Abstract

The impact of COVID-19 on online learning biology 2020-2021 makes everyone panic, so it is necessary to be alert for innovation in learning, including in public high schools in Palangkaraya City. COVID-19 on social interactions that can affect psychosocial decline, digital literacy, the need for sorting educational information, and scientific literacy in the form of laboratory practicums do not exist because they have not found the right method. The purpose of the study is to describe three aspects that are affected by the pandemic, namely social interaction, scientific literacy, and digital literacy in online learning 2020 - now which is experiencing changes in lifestyle patterns. The type of research is qualitative phenomenological design, the method uses a questionnaire, semi-structured interview, and observation. The research was conducted in April 2022, totaling 58 people and one teacher and using purposive sampling data collection techniques. The data analysis technique used was three conditions and the stages of analysis consisted of data reduction with the help of NVivo-12, data presentation, and conclusion. The results show that COVID-19 with social interactions indicated a decline in students' psychosocial, digital literacy students are required to be able to, and scientific literacy that needs to be retrained because it is not optimal in assessing the performance process.AbstrakDampak COVID-19 pada pembelajaran online biologi 2020-2021 membuat kepanikan semua orang, sehingga perlu kesigapan inovasi dalam pembelajaran termasuk sekolah SMA Negeri di Kota Palangkaraya. COVID-19 terhadap interaksi sosial yang bisa mempengaruhi penurunan in psikososial, literasi digital perlunya pemilahan informasi pendidikan dan literasi sains dalam bentuk praktikum laboratorium tidak ada karena belum menemukan metode yang tepat. Tujuan penelitian mendeskripsikan tiga aspek yang dipengaruhi oleh pandemi yakni interaksi sosial, literasi sains, dan literasi digital pada pembelajaran online 2020 - sekarang yang mengalami perubahan pola gaya hidup. Jenis penelitian kualitatif desain fenomenologi, metode menggunakan kuesioner, wawancara semi struktur, dan observasi. Penelitian dilakukan April 2022, berjumlah 58 orang dan satu guru serta teknik pengambilan data purposive sampling. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan tiga kondisi dan tahapan analisis terdiri reduksi data dengan bantuan NVivo-12, penyajian data, dan menarik kesimpulan. Hasil menunjukkan COVID-19 dengan interaksi sosial yang diindikasi mengalami penurunan psikososial siswa, literasi digital siswa dituntut bisa, serta literasi sains yang perlu dilatih kembali karena kurang optimal dalam penilaian proses kinerja.

Abstract

Online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic generally reduces student interest in education. This study aims to analyze the factors causing the decline in students' interest and motivation and formulate solutions to solve them. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The data collection technique is done through intentional sampling, the data collection technique is done through interviews and questionnaires, and the data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman model. Based on the study's results, it is known that the increase in students' interest and motivation to learn science during the COVID-19 pandemic has not been fully achieved. Students have difficulty understanding the material taught by the teacher with a percentage of 86%, learning concentration difficulties at 84%, enthusiasm at 81%, and the level of boredom reaches 82%. The results of interviews with teachers and students showed that problems in understanding science learning activities were caused by the lack of interest and motivation of students and facilities and infrastructure, and caused by an unstable internet network. Therefore, motivation and interesting learning tools are needed to increase student interest in learning.Abstrak Pembelajaran online pada pada masa pandemi COVID-19 umumnya mengurangi minat belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor penyebab menurunnya minat dan motivasi siswa, dan merumuskan solusi untuk menyelesaikannya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif, teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui intensional sampling, teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara dan angket, dan teknik analisis data menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui peningkatan minat dan motivasi siswa untuk belajar IPA selama pandemi COVID-19 belum sepenuhnya tercapai, siswa mengalami kesulitan memahami materi yang diajarkan guru dengan persentase 86%, kesulitan konsentrasi belajar 84%, penyajian 81%, dan tingkat kebosanan mencapai 82%. Hasil wawancara dengan guru dan siswa menunjukkan bahwa kesulitan dalam memahami kegiatan pembelajaran IPA disebabkan oleh kurangnya minat dan motivasi siswa serta sarana dan prasarana serta disebabkan oleh jaringan internet yang tidak stabil. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan motivasi dan sarana belajar yang menarik agar dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa.

