Abstract

Increasing problem-solving competence is fundamental for students to learn in the future. The application of problem-based learning (PBL) has not been optimal, especially in Islamic boarding schools. This study aims to know the effect of PBL learning model on problem-solving skills of students in Islamic boarding schools. The type of research used is quasi-experimental research. The populations in this study were 4 classes with a total of 108 students. The sample consisted of 2 classes, namely class X IPA A as the experimental class and class X IPA B as the control class, 26 students each. The sampling technique used cluster random sampling. Data collection techniques using test instruments in the form of multiple choice with 25 questions. The data analysis technique used in this study was the normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing. The results were tested using a paired sample test (t test) on the PBL learning model on problem-solving skills, the significant value was 0.000 (sig. <0.05) then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. These results indicate a significant difference using the PBL model compared to conventional learning. PBL is an alternative learning model that encourages student-oriented biological learning and improves students' ability to solve problems, especially in Islamic boarding schools.Abstrak Peningkatan kompetensi pemecahan masalah menjadi hal mendasar bagi siswa untuk belajar di masa depan. Penerapan pembelajaran berbasis masalah (PBL) belum optimal khususnya di Pesantren.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran PBL terhadap kemampuan memecahkan masalah pada siswa di pesantren. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimen semu. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah 4 kelas dengan jumlah 108 siswa. Sampel terdiri atas 2 kelas yaitu kelas X IPA A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X IPA B sebagai kelas kontrol, masing-masing kelas terdiri atas 26 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan cluster random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen tes berupa 25 soal pilihan berganda. Teknik analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan uji normalitas,uji homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis.Hasil penelitian diuji menggunakan  paired sample test (uji t) pada model pembelajaran PBL terhadap kemampuan memecahkan masalah, diperoleh nilai signifikan 0,000 (sig.<0,05) maka H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran PBL dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional.  PBL sebagai alternatif model pembelajaran yang mendorong pembelajaran biologi berorientasi siswa serta meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah khususnya pada siswa Pesantren.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of technology causes educators to be ready to use digital-based learning media. This study aims to determine the effect of the digital booklet on the diversity of mangrove crabs on Sangiang Island in the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on students' conservation attitudes. This research method uses a quasi-experimental design with a post-test-only control group design. The research sample was taken using a purposive sampling technique. This study used two sample groups, namely the control and experimental groups. Data collection uses a questionnaire which is accessed via a Google form. The questionnaire contains questions about the conservation attitudes character of as many as 50 items; with a value scale from 1-4. The results showed an effect of using digital booklets on the conservation attitude of students at SMA Negeri 4 Serang City. The average conservation attitude in the experimental class got a fairly high score of 55, while the control class got a score of 54. This value is the result of the accumulation of five characteristics of attainment of conservation attitudes, namely knowledge, concern, skills, attitudes, and participation. Based on these results, using digital media, one of which is a booklet, can be a solution for achieving the competence of students' conservation attitudes.Abstrak Pesatnya kemajuan teknologi menyebabkan para pendidik harus siap memanfaatkan media pembelajaran berbasis digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh booklet digital keanekaragaman kepiting bakau di pulau Sangiang dengan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap sikap konservasi siswa. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan quasi experiment dengan rancangan post-test only control group design. Pengambilan sampel penelitian menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua kelompok sampel yaitu kelompok kontrol dan eksperimen. Pengumpulan data menggunakan angket yang diakses melalui Google form. Angket berisi pertanyaan tentang karakter sikap konservasi sebanyak 50 butir soal, dan dilengkapi dengan skala nilai dari 1-4. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya pengaruh penggunaan booklet digital terhadap sikap konservasi siswa di SMA Negeri 4 Kota Serang. Rata-rata sikap konservasi di kelas eksperimen mendapatkan nilai yang cukup tinggi yaitu sebesar 55 sedangkan untuk kelas kontrol memperoleh nilai 54. Nilai tersebut adalah hasil akumulasi dari lima karakter ketercapaian sikap konservasi yaitu pengetahuan, kepedulian, keterampilan, sikap, dan partisipasi. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, penggunaan media digital salah satunya berbentuk booklet dapat menjadi solusi untuk ketercapaian kompetensi sikap konservasi peserta didik.

