Abstract

Snakehead (Channa sp.) was one of the superior freshwater fish species native to Indonesia that has been successfully domesticated. The increasing demand for snakehead fish on the market has resulted in the addition of cultivated land and water use. Aquaponics technology was a combination of fish farming and plants that grow without soil media. The aim of this research was to determine the best composition of probiotics that can be used in aquaponic technology to optimize growth rate and feed conversion of snakehead fish (Channa sp.). This research used an experimental method. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design with four probiotic combination treatments and each treatment was repeated three times. The results showed that awarding of different probiotic compositions in the aquaponic system resulted in a spesific growth rate that was not significantly (P>0.05) different between treatments. The highest value of spesific growth rate were in the treatment of probiotic composition of Lactobacillus casei and Saccharomyces cerevisiae with a value of 4.11%/ day. Awarding of different probiotic compositions in the aquaponic system results in significantly (P<0.05) different feed conversion ratio values. The best feed conversion ratio values were in the treatment of probiotic composition of Lactobacillus casei and Saccharomyces cerevisiae with a value of 1.78. The conclusion of this study was the composition of probiotic Lactobacillus casei and Saccharomyces cerevisiae was the best probiotic composition to increase the spesific growth rate and feed conversion ratio of snakehead fish.

Abstract

Development of human resources is very important in promoting economic growth, because humans are not only objects in development but also play a role as a subject. Stunting is a major problem that inhibits the quality of human resources, to reduce the amount of human development that lives by stunting is to increase the consumption of protein contained in fish. This study aimed to determine the pattern of fish consumption in Central Aceh and the variables that affect fish consumption. The analytical model used is the granger causality analysis, through the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) analysis model. The results of this study indicate that the pattern of fish consumption in Central Aceh was not only influenced by income, but also influenced by the amount of chicken meat and egg consumption Increased income does not have a positive effect on increasing fish consumption but affects the amount of chicken meat and egg consumption. To increase the amount of fish consumption in Central Aceh, efforts to increase the amount of fish supply through local fish farming activities and the socialization of fish eating.

Abstract

Cork fish is one of the commodities from the freshwater fisheries sector which is commonly found in rivers, swamps and swamps that have high economic value and high market demand. The availability of cork fish is still limited to the results of their catch in the wild. And efforts to develop cork fish culture are still small due to slow growth in cork fish and the low response of cork fish to commercially-made feed compared to natural feed. This research is intended to improve the growth of cork fish fed with cinnamon leaf flour (Cinnamomumm burnamani) at different doses. The design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments with 3 replications. The treatments performed were control (P1), addition of 0.5% cinnamon leaf flour (P2), addition of cinnamon leaf flour 1% (P3), and addition of cinnamon leaf flour 1.5% (P4). The research parameters observed were absolute weight, absolute length, daily growth rate, EP, fat in SR fish body, and cork fish water quality. The results showed that the addition of cinnamon leaf flour at a dose of 1% influenced the growth of absolute weight, absolute length, LPH, and EP. The addition of anis wood leaf flour with a dose of 1.5% can reduce fat content in the body of cork fish. Keywords: Canna striata, Cinnamomum burnamni

Abstract

Potential geothermal water is located on the coast of West Halmahera Regency. The geothermal potential is utilized by the community as a medium of traditional medicine and local tourism. Utilization of hot water sources as a fish processing media has not been done. The purpose of this study was to determine fish processing using a modified oven in geothermal water flow. The research material is anchovy (Stolephorus indicus) measuring 10 cm. Fish drying equipment is made closed (airtight) as a whole. The process of fish maturation is done by laying the fish on the base located in the oven. The results showed that the fish cooked at room temperature 2 hours at room temperature 21 oC with geothermal water flow temperature 49oC-51 oC.

Abstract

Bacteria has an important role in decomposition and productivity activities in mangrove ecosystem. The study about identification of decomposing mangrove litter bacteria in Dumai has never been done. The aim of this study is to determine Total Plate Count and identify the dominant bacterial species from decomposing Rizhopora sp, Xylocarpus sp, dan Avicennia sp litter in Dumai. The method used in this research was survey method, bacterial isolation was done by pour plate method which is used in total calculation of bacteria was Total Plate Count (TPC), and identify the dominant bacterial in mangrove litter. The total bacteria which gained on Avicennia sp leaf litter are 0,64 x 105 Cfu/ml. On the other hand, the total bacteria from Rhizopora sp leaf litter has a lower number of colonies that is 0,55 x 105± 0,01 Cfu/ml. The bacterial identification test was carried out by gram staining method and morphological observation by microscopy. The dominant bacterial species in three mangrove species (Rizhopora sp, Xylocarpus sp, dan Avicennia sp) are Micrococcus sp dan Aerococcus sp. Keywords : Total Plate Count, Micrococcus sp, Aerococcus sp, Organic Matterial

Abstract

The handling of catches on ships in connection with capture fisheries in particular has the aim of preventing or reducing spoilage of fish and the possibility of a decline in the quality of the catch resulting in loss of selling prices. The main causes of the decline in the quality of the catch on the ship there are 5 factors namely how to handle, human resources, facilities, equipment, fishing units. Handling of catches on the ship with the puse seine Tangkap tool in PPN Sibolga based on calculations regarding the imbalance and suitability of the 5 factors handling on the purse seine ship namely handling methods, human resources, facilities, equipment and capture units found that the average value of conformity is by 78%, with the quality management policy in KEPMEN-52A/2013 which is an average of 78%, handling factors that can be fairly good.

Abstract

Snakehead fish (Channa sp.) was one of Indonesia's native freshwater commodities that has been successfully domesticated by fish cultivators in Indonesia. However, domesticated snakehead fish cultivation still has obstacles, namely the high value of the feed conversion ratio and the low growth rate of local snakehead fish. Overcoming this problem requires a technology that can optimize the feed conversion ratio and growth rate of domestic snakehead fish. One technology that can be applied is the used of probiotic technology. This study aims to test the provision of different probiotics through feed to optimize the feed conversion ratio and growth rate of domestic snakehead fish. This research was conducted using experimental methods. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and each treatment was repeated 3 times. The treatments were treatment without probiotics / control (P0), treatment of the probiotic composition of Lactobacillus sp., Bacillus spp. and Nitrosomonas sp. (P1), treatment of the probiotic composition of Lactobacillus casei and Saccharomyces cerevisiae (P2), treatment of the probiotic composition of Lactobacillus sp., Acetobacter, Rhodobacter sp., Yeast (P3). The results showed that giving different probiotic compositions through feed on the parameters of feed conversion ratio and growth rate did not give results that were not significantly different (P> 0.05) when compared to control, but the highest treatment value was found in the probiotic composition of Lactobacillus casei and Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
