Abstract

This research is motivated by the emergence of a new tourist attraction in the city of Tanjungbalai. This study aims to see how the participation of local communities in the development of the Waterfront City Tanjungbalai tourism object. The method used is observation and interviews with tourists and local communities as well as using literature studies from various literatures. The results of the study concluded that the participation of local communities in this tourist attraction was very high. This can be seen from the large number of local people's participation in developing tourist attractions by selling various kinds of souvenirs and providing transportation that can be accessed by visiting tourists. However, there is no visible participation in other matters such as less attractive tourist attractions.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the role of the At-Thoharoh Manik Maraja Foundation in managing madrasas, especially in achieving. In addition, this study also wants to know how the function of the foundation, especially in the religious field of madrasas managed by the foundation. Foundations have an important role in people's lives, namely helping people to improve their welfare through education. In addition, the existence of a foundation can help achieve community goals in the social field, both humanitarian and religious. A foundation may earn profits by conducting various businesses, but the profits obtained may only be used for social purposes, not for personal interests. This study uses a qualitative approach. The results of the study indicate that the role of the Darul Irfan foundation in providing education in At-Thoharoh is quite good, although not optimal. The function of fostering the foundation has been carried out, especially in religious guidance, managerial guidance to the head and also financial management. In addition to coaching, the foundation also helps in resolving conflicts that occur between individuals and between units/foundations. The Foundation already has a clear mechanism for conflict resolution.

Abstract

This article discusses the history and role of the Partuha Maujana Simalungun (PMS) indigenous institutions in maintaining and preserving Simalungun culture which has begun to erode with the entry of various foreign cultures. This research uses historical research methods with four steps, namely: heuristics, verification, interpretation, and historiography. Primary sources collected from official archieve such as Memorie van Overgave and Besluit, and secondary sources collected from the books, journals, and previous scientific research. The findings in this study are that the Partuha Maujana Simalungun (PMS) was established in 1964 as a continuation of efforts to strengthen Simalungun ethnic identity that has faded. In its journey, this institution succeeded in strengthening Simalungun ethnic identity through several ways, including: formulating clans, regulating customary and marriage laws, and establishing Simalungun ethnic languages and characters.

Abstract

The specialty of the priayi group is based on high status in the social strata of indigenous peoples. Priayi group has access to the wider Western world than other indigenous peoples although it still has restrictions with Europe. Some planned to be like the predecessors who worked in the colonial government and others chose to elevate the status of their people just like the Europeans. Through Western education, they are hoping can advance indigenous peoples and create a new social identity. With the technique of literature studies and using historical methods, this study aims to find out the contribution of the priayi group to the existence of the Indonesian state through Western education during Dutch colonialism. Studies show the education they get becomes the solution to the social problems of the Dutch East Indies community. Social equality has inspired them to enculturate as a step of harmonization of indigenous peoples and form a nationalist spirit as the one Indonesian people. The struggles of the priayi group become a picture of supporting the success of Indonesian society that gives the fruit of the thought to live a community life today.

Abstract

Pandemic Covid-19 impact on a human life one of the food. The policy of the pandemic Covid-19 PSBB (large-scale social restrictions) and PPKM (implementation of restrictions on community activities), disturbed and access to food especially at the global level. However, the local food North Pagai have non rice to replace prime food such as rice. By using the method ethnography to uncover and understand and local food commodities and accessibility of households stayed at the pandemic Covid-19.This is done to see food security that relies on local food non rice as an alternative food. The results show food security in the household level can survive by relying on local food that is non rice, taro, bananas and the natural result of the results of the sea and the forest. Local food commodities had grown up in the fields, the garden around shelter. Then, modifying the food of subbet gettek and subbet bagok and tekgi’ consumed dayli. So, even in the pandemic, food security in the household level well remain unfulfilled.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic had an impact on various sectors of the world be it economic, social, political. The central government up to the local level provides policies to dissolve all educational institutions. This is done to break the chain of spread of the Covid-19 virus. The study also aims to find out how obstacles and expectations are during online learning in this pandemic period. This research uses literature research methods, where this research in the collection of information and data using a variety of materials and materials in the library. The obstacles during online learning are inadequate internet networks, limited ownership of gadgets and difficulty achieving learning goals.

Abstract

Currently, countries around the world, including Indonesia, are still experiencing the Covid-19 pandemic. One of the consequences is in the field of education where face-to-face learning cannot be carried out. In order to improve the ability of students, it is necessary first to improve the ability of the educators. In order to improve teacher performance, various efforts, policies and flexible strategies are needed from a leader in the school environment, namely the principal. This study aims to determine the principal's strategy in improving teacher performance during the Covid-19 pandemic at SMP Negeri 10 Binjai. The method used in this research is a qualitative research method. Data collection techniques used are interviews, observation and documentation. The results of the study show that principals carry out regular official meetings, internet training and apply open leadership strategies in improving teacher performance. The obstacles faced by the head include teachers who have not mastered technology and are not disciplined in the learning process during the pandemic

Abstract

The learning process is a social interaction that is carried out by students and teaching staff in sharing information and knowledge. During the process, learning activities are more likely to be carried out online, either using social media, teleconferencing devices, or other applications that can be used to convey messages/information, record material, or face-to-face virtual. For this reason, the learning process does not only need to be supervised by teaching staff, but also the role of parents in the online learning process. This research is a qualitative research with a descriptive approach that will provide an overview of the role of parents in the online learning process. The role of parents who become aspects of observation include: the facilities provided and the motivation provided. The sample in this study were all students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Islamic University of North Sumatra. The existing sample was chosen randomly with a total sample of 32 students. Analysis of the data used is using interpretation analysis based on the opinions and perceptions of students in terms of parental support for the online learning process. Based on the information collected from students regarding the role of parents, it is concluded that providing facilities to support the online learning process and providing motivation is a form of parental participation in the success of online learning.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the picture and influence of leadership style, competence and motivation of lecturer work at FKIP Universitas Simalungun simultaneously and partially. Leadership style has a vital role in supporting and improving lecturer performance. High competence will improve performance. High work motivation will also improve the performance of lecturers in carrying out their duties and obligations. This research uses quantitative methods. The sample in this study was 42 lecturer at Universitas Simalungun. The analysis method used is the Multiple Linear Regression model. The data in this study is primary data collected using questionnaires. The analysis method used is Multiple Linear Regression. To test hypotheses simultaneously, F-test is used and partially used t-test.

Abstract

This study aims to describe how the process and implementation of learning during the Covid-19 pandemic for students at MTs Al-Washliyah Bangun Purba. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. In this study, the respondents involved in this research were 2 people, consisting of the Principal and Teacher Educators who taught students. Interviews were conducted in a structured manner with several structured questions. The result is that there are many obstacles in the process and implementation of learning during the Covid-19 pandemic.
