Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of deep learning strategies and their role in developing critical thinking skills in sixth-grade Islamic Religious Education and Character Education (PAI-BP) in sixth-grade students at SD Negeri 081 Panyabungan. The background of this research is based on the continued dominance of lecture- and memorization-oriented PAI-BP learning, which has not optimally developed higher-order thinking skills, particularly critical thinking. However, the Independent Curriculum demands meaningful, student-centered learning and encourages the development of higher-order thinking skills. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive qualitative approach. Subjects included PAI-BP teachers and sixth-grade students. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted interactively through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was maintained through triangulation of sources and techniques. The results indicate that the deep learning strategy was implemented through the use of contextual problems, focus group discussions, open-ended questions, and reflection activities at the end of the lesson. The implementation of this strategy was able to create a more active, dialogic, and meaningful learning environment. Furthermore, students' critical thinking skills are beginning to develop, demonstrated by their ability to ask questions, analyze religious issues, justify opinions, and draw conclusions based on Islamic values. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Al-Qur'an memorization program in improving the quality of memorization of students at the Darul Ikhlas Dalan Lidang Islamic Boarding School. The study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation analysis involving the tahfidz supervising teacher, students in the tahfidz room, and the boarding school management. The results showed that the implementation of tahfidz was carried out in a structured manner through a combination of tasmi', ziyadah, halaqah, talaqqi, and muroja'ah methods. The tahfidz program is divided into two categories, namely special tahfidz (kamar tahfiz) with a target of 3 juz per semester and tahfidz as a subject (Qur'an Hafadz) which is mandatory for all students. The evaluation system is carried out through tasmi' before moving juz and monthly exams. Despite challenges such as differences in student abilities, consistency of memorization, and target pressure, the boarding school implemented solutions in the form of mixed halaqah coaching, intensive guidance, routine evaluation, and a controlled discipline system. This structured and consistent implementation contributes to improving the quality of students' memorization, both in terms of fluency, accuracy of tajwid, and long-term memorization resilience.

Abstract

This study aims to describe teacher strategies for increasing student learning motivation through the implementation of icebreakers in learning at SDN 081 Panyabungan. This study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive research style. The research subjects included classroom teachers and elementary school students. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis involved data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was tested through triangulation of techniques and sources. The results showed that teachers implemented icebreakers in a planned manner at the beginning, middle, and end of lessons, with short durations and a variety of activities tailored to student characteristics. The types of icebreakers used included enthusiastic applause, short movement-based games, educational songs, and light quizzes. Teacher strategies in implementing icebreakers were proven to create a pleasant learning atmosphere, increase focus, and encourage active student participation. The impact of icebreaker implementation was seen in increased student motivation and active participation in the learning process. Thus, icebreakers can be recommended as an effective learning strategy for increasing student motivation in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of school religious culture in shaping student morals at Al-Munawwar Integrated Islamic Elementary School in Mandailing Natal. This study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive approach. The research subjects included the principal, homeroom teachers, and students. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, using source and technique triangulation to ensure data validity. The results indicate that the implementation of school religious culture is carried out through several activities, namely gate duty, routine religious activities, the habit of congregational prayer, and extracurricular activities. Gate duty plays a role in fostering politeness, respect for teachers, and discipline in students. Routine religious activities accustom students to practicing religious values in their daily lives. The habit of congregational prayer fosters discipline, responsibility, and etiquette in worship. Meanwhile, extracurricular activities serve as a means of strengthening moral values through direct practice, such as cooperation, responsibility, and compliance with rules. The conclusion of this study indicates that the planned and consistent implementation of a school religious culture can shape students' morals gradually and sustainably. School religious culture serves as an effective strategy in character education to shape students with noble morals and religious attitudes.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the futsal extracurricular coaching strategy in improving students' non-academic achievements at SDN 081 Panyabungan. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with futsal extracurricular coaches and students as research subjects. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation, while data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, with data validity guaranteed through triangulation of sources and techniques. The results of the study indicate that the futsal extracurricular coaching strategy is implemented through short-term and long-term training planning, structured and sustainable coaching implementation, and systematic evaluation. This coaching strategy is able to improve students' non-academic achievements, both in the form of championship achievements and character development such as discipline, self-confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Thus, futsal extracurricular coaching plays a strategic role in developing students' non-academic potential optimally and sustainably.