Abstract

Guided inquiry can make students active in solving problems with the skills and knowledge that students have. This supports the improvement of student learning outcomes and fosters student creativity in understanding learning materials through mind mapping. The purpose of this study was to examine the guided inquiry model with the aid of mind mapping on the biology learning outcomes of class X high school students. This type of research uses a quasi-experimental with Pre-test and Post-test Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The population of the study was class X students as many as 3 classes with a total of 108 people. The sample consisted of 2 classes, namely X IPA1 as the control class and X IPA2 as the experimental class. Samples were taken using purposive sampling technique. The data was taken using a test instrument in the form of multiple choice questions 20 questions. Data analysis was carried out using the t test, the results obtained were tcount> ttable  so H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. The conclusion of this study is that there is an effect of guided inquiry model with mind mapping on biology learning outcomes. This guided inquiry learning model with mind mapping can help students participate in the learning process and observation and can make students understand the subject matter better.Abstrak Inkuiri terbimbing dapat membuat siswa aktif dalam memecahkan masalah dengan keterampilan dan pengetahuan yang dimiliki siswa. Hal ini mendukung peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dan menumbuhkan kreatifitas siswa dalam memahami materi pembelajaran melalui mind mapping. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk melihat model inkuiri terbimbing berbantuan mind mapping terhadap hasil belajar biologi siswa kelas X SMA. Jenis penelitian menggunakan quasy experimental dengan Pre-test and Post-test Non Equivalent Control Group Design. Populasi dari penelitian adalah siswa kelas  X  sebanyak 3 kelas dengan jumlah 108 orang. Sampel terdiri atas 2 kelas yakni X IPA1 sebagai kelas kontrol dan X IPA2 sebagai kelas eksperimen. Sampel diambil menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data diambil menggunakan instrumen tes berupa soal pilihan berganda berjumlah 20 soal. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji t, diperoleh hasil thitung> ttabel jadi H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah ada pengaruh model inkuiri terbimbing dengan mind mapping  terhadap hasil belajar biologi. Model pembelajaran guided inquiry dengan mind mapping  ini bisa membantu siswa berpartisipasi dalam proses pembelajaran maupun pengamatan serta dapat membuat siswa lebih memahami materi pelajaran.

Abstract

Creative thinking in the 21st century is needed to prepare humans to become faithful, productive, innovative and creative individuals and contribute to the life of society, nation, and state. Schools make creative thinking skills one of the graduation competencies of students. This study aims to describe the level and character of students' creative thinking skills in solving ecological problems. The research method is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The research subjects were nine students selected based on the purposive sampling method. Data were analyzed using the triangulation analysis method. The study results used four levels of students' ability to solve problems creatively on the concept of ecology. The level of creative thinking ability of students is dominant at a moderately creative level. Characteristics of the creative thinking ability level of students, namely the creative level, have a high fluency aspect achievement, while flexibility and novelty are classified as moderate. The moderately creative level has a moderate achievement of fluency, flexibility, and novelty aspects, and students with a less creative level have a low achievement of fluency, flexibility, and novelty aspects. These results prove that creative thinking skills still need to be optimized at the high school.Abstrak Berpikir kreatif pada abad 21 dibutuhkan untuk mempersiapkan manusia menjadi pribadi yang beriman, produktif, inovatif dan kreatif serta berkontribusi pada kehidupan masyarakat, berbangsa dan bernegara. Sekolah menjadikan kemampuan berpikir kreatif salah satu kompetensi kelulusan peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan tingkat dan karakter kemampuan berpikir kreatif peserta didik dalam menyelesaikan masalah ekologi. Metode penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian adalah sembilan orang peserta didik yang dipilih berdasarkan metode purposive sampling. Data dianalisis mengunakan metode analysis triagulasi. Hasil penelitian menggunakan empat tingkat kemampuan peserta didik dalam penyelesaian masalah secara kreatif pada konsep ekologi. Tingkat kemampuan berpikir kreatif peserta didik dominan pada tingkat cukup kreatif. Karakteristik tingkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif peserta didik, yaitu tingkat kreatif memiliki ketercapaian aspek fluency tinggi, sedangkan flexibility dan novelty tergolong sedang. Tingkat cukup kreatif memiliki ketercapaian aspek fluency, flexibility dan novelty tergolong sedang, dan peserta didik tingkat kurang kreatif memiliki ketercapaian aspek fluency, flexibility dan novelty tergolong rendah. Hasil ini membuktikan kemampuan berpikir kreatif masih perlu dioptimalkan di tingkat SMA.

