Abstract

Introduction: Head injury or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is defined as a disturbance in the normal functioning of the brain that can be caused by a collision, blow, or jolt to the head or a penetrating head injury. Decreased intracranial adaptive capacity is a disturbance of the intracranial dynamics mechanism in compensating for stimuli that can reduce intracranial capacity. This study aims to explore nursing problems in clients with mild brain injury. Methods: This study uses a case report research design. The population in this study were patients admitted to the roudloh room with mild brain injury as many as 4 people. The sample was selected using purposive sampling technique and obtained a sample of 2 patients with a nursing problem of decreased intracranial adaptive capacity. Data collection using surgical medical nursing assessment format. Data was analyzed with descriptive analitic. Results: The assessment results found that both patients experienced headaches, vertigo, nausea and vomiting and blurred vision. The nursing problem raised is a decrease in intracranial adaptive capacity. The intervention given is to provide a 30⁰ head elevation. From the results of the intervention, it was found that the intervention had been resolved. Conclusion: Giving semi fowler position with head elevation 30 ° in patients with nursing problems decreased intracranial adaptive capacity is very effective. The provision of interventions provided for 3 days with a 30 ° head elevation showed that both patients achieved outcome. Keywords: Mild Head Injury, Head Elevation 30⁰, Head Injury

The population was 39 respondents and used simple random sampling. The data were gathered by using questionnaire sheet. statistic test used Wilcoxon test Results: The research results indicated that before self-management therapy was administered, 31 adolescents (79.5%) experienced high/abnormal emotions and 1 adolescent (2.6%) experienced low/normal emotions. After the therapy was administered, 34 adolescents (87.2) experienced low/normal emotions and only 1 adolescent (2.6%) experienced high/abnormal emotions. The data which were analyzed by the Wilcoxon test indicated significance value of p=<0.05 and the significance value of self-management therapy was p=0.000, meaning that there was an effect of self-management therapy on emotional control in adolescents Conclusion: To control emotional problems in adolescents, one of the alternatives is by providing self-management therapy Keywords: Adolescents,  Emotional control, Self-management therapy

Abstract

Introduction: Immunization is one way to prevent infectious diseases, especially diseases that can be prevented by immunization given to children, infants, adolescents and adults. The purpose of this scientific paper is to determine the knowledge and role of parents with basic immunization in children aged 2-5 years Methods: The research design used a cross-sectional design. Sampling was taken using the Random Sampling technique. The independent variables are the knowledge and role of parents, the dependent variable is the completeness of basic immunization. The instruments used were questionnaires and KIA books. Data analysis used the SPSS 22.0 test. Results: The results of this study indicate that out of 62 parents, 29 parents were found to have good knowledge so that most (74.4%) of basic immunization was complete and 17 parents played a sufficient role so that almost some (41.5%) of basic immunization was complete. Conclusion: There is a relationship between knowledge and the role of parents with the completeness of basic immunization in children aged 2-5 years Keywords: Completeness of Basic Immunization, Knowledge, Role of Parents

Abstract

ABSTRACT   Introduction: The current method of measuring the clinical competency ability of nursing students is not only through CBT-based exams. One of the methods used to evaluate students' clinical skills is Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE). The purpose of this study is to explore student perception of implementation (OSCE) as a method of evaluating student skills. Methods: This study uses qualitative exploration studies with a phenomenological approach to explore into students' experiences with the OSCE. The population in this study is nursing students (2019–2020) at private University at Surabaya. A total of nine students participated in this study according to the established inclusion criteria. The data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews through Zoom with semi-structural interviews and recorded by the researchers according to the participant's consent. The study was conducted from January 14th to February 1st, 2024. Data were analyzed using the Colaizzi method to determine themes and sub-themes. Results: According to the results of the study, five themes related to student perceptions of the implementation of the OSCE covered the level of knowledge, stressors, implementation management, coping mechanisms, and advantages of OSCE methods. Conclusion: These findings are expected to serve as a basis for the strategy of implementing OSCE as a method of clinical evaluation, especially in the scope of the College of Nursing Sciences. Abstract

Proanthocyanidins, also known as condensed tannins, are oligomeric flavonoids found in various plants such as seeds, fruits, and leaves, and they offer health benefits. In vitro, in vivo, and clinical trials can demonstrate and confirm the appropriate dosage for their development in the health sector. The aim of this review article is to provide a systematic overview of the health benefits of proanthocyanidin compounds. The review process was conducted online using websites such as Google Scholar, NCBI, ScienceDirect, NIH, and PubMed with the keywords “in vitro, in vivo, and clinical trials of proanthocyanidin compounds”. The review results indicate that in vitro, in vivo, and clinical studies on proanthocyanidin compounds show health benefits such as antidiabetic, antioxidant, antibacterial, immunostimulant, insomnia therapy, analgesic effects, anthelmintic agents, and potential for COVID-19 prevention and treatment.