Abstract

Hajj jurisprudence learning in madrasas is often theoretical, so students' understanding of the practice of the Hajj is not optimal. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Hajj ritual practice in improving the understanding of the Hajj ritual among students of grade XII MAS Darul Ikhlash, Dalin Lidang Village, Panyabungan District. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The research subjects included teacher Cindy, the subject of fiqh, and students of grade XII. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation of Hajj ritual practice activities, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the Hajj ritual practice was carried out through direct simulation of the Hajj ritual series, including ihram, wukuf in Arafah, overnight in Muzdalifah, throwing the devil, tawaf, sa'i, and tahallul using a replica of the Kaaba and symbolic location markings. The implementation of this practice was able to improve the students' understanding of the cognitive aspects (understanding the order and laws of the Hajj), affective (appreciating spiritual values), and psychomotor (the ability to practice the Hajj rituals sequentially and correctly). Thus, learning based on Hajj ritual practices has proven effective in improving the understanding of the Hajj ritual among the students of class XII MAS Darul Ikhlash, Dalin Lidang Village, Panyabungan District.

Abstract

This study explores how morning assembly activities can be a medium for fostering student talents and interests at SD Negeri 088 Panyabungan. Morning assembly activities are held every Saturday, where different classes take turns showcasing their talents and interests in various art forms, such as singing, drama, and dancing. The research approach chosen was descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that morning assembly activities provide a forum for student self-expression, fostering self-confidence, strengthening a sense of community, and helping teachers recognize student potential in greater depth. This activity also stimulates students to actively participate in the school's arts and culture world, so that their talents and interests can grow and develop sustainably. This study recommends that schools design a more structured morning assembly schedule and involve the support of parents and supervising teachers so that the development of student talents and interests takes place optimally.

Abstract

This study explores the phenomenon of literacy culture in an effort to increase students' reading interest at SD Negeri 088 Panyabungan. This activity is carried out daily during the first period, where the homeroom teacher brings students who are not yet fluent in reading to a special room to be guided by the teacher to improve their reading skills. The research approach used is descriptive qualitative to collect students' and teachers' experiences in the process of habituating reading. The results show that the routine implementation of literacy culture has a positive effect on students' interest and reading ability, so that students tend to be more confident and more active in school literacy activities. These findings also indicate the need for consistent school environmental support and literacy-based learning strategies to truly form strong reading habits. This study recommends improving reading facilities and integrating literacy culture into daily school activities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Dhuha prayer habit and analyze its role in shaping the religious character of students at MIS Rohmatul Ummah Mompang Jae. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the principal, Islamic Religious Education teachers, students, and parents. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the Dhuha prayer habit at MIS Rohmatul Ummah Mompang Jae has been implemented routinely and programmed every day with teacher guidance. This activity is able to increase discipline, awareness of worship, and instill religious values ​​such as responsibility, politeness, and gratitude in students. In addition, the Dhuha prayer habit also has a positive impact on student behavior in the family environment, marked by increased awareness of worship and respect for parents. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Dhuha prayer habit plays an effective role in shaping students' religious character in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Quran memorization program, a flagship program at MIS Rohmatul Ummah. The program was developed as part of the madrasah's vision of developing a generation of Quranic scholars who love the Quran and possess religious character. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed descriptively to describe the program's planning, implementation, evaluation, and supporting and inhibiting factors. The results indicate that the Quran memorization program at MIS Rohmatul Ummah was implemented through structured planning, with a target of memorizing a minimum of five juz (juz) for each student by graduation. Program implementation was carried out routinely through muroja'ah (recitation), new memorization lessons, and individual memorization sessions guided by the memorization teacher. Evaluation was conducted continuously by recording students' memorization progress. This program not only improved Quran memorization achievement but also impacted the development of students' religious character, discipline, and responsibility. The program's success was supported by institutional commitment, teacher competence, parental support, and a religious school environment. Thus, the Al-Qur'an memorization program at MIS Rohmatul Ummah can be considered effective as a flagship program of the madrasah.