Abstract

The quality of education in preparing students to have critical thinking skills has not been optimal. Guided inquiry stimulates the thinking ability of students. This study analyses the guided inquiry learning model's effect on students' critical thinking skills on the body's defence system material. This research is quasi-experimental. The population in this study were four classes with a sample consisting of two classes, namely XI IPA A as the experimental class and XI IPA B as the control class. The sampling technique used random cluster sampling. Data collection techniques using multiple choice questions. The results showed: that the calculation of the paired sample t-test in the guided inquiry learning model got a significant value (sig) of 0.00, which means that the sig value is smaller than 0.05 (0.00<0.05). This result shows a probability of less than 0.05, meaning the guided inquiry learning model between the experimental and control classes is not the same. The pre-test and post-test values are more significant than 0.05 (sig>0.05), so it concluded that the data in this study are homogeneous. There is a significant difference in the use of this learning model that educational institutions should follow up. Teacher qualifications need to be improved in innovating and implementing this learning model to optimize students' critical thinking skills.Abstrak Kualitas pendidikan dalam mempersiapkan peserta didik agar memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis belum optimal. Inkuiri terbimbing merangsang kamampuan berpikir peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi sistem pertahanan tubuh. Penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah empat kelas dengan sampel terdiri atas dua kelas yaitu XI IPA A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI IPA B sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan cluster random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan soal pilihan berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: perhitungan paired sampel t test pada model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing mendapatkan nilai signifikan (sig) sebesar 0,00 yang artinya nilai sig lebih kecil dari 0,05 (0,00<0,05). Ini menunjukkan probabilitas kurang dari 0,05 yang berarti model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol tidak sama. Nilai pre-test dan post-test lebih besar dari 0,05 (sig>0,05) maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa data dalam penelitian ini bersifat homogen. Adanya perbedaan signifikan dengan penggunaan model pembelajaran ini hendaknya ditindaklanjuti oleh lembaga pendidikan. Kualifikasi guru perlu ditingkatkan dalam melakukan inovasi dan implementasi model pembelajaran ini untuk mengoptimalkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik.

Abstract

Critical thinking in science learning emphasizes students' knowledge and understanding of scientific concepts and processes needed to make decisions in real conditions. Students who have the ability to think critically are expected to be able to face problems and make decisions intelligently and based on information to live a better life. This study aims to improve students' critical thinking skills by developing teaching materials based on local wisdom. The results showed that the learning carried out significantly affected the level of critical thinking of students, both viewed as a whole (z=-4.731; p-value=0.000<0.05) or based on three aspects of critical thinking separately (p-value=0.000<0.05). The results of this study recommend that the use of teaching materials with local wisdom in science learning materials, especially materials that make up the ecosystem, must be optimized, both at the school and university levels.Abstrak Berpikir kritis dalam pembelajaran sains menekankan pada pengetahuan dan pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap konsep-konsep ilmiah dan proses yang diperlukan untuk mengambil keputusan dalam kondisi nyata. Mahasiswa yang memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis diharapkan mampu menghadapi masalah serta mengambil keputusan secara cerdas dan berbasis informasi agar dapat menjalani kehidupan yang lebih baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis mahasiswa dengan mengembangkan bahan ajar berwawasan kearifan lokal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran yang dilakukan mempengaruhi tingkat berpikir kritis mahasiswa secara signifikan, baik dilihat secara keseluruhan (z=-4,731; p-value=0,000<0,05), maupun berdasarkan tiga aspek berpikir kritis secara terpisah (p-value=0,000<0,05). Hasil penelitian ini merekomendasikan agar penggunaan bahan ajar berwawasan kearifan lokal dalam materi pembelajaran sains khususnya materi yang membentuk ekosistem perlu dioptimalkan, baik dalam level sekolah maupun pada tingkat perguruan tinggi.