Abstract

The use of the lecture method in learning biology in the classroom does not provide opportunities for students to develop skills and express their opinions. Multimedia learning media is needed to increase the interest and quality of student learning. This study uses a qualitative method. The subjects of this study were 44 students of MAS Subulussalam Sumberjo, Torgamba District, South Labuhanbatu. The focus of this research is on students of class X MIPA-A and X MIPA-B, and the results obtained are in the form of observation data, interviews and questionnaires to determine student responses to the use of multimedia in learning biology. Indicators that are used as a reference to see student responses to the use of multimedia are learning with the lecture method, the implementation of multimedia learning in the form of animated videos, the quality of multimedia presentation, and the effect of using multimedia in the form of animated videos. In conclusion, the learning indicator using animated video media has a large percentage value compared to the number of other indicators, namely 90%, so that student reactions can be interpreted as follows: The use of multimedia is very good, because the use of multimedia makes students more active and enthusiastic in learning biology.Abstrak Penggunaan metode ceramah dalam pembelajaran biologi di kelas tidak memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa untuk mengembangkan keterampilan dan mengemukakan pendapatnya. Media pembelajaran multimedia dibutuhkan untuk meningkatkan minat dan kualitas belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 44 siswa MAS Subulussalam Sumberjo Kecamatan Torgamba Labuhanbatu Selatan. Fokus penelitian ini pada siswa kelas X MIPA-A dan X MIPA-B, dan hasil yang diperoleh berupa data observasi, wawancara dan angket untuk mengetahui respon siswa terhadap penggunaan multimedia dalam pembelajaran biologi. Indikator yang dijadikan acuan untuk melihat tanggapan siswa terhadap penggunaan multimedia adalah pembelajaran dengan metode ceramah, pelaksanaan pembelajaran multimedia dalam bentuk video animasi, kualitas penyajian multimedia, dan pengaruh penggunaan multimedia dalam bentuk video Animasi. Kesimpulannya, indikator pembelajaran dengan media video animasi memiliki nilai persentase yang besar dibandingkan dengan jumlah indikator lainnya yaitu 90%, sehingga reaksi siswa dapat diartikan sebagai berikut: Penggunaan multimedia sangat baik, karena penggunaan multimedia membuat siswa lebih aktif dan bersemangat dalam pembelajaran biologi.

Abstract

Rapid technological advances must be used optimally, especially in compiling learning media to create effective and efficient learning activities. This research aims to develop an e-poster learning media based on a website on digestion system material for grade XI of MA Madani Alauddin Pao-Pao that is valid, practical, and effective. This research uses the ADDIE development model's type of research and development. The developed product is tested through validity, practicality, and effectiveness tests. The subjects were 27 students of grade XI MIA MA Madani Alauddin Pao-Pao. The instruments used in the study were media validation sheets, student response questionnaires, educator response questionnaires, and learning outcomes test items. The results of the data analysis obtained a validity level of 3.60 (very valid), the practicality level of student responses is 3.18 (practical), and the educators' response is 3.06 (practical). Learning outcomes test students is 88.88% (effective). Based on the research, e-poster learning media based on a website on digestion system material deserves to be used. The result of the research is in the form of teaching media. Researchers hope that students can be motivated to learn independently and that teachers can make it easier to distribute the material being taught.Abstrak Kemajuan teknologi yang kian pesat perlu dimanfaatkan secara optimal, khususnya dalam menyusun media pembelajaran sehingga tercipta kegiatan belajar yang efektif dan efisien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran e-poster berbasis website pada materi sistem pencernaan siswa kelas XI MA Madani Alauddin Pao-Pao yang bersifat valid, praktis, dan efektif. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian dan pengembangan dengan model pengembangan ADDIE. Produk yang dikembangkan diuji melalui uji validitas, uji kepraktisan dan uji keefektifan. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas XI MIA MA Madani Alauddin Pao-Pao sebanyak 27 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah lembar validasi media, angket respon peserta didik, angket respon pendidik, dan butir-butir tes hasil belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media yang dikembangkan memiliki tingkat validitas yaitu 3.60 (sangat valid), tingkat kepraktisan berdasarkan penilaian respon peserta didik yaitu 3.18 (praktis) dan respon pendidik yaitu 3.06 (praktis). Tes hasil belajar peserta didik mencapai 88.88% (efektif), sehingga media pembelajaran e-poster berbasis website layak digunakan. Hasil penelitian berupa media ajar, peneliti berharap siswa termotivasi belajar secara mandiri dan bagi guru dapat memudahkan menyalurkan materi yang diajarkan.

