Abstract

Land productivity is significantly influenced by the patterns of land use and management practices employed. The excessive application of chemical composts and pesticides has been shown to degrade soil fertility and pose long-term threats to environmental sustainability. To mitigate these adverse effects, it is essential to introduce the principles of conservation-oriented agriculture from an early age. This community engagement activity was designed to provide elementary students at SD Negeri 13 Taliwang, West Sumbawa Regency, with direct experience in the production and application of organic compost. Moreover, the program aligns with the objectives of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5), particularly through its focus on practical planting activities using potted plants. The implementation methods included an introductory session on the concept and environmental benefits of bokashi, which included a practical session involving direct student participation in the compost making process. Besides introducing eco-friendly technologies, the activity fostered environmental awareness among students. Similar programs should be continued to support early understanding of sustainable agriculture.

Abstract

Jayawijaya Regency holds significant potential for developing agro-tourism villages based on local wisdom and environmental conservation. However, underdeveloped community institutions remain a key barrier. This community service project aimed to strengthen village institutions through agro-tourism management training, participatory planning facilitation, and digital promotion. The participatory method was implemented over three days at Yudha Hall and organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Jayawijaya Regency, involving approximately 45 local tourism actors. Results indicated a significant improvement in participants' understanding of agro-tourism concepts, institutional strengthening (BUMDes and Pokdarwis), and the emergence of participatory village tourism action plans. Before the training, only 27% of participants understood basic agro-tourism concepts; this increased to 81% post-training. These achievements demonstrate that thematic training integrated with field practice is effective in building institutional capacity and advancing sustainable agro-tourism development in Jayawijaya.

Abstract

MSMEs in Wara Village, Wamena, produce a superior product, high-quality local rice, which has not been fully maximized in terms of marketing. The main obstacles faced by the local community are a lack of understanding of modern marketing strategies and the suboptimal use of digital technology. Marketing activities still rely on conventional methods without proper packaging, branding, or promotion through digital media. Furthermore, limited internet access and low levels of digital literacy exacerbate the situation. As a result, local rice products struggle to compete and lack adequate bargaining power in the market. Therefore, capacity building in the marketing sector is necessary to support the optimal development of product potential. The solution is to organize a socialization of product marketing strategies tailored to the real needs of local businesses. Using concrete case studies and a participatory approach, this socialization increases knowledge of marketing mix concepts and brand creation. This activity significantly contributes to strengthening the marketing capacity of MSMEs and building the identity of local rice products. Going forward, through ongoing mentoring, it is hoped that the Wara Village community will be able to independently expand the market and increase the economic value of their products.

Abstract

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are a growing public health concern globally and in Indonesia, strongly associated with poor nutrition and unhealthy lifestyles. Schools are effective platforms for health promotion through sustainable nutrition education. The program was conducted at SMA Swasta Utama, Medan (March–July 2025) with 10 teachers and 36 students, involving preparatory coordination, development of educational tools, and delivery of nutrition education through lectures and multimedia discussions. Knowledge improvement was assessed using pretest–posttest with the Wilcoxon paired test, while teachers also received training in anthropometry, blood pressure monitoring, biochemical testing, and the Productivity Risk Self-Assessment Tool (PRISAT), supported by the provision of self-monitoring equipment. Results showed significant knowledge improvements in both groups, with clear shifts from poor to moderate and good categories (p<0.05). Teachers achieved greater gains than students, reflecting their role as facilitators and role models in health education. PRISAT screening revealed most teachers were low risk, though some were categorized as high risk, underscoring the importance of early detection. This program demonstrates the effectiveness of integrating nutrition education and health monitoring to strengthen school-based NCD prevention.

Abstract

The development of information technology in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 has transformed learning systems into more digital ones, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic hit, leading to the implementation of distance learning. However, the lack of interaction and engaging visualizations has resulted in a decline in students understanding and interest in learning. As one of the companies operating in the education sector, Geniora offers a solution through its product SayaBisa, which is now being developed for junior high school students. This study aims to design effective animated assets as visual learning media to support educational content. The method used is practice-based research, supplemented with literature reviews and visual studies, culminating in the creation of the final work. The results indicate that animated assets not only serve an aesthetic purpose but also function as communicative and educational message-delivery tools. Thus, the designed educational animations provide an enjoyable solution in the era of digital learning.

Abstract

In today's rapidly growing creative industry, a strong visual identity is essential for a studio to survive and compete professionally. This study aims to redesign the visual identity of Konkou Studio, a creative studio that was once active in the fields of design and branding but faced various internal issues such as conflicting visions and the absence of a strong organizational structure. The design process was conducted qualitatively using an exploratory approach through brainstorming and visual testing. The tools used include Procreate for initial illustrations and Adobe Illustrator for vector based designs. The design outcomes include a new logo, color system, and typography, as well as their application across various promotional media such as business cards, social media, websites, and merchandise. The evaluation indicates that the new design reflects the studio's professional and creative character and can be consistently applied across various platforms. This research underscores the importance of a well-defined visual identity and effective internal team management in supporting the sustainability of a creative studio. Abstract

Pasar Dugderan is one of Semarang's annual cultural events, not only serving as a commemoration of the month of Ramadan but also as a symbol of Indonesian culture that upholds historical, social, and spiritual values. Indonesia is a country rich in culture and language, making cultural events such as Dugderan play an important role in strengthening national identity and preserving culture and traditions amidst the current of modernization. The author designed a graphic design that highlights typical Dugderan elements such as Warak Ngendhog, traditional ornaments, and local patterns that represent the nuances of Semarang's local culture and Javanese culture more broadly. This design includes visual exploration, color selection, typography, and the application of design to promotional and branding media such as posters, banners, and social media. The goal of this design is to create a visual identity that is not only communicative and aesthetic, but also able to depict the spirit of Indonesia's cultural diversity in an attractive package, especially for the younger generation. The final result of this design is expected to make a positive contribution to efforts regarding the preservation of local culture and to increase awareness of the importance of national cultural heritage in the era of globalization.

Abstract

Indonesia, as a country with a rich historical and cultural heritage, has many essential figures whose roles have not been fully documented visually. One of them is Ratu Kalinyamat, a 16th-century female leader renowned for her bravery, wisdom, and determination, as well as her efforts to uphold the sovereignty of Nusantara. The lack of visual representation of this figure in popular media serves as the main background for the design of the art book about Ratu Kalinyamat's story. The creative process involves observation, literature studies, and interviews, resulting in a visual concept that combines narrative illustrations, colour palettes, typography, and layouts that support the storyline. This art book presents eight main scenes from the queen's life journey, ranging from her background and leadership period to her struggles against colonialism, aiming to serve as both a historical educational medium and a means of appreciating visual art.