Abstract

The Student Worksheet (LKPD) is a learning tool that teachers can use to increase the activities of students in the teaching and learning process. SMA Negeri 2 Percut Sei Tuan is one of the schools that has not used HOTS-based LKPD to improve student learning outcomes. This research produces a HOTS-based LKPD on cell material which aims to determine the feasibility of LKPD products, determine the practicality of LKPD products, and determine student learning outcomes. This study uses a 4D development model by Thiagarajan, Dorothy S. Semmel, and Melvyn I, Semmel with the stages of definition, design, development, and disseminate. The results of material expert validation obtained 93% results, and media expert validation got results of 80% with appropriate criteria so that LKPD was feasible to use. The results of practicality by teachers obtained results of 65.625%, and students got results of 76.16% with practical criteria, so LKPD were practically used as teaching materials. Student learning outcomes got results of 0.72 with very effective criteria, so LKPD is very effectively used to improve student learning outcomes. With the HOTS-based LKPD, teachers can help improve high-level thinking skills so that student learning outcomes are effective.AbstrakLembar Kerja Siswa (LKPD) merupakan salah satu sarana pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan oleh guru dalam meningkatkan aktivitas siswa dalam proses belajar mengajar. SMA Negeri 2 Percut Sei Tuan merupakan salah satu sekolah yang belum menggunakan LKPD berbasis HOTS untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menghasilkan LKPD berbasis HOTS pada materi sel yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan produk LKPD, mengetahui kepraktisan produk LKPD, dan mengetahui hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan 4D oleh Thiagarajan, Dorothy S. Semmel, dan Melvyn I, Semmel dengan tahapan pendefinisian (define), perancangan (design), pengembangan (develop), dan penyebaran (disseminate). Hasil validasi ahli materi memperoleh hasil sebesar 93%, validasi ahli media memperoleh hasil sebesar 80% dengan kriteria sesuai sehingga LKPD layak digunakan. Hasil kepraktisan guru memperoleh hasil 65,625% dan siswa memperoleh hasil 76,16% dengan kriteria praktis sehingga LKPD praktis digunakan sebagai bahan ajar. Hasil belajar siswa diperoleh hasil sebesar 0,72 dengan kriteria sangat efektif sehingga LKPD sangat efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Dengan adanya LKPD berbasis HOTS, guru dapat membantu meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi sehingga hasil belajar siswa efektif.

Abstract

This study used the survey method to overview the concept analysis skills of high school students in Palembang City. This research was limited by the concept of the respiratory system and the circulatory system. The research sample (n=412) was a high school student from a school in Ilir Barat I District, Palembang City. The data was collected by using concept analysis questions, totalling 25 questions. The results showed that the concept analysis skills of high school students in Palembang City is “enough” (44,24%). The results of this study also showed that the analysis of the concept of high school students in Palembang City on the material of the respiratory system is better than the material of the circulatory system. The highest and lowest achievements per item can be seen in the respiratory system material (the highest achievement on item number 9 and the lowest achievement on item number 5). The results of this study indicated the importance of learning and assessment that train students' higher order thinking skills, so that concept analysis skills can also be increased.Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan gambaran tentang kemampuan analisis konsep pada siswa SMA di Kecamatan Ilir Barat 1 Kota Palembang dengan menggunakan metode survei. Penelitian ini dibatasi oleh konsep sistem respirasi dan sistem peredaran darah. Sampel penelitian (n=412) merupakan siswa SMA yang berasal dari sekolah di Kecamatan Ilir Barat I Kota Palembang. Data dijaring dengan menggunakan soal analisis konsep yang berjumlah 25 soal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan analisis konsep siswa SMA di Kecamatan Ilir Barat 1 Kota Palembang terkategori cukup (44,24%). Hasil penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa analisis konsep siswa SMA di Kota Palembang pada materi sistem respirasi lebih baik jika dibandingkan dengan materi sistem peredaran darah. Capaian tertinggi dan terendah per item soal terlihat pada materi sistem respirasi (capaian tertinggi soal nomor 9 dan capaian terendah pada soal nomor 5). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pentingnya pembelajaran dan penilaian yang melatihkan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa, sehingga kemampuan analisis konsep pun dapat meningkat.