Abstract

Education is a learning process in increasing the knowledge and insights possessed by these students. The existence of technology for biology education students can be useful for the learning process and as a learning medium. This type of research is qualitative with descriptive method. The population used is the sixth semester of Biology Education Students, the total sample is 35 people, the data collection technique is done by giving questionnaires, the questionnaires are given to students directly and through google form. The results of the study obtained from 5 indicators (1) The use of learning media applications through the use of technology obtained a percentage of 60.29%, (2) Increased motivation obtained a percentage of 59.78%, (3) Effectiveness obtained a percentage of 61.30%, (4) Learning Media obtained the percentage of 56.36%, (5) Interest in Using Technology obtained a percentage of 57.96%, With the existence of learning media through the use of technology, it can support the implementation of learning for students and can get better knowledge insights.AbstrakPendidikan merupakan suatu proses pembelajaran didalam menambah pengetahuan wawasan yang dimiliki oleh mahasiswa tersebut. dengan adanya Teknologi bagi  mahasiswa pendidikan biologi dapat bermanfaat untuk proses pembelajaran  dan sebagai  media pembelajaran Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat dang mengetahui penggunaan media pembelajaran melalui pemanfaatan teknologi bagi mahasiswa  pendidikan biologi memiliki peran penting didalam menunjang pelaksanaan pembelajaran. Jenis Penelitian ini kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Populasi yang digunakan adalah Mahasiswa/i Pendidikan Biologi Semester enam,Total sempel berjumlah 35 orang, Tehnik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pemberian angket, Angket tersebut diberikan kepada Mahasiswa/i yang secara langsung dan melalui google form. Hasil Penelitian yang diperoleh dari 5 indikator (1) Penggunaan Aplikasi  media pembelajaran melalui pemanfaatan teknologi memperoleh persentase sebesar 60.29%, (2) Peningkatan Motivasi memperoleh persentase sebesar 59.78%, (3) Keefektifan memperoleh persentase sebesar 61.30%, (4) Media Pembelajaran memperoleh persentase sebesar 56.36%, (5) Minat Penggunaan Teknologi memperoleh persentase sebesar 57.96%, Dengan adanya media pembelajaran melalui  pemanfaatan teknologi  bisa menunjang  didalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran  bagi mahasiswa dan bisa mendapatkan wawasan  pengetahuan yang lebih baik.

Abstract

The high population of golden snails is a pest of rice for farmers in Kamanasa. Proper education is needed so the farming community can solve this golden snail pest problem independently and sustainably. This study aims to analyze the population density of golden snails in the Malacca Regency Kamanasa rice field area, determine the environmental factors that influence it, and analyze appropriate educational strategies for farming communities. The method used to record the population density of golden snails is a survey method with field observation points determined by purposive sampling. At the same time, the determination of educational strategies is carried out by studying literature. The population density data were analyzed using the population density formula by Odum and Barrett. Based on the research data, the population density of golden snails at observation points I, II, III, IV, and V shows that the density of golden snails in the rice fields of Kamanasa, Malacca Regency is relatively high. Direct learning is the most suitable educational method because people with different cognitive backgrounds can more easily understand concepts through direct interaction in the field. In addition, guidelines written in popular languages are needed so that the community can independently sustainably manage the golden snail.Abstrak Populasi keong emas yang tinggi menjadi hama padi bagi petani di Kamanasa. Edukasi yang tepat diperlukan agar masyarakat tani dapat menyelesaikan masalah hama keong emas ini secara mandiri dan berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kepadatan populasi keong emas di areal persawahan Kamanasa di Kabupaten Malaka, mengetahui faktor-faktor lingkungan yang mempengaruhi, dan menganalisis strategi pendidikan yang tepat untuk masyarakat tani. Metode yang digunakan dalam mendata kepadatan populasi keong emas adalah metode survei dengan titik pengamatan lapangan ditentukan secara purposive (Porpusive sampling method), sedangkan penentuan strategi pendidikan dilakukan dengan studi literatur. Data kepadatan populasi keong emas dianalisis menggunakan rumus kepadatan populasi menurut Odum dan Barrett. Berdasarkan data hasil penelitian kepadatan populasi keong emas pada titik pengamatan I, II, III, IV, dan V menunjukan tingkat kepadatan keong emas di areal persawahan Kamanasa Kabupaten Malaka tergolong tinggi. Direct learning (pembelajaran langsung) merupakan metode pendidikan yang paling cocok karena masyarakat dengan latar belakang kognitif yang berbeda dapat lebih mudah memahami konsep melalui interaksi langsung di lapangan. Selain itu, diperlukan pedoman yang ditulis dengan bahasa populer, sehingga masyarakat secara mandiri dapat melakukan penanggulangan keong emas secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Central Kalimantan has abundant biodiversity, one of which is galam which is often found in swampy areas in Central Kalimantan. One example of the use of galam is processing it into soap products as an effort to manage plant-based waste typical of Central Kalimantan. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of galam soap (Melaleuca cajuputi) against Salmonella typhi bacteria, where the results of this study have the potential to be developed as a learning resource for the application of ethnoscience-based learning. This study used an experimental research method using the disc method and the research design was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The results showed that galam soap was effective in inhibiting the growth of Salmonella typhi bacteria. The results of these studies can be used as a learning resource in lecture activities as a form of implementation of ethnoscience-based learning using the results of recent research, because ethnoscience-based learning is expected to help create meaningful learning activities.Abstrak Kalimantan Tengah memiliki keanekaragaman hayati yang melimpah, salah satunya berupa galam yang seringkali ditemui pada wilayah rawa di Kalimantan Tengah. Salah satu contoh pemanfaatan galam diantaranya diolah manjadi produk sabun sebagai upaya untuk pengelolaan limbah berbasis tumbuhan khas yang ada di Kalimantan Tengah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas anti bakteri sabun galam (Melaleuca cajuputi) terhadap bakteri Salmonella typhi, dimana hasil penelitian tersebut sangat berpotensi untuk dikembangkan sebagai sumber belajar untuk penerapan pembelajaran berbasis etnosains. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian eksperimen dengan menggunakan metode cakram serta desain penelitiannnya berupa Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sabun galam terbukti efektif dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Salmonella typhi. Hasil penelitian tersebut dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber belajar pada kegiatan perkuliahan sebagai bentuk implementasi dari pembelajaran berbasis etnosains menggunakan hasil-hasil penelitian terkini, karena pembelajaran berbasis etnosains diharapkan dapat membantu menciptakan kegiatan pembelajaran yang bermakna.

