant activity of young Nypa palm fruit is in the medium category with an IC50 value of 48 ppm. Antioxidants in old Nypa fruit are better than in young Nypa fruit

Abstract

Abstract The welfare system plays a significant role in communal life. The source of welfare is seen from an economic perspective. The size of a person's opinion describes what his job is. In terms of the economy, fishermen have long been perceived as being in poverty. At PPI Sawang Ba'u, fishermen use purse seines, fishing lines, and nets as their primary means of capture. In order to meet household demands and achieve success, income and expenses must be matched. The study's objective was to estimate the exchange rate for fishing gear among the fishermen in PPI Sawang Ba'u in the South Aceh District. A quantitative descriptive methodology was used in this study. The sample consisted of 83 crew members (ABK), including 70 responses for purse seines, 7 for fishing rods, and 6 for net fishing gear. The highest average monthly income from purse seine fishing is RP 4,021,000, and the lowest average monthly income from net fishing is RP 1,798,333. The greatest average monthly expenditure from net fishing is RP 2,845,367, and the lowest average monthly expenditure from purse seine fishing is RP 2,168,599, respectively. When the Fishermen's Exchange Rate (NTN) at PPI Sawang Ba'u is greater than 1, it indicates that the fishermen are prosperous. Conversely, when the NTN is lower than 1, it indicates that the fishermen are not prosperous, and when it is lower yet when employing fishing nets, it indicates that the fisherman are not successful. Keywords: expenditure, fishermen exchange rate, fishing gear, income, welfare