Abstract

A Popular Scientific Book (PSB), which mainly contains 12 species of herbs that grow in the Tabanio Coastal Forest, Tanah Laut Regency, has been compiled, but its practicality has not been determined. The research aims to determine the practicality of the book. The determination is based on the results of the readability test, implementation, and response to the PSB. The subject is a student who has taken a course in Higher Plant Botany (Phanerogamae). Readability was tested one on one by three subjects. Implementation was observed by 5 observers who assessed implementation by small groups (5 subjects) and also by field groups (10 subjects). The instrument is a questionnaire with 9 statements. Responses to PSB were also obtained from small groups consisting of 5 subjects and field groups with 10 subjects. The questionnaire instrument consists of 15 statements. The readability value is 94.23% or categorized as Very Good. The value of the implementation of expectations originating from the small group is 91.11% and the actual implementation of the field group is 92.22%. These two values are categorized as Very Good and seem steady. Expected response values and actual responses are 87.20% and 88.40%, respectively. Both of these response values are categorized as Strongly Agree and also steady. Based on the test results, overall this PSB is practically used with the consideration that any deficiencies found are always revised.Abstrak Buku Ilmiah Popular (BIP) yang konten utamanya 12 spesies herba yang tumbuh di Hutan Pantai Tabanio, Kabupaten Tanah Laut sudah disusun, tetapi kepraktisannya belum ditentukan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menentukan kepraktisan buku tersebut. Penentuannya berdasarkan pada hasil uji keterbacaan, keterlaksanaan, dan respons terhadap BIP. Subjeknya adalah mahasiswa yang pernah mengambil mata kuliah Botani Tumbuhan Tinggi (Phanerogamae). Keterbacaan diuji satu lawan satu oleh tiga subjek. Keterlaksanaan diamati oleh 5 pengamat yang menilai pelaksanaan oleh kelompok kecil (5 subjek) dan juga oleh kelompok lapangan (10 subjek). Instrumennya berupa angket dengan 9 pernyataan. Respons terhadap BIP diperoleh juga dari kelompok kecil yang terdiri atas 5 subjek dan kelompok lapangan dengan 10 subjek. Instrumen angketnya terdiri atas 15 pernyataan. Nilai keterbacaan adalah 94,23% atau terkategori Sangat Baik. Nilai keterlaksanaan harapan yang bersumber dari kelompok kecil adalah 91,11% dan keterlaksanaan aktual dari kelompok lapangan 92,22%. Kedua nilai ini dikategorikan Sangat Baik dan terkesan ajeg. Nilai respons harapan dan respons aktual berturut-turut adalah 87,20% dan 88,40%. Kedua nilai respons ini terkategori Sangat Setuju dan juga bersifat ajeg. Berdasarkan pada hasil uji itu, secara keseluruhan BIP ini praktis digunakan dengan pertimbangan bahwa segala kekurangan yang ditemukan selalu direvisi.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the conceptions of elementary school science teachers on 40 science concepts that were found to have misconceptions in the field. Identification of the teacher's conception using the three tiers instrument that had been developed previously, then remediation was carried out using the P2OC2R learning model. Forty science concepts were then tested on eleven teachers. Initially the three tiers instrument was launched to the participants, then the test results were mapped in the form of a conception profile describing the distribution of respondents who understood the concept, did not understand the concept and misconceptions. The next stage, the teachers were carried out learning using P2OC2R learning with the stages of exploring the teacher's initial conception using probing questions, testing the teacher's initial conception through observation of concept examples, negotiating and confirming the conception and reflection for 40 concepts. Furthermore, respondents were tested again using three tiers instruments. The results showed that there had been a change in conception from not understanding the concept and misconceptions to understanding the concept reaching 75.5%. The implication of this research is the action to remediate misconceptions because this research has been able to find the reliability and effectiveness of P2OC2R.Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi konsepsi guru IPA SD pada 40 konsep IPA yang ditemukan miskonsepsi di lapangan. Identifikasi konsepsi guru menggunakan instrumen three tiers yang telah dikembangkan sebelumnya, kemudian dilakukan remediasi dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran P2OC2R. Empat puluh konsep IPA kemudian diujicobakan pada sebelas guru. Awalnya instrumen three tiers diluncurkan kepada peserta, kemudian hasil tes dipetakan dalam bentuk profil konsepsi yang menggambarkan sebaran responden yang paham konsep, tidak paham konsep dan miskonsepsi. Tahap selanjutnya guru melaksanakan pembelajaran menggunakan pembelajaran P2OC2R dengan tahapan menggali konsepsi awal guru menggunakan pertanyaan probing, menguji konsepsi awal guru melalui observasi contoh konsep, negosiasi dan konfirmasi konsepsi serta refleksi untuk 40 konsep. Selanjutnya responden diuji kembali dengan menggunakan instrumen three tiers. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa telah terjadi perubahan konsepsi dari tidak memahami konsep dan miskonsepsi menjadi memahami konsep mencapai 75,5%. Implikasi dari hasil penelitian ini adalah adanya kemudahan dalam melakukan remediasi miskonsepsi dengan adanya model remediasi yang disebut Model P2OC2R.