Abstract

Learning media is designed to arouse curiosity and increase students' knowledge. If only listening to verbal information from the teacher, students are more likely to ignore what is being taught. Therefore, the use of learning media has proven to be effective. Currently, learning materials are sourced from textbooks. This study aims to determine the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of a booklet developed from the inventory of pitcher plants (Nepenthes sp.) as a learning medium for high school/MA students. The research stages include the needs analysis stage, the booklet planning stage, the booklet creation stage, the validation stage, the trial stage, and the multiplication of booklet prints. The research instruments are in the form of validation sheets and questionnaires. Material experts and design experts assess validation. The practical tests of students and teachers include evaluating the booklet's physical appearance and overall content. The validation assessment was 88.6% and 90.4% "very valid" by design and material experts, respectively. The product's practicality based on the responses of students and teachers obtained a result of 96.7%, and the product's effectiveness got a result of 94% with the category of "excellent." This data shows Indonesia's biodiversity is a force that can be developed to meet the opportunities and challenges in education.Abstrak Media pembelajaran dirancang untuk membangkitkan rasa ingin tahu serta menambah ilmu pengetahuan siswa. Jika hanya mendengarkan informasi verbal dari guru, siswa lebih cenderung mengabaikan apa yang diajarkan. Oleh karena itu, penggunaan media pembelajaran terbukti efektif. Saat ini, materi pembelajaran bersumber pada buku teks. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan, kepraktisan dan keefektifan buklet yang dikembangkan dari inventarisasi tumbuhan kantong semar (Nepenthes sp.) sebagai media pembelajaran bagi siswa SMA/MA. Tahapan penelitian yang dilakukan meliputi tahap analisis kebutuhan, tahap perencanaan buklet, tahap pembuatan buklet, tahap validasi, tahap uji coba, dan perbanyakan cetakan buklet. Instrumen penelitian berupa lembar validasi dan kuesioner. Validasi dinilai oleh ahli material, ahli desain. Uji praktis oleh respon siswa dan wawancara guru dalam menilai penampilan fisik dan keseluruhan isi buklet. Penilaian validasi yang diperoleh sebesar 88,6%, 90,4% “sangat valid” masing-masing oleh ahli desain dan ahli material. Kepraktisan produk berdasarkan respon siswa dan guru memperoleh hasil 96,7%, dan keefektifan produk memperoleh hasil 94% dengan kategori “sangat baik”. Data ini menunjukkan keanekaragaman hayati di Indonesia adalah kekuatan yang dapat dikembangkan untuk menghadapi peluang dan tantangan dalam pendidikan.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve student learning outcomes and determine the effect of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) learning model assisted by question card media on human reproductive system material. This study employed a quantitative research type, with a quasi-experimental research design. Class XI science 1 student totalled 36, and class XI science 2 students totalled 36, with research instruments consisting of hand-held elective tests administered during post-test and pre-test. Using version 20 of the SPSS software, descriptive and paired simple t-test analyses of data were conducted. The average pre-test scores for the experimental group were 24.17, whereas those for the control group were 22,78. The average post-test scores of the experimental group were 80,14, on the other hand, those of the control group were 69. In the paired simple t-test, the 2-tailed sign value was 0,00 < 0,05, and the tcount > ttable which was 47,61 > 2,03. This demonstrates that the TGT learning model assisted by media question cards can enhance learning outcomes and significantly impact the biology learning process. TGT learning aided by question cards may be one way for educators to optimise learning processes and outcomes. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Team Games Tournament (TGT) berbantuan media question card pada materi sistem reproduksi manusia dan meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik SMA kelas XI IPA. Jenis penelitian berupa penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian berupa  quasi eksperimen. Sampel penelitian yaitu siswa kelas XI IPA 1 berjumlah 36 siswa dan kelas XI IPA 2 berjumlah 36 siswa dengan instrument penelitian berupa tes pilihan bergandan yang diberikan saat dilakukan uji post-test dan pre-test. Analisis data berupa analisis deskriptif dan uji paired simple t-test dengan bantuan software SPSS versi 20. Adapun hasil rata-rata pre-test pada kelas eksperimen yaitu 24,17 dan pada kelas kontrol yaitu 22,78. Hasil rata-rata post-test kelas eksperimen yaitu 80,14 dan  kelas kontrol yaitu 69,72.  Pada uji paired simple t-test nilai sig. 2-tailed 0,00 < 0,05 dengan nilai thitung > ttabel yaitu 47,61 > 2,03. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa model pembelajaran TGT berbantuan media question card dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dan juga memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan dalam proses pembelajaran biologi. Pembelajaran TGT berbantuan question card dapat menjadi salah satu solusi bagi guru untuk mengoptimalkan proses dan hasil belajar.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between scientific literacy and students' environmental attitudes. Data were collected using a survey method with scientific literacy test instruments and environmental attitude questionnaires. The research samples are 123 students of MAN 1 Kuantan Singingi, Riau. Data were analyzed using Spearman's Correlational test. The results of research for student scientific literacy in three indicators get an average score 65.5 for indicators explaining scientific phenomena, 60 for indicators of scientific design and evaluation and 83.6 for indicators of data interpretation and scientific facts. The results of students' environmental attitudes on the four indicators get an average of 3.9 and 3.7. The results of the correlation test shown that the correlation coefficient of scientific literacy and environmental attitudes is 0.850 > 0.05, which is not correlated. Based on this research, it can be explained that 1) the overall scientific literacy of students is in the moderate category 2) the overall environmental attitude of students is in the high category and 3) There is no correlation between students' scientific literacy and environmental attitudes. Pros and cons were found between the results of this study and previous studies. Further, broader research is needed to explore the causes of these differences, and to state their impact on education in the future.Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara literasi sains dan sikap lingkungan siswa. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode survei dengan instrumen tes literasi sains dan angket sikap lingkungan. Sampel penelitian merupakan 123 siswa MAN 1 Kuantan Singingi, Riau. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Korelasional Spearman. Hasil penelitian untuk literasi sains siswa pada tiga indikator mendapatkan rerata sebesar 65,5 untuk indikator menjelaskan fenomena saintifik, 60 untuk indikator desain dan evaluasi saintifik dan 83,6 untuk indikator interpretasi data dan fakta saintifik. Hasil sikap lingkungan siswa pada empat indikator mendapatkan rerata sebesar 3,9 dan 3,7.  Hasil uji korelasi menunjukkan koefisien korelasi literasi sains dan sikap lingkungan sebesar 0,850 > 0,05, yaitu tidak berkorelasi. Berdasarkan penelitian tersebut dapat dijelaskan bahwa 1) Literasi sains siswa secara keseluruhan berada pada kategori sedang 2) Sikap lingkungan siswa secara keseluruhan berada pada kategori tinggi dan 3) Hasil uji korelasi menunjukkan tidak ada hubungan antara literasi sains siswa dan sikap lingkungan. Ditemukannya pro dan kontra antara hasil penelitian ini dengan penelitian-penelitian sebelumnya. Diperlukan penelitian lanjutan lebih luas untuk menelisik penyebab perbedaan tersebut, dan menyatakan dampaknya bagi pendidikan di masa depan.
