Abstract

PID (Pelvic Inflammatory Disease) or pelvic inflammatory disease is an inflammation of the female reproductive organs that usually occurs in the uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries. This occurs due to bacterial infection in sexually transmitted infections (STIs). The prevalence of PID cases in the world in 2019 was 1.05 million cases in women of childbearing age. In Indonesia in 2020, around 300,000 women with gonorrhea and chlamydia infections caused 24,000 - 46,000 cases of PID in women each year. Based on data from the Treatment Room on the 2nd Floor of the dr. Iman Sudjudi Pavilion, Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital, from November 2023 to April 2024, there were 15 patients out of 803 patients treated. The medical management carried out was surgery which can cause post-operative pain. The purpose of this writing is to be able to understand nursing care for PID patients with post HDLO in Mrs. I with acute pain nursing problems by performing complementary actions, namely five-finger hypnotherapy. This study is a descriptive method with a case study approach for PID (Pelvic Inflammatory Disease) patients post HDLO with acute pain in the Treatment Room on the Second Floor of the dr. Iman Sudjudi Pavilion, Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital. The results of this study indicate that in PID patients with post HDLO with acute pain who underwent complementary actions of five-finger hypnotherapy for 3x24 hours, the results showed a decrease in the intensity of the pain scale, before the pain scale was 6 and after it was done it became a pain scale of 2. The conclusion obtained is that there is an effect of five-finger hypnotherapy on reducing the intensity of the pain scale in PID post HDLO patients. Therefore, this method can be applied as a complementary therapy to reduce pain in post HDLO patients.

Abstract

Colles fracture is defined as a fracture of the distal radius. Colles fracture is a common trauma to the wrist. This fracture usually occurs most often after falling on a stretched hand or with an outstretched hand. Pain is a problem in post-op Colles Fracture patients. One of the nursing interventions to reduce pain intensity is with deep breathing relaxation techniques and a combination of guided imagery with music. This paper aims to determine the effect of deep breathing relaxation techniques and a combination of guided imagery with music in reducing pain levels in post-fracture surgery patients. This paper uses data collection methods with interviews, observations, physical examinations and documentation studies. Non-Pharmacological interventions were given for 10 minutes in 3 meetings in post-colles fracture surgery patients. The results obtained after being given deep breathing relaxation technique intervention and a combination of guided imagery with music showed a decrease in pain levels from a scale of 5-6 (Moderate) to a scale of 3 (Light). The conclusion is that after conducting a case study, the results showed that there was a change in the pain scale before and after the intervention was given using deep breathing relaxation techniques in combination with guided imagery with music.

Abstract

Complementary therapy is a health method that is applied in conjunction with conventional medicine to improve the health of patients. These techniques include acupuncture, massage, and the use of herbs. Complementary therapy should be used safely and effectively as a complement to care, especially in the context of family nursing care. Family nurses have an important role in helping families overcome health problems in sick family members, one of which is a family member with hypertension. Hypertension or high blood pressure is a condition where blood pressure exceeds 140/90 mmHg. One of the complementary therapies to lower blood pressure is the administration of tomato juice. The author uses a descriptive case study design with a nursing process approach to hypertensive patients. The author will look at the description of nursing care for hypertensive patients with the administration of tomato juice to determine whether it can lower blood pressure. When the initial blood pressure measurement was 150/98 mmHg and after complementary therapy with tomato juice for 4 days given twice a day in the morning and evening, blood pressure decreased to 145/92 mmHg.

The results of this case study showed that the implementation of strategy 1 could be resolved on the 3rd day. Based on the case study, it was found that the action of discussing the advantages and disadvantages of interacting with others is a good action to take for patients with social isolation because it can improve the ability to interact with others.

Abstract

Mental disorders are manifestations of behavioral deviations due to emotional distortion, resulting in abnormal behavior. This occurs because of the decline in all mental functions. Curative efforts in the form of collaboration with other health teams to provide treatment and rehabilitative efforts can help patients in their daily activities, so that they can return to normal life. Interventions for families are intended to strengthen the family system, prevent or inhibit relapse, and maintain clients in the community. This research method uses a descriptive case study design that aims to create systematic descriptions, images, paintings where data collection uses interviews, observations, documentation and demonstrations. The results of this study indicate that by providing information to families about the disease, suggesting effective coping mechanisms and psychoeducation programs, it can reduce the tendency of clients to relapse and reduce the influence of this disease on other families.

One of the families targeted for family nursing care is Mr. S, especially the elderly Mrs. S with osteoarthritis. After the assessment, it was found that the nursing diagnosis of family nursing management was ineffective. Furthermore, the action was taken, namely the application of complementary therapy of warm compresses with boiled ginger water for 5 consecutive days and there was a decrease in pain. The last step was to evaluate the problem, TUK 1, TUK 2 were achieved and in TUK 3, TUK 4, TUK 5 had not been achieved so that follow-up was needed to overcome the problem. The writing method used is descriptive with a case study approach where the author took one of the families given care by applying complementary therapy of warm compresses boiled with ginger water. The application of complementary therapy of warm compresses boiled with ginger water has been proven to be able to reduce pain in families with osteoarthritis problems, although the results are not significant because they are only carried out for 5 consecutive days.

Abstract

Background: HNP is a condition in which the annulus fibrosus and nucleus pulposus protrude into the spinal canal. The basis of HNP is the process of intervertebral disc degeneration so that it often occurs in the third and fifth decades. Postoperative is the period after surgery. In general, post-operative patients will experience complaints of pain on a mild to severe scale, if the pain is not treated properly it can interfere with the patient's activities. Objective: This case study aims to reduce the level of pain consisting of pharmacological (analgesic therapy) and non-pharmacological actions. One of the non-pharmacological actions that can reduce pain is warm compresses. Method: This case study uses a descriptive method in the form of a single case study conducted on one patient with a medical diagnosis of Hernia Nucleus Pulposus who was treated on the 5th Floor of the Eri Sadewo Pavilion, RSPAD Gatot Soebroto, using data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews, and physical examination. The patient was given a non-pharmacological intervention of warm compresses. Implementation was carried out for 3x24 hours. Results: The evaluation showed that after being given a warm compress, the patient said the pain was still felt, the pain scale was 4, the intervention was continued independently. Conclusion: After conducting a case study that shows that the application of warm compresses to post-operative HNP patients has an effect on reducing the pain scale and providing comfort to patients
